⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Awa Motel was honestly way better than we expected! We were so impressed with our stay and really didn’t want to leave. Everything was comfortable, welcoming and exceeded our expectations. We were actually sad that we couldn’t stay another night, but unfortunately all the rooms were fully booked. That definitely says something! 😂❤️ We will 100% be back, and next time we’ll be much more prepared to stay longer. We’re already looking forward to our next visit! Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable. Highly recommend Awa Motel! ❤️ x

They could have situated me in an empty cabin further from the tradies fixing up the other parts.

Stayed in the recently refurbished part of the motel (parts are currently closed for refurbishment and some are yet to be done). Big bathroom, huge shower and fantastic water pressure. Called for a late check in and clear instructions on how to locate keys. Lovely staff from reception to cleaners and cafe. Yummy coffee in the on-site cafe, perfect for a stroll along the waterfront just across the road. They also have on-site laundry which I didn't use but good to know for next time!

Only problem was trying to find room at night with noone on site. Although the property is well lit, maybe a map or directions on the check in info would help as the only stairs I found to the second floor were so far away from the room. Managed to find closer stairs the next morning though.

The bed was too hard for me.

I was upgraded to a cabin in their lovely cabin village, and that was so cool. It was modern, sleek, comfy and cosy. Warm, nice comfy bed and pillows. sky tv. Roomy shower. Lots of lemon trees i picked a few to take home. Near the beach and cafe next door. Plenty of towels. Nice soaps. Bottled water a nice touch. Cutlery and other kitchen wares, fully stocked. Theres a microwave but no cooking stove but we didnt need that.

A main light might be nice, but no biggy. Was overall very cool.

Te Awa is my absolute fav for when staying in Whakatane - particularly the old villas. Beautiful classic decor and the one bedroom had a classic clawfoot bath!

It may have been how far away from the main office we were, but the wifi was unstable at times.

Very tidy unit in the Microvillage. Everything I needed for a short stay. Good parking and easy walk to the Strand, beach, park etc. Very comfy bed, clean room.

A mix up with our accommodation, although we booked and paid. On our arrival, we were told our accommodation had been double booked to someone else. Very disappointing. Otherwise everything was fine 🙂

Beautiful location. I stayed in a villa, it was very modern, comfortable clean and private. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Fantastic stay, would definitely recommend this accommodation again and again.

The shampoo, conditioner, body wash dispensers! Really awkward to use. We got in late and tried our very best not to cause to much noise as not to disturb other guests, however the dispensers let us down with the noise they made when trying to acquire product.

One of the guys I booked for ending up going to stay somewhere else as he needed aircon. He said there was a fan, but it was too hot in the room.

Loved the property, we had a great weekend away staying here. Loved that it was so close to the wharf and the park, we could’ve stayed out there all day & night.

We loved everything, our housekeeping was missed but that was fine we just grabbed new towels from the front desk. There could’ve been aircon in the room but the fan provided was nice. Fridge and facilities were good great water pressure in the shower

A very nice motel , close walk to town , lovely cafe, close to pubs and restaurants. Sky channel's.Comfy bed.

It was very hot that day so air conditioning would have been nice. Parking is a bit tight but adequate , will probably upgrade on our next visit , we will return.

Rooms need natural ventilation for example having vertical vents that fit on side of door backed up with air conditioning because the room is too warm and stuffy especially in the summer.

We had an unexpected upgrade to the back villa, which is a stunning building that is part of the complex. We were there to celebrate our 48th wedding anniversary, so were made to feel very special! Fabulous atmosphere, friendly, welcoming staff. Great Cafe

The studio was spacious, well laid out, clean and tidy. The kitchenette was well equipped. The bed was super comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
