Friendly staff and a lovely old farmhouse.

Being so old, there are steep spiralling steps up to most of the bedrooms. However, this was not an issue for us.

Breakfast excellent and staff kindly and helpful.the room was very nice and overlooked the front of the property. Plenty of hot water and the shower was good. The bed was comfortable for us. The hotel is run by people who really go out of their way to make you comfortable. We really appreciated the parking too.

I liked the nice large room. Big breakfast. I loved that it was table service and not a buffet. .

It was quite cold in the bathroom especially.

We were very warmly welcomed and looked after. The breakfast was superb - homecooked to perfection. Our room was spotless and very comfortable; although a little dated, that just added to the charm.

The shower could have been considerably more powerful, perhaps an actual power shower?

It was all fine though decor felt a bit dated but that's a matter of taste & it was all clean & presentable. Hill was steep but as expected.

One night for the weekend I WOULD DEFINITELY STAY HERE AGAIN LOVELY B&B FRIENDLY STAFF NICKY VERY OBLIGING AND HELPFUL. 5 STARS.

Lovely clean room in a very nice old farmhouse, the hosts were very friendly. Location is at the top of a steep hill but it's easy to walk down to town and the bus is every 30 minutes and runs until 11.30 . Free parking

Lovely place to stay you can leave your car at the b&b and walk down to the town centre in no time it's a ideal place to stay in Dartmouth .

Beautiful building inside and out. The photos really dont do it justice! The hosts accommodated our latest arrival and were kind and helpful. Bedroom was really quiet despite close to a main road. Bathroom was huge with an overhead shower. Excellent value for money.

Hele vriendelijke mensen, ruime kamer, zeer goed verzorgd ontbijt. Ondanks dat het aan de weg ligt is het rustig 's nachts door de dikke muren en kon het raam openblijven. Op loopafstand van het centrum van Dartmouth, maar een steile klim terug! Er is wel een bushalte voor de deur. Parkeren op eigen terrein.

De leidingen zijn oud, je hoort het doortrekken van de wc in andere kamers

Lovely B&B set in a very old farmhouse. Owners were friendly, great breakfast, comfy room and parking. 15 min walk into Dartmouth…. Harder on way up with hill, but believe there’s a bus that stops just outside.

Steep hill up to the hotel but we were aware of that before booking The room was very warm due to the hot weather, we were provided with a fan as soon as we asked for one.

The breakfast offerings were excellent and our hosts were very friendly and obliging. The room was very comfortable.

The walk back from town was too difficult for me as I have torn glute muscles. The bus is supposed to run every half hour but the bus went at 6.15 and then not again till 8 o'clock.

The single room and bed was just too small for my liking, next to the fire escape Not enough hooks on the wall/door to dry towels properly, two hooks aligned horizontally on the back of the door and in the bathroom would help to spread towels out. Loved the town..to get back to the property the hill was a killer..I know there were buses..but on both occasions we walked..threw lack of knowledge whouldent do it again..

The hill...the fella who served breakfast was nice..but his partner..dident speak to us .even when cleaning down the table after breakfast..

Felt like a quintessential English experience. Pictured don’t do it justice, it’s very quaint, clean, lots of character. Loved breakfast - don’t skip on it. Walk up the hill was manageable and was cool to explore the more quiet residential lanes of Dartmouth that I probably wouldn’t have seen if we were staying near the harbour. Lovely owners. Onsite parking major bonus.

No A/C so room got a little warm but not too bad. Hill walk would be challenging for someone with mobility issues (but there is a bus) Shampoo provided but no conditioner or body wash so prepare accordingly

Very clean and well appointed. Had a small outside area for just my room which was ideal with a dog.

Lack of cancellation policy but they were happy to change the dates. The original room I booked want dog friendly, this should not have come up in the search with filters on

The location is very convenient, with a bus stop right in front of the B&B, making it easy to get around. The breakfast was good, with plenty of choices available every morning. The bathroom was very nice, and the large shower was especially appreciated.

The thing I didn't like was that the towels were not changed, even after I asked. Honestly, at home I change my towels every day. When I go on holiday, I expect to be more comfortable and enjoy my stay even more than I do at home. After all, we paid to stay there, it wasn't a free stay. This has never happened to me before. Another issue was the bed sheets. They were quite worn out and were not fitted properly, which made the bed uncomfortable. They also made it feel even hotter during the night, making it difficult to sleep well. For these reasons, we will not be returning to this B&B.

Very friendly hosts. They managed to sort out a mix up as I thought the dogs were included as booking.com said it would let them know...but it never did! Wasn't their fault, they would've offered us a more suitable room if they knew the dogs were coming. The room we had was still very nice but didn't have access straight to outside , which couldn't be helped because of the circumstances. Was thankful they still managed to sort us a room out. Loved the character of the house, was charming .

For me the combination of friendliness, cleanliness, parking, being very pet friendly (not simply a case of 'pets allowed'..room choice was very very convenient for someone travelling with a dog (Room 9), bathroom facilities etc and overall location within Dartmouth, makes Townstall Farmhouse an excellent choice for me and my family. Being in such a characterful building is another bonus.

We enjoyed our stay very much. The staff & owners were very helpful & knowledgeable. The room we stayed in was very clean & tidy. The distance from the property to the harbour was just a few minutes away. We enjoyed our stay so much we are looking to book again for October.

The heating and hot water was off all night in the middle of winter and the customer service was poor

The room was very comfortable, especially the bed, my husband said it was the best night's sleep he has had away from home. We especially appreciated the jug of fresh milk in the fridge - we hate UHT! Breakfast was first rate, wonderful full English, great choice of alternatives if that's not your thing. Very friendly staff. So nice to stay somewhere with character.

Very little to fault really, as we would definitely stay again if in the area. It had been very cold weather before our visit and I think the room had been empty as we booked for the second weekend of January - the room took a while to warm up, we used the extra blanket provided so it wasn't an issue!

It could have been slightly closer to tge harbour and town centre rather than the top of a hill.

I liked the bed it for me was nice and soft the room and bathroom were very clean. The host was very nice. The breakfast was fresh and tasty.

Townstal Farmhouse is a lovely 16th century property. Very comfortable, spacious room and spotlessly clean. Delicious breakfast. The owners were very friendly, accommodating and helpful. Free parking on site. A walk down to Dartmouth with lovely views of the town and river but uphill coming back! Bus or taxi an option. A most enjoyable stay and we hope to return some time.
