Hotel Schatten

Loved our room. We opted for a twin room to save some money and it was perfect - it was by no means a smaller room! It was clean and spacious with a huge bathroom. Plenty of room for our luggage. Tea making facilities and a fridge included in the room which was ideal for us. Great breakfast. Good location with lots of restaurants and a bakery nearby. About a 30/40 minute walk into the main town of Garmish.

Transparency on parking could be better. There is a small number of spaces infront of the hotel. If those are taken, you will need to find on-street parking around the hotel. We were able to find free parking but in the busy summer, guests should expect to pay to stay in the hotel underground parking. It was priced at 9€ a day.

Das Zimmer war sehr groß und hell, verfügte über einen Kühlschrank, ein großes Bad mit Dusche und WC sowie einen sehr schönen, großen Balkon mit Blick auf die Berge und war picobello sauber. Die Lage im Zentrum von Partenkirchen war sehr gut, nur als Bahnreisende war der Weg zu Fuß von/zum Bahnhof mit Gepäck durch die gepflasterten Wege nach einer langen Reise etwas ermüdend. Aber bestimmt gibt es auch einen Bus, da in der Nähe des Hotels eine Bushaltestelle war. Da wir aber froh waren, nach der langen Zugfahrt etwas Bewegung zu haben, sind wir gelaufen. Das Frühstücksbuffet war deutlich mehr als erwartet. Es gab eine reichhaltige Auswahl mit verschiedenen Brötchen und Brot, süßen und herzhaften Belagsvarianten, Rührei und gekochte Eier, Bratwürstchen und Speck, verschiedene Cerealien und Joghurt und auch neben normaler Milch Alternativen für alle, die keine Kuhmilch verwenden, .... und vermutlich habe ich jetzt auch einiges vergessen. ;-) Das Personal war supernett und hilfsbereit. Ich kann dieses Hotel wirklich empfehlen.

The staff were nice and very welcoming. The bed was very comfortable (at least for me ;) Amazing view and great location! I rented a bike just near the hotel and cycled through the valley all the way to Lake Eibsee. Amazing ride! Great journey :)

Für den Preis war das Frühstück zu einfach. Die Deko mit Plastik Blumen ist eher nicht so ansprechend.

I loved the location of this hotel, right on the edge of the forest, close to beautiful walking paths and still only a 20 minute walk or bus ride from the centre and railway station. Cows live on this street, and you can hear their bells in the morning and afternoon when they move between barn and pasture. The hotel itself is beautiful, with great views and welcoming staff.

Das Hotel hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Schöne Lage mit Ausblick auf die Berge und zentral in Patenkirchen. An der Rezeption wurden wir sehr freundlich empfangen.

Restaurant war leider noch geschlossen. Soll aber scheinbar wieder eröffnet werden, damit man hier auch abends essen kann.

Das Zimmer war sehr groß und sauber. Der Ausblick war wunderschön. Die Lage war super. Wir waren rundum zufrieden.

Seems overpriced for what you get. Old rooms. Paid about EUR 15 extra for breakfast and the spread was really disappointing.

Frühstück, die Auswahl war mehr als genügend. Alles war frisch und der gesamten Familie hat es jeden Morgen geschmeckt. Das Zimmer hatte Fenster zur Straßenseite und morgens wurden immer Kühe mit Glocken auf die Weide gebracht was uns besonders gefallen hat. Das Hotel hat eine top Lage man kommt direkt auf Wanderwege und die Innenstadt und weitere Attraktionen sind über kurze Wege erreichbar. Direkt gegenüber ist ein Inder der original indisches Essen hat. Wenn wir wieder nach Garmisch kommen würden wir definitiv wieder dieses Hotel wählen.

Da fällt mir spontan nicht wirklich etwas ein.

Sehr schönes Gebäude, Zimmer sehr sauber

Das Frühstück war furchtbar. Kaffee in einem großen (5l?) Wärmebehälter. War nur lauwarm und hat geschmeckt, als ob er vom Vortag aufgewärmt wurde. Eine Dame hat es bemängelt und es wurde angeboten, die Mikrowelle zum erhitzen zu nutzen. Viele Sachen wurden nur auf Nachfrage aufgefüllt. Besteck teilweise nicht sauber, Zwischen 2 Tellern klebte eine Butter-Verpackung. Das kann verständlicherweise alles mal vorkommen. Aber nicht alles auf einmal.

Uns hat die Lage sowie die Ausstattung sehr gefallen. Zu den malerischen Straßen mit Restaurants sind es nur 2 Minuten. Zum Bahnhof sind es 20 Minuten, zur Bushaltestelle 5 Minuten. Der Blick vom Balkon auf die Berge war atemberaubend. Es gab auch die Möglichkeit, auf dem Balkon zu sitzen und zu liegen. Die Unterkunft war groß geschnitten, sodass alle genug Platz für sich hatten. Sauber war es auch.

Die Kissen könnten hochwertiger sein beziehungsweise müssten öfters getauscht werden. Sie waren etwas klumpig. Die Kommunikation mit der Rezeption war etwas komisch. Der Code für die spätere Einreise kam an, als wir schon in der Unterkunft waren. Gut, dass man für Notfälle direkt klingeln konnte. Die Garmisch Card ist nur für 3 von 4 Personen per E-Mail gekommen. Auf Ansprache sollte die fehlende noch einmal zugeschickt worden sein. Sie ist aber nie angekommen. Wir mussten vor der Öffnung der Rezeption abreisen. Später kam die Nachricht von Booking, dass wir den Aufenthalt nicht bezahlt haben und die Karte belastet wird. Wir haben aber am zweiten Tag bereits alles beglichen.

Zentrale Lage in Partenkirchen, mehre Wanderwege Restaurants/cafes und Supermarkt sind fußläufig Balkon mit schöner Aussicht Kostenloses abstellen von Fahrrädern in der tiefgarage

Nur die Balkon Zimmer haben eine schöne aussicht Rauchende Nachbarn Kein ventilator/kühlung Zimmerservice war unzuverlässig/nicht gründlich Anders als beschrieben gab es kein besteck (zwei Teelöffel sind nichts, was ich darunter fassen würde) Alles in die jahre gekommen Für den Preis von 150/nacht haben wir mehr erwartet

The view from the balcony is something extraordinary, enjoyed waking up to this view every morning and sipping my coffee. There was a church nearby that rang bells time to time which added to the aestheticness of it all. The rooms were very clean, staff was amazing. Very comfortable place.

Didn't have an AC. It was super hot summer days, so nights were very warm and it was hard to sleep. Also this is more personal matter but no bowls or plates were provided in the room, you had to wait till 8 am to get into the kitchen and get plates and forks for food, which was a complication for us because we had to leave at 7 am to go on a hike.

Отель расположен в старинном доме с расписными стенами, как и многие дома в Гармише в 15 минутах от центра, что лучше для тех, кто ищет тишины. Отдельно хотелось бы сказать о завтраке. За 15.50 он просто невероятный! Кроме стандартных сыра и колбасы, был очень вкусный горячий омлет, жареные сосиски и бекон. Свежие фрукты и десерты были очень кстати. Завтракать можно и на трассе внутри отеля. Очень рекомендую брать завтрак! Персонал очень приятный. Гостевая карта даёт скидки на достопримечательности.

Единственный по моему мнению недостаток это работа ресепшн только до 16.30. Но если вы опоздали, на почту приходит спецкод для открытия двери и доступа к номеру в любое время.

Everything was great, very friendly staff. They also have an underground garage that we used for the duration of our stay.

Top ontbijt. De koeien op de foto zijn geen AI, maar komen dagelijks voorbij gewandeld. Parkeergarage niet per se nodig tijdens ons verblijf, maar toch gedaan zodat de auto lekker koel bleef.

Het was heel warm en er was helaas geen ventilator waardoor het erg lastig was met slapen. Daarnaast had je ook geen mogelijkheid om het echt goed te koelen.

Personalas labai paslaugus, jų rekomenduota bavariška užeiga visiškai atitiko mūsų lūkesčius. Rekomenduočiau čia pasilikti bent dviem naktims ir aplankyti šalia esančius “spalvotus” miestelius. Pusryčiai gausūs jaukioje aplinkoje.

Super Unterkunft in ruhiger Lage. Das Zimmer und das Bad waren sehr groß und absolut sauber, die Betten bequem und der Balkon riesig mit bester Aussicht auf die umliegenden Berge. Man ist nicht weit vom Zentrum entfernt und fußläufig ist vieles schnell erreichbar. Pizzeria, Imbiss, Apotheke, Wanderwege, alles in der Nähe.

Ich war mit meiner Schwester das erste Mal dort. Wir wurden super herzlich empfangen! Die Aussicht vom eigenen Balkon war der absolute Hammer und das Zimmer absolut sauber mit sehr bequemen Betten :) Vielen Dank! Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Personal immer freundlich und nett. Mann fühlte sich von der ersten Minute willkommen. Die Lage mit Blick auf die Berge bis zur Zugspitze.

Zigarette smoke could be smelt everywhere, in the room with open door from neighbors sitting at their balconies, which was quite annoying; however, not the hotel's fault. Not a king bed mattress, 2 smaller mattresses put together with dip in the middle, strange for some, common in Germany, some bus driver's were rude and gave wrong information what seems to be on purpose. Given the heat wave, a fan would have been great as it was very hot and due to zigarette smell, could not always open doors.

Beetje jammer dat er geen airco was , . Dat kan natuurlijk niet overal . het was heel erg warm , een ventilator zou goed geweest zijn.

Personalet er meget behjælpelig og vi havde en fantastisk udsigt fra junior fyrstesuiten.

Cudowna lokalizacja i cisza. Bardzo czysto i wspaniały personel. Idealna lokalizacja.

Bra läge nära en mysig gata med flera restauranger. Trevlig personal och stort rymligt rum med fin utsikt. Hade allt vi behövde. Bra ordnat att man kunde använda köksutrustning även om de inte fanns frukostservering så kunde man enkelt fixa sin egen frukost.

Inget att klaga på, allt var enligt förväntningarna för vad som stod i boendes beskrivning när vi bokade.

No air conditioner or any fan during the most hot days. The cows living across the street start their day at 6 am. The noise from their neck bells wake you up from sleep.

Non ho apprezzato la troppa rigidità. Pochi minuti dopo aver completato la prenotazione, mi sono resa conto che la colazione non era inclusa. Ho immediatamente chiesto di poter disdire senza pagare la penale dell’80% e mi è stato risposto che non era possibile. Mi sono rassegnata ad una soluzione insoddisfacente per non perdere 560 euro. Ancora peggio aver scoperto che ad essere penalizzati sono solo gli ospiti che soggiornano fino al 30 giugno. Dovrebbe essere dedicata maggiore attenzione a particolari facilmente migliorabili: la doccia aveva depositi neri sul bordo del piatto e sul soffione; il frigo non raffreddava, neppure dopo l’intervento del receptionist; le sedie dello spazio esterno erano sfondate. I parcheggi privati, esterno ed al coperto, erano a pagamento. Per fortuna siamo riusciti a trovare posto in strada.

אין מזגן (ידוע) אבל היינו בגל חום ולא סיפקו אפילו מאווררים. מה שאומר שלא ניתן להיות בחדר , רק מאוחר בערב וגם אז החדר חם. החדרים שנמצאים על הרחוב רועשים. אנשים מדברים בקול רם ממש מתחת לחלון. כמו כן אין ארוחת בוקר.

Amazing location. Well connected to nearby restaurants and accessible to major tourist spot. Reception staff is very good and helpful. Rooms are big and well maintained. Alpine View from room is the best. Value for money.

Great location, close to everything by foot and still quiet. We had a great view from our balcony to the mountains. The staff was friendly and explained everything to us, including parking and the guest card. Would stay here again.

Location and view from the patio of the surrounding mountains. Staff was helpful although the hours were very limited, but I think that's just a German thing.

The breakfast offering was extremely limited. The unused restaurant and beer garten was a bit strange feeling.

Check in staff were great, helpful on sharing areas to visit etc. Room is a good size, and location was great for our purpose.

Unfortunately the stay was a disaster, not in 50 years have i stayed somewhere with people running up and down the hallways until 3 am each night, not once or twice but continuously. Hotel booked rooms with 5-6 young men who thought this was a youth hostel partying on the balcony until early morning hours yelling and partying. The shower valve seemed to have a mind of its own from hot to cod to hot again and again. The hotel staff are there from 8am-8pm after that it's a mad house and would NEVER stay there again. It's a hostel in disguise and run the same way.

Wir waren im September 24 schon mal im Hotel Schatten, da gab es noch ein reichhaltiges Frühstück. Dies war so schön.

Sensational view from our room out to the mountains. The room itself was fantastic, the bathroom was bigger than expected and the staff were extremely welcoming.

Lovely property with charm. We enjoyed the bakery pastries and coffee each morning and the short walk to the shops/restaurants. Our 1st floor comfort room also had some accessible features for a wheelchair user and a terrace.

Toen we aankwamen zei de personeel dat we twee kamer hadden gepland , ik had namelijk 1 kamer voor 3 personen geboekt. daarna had ik een appje gestuurd dat we met vier personen komen en dat vonden ze goed. Toen we daar aan kwamen moesten we dus voor twee kamer betalen, terwijl ik een kamer had gereserveerd. Ze gaven aan dat ik twee kamers had gereserveerd. ik probeerde dat uit te leggen maar ze deed eens geen moeite om uit tw laten praten, mevrouw ging helemaal schreeuwen. Echt niet proffessional.
