Wonderful stay! Great staff. Friendly service. Great pool. Very clean and comfortable rooms. Secure and quiet location. Breakfast included. An oasis in the heart of Negril Westmoreland. I would definitely stay again.
This was an amazing stay ! Staff was wonderful and friendly. Owner Chris was so kind great guy was able to help me exchange. Housekeeping did a wonderful job! And the man who works there Tj was the biggest help . I would definitely recommend for families or solo travel . Nice pool and a playground for the kiddos. Chris wife makes beautiful hammocks you fall right asleep in. They have shuttles to the beach daily. But the west end is wonderful and right next to ricks cafe!
A fantastic little hotel on the cliffs. Great location, lovely atmosphere.
Love this property. Includes a sit down made to order breakfast. Walkable to other restaurants & "Ricks Cafe". You'll arrive as strangers & leave as friends.
Lady that checked us in was very friendly and process straightforward. Rooms were clean and beds very comfortable. Both rooms were supposed to have safes. One had no safe and the safe in the other room wasn't useable. Owner advised we could place monies, passports etc. in the lockable filing cabinet in the office. He said only him and his wife had access to this, which was incorrect, as when we needed monies and he and his wife were out, details for key location was given to a staff member. On another occasion, another member of staff knew exactly where the key was located. So not as secure as advised. Aircon system was quiet. Wifi good. Breakfast was good but more so in the American style – Cornmeal porridge was available and very tasty.
My stay was better than expected. The rooms are very clean, dining is very convenient and staff including owner for very nice. Definitely coming back.
Great food, great staf,f clean rooms. Definitely coming back
Need to be up grade especially the road to the property.
Seastar was awesome! The grounds, pool & our room were all very nice & comfortable. Pillows meh.
Great Value for the price, wonderful service & food! Love the pool and the hammocks! All around super property to stay! 🙂
the staff are amazing understanding easy going 🙌 and Chris 10 out of 10 service always 👏
Loved Seastar. Absolutely wonderful place to be
Great place for those who do not like busy resorts
I would stay here again. The owner is nice person the place is quiet staff are friendly. Walkable to rick cafe.
I’m sure this was a lovely property, but due to the economy and most likely the pandemic it is run down. It has potential to be beautiful, it just needs some money and love. The staff are great and sweet.
Nice place
It’s a very good place to relax very comfortable and quiet, the food is good the room I stay in is very big well cool… long story short I enjoyed it there surely will visit again soon and surely will recommend to family and friends 👍🏽, the only thing is missing is a little entertainment in the night but other wise it’s great
You won't be comfortable here. This is crawling with biting ants and endless mosquitoes in the rooms. Customer care service and even common courtesy is hard to come by here. The manager does not try to hide anything. Stay away if you want peace & comfort.
This property is located in a side street riddled with potholes off the main road. It is surrounded by trees with walking paths to each building where rooms are located. Some paths are inaccessible due to heavy silt/mud. The rooms are kept clean but is not impressive. The pictures online apparently reflect a better version of this place in times gone by.The wardrobe is in disrepair old and musty, could not unpack clothing. The kitchenette is bare with just an old mini fridge. There are no utensils or cups/plates. Could not reheat food purchased outside the premises as there is no microwave in the room or even a kettle. Travelled with infants and getting hot water for their tea was an inconvenience of having to leave rooms and head to the open dining area downstairs to use the restaurant’s kettle. The baths leaked, there were ants, roaches and lizards frequenting the rooms. We couldn’t watch tv or use internet based apps as the WiFi was weak. There is a pool table upstairs of the main dining area however that space is not maintained as it was dusty with old broken chairs and it looks more like storage. At one end of the property there is a trampoline and a small area with swings and a little slide for kids but that too is not quite operational. On a more positive note, the complimentary breakfast was excellent. The restaurant’s food was delicious. The pool was kept clean and house keeping came around everyday asking if we needed cleaning. Rick’s Cafe is close by 2-3mins drive.
Needs updating
The AC was good and keep me very cool love the space in the room very spacious
Really nice place
I really liked the chill vibe of this inn. It wasn't a luxury all inclusive but I wasn't looking for that. I was more like a retreat house with big comfy bedrooms and friendly staff. I especially liked the owner, Chris who was very accommodating when things go wrong. I loved the pool with it's swim up bar. The food was fantastic, especially the jerk chicken, chicken fingers and vanilla ice cream. I would stay here again.
It’s a hidden little gem in the westend of Negril, away from the beach hustle.
Had a nice cottage villa feel in the room, bathroom needed some esthetics. Very spacious room. needed updated patio furniture,
This could be such a cute little boutique resort but it is completely run down. The Pool area is not usable, full of dead plants, dirty pool, no chairs to enjoy. The room was beyond basic, I didn't want to lay my head on the pillow it was so old and lumpy. We stayed one night, slept in our clothes and went across the street to Catch a Falling Star. This place needs new owners who actually care about their customers and have love to give to the property.
We (2 couples) stayed at the Seastar Inn in early April for 4 nights. First impressions were not stellar. We arrived on a Wednesday around dinner time and the owner was high as a kite. He showed us to our rooms but barely said 10 words to us. The safe in our room was broken and the other room didn’t even have a safe. We were woken up frequently at night by barking dogs and the roosters let us know it was morning. That being said, the beds were comfortable and bathroom was clean. The AC worked well too. Daily maid service was provided. We used the pool daily, which was clean and refreshing. Most days, we had the pool to ourselves. The furniture surrounding the pool is very worn down, most of the chairs are broken. The hot tub was unusable, broken while we were there. The exterior of the resort, as a whole, could use a lot TLC. Fresh paint, flowers, and vegetation could really bring this place to the next level. We had dinner at The Seastar one night and everyone’s food was excellent. Breakfast, which was included, was consistently good. Cold Red Stripe was $3 USD or they have a bucket deal, 6 for $12 USD. The owner was able to get a sporting event on the TV for us to watch one evening at the bar. They do advertise themselves as a “sports bar”, but there is only one TV in that space. The location of this resort is what was attractive to us when booking. It was a five minute walk to Rick’s Cafe, Ivan’s, LTU Pub, etc. Definitely recommend the jerk chicken at Kool Vybes. 10

If you are looking for 5 star accommodations, then keep moving. This place is small, quiet, relaxing and affordable. Staff is friendly, food is delicious, and the drinks are cold.
The staff is the absolute best. Seastar is a true and unique Jamaican experience every traveler to the Westend should experience
Very clean and safe but not for those expecting top notch. Worked perfectly for us. As we only spent time there sleeping. Price was good compared to all others. Staff was great. Would definitely stay again.
I really loved the water fountain outside my room, and the overall property in general.
The rooms we had were excellent , the complementary breakfast substantial and well presented, and the staff were very nice people. The resort overall is a little faded and in need of a minor makeover, but that is to be expected given the modest price. I would stay here again if I were to return to Negril
Had a great time. Free breakfast for guests was an added bonus. Great value if your on a budget.
Absolutely loved staring here and was gutted to leave. Loved the spacious rooms with balcony. Staff were amazing, helpful and friendly throughout. As someone travelling alone, the staff helped to make this an amazing stay just by being so friendly. Really hope i get a chance to stay here again!
Nice budget accommodation. Minutes walk from Ricks Cafe. Rooms are basic, but clean and tidy. Furniture around the pool could be updated. Nice options of breakfast provided. Would have been lovely to have a Jamaican option for breakfast. Bar staff could smile a bit more and be friendlier.
Awesomeness!
I love everything about the property the staff there are lovely easy going communication is on point it's peaceful and safe and I will definitely book there again.
Love the trees and to hear the birds sings, not so keen on the cats, especially in the dining area where we eat.
Pictures are misleading. Pool was great, food was awesome, room was big and comfy beds but sheets are so old and thin. Bathrooms are needing attention. Old ripped loungers at pool or broken chairs. It claims a sports pub but only one tv and no sports available. Junk just laying around, ripped and old fabric for shade around bar and pool the railings were all rusting and falling apart.. owners were nice but just had a no care for concerns or "it is what it is" attidute. Can see the possibility of a nice place if some TLC. people left after one stay as not what they perceived. People we met that had come years ago were shocked of conditions.
Top notch staff and service. Will be returning next year.
Amazing property! Will stay again, everything was clean, service was well and location is right near some lovely dining experiences.
It's a nice relatively quiet property set in the west-end area within walking distance from Rick's cafe. While it's a bit dated, everything was very clean. They provide transportation to the 7 mile beach which is a nice bonus.
The courtesy and welcome greetings
What I noticed in the hotel is that you have no grab bars in the shower For senior people recommended that you put them in My overall stay was very good
The property was virtually empty. I ended checking out after one night.
Cozy and quiet
I enjoyed the entire stay we were welcomed with open arm. The drinks were great and the food was amazing...room was great bigbed was comfortable. Breakfast was awesome all the staff was wonderful...wouldnt change anything
I stayed 8 nights at seastar inn in negril from i got there they made me feel right at home like one of the family, the property is set in a can't wait to return fabulous surroundings with lots of trees just like a beautiful garden every peaceful, :-)
Walked up from the Westend road. It has been a while, but it was further up than I thought. Just had a few drinks but was told the food is good but priced in USD and not a good conversion rate. Pretty quiet in mid-November with no Saturday night bands planned yet.
Beautiful place I will be staying there when ever I in that part of Jamaica # Negril. Thankyou to the staff.
The accommodation was good and the staff courteous and helpful. The food was also good. Would definitely recommend a stay here. I would give them a 4 star 🌟 because of the awesome experience. The accommodation was also clean and tidy.
The room was lovely. Food was good and the surroundings are beautiful. Oshay and the team at the bar were magnificent! The shuttle service to the beach which leaves at 11am each morning was a very welcome addition. Errol the driver was friendly, courteous and timely. Thank you Chris & Francine - you have a great hotel.
Excellent small hotel on The West End of Negril. Great location. Safe to walk to the main road . Very nice room. Beautiful gardens. Great pool. Food was delicious and not expensive. If you want a quiet place with a hood value I recommend staying here.
This property needs new management and a complete overhaul. The location os off West End Rd, which is not communicated on the listing. You have to turn off into a rundown community with unpaved roads to reach Seastar. There is not enough parking inside and the property can hold about 4 cars blocking each other. Now the property looks like it has not been properly maintained or updated in decades. The linen is old, the rooms smell like smoke, and the furniture and ammenties are falling a part. The pictures online are deceptive and may have been taken 20 years ago when this was built or renovated. This is not a good representation of Negril or Jamaica, it is an embarassment for the tourist industry. We booked 2 nights and decided to leave after 1 night, it was impossible to stay in such a dirty, smoky room. As a Jamican, this was the worst experience locally, I can't imagine tourists experience this. If you decide to stay in the beautiful Negril infamous for its sunset and white sand beaches, please try Ocean Cliff, Traveller's, Villa Sur Mer and all inclusive options of RIU, Azul, or Sandals. Please avoid this until they have renovated and fixed this property.
nothing compared to their website. The entire place can use an upgrade. Fresh paint job, Gardening and clean up, new fixtures etc., I did not stay I was very dissatisfied in the appearance. I could not manage my OCD self to stay. It had potential to be great again thou.
I really enjoy the grounds. Many flowers and fruit trees. had more than one rooms so I was able to compare. Some of the rooms need a little more upkeep. The staff is very professional with a friendly attitude. They go the extra mile to make sure you are comfortable. Very reliable transportation service. Lovely owners.
I like that the Owner Chris was personable, he was willing to get to know his guess while helping to accommodate them.
Breakfast made to order is included & they offer a shuttle bus to 7 mile beach !
First night our TV didn't work. The next morning we woke up to all our stuff soaked in water from the AC unit leaking. They said they'd check the filter. Next day they brought in another TV and set it up right below the AC... don't know why but ok. So the next day the AC had leaked all over the new TV and half the screen wasn't working. We went and told them. They said they'd figure out how to fix it... never did the whole time we were there. They said oh well the AC leaks at night if you use it. Ok well would have been nice to know before we had all our stuff under it the first night. There was dogs barking outside all night keeping us awake. Their pet doves outside my room never shut up. Roosters crowing all night. Cats fighting each other like lions at night. The place had so many ants inside. The tub leaked from the bottom on the floor so there must have been a crack in it somewhere. If thats the case think of the mold under the tub... the towel rack was wood but looked like it had black mold on it. The shower facet didn't work right. The bathtub faucet came flying off the wall when I started it. They had no microwave, silverware or any cups in the kitchen in our room. No shampoo or conditioner in the bathroom so don't expect that there the smoke detector had been taken off the wall. Wish we stayed somewhere else. Wasn't a option at that point. A heavy sleeper maybe it wouldn't be so bad but if your a light sleeper like me you'll be miserable.
Just came back from a few days at Seastar and this place is a hidden gem if you want to be close to the action, but have a little space. The staff takes great care of the guests and for the price, it may be the best deal in Negril. They include a great breakfast and a free daily shuttle to/from the beach. The menu prices are great and the rooms are colorful and comfortable.
We had such a relaxed, laid back vacation at the Sea Star. We ate most of our meals there - the food was excellent. Staff is wonderful - very friendly. We loved our room with the King bed, balcony with amazing views of Francine's tropical gardens, the hammock... Can't wait to go back !
Chris and Francine are wonderful caring hosts...the property is located less than a 5 min walk from Ricks café, very walkable location. The rooms were very clean ,spacious and cooled from the strong air con, strong wifi too! The whole experience was great, the owners make you feel at home and go above and beyond for their guests. Wish we stayed longer than 2 nights but will definitely stay here again when in Negril.
Staff and service excellent. Nice clean room. The beach shuttle and daily breakfast was amazing! Loved my stay.
Wow! Our flight was late and and Chris, Francine, and staff stayed open well past 11:30 to serve us. The grounds and rooms remind me of jersey shore. A little rundown but very clean. Not high end but adequate. The owner and his wife are awesome. My daughter loved the playground. Prices were so reasonable. Great location across from Ricks. The shuttle was perfect. 10 stars.
The food was top notched, the staff was pleasant especially the bartender Kim she was very pleasant and added to our experience with her outgoing personality 😀.
The property is off the main Road and a 7 min walk in. We had to ask for a taxi to collect us alternatively walk to the main where taxi frequent - if they come in or drop you off you pay more. The bathroom let down what is a clean 3 star accommodation lovely hot water but taps etc needs updating and finishing touches in the bathroom roughly finished. The staff were accommodating and helpful - beautiful environment to relax in - not sure if all the trees and plants surrounding the property made the atmosphere a bit damp in the room and the bedding was cold and had to be changed this just added a little discomfort - bedding was changed at our request however we still experienced uncomfortably damp like bedding. More like a 3 star than 3.5. I make this evaluation having stayed this year in 3 different hotels and accommodation across jamaica. Gave us all the additions to make our stay comfortable kettle - iron - ironing board - tea bags - good breakfast choice and free shuttle to the beach Thk you
Great host, good breakfast. Very helpful in setting up trips and activities to do in Negril.
really nice place .nice rooms well worth the money paid..quite and not fussy just as I liked it..first time visiting negril and I must say I really enjoyed the place..bartenders their are the best just humble and nice..reccomend to anyone that like a simple peaceful vacay.Rooms are spacious and welcoming.
I love the seastar...its nestled in the west end..you can tell that the staff are treated well. Chris is a great owner and very helpful...i like tgat the gate is closed at night. Ive stsyed a couple times once with my daughters felt vey safe..i recommend this resort 100 percent
Seastar is like a home away from home. Super friendly staff and owners, awesome food and drinks and a laid back vibe. Always enjoy my stays at Seastar Inn.
We love staying at the Seastar Inn, The owners are beyond Gracious & Accommodating, The Staff is friendly, respectful, & on point!, & the Food is Superb !!
Great live band on Saturday night. Great people and fun times. Thanks Francine for letting me jam! Francine and her husband run a nice hotel with great food and bar. West end of the Island but a little more private feeling. If you are walking, it is a little further down the road on the right. The street is directly across from Ivans
Great staffs, great food and drink, very peaceful, relaxing and affordable. Feel very safe. Try the escovitch snapper, happy hour at the bar is good too. Ask for Gary, he is the man, He's my go to guy.
Have been staying here for years. Consistently wonderful service, great value and location. The property is beautiful and the food is good.
Staff was great. Owner was attentive. Nice people. Property needs some facelift for sure and bathrooms need upgrades in the rooms. Food mostly really good but restaurant service was great from some staff and not so much from others.
My friends were getting married at Tensing Pen down the road and I needed a cheaper option. It was 1/4 the cost. Room was clean. Never saw a bug. Linens were very bleached. Towels were small. Internet was slow but there. Room was huge. I reserved a king room. It had a king and a queen. It had a big private balcony with jungle views. The walk to the main road felt a little dodgy late at night. Shower only had soap. Breakfast was more than continental that was advertised. It was a low quality hot breakfast made to order. Tiny omelets, tiny hash browns, dryish French toast. Nothing great but it’s free. I spent very little time around the pool or other common areas. They felt ok. This place is great for a budget option.
Nice place. Food was good.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Sea Star Inn. For the price bracket the Sea Star falls in – the level of service, quality of food and overall experience is superb. If you have realistic expectations (it’s not Sandals) then you will be more than happy at the Sea Star. The staff are super friendly and were really helpful in terms of sorting out covid testing for departure and airport transfers. Would highly recommend.
Bathrooms are mediocre but rooms are spacious with good beds. Breakfast is good and friendly staff. I got good laundry service here. I got good taxi service from the hotel and Negril Beach ⛱ is beautiful.
This property has the most amazing therapeutic sounds naturally from the different birds chirping and animals nearby, and to top it off was also the awesome greenery surrounding the property and mango trees at arm length that you can touch. The other best things for me was the large size of the rooms no matter what unit you have, and of course the food was so tasty kudos to Seastar and Mr Chris and Mrs Francine and our host waitress miss Olivia. Thanks for hosting my Aunty Wedding that was the Boom spot.
It was amazing
It's great.
The wonderful staff members are friendly and helpful. A lovely lush garden and nice swimming pool area. I had a spacious room, clean with a comfortable bed and good AC. There are more than enough channels to choose from on the TV and a great balcony. The breakfast is really good. I liked the pancake breakfast with freshly made pineapple juice. The Seastar burger with onion rings is super. You can easily reach the snorkeling area at Xtabi by foot. The same goes for the Hummingbird gardens, the Lighthouse and Rick's cafe. There is a good restaurant "Kool Vibes" at the beginning of the road where excellent jerk chicken dinner is prepared for you on the spot. Choose this hotel if you want to experience the authentic feel of Jamaica and get away from the huge resorts where you are just a number.
Loved staying here. Property is dated but during the pandemic kept very clean!!!! Even when tropical storm Grace passed by, I felt safe.
A bit of a distance from nearest beach. It was comfortable enough and the complimentary breakfast was fine. Unfortunately the door could not lock, as there was a fault with the lock, being a Sunday and curfew, there was nothing that the owner could do.
Very comfortable, peaceful, staff very professional and iwner is accessible
Nice tuck away in the community of negril west wnd
I consider this place the best Non-Inclusive place to stay in the west end/Negril even tho I haven't been to all places but Sea Star's service cannot be matched. Staff there are so friendly!! Big up Mrs. Barbara and all staff. Rooms were clean clean clean Thanks Carmen!! Complementary breakfast was divine as well as food purchased at Sea Star's restaurant. You must try the burgers!! There is also a small giftshop where I was able to buy water shoes. Pool was cleaned every day. AC was very cold, wifi strong, hot water present and cable as well. I just don't think another non inclusive, at this price especially, can compare. Route taxes are easily accessible if you walk to the main road 2 mins. Rick Cafe is 7 mins. The cliffs are wayyy more relaxing than the beach but if you wanted to do the beach its a quick drive. Many local restaurants within walking distance. Book you won't be regret it. I can't wait to be back
Romantic and beautiful Truly a hidden gem Nice to be on West end
We booked Seastar Inn this past Feb and Chris worked hard to accommodate us due to flights being changed on us. Thank you Chris :) We arrived on a Saturday just as they reggae show was kicking off and it was so fantastic. Even though we where tired from travelling they got us in a party mode and we had a ton of fun. It is a nice central location for the things we wanted to do. We will be coming back and recommend this place to friends.
We visited on the night of the Super Bowl, so it’s hard to say what the atmosphere would usually be like. The layout was like a large cafe & despite the numbers of people , the food & service were very good
Staff was very friendly. Very relaxed vacation. Loved the gardens around the rooms, the hammock...free shuttle to the beach.
Great spot. Great service. Laid back. Loved it. Will return when visiting again
A group of us Canadians went to the Seastar Inn because Chris the owner was showing the Canada vs Russia Junior Hockey Game.We had lunch and we also ordered a bucket a six beer for $15 US. The food and service was fantastic. If you’re missing eating beef while in Jamaica than I recommend go see Chris and his staff at the sea star Inn.l had a burger and it was huge and delicious. They also serve Beef Dips and Steak. On Saturday Nights for $25 U.S.they have a big buffet with live music and their famous Seastar Drummers. They also offer free shuttle to and from your hotel. If you ever get a chance to visit Negril,go check out the Seastar Inn Restaurant. You won’t be disappointed. Thanks again Chris and Shipey for an amazing day.
The family and I wanted to get away from the office so we wanted something cheap in negril. We booked a place that was a nightmare! After 12 in the night we decided that we had enough of the crap that we were staying at. Sea star popped in our search. We called and Chris answered the phone. He took us in! He waited for us, showed us the place, ensure that the kids were settled in with a working TV and had them excited about the next day with promise of a pool, trampoline and the place did delivered! Thanks again Chris and staff for taking us in. We'll surely be back to see you guys!
This trip was very short for us , only 6 nights. Since we had such a short time available to us this time we had no room for mistakes and that's why we booked the Seastar Inn! Entire trip went off without a hitch and it was literally like our home away from home. Hotel , staff , owners , and fellow guests were awesome! 6 nights flew by so fast , memories were incredible, customer service , great food and drinks , cold , cold ac and such a wonderful time. Love the Seastar Inn gang!! Til the next time , much love , Mike & Beth.
Was just a nice getaway, despite it being rustic on the outside, the room was suprisingly wonderful, breakfast was great, front office agent really accommodating and warm. Can't wait to visit again. Overall a nice place to stay and it's walking distance from Rick's cafe.
