The Lantern Resorts Patong

I stayed here for 12 nights with my son in seperate rooms.He was on the third floor and i was on the ground floor. The ground floor was quite noisy to be fair. Let me start with the positives. The cleaning was exceptional they did a great job especially Neme who did my room every day. The staff on the front desk are very friendly,helpful and professional. Now the negatives.. Not enough sunbeds around the ground floor pools and no bar to order a drink or food/snacks. Upstairs pool very dated and boring. No bar. To the rear of the hotel if you have a back room overlooks a dumping ground. All this could be easily cleared up and made into a public area with a bar,pool tables,benches and sunbeds. The location is on top of a very,very busy street with lots of dangerous traffic and litter and bad smells everywhere. Now the worst bit there are huge rats in the area in front of the reception which come out in the day. This may be the reason that they loads of cats wandering around the hotel area. The free breakfast is on the second floor of the restaurant/cafe at the front of the hotel and is very poor. We went once and then avoided it for the rest of the holiday. Finally the whole exterior of the building could be freshened up with a lick of paint. Sadly we wont be returning.

We ended up staying at the Lantern Hotel unexpectedly after our original hotel booking — confirmed and paid via Booking.com — was not honoured on arrival. This meant we had to find accommodation at short notice in high season and unfortunately pay over twice what we had originally planned. That situation is currently being taken up with Booking.com and was not the fault of the Lantern Hotel. Once we arrived, however, our experience at the Lantern was very positive. The hotel is right in the heart of Patong, with everything easily accessible, yet we had no issues at all with noise. Our room was comfortable and well maintained, and the Wi-Fi worked reliably throughout our stay. Despite the stressful start to the day, we ended up having a very enjoyable stay here. The location, comfort and overall experience were excellent, and we would happily recommend the Lantern Hotel to others visiting Patong.

Wai the guy from receptionist he was so helpful and very understanding i can tell the he's one of the best people that have a good customer service skills. Room with balcony was great. And the price is affordable.

Have stayed more than 10 times at this hotel and as usual, the staff & service are excellent. Only complaint that I have for this trip is that the mattress in my room was slightly lumpy and too soft. As a result, I suffered from lower back pain for quite a few days. I will stay again in this hotel when I go back to Phuket, if the rates are still good.

Hotel was nice and comfortable. The staff were friendly. However the breakfast at the time was not great, most cakes were stale and other food was cold or warm, didn't feel fresh. That being said there was staff cooking omlettes at your choice which helped as we didn't go hungry. Additionally the coffee was good too. Overall I would recommend hotel based on rooms service and location (location is absolutely amazing and from what I remember it was jot noisy at all considering we were in the heart of it) but I would say until improved avoid breakfast unless you are happy to fill yourself up on omlettes.

Lantern Resort is the go-to hotel for me whenever I am in Phuket, Patong. Firstly, staff in the hotel are really nice and they made you felt welcome each time you stepped in the hotel. Be it front desk, F&B team or housekeeping. They greet you each time you walk pass by them. Main reason I love staying here is because of spacious room, ideal location for those who like to shop (just beside the hotel) and partygoers which is just across the road to the popular Bangla road. And for those Muslim travellers, just below the hotel at the Soi Sansabai , a whole stretch of halal restaurants which can be easily accessible. Thank you Lantern Resort for always being the go-to hotel for me whenever I am in Patong !

Excellent hotel in downtown location within walking distance of anything a traveler needs. Clean room and great breakfast with good hours (7-11am for those who get up early and sleep late)... super fast wifi that always worked during my stay.

Check-in time was 3:00 PM, yet we were only allowed into our room at 4:10 PM. To make matters worse, we had booked a room with two separate beds, but were given one with a king bed instead. We then had to wait another 30 minutes while housekeeping came to separate the beds in front of us — hardly the welcome we were expecting. The bed cover they provided had a visible stain, which we had to request to be changed. Totally unacceptable for any hotel, let alone one that promotes itself as a resort. One of the key reasons we chose this hotel was the rooftop pool, which was advertised as open and operational online. Upon arrival, we were informed it was out of service — with no prior notice and no update on the booking platforms. Very misleading. Despite our multiple concerns, the hotel staff offered nothing more than a basic apology. No compensation, no gesture of goodwill — nothing. In a destination like Phuket, where guest satisfaction and hospitality are key differentiators, this experience was deeply disappointing. I definitely do not recommend this hotel. They need to do better in such a competitive market.

When travelling with friends location is key and this hotel hits the mark. Its 2 min walk to bangla road and 5 min walk to the beach. Outside hotel you have immediate access to various restaurants, fruit juice stalls, atm machines, currency exchange, travel excursion offices, 7/11, massage shops and much much more. The hotel rooms were very spacious, clean and comfortable. The reception staff were incredibly polite and accomadation. They showed great hospitality during our stay. This would be my go to hotel if I came back with friends to phuket.

Great place as always. Reception staff friendly, helpful and very patient, lots of fun and they make the place a 5* from me. I'd injured my back and arrived a day early. No problem. They extended my stay, gave me the room I like and moved all my bags. Housekeeping are good at what they do. The bedroom was kept clean and neat. The restaurant is also good and the lady who makes eggs for breakfast is a lovely person, full of humour and always helpful, as are the other staff. The food is good as well. Laundry service good if a tadge expensive but it saved me making the effort. The location is one of the reasons I stay. 3 mins from Jung Ceylon and food and coffee, 4 mins from Central with its excellent food hall and 3 floors of shopping, 4 mins from crazy Bangla, 6 mins from the sea and 12 mins to the Immigration office if you want to extend your visa... would I stay again? Yes, it's excellent

The front office staff were courteous, friendly and professional. Always a delight to deal with them. Location of hotel is very convenient and it’s a short walk to dining, drinks, shopping, massage, etc. Can’t recommend highly enough. Keep up the great work!

The bed and room is super comfortable, large, clean. The staff are absolutely amazing and allowed me to have a later check out. When I asked about the door not locking, the staff actually came in and demonstrated how to lock it. They were so polite and helpful. Perfect location and wonderful service. We will be back.

Great location in terms of dining and shopping. It's also a short walk to the clubs and pubs of Bangla Road, if one is so inclined. Hotel is clean, comfortable and the staff are all very nice and courteous. Hotel rates are also value for money. Would definitely recommend to anyone going to that part of Phuket. Do note that the beach is probably about a 15 min walk though.

The entire hotel's vibe , environment, cleaniness & location is great, just a 3 minutes walk to Jungceylon and close by to the beach and Bangla Road . Quiet rooms as its tuck away from the party street. Making it a value for money stay for our holiday in Phuket. The Lantern Hotel is great! Good location. Close to all the of the fun and the beach. It also has a 7/11 across the street. The staff are really friendly and the breakfast was good. The hotel rooms are very clean and comfortable both pools were great!

Fah Som Bao and all staff really good here!! The room so clean and house keeper greeting us every morning, restaurant staff so nice It’s the best place for spend time with family and friends, I definitely back for next time !! Lovely Phuket Lovely Patong

Room was big and spacious. Hotel over all was quite nice. However bedsheets and towels had some stains on them when clean. General housekeeping of the room could do with some improvement. I would still recommend and I would stay there again.

Hotel is literally 1/2 block from Patong Beach Walking Street. Close to action, restaurants and shopping. Didn't like: my original room reeked with smell of cigarette smoke in non-smoking room. Following day they assigned me a room floor above. Much better but still some smell of smoke. They allow guests to smoke out in the balcony. How many smokers are going to obey that! Non-Smocking room should be Totally NO Smoking! Even the hallways and elevators smelled of strong smell of cigarette.

Great stay. Clean , quiet , spacious. Well located. Just one problem. Everything in the room looked clean and great but the leather lounge look worn and shabby which just made the room feel bad . I think damaged furniture should be removed or in this case a nice fitted lounge cover would have worked … otherwise the room was great .

Stayed at the Lantern Resort for 10 days and everything was ok for the most part. However DO NOT eat the food from room service! Although breakfast, which is provided as a buffet was good, the food from room service was not. I felt discomfort in my stomach after 1 meal I ordered, then on the last day i ordered a simple club sandwich and I got food poisoning after eating it. I had to go to the hospital and I finished taking the antibiotics and other medicine prescribed to me and the problem STILL exists 2 weeks after I checked out!

Big spacious room, clean and quiet. Walking distance to shopping mall and Bangla Rd.

The breakfast was cold by the time we ate at 9.45am and the only thing warm was the scrambled egg we ordered to cook. The location was acceptable, close to Jungceylon, and the room was clean. Disappointed that Housekeeping didn’t allow us extra bottled water; only 2 bottles per day.

This property does have a great hotel room but do not plan to sleep. You will hear music playing loudly until at least 3am, people screaming and yelling and complete chaos until around 7am.

We got the pool access room and it was very nice to be able to open the door and the pool is there. Very close to the hotel massage 300bt for 1 hour, hotel is right in the middle of everything Patong. 10 mins walk to beach or 5 mins walk to the popular night life . One thing to note is that the music won’t stop til 3 am if you’re planning on staying here. Staffs are very friendly.

The manager is always very helpful and I have stayed here over maybe 7-10 times! and just booked again for Feb 2020.

I stay at the lantern every time i go to Phuket. They always have the best prices for what you get. It's right around the corner from everything you need. And far enough away from the loudness of party road. I will always stay here whenever i come back.

You get everything you need in your trip. You have umbrellas,slippers,towels,kettle,hair dryer,free water,free tea bags&coffee. The breakfast buffet was good and enough. The staff was so friendly especially JEAB.

Really enjoyed our stay at The Lantern, stayed in a balcony room for 6 nights, clean modern large room, great huge bed, excellent aircon, double glazed windows kept most noise out. Being in amongst bars there is noise but thats to be expected being where it is.

Convenient location. walking distance to everywhere you might in Patong, hotel is well maintained, modern and clean. Staff are super helpful as well. Definately will stay here again when I'm back in Patong.

I have visited here on a large number of occasions and always go back to the same property due to its fantastic location to everything.

Good service and very good location.

I stayed here for 4 days in a 2 bedroom suite. Hotel is above average but pretty basic and plain. Check in was a breeze, they gave us each a glass or orange juice upon arrival. Pool is located on the roof. Decent size and you can order food and drink up there if you like. We did it one afternoon. It was pretty good. I stayed on the first floor. Noise really wasn’t an issue. Be sure not to lose a key or they will charge you. They will also inspect the room before you check out to make sure all the dishes are still there and the number of towels. If they find something missing they will charge you. I purchased the breakfast buffet one morning. It was pretty good and worth the money.

No where near worth the money. The hotel condition is very poor and the front deskt staff are not friendly or welcoming at all. There was puke in one of the swimming pool. Hope you like load heavy metal music till 3 in the morning every night! Dont bother with this hotel , its worth 2 stars maybe 3 at most.

First of all, Hotels.com cancelled my booking without informing me what so ever. I had to wait 4hours for them to relocate me to another hotel. Therefore they relocated me to this Lantern resort hotel. When I got to to the hotel front desk, the staffs are so unfriendly and don’t feel like to assist. I called front desk for toilet paper once, and the staff answered “AGAIN?” Which this shows a really bad service from them. Lastly, the room is so noisy because it’s too close to the bar.

Good location, bad noise! Every night til 4:30am - yes, 4:30am, the loud music won’t stop around the area. We asked the reception and they are aware of this and agreed to change to another side of their hotels, but took them “2 days” to figure out whether they have spare room and moved us over, which means 3 nights we were awake until 4:30am, finally we got one night to the “better room”, but unfortunately it’s still loud (slightly better). The manager simply said it’s not their responsibility, and blamed the surroundings. They also agreed to “consider” installing double glaze - surprisingly they only realised now. Overall, the location is good, it’s close to most of the areas, but services are so so, breakfast is boring (not fresh at all), and if u are a light sleeper, please avoid this hotel.
