Lovely onsen hotel. Near train station. Amazing breakfast
El onsen con las vistas
Everything- the onsens were great

Love the kaiseki breakfast, the english speaking staff and the sake night with lots of snacks to go with it.
The old world feel. The amazing food experience. The separate dining rooms. The cot for the baby in the restaurant. The manners of the staff. The private onsen and the communal.
Nothing
The hotel staff were extremely warm and welcoming. The Japanese style rooms were large and well appointed. And the dinner service was just amazing! The best meal we had for the almost 2 weeks we spent in Japan!
The open air onsen for men on the rooftop was quite exposed to the taller buildings next door.
Wonderful location close to train and bus links. The hotel staff were so kind and looked after us very well. The meals were exceptional and we would not hesitate to recommend. We hope to come back again. Many thanks to all at the hotel.
Nothing it was all wonderful
Tolles traditionelles Hotel.

The breakfast was exceptional. Variety of food, custom printed menus, allergy notes and service were wonderful. We left each day having tried new foods and feeling good physically and mentally! The onsite onsen experience and spa like dressing room were a wonderful inclusion for guests of this hotel.
We just wished we could have stayed longer!
Hot spring. Service. Food.

The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Trying to find somewhere to eat on the Wednesday night when a lot of restaurants are closed.
Nice people, old fashioned but elegant. Meals were unbelievable very gourmet. Private onsen nice. I liked that we had our own room for dining.
Nothing
This hotel is steps away from the station. Love the staff and facilities. Breakfast could not be beat! We had an amazing stay here and will return again, no doubt. Tsubakino did not disappoint. It made us sad to leave.
Nothing. Will stay here again!
Unglaublich zuvorkommendes Personal, die alles an dein Wohlergehen setzen. Schöne Zimmer in Japanischem Stil. Unglaublich gute Küche.
The food was amazing and the location and staff were excellent
The Onsen could have a cool pool and you still pay an onsen fee if you dont go in.
Beautiful traditional environment. We really appreciate flexibility in providing food for our chronically ill daughter after serving hours by packing it up. Incredible service. Stunning rooms.
We were disappointed with the couch our main room. You couldn't sit on it without the cushions falling off the wooden back. In the pictures it looked like a comfortable western style couch at standard height. Other rooms seemed to have couches more like pictured, though. Unable to pay for late check out.
The beds were very comfortable, the delicious tea in the rooms was a lovely touch, and the kimonos were beautiful and available in all sizes. The toiletries were of excellent quality and smelled amazing. We had an unforgettable girls’ time (with my stepdaughter and my 3 daughters) in the baths on the 5th floor. We received such a warm welcome, and the traditional breakfast served privately for us was a delightful surprise. The traditional decoration and set up of the rooms. Coffee and tea were excellent Everything was truly exceptional… Even a list of restaurants was proposed with the link to guide us to it…we only regretted staying for just one night. P.S. The apple juice produced by their farm alone is worth the visite!
My little daughter of 7 would have love some Japanese bread or dessert at dessert as she had more difficulties with traditional only breakfast.
They accommodated a Western style breakfast for us and it was great!! The private dining room made us feel very special. Rooms were a good size for a Japanese style room. Facilities were good. Staff were super helpful and so kind!! Everyone went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable.
Nothing to not like!
Love the onsen/public bath; delicious meal,
Everything , the Japanese meal experiences , the food quality , the staffs , the onsen spa .
If there is anything missing , is that there is no laundry service offered in the hotel or close by .
I wish the water in tub in our room was warmer but they can’t control that I believe.
The location, the room size n cleanliness, the staffs, the onsen spa , the quality of food etc .
There is nothing that I don’t like .
Great facilities
One of the best onsen ryokan experiences. The premium onsen rooms were great, with two toilets which is a big plus. I didn’t notice this while booking. The ryokan perhaps can advertise this more prominently. The dinner and breakfasts were delicious and service highly efficient. Lovely stay in the Yudanaka area.
Nothing, it is one of the few onsen ryokans I will visit again, perhaps in winter time for the Jigokudani Monkey Park.
Location for access to the Snow Monkey Park (a few minutes by taxi). Also, one of the only hotels that had decaffeinated coffee in the breakfast restaurant and in guest lounge (but not in bedrooms). As I need decaffeinated drinks this was a big plus for me. The private outdoor Onsen (for a charge), on the roof was nice if you don’t like to use public baths
Nothing really.
La experiencia en el desayuno impresionante.
The hotel was beautiful. Very quiet, clean, and comfortable. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The food was some of the best we’ve had in Japan! We loved our stay.
Friendly and helpful staff, and traditional breakfast
Great location
Facilities are well managed and clean
Much nicer meals and hotel than expected. The dinners were phenomenal and very filling. The onsen was great, both indoor and outdoor baths were great! The room was very large with enough space to have our whole group together.
This hotel places a strong emphasis on personal service and attention - the staff genuinely want you to have the best experience possible and happily bend over backwards to do so. The attention to detail is phenomenal, especially at breakfast where you have a daily choice of a Japanese or Western breakfast (except for the 1st day which is always Japanese) - we opted for the Japanese breakfast for our entire stay which was filling and varied each day. Their Onsen (traditional Japanese bath houses) options were solid - clean and well appointed - I liked that you had the option to book your own private session (which we ended up doing prior to using the public option, which is gender separated and complimentary).
The hotel aims to be authentic, so be aware if you book the traditional room you will be sleeping on the floor on a matt instead of a full on bed with a mattress. Not really a fault of the hotel but I had a bit of a time adjusting and even with the mat found the sleeping arrangement a little hard (literally) on the hips and shoulders).
Love the public bath view and hotel room view all facing the mountains

breakfast is amazing. the location is great. train station is in walking distance (in 5 mins).
Very Good Ryokan with only a few minutes walk from the station. And they even provide shuttle bus, even though its so close, which is somewhat unnecessary for me. Overall the service and food is good. For Onsen, the indoor Onsen is too hot for me, but the outdoor one is around the right temperature. If you like the high temperature Onsen, then you should try the indoor one.
Otentic Japanese style riokan with good service
Lo staff
Il ristorante consigliatomi!
The experience Tsubakino provides is unmatchable. The service is top notch. Mind blowing Japanese breakfast experience. Not the usual one with buffet set up .. you will be treated like a king Free complementary sake (6nos per adult ) every night 8-10 pm with unlimited snacks to accompany ☺️ On top of it we booked private onsen (75 minutes session). This is a must do activity.

Nettes Hotel, sehr traditionell.
The location is excellent and we had a rent a car so could park it on the block next door. Our room was beautiful. We opted for mountain views and proper beds and they were so comfortable. The included meals were so amazing. Every morsel was delicious and we couldn’t believe the quality and presentation. Would highly recommend this hotel. Was topped off by free sake after dinner.

A lot of the onsen experiences were brilliant and the option to have a private onsen in a room was amazing. The staff were incredible and the food tasted amazing.
Cozy accommodation and Onsen.
Nothing to complain about.
Sehr schönes Hotel
The cleanliness of the property and the extremely generous hospitality of the staff.
Nothing. Everything was perfect!
Outstanding hotel. Very professional staff. Great breakfast. Outstanding Onsen. Rooms very comfortable with great amenities. So close to Yamanaka station. Bedding excellent quality. Loved the Yukatas in the room. Lovely little gift shop. Could not fault the hotel. Highly recommend.
We loved everything!
The staff were amazing! The facility offerings were also fantastic.
Nothing
really liked the vegetarian kaiseki dinner that was prepared for me also appreciated the communication between me and staff beforehand was very nice to experience a japanese ryokan the private hot springs baths were amazing
quite costly, and using a train, it was challenging to get there, very limited connections to nagano, only travelling once an hour
Delicious breakfast spread. Very convenient location from train station
Limited restaurant options nearby
Staff made it truly memorable. Close to train station to get around easily. Food was fabulous and onsen, especially outside was so relaxing
The staff were exceptionally friendly and went out their way to be helpful. The beds were very comfortable.Breakfast was amazing ,so much variety.Really loved visiting the Onsen upstairs.Very conveniently situated near Yudanaka station where the local bus left from to visit the snow monkey park.A very special place.
Nothing
The staff are all extremely attentive, food was delicious (I probably put on a kilo just staying here 3 nights) and the onsen was a great temperature in a relaxing and beautiful setting
Some other guests were noisy, especially in the onsen
Great room, service, food, location, and onsen!
I did feel like the welcome wine pour was a bit small
The staff was excellent. We hiked to the snow monkeys and our boots ended up very muddy. The staff took our boots and cleaned them for us which was quite unexpected but very much appreciated.
Nothing
This is terrific place to stop to experience a traditional ryokan -be sure to book the Kaisei-ryori. Also ideal for a stop at the snow monkeys - wear hiking boots with spikes forth trek up.
Staff, food , traditional aspect, Onsen facilities
If I have to say something is that There is little to do outside the hotel
Superb location. Just a short walk from the train station
