Very clean & tidy

Rooms are spacious with everything you need. Cleaned to a high standard with comfortable bed. Short walk to the beach for a morning stroll.

There could be more lighting around the car park and some line marking. Really pushing to think of something that I didn’t like about the property.

Great accommodation, modern and clean, with very friendly staff. Bernie was very hospitable, knowledgeable and quite a character.

The owner was lovely - the room was well decked out.

Bernie is the best host!! Fingers on all the pulses & is always smiling & joking :) Bed was extremely comfortable & the room was spot on clean! Shower pressure great! Restaurant on site - food was exceptional - my partner actually got a 'rare steak' which many restaurants struggle doing & the whitebait patties were packed & yummy! - value for money & alot! Being able to choose your salads from the salad bar & the amount that suited you was like going back in time lol Overall experience was top notch & we are definitely planning another trip that way just so we can go back there!! Highly recommend the Paroa Hotel!!!!

The large 3 bedroom home was massive in size and had a lovely little courtyard. The beds were comfy and the layout great.

If you are looking for a flash modern stay, this wouldn’t be your pick, it just has a warm homely feel.

The owner and staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. We were pleasantly surprised when our room was upgraded to an even better option at no extra cost. The room was spacious, clean, warm, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The dinner at the Paroa Hotel restaurant is definitely worth trying — the food was absolutely delicious. Highly recommended!

Super friendly staff and very welcoming on arrival. Great hospitality by everyone overall. Breakfast was delicious, accommodation unit, pub and restaurant area were warm, cozy and inviting. .

In our unit only observation is the unit by the TV in the bedroom is a safety hazard, can easily bang your head on the edge side by the TV where the side of the unit comes a little way down from the top.

Lovely quiet clean room with all facilities and food was superb and reasonably priced. The whole stay was right up to any enjoyable level.

The room was great, and the shower was the best shower we have had during our travels in the South Island. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the room was very spacious. The staff were super friendly and provided us with a lot of information about the area. We were able to walk around the beach, which was so pretty and easy to access.

Everything about the hotel was great! Dinner service ended earlier than we thought, however, we found an alternative nearby. Wish we had eaten at the hotel restaurant though!

The owners of the property were very friendly and check in was fast & easy. The proximity to the beach was a huge plus. Room was clean and comfortable with a spacious kitchenette/living area. Meals in the restaurant were really delicious.

Bedrooms were very small, with room for a bedside table on one side only and no space for suitcase or even a shelf/cupboard. Our room had two bedrooms with a very small bathroom in between which would have been difficult to navigate if there were more than two of us.

Bernie was very nice and welcoming. Room was great, nice and clean. Restaurant food was lovely, good size and very tasty

A bit noisy with gravel carpark

El personal muy amable, desde nuestra llegada. La habitacion muy comoda, incluyendo la regadera, cama, en general todo muy bien. El restaurante muy rico, tanto para la cena como el desayuno.

En general nos gusto todo. La playa no es especialmente bonita, pero a nosotros no nos importo, porque no nos hospedamos en el hotel por la playa.

The proximity to the beach made for a nice morning and evening stroll. The patio looking out to an open area made for a private and quiet stay. Did not hear the hey 6 traffic even though close. Cosy and comfortable little apartment.

Made you feel welcome as soon as you walked in the door. Family run business that made us feel like family as well. Room was clean & comfortable, staff all helpful. Guide in room was great, detailing all attractions in the area to see. We ate at the attached restaurant & the servings were huge & delicious. Would definitely stay again.

The room was very tight. Bedroom and bathroom especially The meal in the restaurant was disappointing. Chops that were too tough to cut even with a steak knife and served swimming in what tasted like an instant gravy. Vegetables and salad bar under the expected standard. Sad as the reviews gave a different impression. The guests at the table next to us rated their meal as terrible. 🫩

The most helpful & friendly staffs from the restaurant & bar. They serves very good steak & roast pork ribs etc. Hotel manager Kayla is most helpful and attentive. Beautiful hotel too.

The owner checked us in he was friendly and efficient, showed us to our unit, did a good run through of the facility and the area. the unit was comfortable and good bathroom, however the second room was a tight fit with nowhere to out suitcase or to hang clothes. We were there for a farewell of a departed family member, and we were given a room just off the restaurant for our own use. very good menu, staff friendly and good info regarding the menu. no one in our group of 20 plus had a complaint regarding their meal. Overall, we enjoyed the experience. I would recommend the Paroa hotel.

The check-in took over 30 minutes. The lady was not very friendly and we didnt even get the room we booked. Many items in the motel room were rusty and the heating was broken. (The room had a temporary heating unit which was weak)

Good sized room, clean and comfortable. I thought the room rate was on the high side but it seems typical for the lower South Island. Pub and restaurant onsite and a 100m walk to the beach.

We ate at the restaurant and were a little disappointed with the food quality
