Room was fantastic; big, airy, comfortable, bathroom had a great size bath and rain shower as well as standard shower head. On site amenities were amazing such as the spa and pool. The convenience store has caused back door to allow guests to save a walk around the block and is located very conveniently for the mall and local food stands. The locals are wonderful people taking great pride in their city. As a foreigner you get stared at a lot as generally foreigners are uncommon in Xiangyang. But if you greet them in Chinese when staring you get a warm welcome. When I return to Xiangyang again I don't think there's any hotel I'd rather stay than the Crowne Wanda

The Wi-Fi was pretty bad and the rooms didn't seem well soundproofed as the room next door were up most the night talking and shouting loudly on the last night.

Die Mitarbeiter waren sehr zuvorkommend und haben trotz Sprachbarriere alles verstanden und extra viel Zeit genommen. Die Zimmer waren immer Sauber und wurden ordentlich gereinigt. Direkt neben dem Hotel gibt es ein großes Einkaufgeschäft sowie viele kleine Einkaufmöglichkeiten etc.

Das Bett war für meinen Geschmack etwas hart. Das ist aber Persönliches Empfinden

Location

Facility is really bad. Air con was hardly working. Clogged shower drain. Poor and over-priced breakfast. Check-in was another unhappy experience. The staff did not check the record in details and simply told us only 2 breakfasts were included every day. I showed them the Booking record which clearly stated the price we paid included 3 breakfasts every day. However, this was not accepted as prove. Instead, we were told that they'd check and let us know. Finally, the next day it was confirmed that 3 people's breakfasts were covered every day. Even now I still don't quite get why the staff did not check the details when the booking was confirmed. We used 4 breakfasts on day1 so we should still have 2 left for day 2. Since we didn't like the breakfast, we decided not to purchase another 2. However, when we sent the kids to the restaurant the next morning, they were told that they needed to pay to eat. I assume the reception staff did not update the record with the breakfast restaurant. Therefore, the restaurant staff looked at our record which had 4 breakfasts used and told the kids that we had no breakfast left. The kids had to come back to the room. I called the room service and was told to wait for them to call back. However, we waited and waited and nothing happened. As it was approaching 10am, the breakfast finish time, I rang the room service again before anyone called back and made a complaint. Finally someone confirmed that everything was ok and the kids could go back to the restaurant. The whole experience was really unpleasant.

Staff are absolutely impeccable and the cafe/ restaurant on the ground floor is excellent. The area is very safe with some lovely parks nearby although there didn't seem to be much shopping in the immediate vicinity. Dining options were a little bit limited unless you dined at the hotel. The city itself is a hidden gem unknown to many Westerners. Zhaoming Tai blew my brains out because it was so lovely, relaxing and an absolute spectacle to see. I hope to one day return to this city and this hotel. Just be cautious that the location shown on the map on hotels.com may not be accurate. When I booked this hotel, the map was showing this hotel south of the river near the walled city. It turned out to be 5-7km NORTH of the river! I have asked hotels.com to fix their map!

I had a great stay in this hotel again after a long gap. special thanks to all the staff who really took great care in serving me at the lounge. They briefed me about the hotel and also the benefits to be availed there. Looking at the services and ambience, i feel i would stay at this hotel again during my next visit to Xiangyang

The staff is very helpful. The hotel is located at a very convenient location with places for shopping and walking around.

The hotel is located in downtown Xiangyang, with the bustling commercial street right next to it. Shopping and dining are very convenient. The hotel has a clean and hygienic environment and is well decorated. I will come back in the future.

This hotel was a great place with many facilities. Located at the centre of the city with is quite convenient for roaming around the city. Food was great and staff was very friendly. They are quite conversant with English also which helps you to assist in china. Anyway a great stay.

Our experiences at the Crowne Plaza were beyond your expectations. The staff was very helpful and went out of their way to make our stay a pleasant one. The room was clean and inviting. The location was great close to everything we needed. The General Manager Paul Wang was a real delight and was genuinely interested in our trip and stay.I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Xiangyang.

Until now it's been the only hotel in Xiangyang with service for western visitors. Good breakfast and buffet. Entertainment in the Bar is also good. Rooms a clean and spacy. I have spent more than 30 days in total at this hotel and it has always been a satisfying experience.

Stayed here for business in room 2109 and it’s probably the best place to stay in town. Room was big, spacious and clean overlooking the lights of the city. Tip: if you want a plaza view you need an even number room... Gym was cool, overlooking the plaza with a nice big pool. But...I definitely recommend paying the extra for the club floor. With breakfast included and in the evening, food and drink (alcohol too). Great deal. Will stay here again if I return to Xiangyang on business... because other than business there isn’t much else to do...

Well, if you are a foreigner - non Chinese speaking, this probably is the best hotel for you. You get English speaking staff, English breakfast options, English TV channels and proximity to many a shopping arcades. I strongly believe that language is not a barrier, but if you don't want to have chicken soup with pork stuffed bread and sushi for breakfast ...... then this is the place for you. Rooms are good, clean and typically 5 star. A good place to stay

I was At the Crowne Plaza in November and could not have has a better Service. The gym is good with new Thread mills and exercise machines but they are limited and st a small place. Go straight to the pool area and enjoy a better space! Rooms are nice - ask for the Plaza view - and food is delicious! There is really nothing to go wrong...!

after delay arriving due to late plane, was charged again! two days stay cost me over $1000.

We stayed one night with 7 colleagues in that hotel. The price was 1008 RMB (breakfast excl.) for executive floor rooms (40 m2). The sales manager didn't react properly. The buffet is ok and the room is nice but really overpriced for the city.

I have been in the hôtel 3 times for business. Every time I paid a different price and everytime more expensive (for same room categoty). Despite our complains, nothing was possible to negociate. Even if the hotel is a good one, price can be out of China standards. Wifi : Impossible to use in the evening, too slow to do email.

best hotel in Xiangyang. nice, clean, comfortable beds, good size rooms. friendly and efficient front desk. good location, with Wanda mall being 1 minute away can only recommend it

Very good Hotel. Good quality of room. Well situated in the middle of the town and also near a Wanda Plaza. Bar and restaurant of the hotel are also very good. Main hall is impressive; Good service and quick check in/check out

This must be the most luxury and best hotel in town. It is very good, the rooms are clean and nice. The bed is comfortable. The breakfast was awesome, I'm used to only get Chinese choices but here it was a large selection of western dishes as well. The coffee was also very good and that you are not spoiled with. If I'm coming back, this will be the hotel again.

I was on the 16th floor, staying for five nights. Everything was as you'd expect for this hotel chain. My room was large and comfortable, even the bath was inviting! The internet connection was there, and mostly worked, but was very slow and unreliable. The hotel's airport transfers are very expensive, more than twice the typical taxi fare.

Good hotel, but in need for room upgrade

One night there for business. This hôtel is very nice, nice atmosphere and people always ready to help. Room are "standard" for this kind of international hotel : clean, all necessary equipments. Not expensive.

The hotel is very well appointed and the breakfast is delicious. I needed to use the Business Centre on one occasion but it was closed so the Concierge took it upon himself to offer his workstation for my printing needs. It was most impressive.

This is very central to Wanda Plaza, Zhugeliang square and Zizhen park, the staff are friendly and understand English. I like Xiangyang as it is easier than Beijing to get around in. Plenty to do here and always something on in the square over the road.

This hotel takes care of you. The rooms are great. Well taken care of and kept up. Clean... well organized.. comfortable all around. The location was perfect for me... as I was visiting a new supplier. The Huge park square for afternoon walks and enjoying the culture was great. I was able to catch a PING PONG match and other cultural events. Beautiful statues and night life just outside the square. The restaurants at the hotel are just good.. Not great... but good. The Buffet for dinner is good. The sushi spot is ok. Cheap. I didn't see an expensive meal at all. For breakfast the buffet is the spot. They have it all... all you need. Great coffee.. THey don't make regularly make COffee to go... so they don't have the proper cups for them. They will give you a soda cup for it.. ask to double it up. Coffee is hot. Its a high rise hotel... great views of XiangYang... Staff was very nice and most speak English which makes the experience less stressful. The gym is normal... some weights.. some cardio machines.... big pool. I'll be back!

The location is very good, at Wanda Plaza just beside Zhugeliang Square. Because Xiangyang itself is not very big compared to other China cities like nearby Wuhan, the transportation from hotel to your destination usually is not a big problem. The hotel is pretty new, the only issue I had from facility point of view is the cycling machine in the gym. First, the whole gym has only one cycling machine; second, the machine reset itself from time to time.

It is such a grand hotel. Service is great and you must take the scenic ride up to 51st floor via the elevator. You see the city and when you go for the drinks on 51st floor..wow ..the view plus drinks can really kick start yoir holiday. The deluxe rooms are so enjoyable to sleep in..

If you end up in Xiangyang, this is probably the best place to stay. Not really 5 star if it were in a bigger city, more like 4 star. But the price we got was almost 3 star price, so wasn't complaining! This hotel is a Wanda property attached to one of their malls, which makes it very convenient to go to restaurants and buy stuff around the hotel. It is part of a huge real estate development that also includes a public square, apartments, the hotel and the mall. Very convenient location wise. The rooms are decent, although a bit run down. Like I said, 4 star standard but we were very happy to have it in Xiangyang. A pleasant surprise was the breakfast. I only cost us an additional 80 Rmb for 2 people when booking online so I wasn't expecting much. Was very pleasantly surprised. Espresso machine coffee, quite a bit of Western selections and even 2 choices for bacon - crispy or normal! I have never seen that even in really nice hotels! Would stay here again if ever needed a hotel in Xiangyang. Recommend others do so as well!

Excellent rooms, good restaurant for breakfast and dinner, very friendly staff with one exception in the bar. Very clean and tidy.Check in and out very quick and efficient Very good shower in the room.. Only downside was the bar with disinterested staff. Luckily manager stopped by to ask how were things and once we talked he got things moving and I got a free dinner. Pity it had to come to this but full marks to the manager for listening and sorting things out. He saved the day and so I would stay there again.

We were told this would not be so good during business trip. The experience was much better than expected. Friendly accommodating staff, clean, modern and quiet room. Large breakfast selection. Rapid check in and check-out.

It was truly a five star experience equal to some of the great Hotels in capital cities in the world

I really enjoy my stays here. They provide a very diverse breakfast that gives you many food options including almost all western dishes. The rooms are nice albeit there is currently construction going on in a nearby street and the noise from the town square can be loud at times. The staff is always responsive and I appreciate all of the amenities. It's location next to the mall is also a real benefit.

We get to Xiangfan (Now Xiangyang) on a regular basis for business and this new Crown Plaza is head and shoulders above anything else in the area. It is modern, clean and comfortable, with reasonable prices and all the features you would expect in this class of hotel. The hotel restaurants are very good and the adjoining shopping center has many more restaurants right next door. Plenty of choices. The Japanese restaurant in the hotel is especially good. I have a Japanese colleague who is pretty particular about the quality of Japanese food he will eat and he (uncharacteristically) gave this place a thumbs up. I would highly recommend the Crowne Plaza as the the first choice for anyone visiting Xiagyang.
