Bathroom could do with a revamp. If a bit more money was spent on the bathroom / room they could easily charge more and make the money back.

Plauso speciale all’host Pablo e alle sue collaboratrici, che sono stati gentilissimi, premurosi ma mai invadenti. Consigliatissimo per un soggiorno a Salta, anche per la posizione centralissima ma tranquilla.

Si bien la pieza tiene buenas dimensiones, sería de utilidad que las mesas de luz tuvieran algún estante o cajón o que hubiera un escritorio pequeño que pudieran servir como superficie para apoyar elementos

La habitación se calefacciona por aire acondicionado frio calor, tarda un poco en lograr buena temeratura, no llega al baño, el equipo hacía algo de ruido. En la recepción y zona de desayuno hay un fogón a gas cuya combustión no tiene buen tiraje y se siente el olor de mala combustión

The rooms have had an upgrade relatively recently and are tastefully if simply decorated. The bathrooms could do with an upgrade but are clean and functional and it was nice to have a bath. It’s very close to the main square with all its restaurants & was a very convenient place to stay. All in, nice place & nice people!

Reviewed Apr 14, 2026Nettes, sehr kleines Hotel in einem historischen Gebäude, zu Fuß in fünf Minuten ins Zentrum, Personal extrem freundlich und zuvorkommend, spricht sehr gut englisch, große Zimmer mit AC, riesiges Doppelbett, sicherer Parkplatz (gebührenpflichtig) direkt nebenan auch für größere Autos geeignet (z.B. Pickup), gutes Frühstück (frisches Obst, Brot, Toast mit Rührei, Schinken, Käse, Yoghurt, etc.) wird einzeln auf Bestellung serviert.
Pool und Patio winzig und wenig einladend, Zimmer etwas düster, Duschbad deutlich veraltet und renovierungsbedürftig, Dusche schmuddelig (Vorhang fleckig, defekt, schimmelig, feuchte Wände, Putz blättert ab).

Reviewed Apr 1, 2026Wir hatten einen sehr schönen Aufenthalt im Hotel del Virrey. Der Service war sehr gut. Wir wollten unseren Aufenthalt verkürzen, damit wir eine Nacht in Jujuy übernachten konnten und das Hotel war dabei sehr entgegenkommend. Uns wurde auch Frühstück vor der eigentlichen Frühstückszeit zubereitet, da die Touren nach Jujuy sehr früh morgens starten. Gute Restauranttips gab es auch! Das Hotel ist sehr schön und die Zimmer sind schön modern eingerichtet. Die Badezimmer sind zwar alt, aber sauber.

Reviewed Mar 30, 2026Great location for exploring the sites of Salta. We stayed in Suite No 1 on the ground floor facing the street. The room was large, the bed and pillows were very comfortable. The bathroom was large with a good over bath shower. There is secure off road parking available, although the entrance is very narrow. The breakfast was very good. The staff were friendly and the process of checking in and out was prompt.

Not a huge problem but I had selected the hotel for its pool - but it was really just a plunge pool and you couldn’t swim in it. Would have been good to be a little clearer about this.

Bathroom.... Feels like it is original from the colonial times. Window had no bars, as the rooms are located on the ground floor, we could not leave it open for safety reasons. And the parking is billed at an extortionate 10.000 ARS per night!
