Property is located in a remote area catering access to asahidake ropeway, so its location is perfect for those intending to summit asahidake! Property has everything, supper for those who require it, onsens for you to soak in, dinner/breakfast if required. It was a really nice touch for them to offer tattoo stickers to those with small sized tattoos to enjoy the onsen
Nothing, it was great!
The coziness and scenic beauty.

Room was spacious and bed was comfortable, Onsen was great and very clean. Dinner was very good, staff were veryhelpful and nice. We had a very good stay. Thank you 🙏
Nothing.
Really nice place, the staff is so attentive, a lot of free staff to grab, the onsen is great and the food is in another league. The breakfast was the best I have ever eaten, plenty of high quality fish and a lot of other varities of food, all with great quality. The location is very good and calming (there are no of other restaurants in the area) note that to explore the whole area you may have to do a bit more driving, but in my opinion it’s totally worth it.
Nothing
great location, just minutes drive from the Asahidake ropeway. nice and big rooms. clean, friendly staff. great buffe breakfast.
no restaurants near the place. need to plan your meals. closest town is about 30 min. you can have dinner in the place but it's very very expensive.
You will be stuffed full literally everyday. The Asahikawa style ramen here was better than that in the Ramen Village! Food is to die for. Onsen was very nice also with the outdoor view.
The site says you automatically get 2 different courses if your stay is 3D2N or more. But what actually happens is the Japanese cuisine gets overbooked at least 2 days in advance so we never got to try that. Please book your French/Japanese style 懐石料理 in advance. Also if you want to do a full Asahidake Mountain loop, choose somewhere else, breakfast timing here is simply too late for that to happen.
The hotel is pretty rundown. Rooms were very tired and dark, they clearly haven't been refurbished in decades, Service is is rather charmless. You have the sense that the hotel sees guests, Japanese or foreign as a pure commodity. 7 course dinner was served in around 30 minutes and was pretty rank. The whole exercise seemed to be a lesson in getting customers in and oout of the restaurant as quickly as possible.
French dinner; private Onsen; location;
Staff spoke little English; not much space in room for luggage and hiking equipment;
Good location, very nice onsen, especially the private ones. Good food and nice touch with the extras in the lobby area (sweets, tea, wine).
Expensive for the quality of the room. Overall building is in need of a refresher. Be mindful to reserve for dinner! We checked in at 1800 and were told there was no restaurant serving because we didn’t reserve in advance. Friendly staff fixed it in the end.
Nada
Une légère rénovation ne serait pas superflue.
Location is 1/4 mile from Ropeway. Tea and snacks in the afternoon were lovely as was the onsen. French meals were delicious. Staff very helpful.
Would have liked to try Japanese meal.
La ubicación.
Necesita una renovación integral. No lo han tocado desde hace años
The staff was super friendly!
The property is clearly behind in maintainance and outdated, whereas room rates are super high. Breakfast and dinner are ok, but not outstanding. Food in Japan is cheap, but dinner at the hotel is super expensive. There was no butter at breakfast for 3 days (!!!) in a row, whereas bread rolls were served… Also, no (paid) laundry service. Closest coin laundry is a 35min drive down the mountain. In our opinion not worth the high rate
The staff were super friendly and keen to assist in any means possible. Some was through google translation but they were fabulous. The food was exceptional. I'm sure when I booked I selected a Japanese meal for the first night however it wasn't received at the hotel so please contact them through the messenger and double confirm. The hotel is located at the foot hills of Mt Asahidake, the highest mountain in Hokkaido. Hiking the 20km route is 20km 6-7hrs. Coming back and dousing in the onsen was so wonderful and relaxing. I cannot recommend this place enough.
Wonderful hotel. Large rooms by Japanese standards. Delicious dinners- the staff take the food very seriously. The best onsen of all the onsens we experienced in Japan- don’t miss the incredibly comfortable individual outdoor baths. Great location walking distance to the cable car.
The piped music throughout the hotel is a bit incongruous. Especially not necessary in the onsen.
Amazing place! I left a google review straight after checking out but thought should leave one here too. - beautiful room layout. - attentive and helpful staff. - loved the onsen and how much individual options there are. - great breakfast! - lots of free perks.
None.
Onsen privati

Location is amazing with just a 10mins walk to the ropeway. Property is big with plenty of facilities
Old, sometimes dingy.
Property looked a little rundown but it was ok as they are clean and neat. Free wine, afternoon tea with scones, free flow coffee machines, game boards, free ice cream… and the onsen. Nothing to complain about.
Nothing. Room access are using keys, not those card type but was ok.
Stunning hotel and very close to the cable car
Liten butikk i resepsjonen.
Výborně snídaně a večeře.
The pajamas they provide are polyester and not very comfortable. For the price they charge I would’ve expected something nicer like cotton.
Love the private onsen
Rigid dinner menu
This place is exceptional! I’ve traveled all over Japan, and my solo stay here was one of my best onsen lodge experiences, especially for the price. My room was spacious with a view of the mountains. So quiet that it wasn’t a problem for me to sleep with the window cracked. In-room amenities include delicious whole bean coffee with a hand grinder. Both dinners were delicious. Varied appetizers, super fresh sashimi (including scallops and uni) crab and other delicious dishes including a hot pot with fish, mushrooms and greens. The breakfast buffet is varied, with something to satisfy everyone who’s not looking for a western style breakfast. The onsenl water leaves your skin silky soft. Perfect temperatures for the large outdoor rotenboro, cold plunge, and dry sauna. For couples there are three private onsen rooms. It’s a 10 minute walk to the ropeway that puts you in an alpine setting with extraordinary views and multiple hiking options. There’s no one here who speaks good English, but that’s what translation apps are for. I found all of the staff to be helpful and accommodating.
One critique : the piped music was sometimes annoying. Orchestral arrangements of quasi film score music from the 60s and 70s play nonstop in the restaurant and onsen. The dance inspired numbers and sometimes over the top bombast can break the mood. How about some light classical in the restaurant or shakuhachi in the onsen?
The staff are very friendly and try to make your stay comfortable. It was also not crowded despite going in late June/early July - I was in the onsen by myself! There are also some complimentary small gestures during the stay which were a nice touch - tea selection in the afternoon, wine in the evening, ramen for a late evening snack, and ice cream post onsen. The hotel is also well-located near the Asahidake ropeway, very convenient if you plan to do some hiking. Good selection for breakfast and nice omakase for dinner. The rooms are also very spacious. There is also a convenience store onsite which has drinks, snacks and other small items
Just be aware that the dinners are set menus so they can’t really make adjustments if you have dietary requirements. For example, if you are vegetarian and the dish has meat, you will just skip that course. The property can also be refreshed with a fresh coat of paint (esp the exterior) but the staff still keep it clean and comfortable. The mattress wasn’t hard but is on the firm side
walking distance to volcano
property a bit run down
Meals were excellent.
Beautiful decor and cosy. Onsen is great. Room is spacious and well equipped.
Near to the ropeway
None at the moment
Location
Very dated - needs upgrades - considering the price- not flexible with providing lunch box or breakfast box to go.
Breakfast is great, the omakase dinner is excellent, too. The facilities (and area) is dated but the rooms are spacious and amenities (free snacks, ramen, scones, tea, wine, ice cream) are great. Plus it’s in a remote area that is serene.
So much to do within the property from private baths to free drink time!
Booking.com was not accurate compared to what was actually booked in, beware that your meal might not be what you expect!
The food was outstanding, the onsen was amazing, and the staff couldn’t be friendlier. I would have stayed longer if I could.
Nothing
The staff were wonderful and exceptionally helpful. The food was really good and diverse. We really enjoyed the private onsens.
Parts of the building are showing some wear and tear of a harsh mountain environment.
The breakfast provided a good choice. The staff were helpful and kind and the dinners were excellent.
Nothing to complain about
Super helpful staff, helped us with understanding the weather information for the cable car. Lovely course dinner and breakfast. The buffet was a super spread. Rooms were cozy and came with a drip coffee maker and beans. Pre-dinner snacks were tasty. Onsen was clean and enjoyable. It's a premium pricing, which feels normal across all the properties in the area, but all the food and amenities included makes it feel quite worth it! A short 10 min walk to the National Park Visitor Centre/cable car entrance.
Nothing! Wished we arrived earlier to enjoy the space.
