Welcoming. Home From home feel. Lovely little family room. Staff were so welcoming and helpful, we felt very looked after. Loved the live music and shanty night.

The front door a little noisy on busier evenings - more our problem as we were in bed early!

The double room was above the restaurant and the door to the kitchen didn't have a slow close, so was always banging when they were serving dinner or breakfast

My room was upgraded soon after my arrival, on their suggestion. I was moved to a large family room with a lovely view. The bed was huge and very comfortable, with very nice linen. Everything was exceptionally clean and with lots of hot water.for a bath. Breakfast was ordered the night before and my full English breakfast was lovely. Particularly outstanding was the friendliness of all the staff and the helpfulness and kindness that they showed at all times. The shanty music in the bar on the evening I stayed was great fun and perfect for a single traveller. Extra tea and coffee was available, if needed, on an upstairs landing area.

I would have quite liked a small packet of biscuits on the tea tray, but that is a very minor wish list!

The Anchor Inn is a wonderful place to stay, I can’t recommend it enough. It is cozy, beautiful space with incedible people running it. I’d give it 11/10 if I could.

Everything. Every single member of staff was absolutely lovely. Helpful and very kind. The room was perfect for our needs, the big bed was amazingly comfortable. We all slept very well. Breakfast was great. Location was fantastic for everything we had planned. Very nice place. Would 100% stay again. Amazing value for money. Thank you.

The only thing I didn't like was the damaged seal around the bath and shower, as it made me nervous to use things, incase the water got down the sides and damaged the building. A bit of maintenance to the bathroom, would be ideal.

Good location, friendly staff, nice bar with pool table and darts. Free parking at the Inn. Breakfast was good although coffee was awful. Evening meal was ok, the pea burger was disappointing but staff quickly rectified and gave a small discount on the food. Room was good and nice powerful shower.

Get a decent coffee machine!

The maintainance is good, Hygiene and best place to stay. Rooms are tidy and Mountain View and food is excellent with live music

We stayed three nights and at the last minute decided to take our two yr old granddaughter with us. I had to phone to see if they could accommodate her in the double room that we had booked, thankfully there was no problem, they put a small campbed in the room , I was really impressed with the fact they were able to accommodate our request so easily. The room was big, clean and comfortable, the only thing that would have helped us further would be a mini fridge in the room! The staff were all lovely, friendly, helpful and polite!

Unfortunately the breakfast was not good at all On the second morning of our stay the breakfast was frankly indedible, swimming in grease and not cooked properly at all, so much so that I didn’t bother going down for breakfast on the third morning because the previous day the small amount that I’d eaten caused me to feel sick for hours

Schöner unkomplizierter Umgang, nette Zimmer zu vernünftigen Preisen. Fahrräder übernachten sicher auf Terrasse. Nachtessen war fein und auch das Frühstück war ausgezeichnet.

Im Speisesaal kann es recht laut werden...ist wahrscheinlich bautechnisch begründet...

Una nota a loro favore è sicuramente lo staff, molto gentile e garbato.

Per noi è stato solo un posto di passaggio per la notte, ma le stanze sono veramente in cattive condizioni, la moquette è sporca, macchiata e rovinata, i soffitti hanno macchie di muffa ovunque, il bagno presentava la ventola completamente intasata dalla polvere e non era nemmeno molto pulito. La colazione scarsa ma con piatti caldi a disposizione su richiesta.

The evening meal was terrible and such poor service from the staff. My food arrived cold with half the teams missing. I had no bacon in my burger and no onion rings as described on the menu. Terrible service and when I asked for ketchup, it never arrived. I skipped breakfast given my evening meal experience.

Location was great and the staff were nice

Breakfast, bacon and sausage were overcooked (nearly burnt) on Saturday. On Sunday the poached egg was inedible. Bedside lamp did not work (staff informed on leaving). Despite the curtains having blackout linings, the sun shone through the window from 6:30 and I had to sleep facing the wall with the duvet over my head. A blackout blind in the window recess would stop this. Nearly all the staff were really nice and friendly.

It had everything you needed and friendly staff, the room was clean and in a good location for a base to explore, we only stayed 1 night as it was a pit stop for us but perfect

Stanza luminosa e spaziosa

Well situated for a few days exploring the ruggedly beautiful Hartland peninsula. Our family room was spacious and the main double bed was comfortable. The hotel provides free parking and the breakfasts (which you choose the night before) were very good. Shout out for the excellent poached eggs! There was live music both nights of our stay which we enjoyed and the Sunday roast is recommended. The Anchor Inn has a friendly, laid back vibe and is ideal for walkers. We ordered packed lunches for one of our walks which was really convenient. Very good value for money.

A small thing - the sofa beds for the children were quite hard but fine for a couple of nights.

Bell'atmosfera all'arrivo, locale strapieno con musica dal vivo. Camere spaziose. Letti comodi. Vista sui campi con le mucche al mattino. Abbiamo cenato nel locale, con grande fame e grande soddisfazione. Colazione buona.

Le bambine hanno faticato a prendere sonno nella stanza proprio sopra il live, poco insonorizzata; la musica è finita verso mezzanotte. Se viaggiate con bimbi meglio verificare se è prevista musica. Nel bagno avevamo una vasca non chiusa benissimo dal paravento, è scesa un po' d'acqua sul pavimento ma per una notte non è stato un problema.

Das Personal war freundlich und das Essen gut. Wir hatten das Glück an einem Shanty-Abend unter lauter Einheimischen teilnehmen zu dürfen

Das Frühstück war nichts besonderes, der Frühstücksraum ziemlich lieblos. Der Abzug der Küche ging an unserem Fenster vorbei, aber um ca. 9:30 pm war meistens Schluss mit dem Getöse. Am Nachttisch bzw. in der Nähe war keine Steckdose. Wir hatten Glück und es war immer ein Parkplatz am Pub frei, manchmal war es wirklich der letzte. Wir hätten nicht gewusst, wo wir uns sonst hätten hinstellen sollen. Parkplätze gibt es hier absolut keine.

Lichte kamer met mooi uitzicht. Goed eten in de pub met terras. Aardige bediening daar.

Bed was smal en te kort voor mij (1.94 m). Vlekken in vloerbedekking en op plafond.

We stayed on a Sunday night and there was live music. which for us, was a bonus. Authentic local feel and an excellent Sunday roast. Our room for family of 4 was spacious and the beds were comfy.

Bathroom needed a little touch up.

We arrived 15 minutes late for the kitchen and they would not serve us while people were still eating. After a long days walk that was a little disappointing. The rooms were good and breakfast was good but we had to go out to have dinner

Spacious room. Very friendly staff. Good food options for evening meals. Breakfast included in the room price which was excellent. We were there on a Wednesday when their is a Shanty night. This was excellent and created a brilliant atmosphere in the pub. Nice rooftop seating area to take advantage of tye nice weather.

We didn't mind, but music could be heard from the pub late on and early morning.

Lo que indico a continuación son cuestiones que simplemente me hubiera gustado que hubieran sido mejores. Problemas iniciales para poder aparcar en el hotel. El tamaño de las habitaciones, sin espacio en el baño para dejar los articulos de aseo, ni disponer de un pequeño escritorio. Habitaciones en un primer piso a que se accede por una escalera estrecha. Las cortinas no son suficientes para atenuar la luz que entra al amanecer.

Location is really nice. Hartland is a quiet, quaint and pleasant place. The mussels were as good as any previous. Was tempted to have then as a starter as well the second night, but they had run out. The shanty singing from the bar was delightful

First night dinner service was very slow. Understaffed. Both nights came in after several other groups, so were at the back of a queue!! The irish/scottish/american folk singing was unimpressive

Really great location in the middle of the village with the pub downstairs and plenty of parking, but also didn't get disturbed by any noise from the pub. Friendly welcome, and great food and service in the pub as well. Hartland Quay and Clovelly a short drive away, and fantastic walks on the coast path all around the area.

Netter Empfang, Formalitäten waren schnell erledigt, schönes Zimmer im ersten OG. Alles wie beschrieben, Blick ins Grüne. Abendessen auf der Terrasse, sehr gut. Später mit anderen Gästen Fußball WM im Pub gesehen, sehr gepflegt und ruhig. Zimmer sauber, Bäder ordentlich, Fön liegt im Flur zum mitnehmen bereit. Bettwäsche und Handtücher waren im Preis mit dabei (stand bei Booking.com anderes zu lesen). Sehr ruhige lage, Parkplatz hinterm Haus, haben wir zu spät gesehen, gibt aber gebührenfreien Parkplatz im Dorf, zu Fuß keine 10 Minuten. Frühstück wird morgens nach Wunsch und Wahl serviert.

Its an old establishment so was quite loud in the room. We could hear the pool table and every conversation in the bar from our room at the top of the stairs.

We stayed in this nice village inn on a recent walk on the coast path. Everything was lovely, from the super warm and friendly welcome, the comfy bed, lovely view over the valley to fields in the distance, excellent food, and a good bathroom.

We arrived after a wet day’s walking and the staff went over and above to help us get our kit dry before setting off the following morning.

The welcome was wonderful, and so were all the staff and locals. A busy pub and lots going on there! Rooms were very clean, and so was the bathroom, but the shower tray would fill to the top, so you had to turn it off and let it drain away before you could finish your shower.

Towels were minimal and smelled a bit as if they had been left in the washing machine. Clean but a bit disappointing. Food was a bit disappointing. We both had fish & chips, and the batter was so overcooked I had to eat it with my hands for fear of the mess I'd make if I had tried to cut into it. This meant the fish was very dry inside. The crumble was delicious. The conti breakfast was very underwhelming.

Wonderful vibe, lots going on. Friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable and quiet room. Large terrace made a lovely place for outside drinks. Evening meals very good. Excellent location for walking and not far from places to visit.

It's a very nice place in the middle of Heartland, warm and cosy atmosphere, good food, nice musical pub in the afternoon, nice terrace for a drink, comfortable bedroom with nice view on countryside. And a great full British breakfast's experience. What else??

The owners of the Anchor Inn couldn’t do enough for us thank you so much and Laura was amazing at front of house, would highly recommend. Great atmosphere in the pub too and excellent roast and pudding.

Rooms bright and spotlessly clean with lovely views. Front of house staff were exceptional particularly Laura at dinner service. Very good for a budget friendly pub accommodation. Pub has good 'pub food' and authentic atmosphere. Breakfast was good. Lift to south west coast path much appreciated.

There was nothing. not to like, Hartland itself doesnt have much in the way of shops etc. but that was fine as we were explofing the local area and just needed a clean comfortable room and some good food

Great bar hotel! We had a comfortable two-bedroom room with everything we needed. The staff were absolutely wonderful—very friendly and always helpful. The bar is cozy with a great selection of drinks and a very warm, homely atmosphere. The breakfast was tasty and filling, a perfect start to the day. Overall, we were very happy with our stay and would gladly come back again.

Unfortunately, we only stayed there for one night.
