This place is great. The location is perfect for exploring Connemara. The house is away from busy streets, thus very quiet. Our room was great, clean, well equipped bathroom. Our host, Sue, was super-friendly and very helpful. The breakfast was great, several options, all good. So, a perfect 5 of 5!
Great experience with our stay. The house was very comfortable as was our room. The owner was very friendly and acomidating!
Nice property and staff.
She was incredibly welcoming. The rooms were perfect, so comfortable and very well kept. It felt like a home away from home. There was also loads of information on things to do in the area. Overall a great stay
We stayed in numerous B&Bs during our 3+ weeks in Ireland and Sharamore house was definitely a favorite. It was great base for us to explore the Connemara area. The room was spacious, and the breakfasts were excellent. We really enjoyed our stay of 3 nights with Sue and John. They are very hospitable hosts who know the area extremely well. Their central location on the peninsula was just right for us, one day exploring northwards to Kylemore Abbey, the Killary Fjord and a hike in Connemara NP. The next exploring Sky road, Clifden Castle, and going south by the beaches on the Roundstone loop. If you're looking for a quiet, scenically located B&B run by people who know how to do it right, this one is for you.
À very Lovely stay for my birthday ! Nice welcome, cumfortable room and very well locates ! I recommand !
The guest house is in a very nice location just a couple of kms outside clifden. The staff are very helpful and friendly and the breakfast is fantastic, I would definitely recommend staying here
Thank you Sue for a wonderful night's stay -- and the most delicious breakfast of our trip!
We enjoyed two quiet nights in this B&B, and two fabulous homemade breakfasts prepared by Sue. Lovely stay!
Perfect location; close to town with a car. I would definitely stay here again. Sue and her husband are GREAT!
We arrived a little early and the hosts were very accommodating, lovely and very personable with helpful tips on things to do in the area including the closeby stunning Sky Rd drive. The home is beautifully appointed and our room had a gorgeous view, a huge king bed. The breakfast, in a group kitchen setting was fine dining standard. We only stayed one night and wished to stay longer.
Great location. Great room. Great breakfast. Great hostest. What's not to love about this place.
Quiet place, wonderful hospitality. Great location.
What a nice place! Beautiful location, lovely home, friendly owner, excellent breakfast, very comfortable room.
Wonderful place to stay. Breakfast was amazing. Hope to return.
Very nice experience.
Sue is just wonderful with the service provided and tips for the area. Clean, comfortable, nice breakfast, great location.
Lovely place to stay, very helpful owner, nice rooms.
What a lovely place to stay! Breakfast was amazing!!! Super friendly hosts. Comfortable and cosy room. 5 star 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Nice room, nice shower, great breakfast in a lovely area. Would definitely stay again.
Very nice bedding, nice room with great views.
Wonderful B&B with excellent hosts and staff!!
Sharamore House is a beautiful bnb, with Sue , the hostess , providing a welcome environment. Her breakfasts are great especially the pancakes. Everything was top notch, would definitely recommend. Also located close to town for dining.
Sue was a great host and the view from our room was very good. The breakfast was the best we had. The area around there was very beautiful.
We were warmly greeted by Sue, the innkeeper. The room was comfortable, spacious, and had a lovely view of the inlet. Breakfast was made to order and phenomenal; many choices, and the coffee was the best! Nice and strong. Although not right in the town of Clifden, it's a 5 minute drive, as well as convenient place to explore the Connemara.
Fantastic place only wished we could have stayed longer ! Slept like a log and ate like a king .
Beautiful B&B near Clifden and Connemara National Park. Wonderful breakfast. The rooms were comfortable and beautiful. Sue was very nice and helpful.
Sue and John are wonderful hosts. You feel like personal guests. Room is a good size. A couple of face cloths help American guests who do not travel with them. We shall return.
We stayed at this lovely B&B for two nights. Perfectly located very close to Connemara National Park, Kylemore Abbey and one hour from Galway. Clean and comfortable bedroom and a delicious breakfast!!
This place is so cute and homey. Extremely friendly staff that we enjoyed chatting with. Bed comfy and bathroom well appointed. Loved the water view from our window. Breakfast with several choices
Short drive to Clifden and the Park
Sharamore House was just lovely. Cozy rooms, Sue was a lovely host, and her breakfasts were just incredible.
Don’t normally do B&B but wanted to stay in the area so plumped for this. Great surprise. Very hospitable and the room very comfortable with a great view of the water. Very clean. Breakfast was superb. I very much recommend Sharamore House. It’s too far too weak into town but very easy drive and close to the start of the Sky Loop
Lovely B & B, excellent service, Beautiful Food. I would highly recommend this B/B.
The hosts were excellent, very friendly and helpful. Very comfortable bed. The food was lovely, we really couldn’t fault our stay here. It’s about 3km outside Clifden town which was perfect for us. It’s nice and quiet and peaceful.
Really nice property, spacious bright room and very clean. Good location 5 mins drive from clifden and on route to omey island. Nice view from our room. Very friendly staff and a good breakfast menu, cooked to order. Nothing negative about our experience but a taxi may be difficult to find on busy nights so we would recommend booking one in advance if you're looking to have a few drinks in town.
Very nice b & b great breakfast, quiet and good location.
Beautiful room in a beautiful home, convenient to the town of Clidfen, Sky Drive, Kylemore Abbey, and the national park. Exceptionally friendly hosts and a wonderful breakfast!
Great hosts great room and mother few characters to complete 50
House had a welcoming homely feel - room very comfortable - breakfast was delicious No complaints
Excellent landlady, wonderful breakfast. Room clean and tidy. To make it perfect there would be a pub in walking distance
Sharamore House is a nice little B&B, conveniently placed for visits to Clifden and the tidal island of Omey Island. The host is very helpful, happily providing information on tide times for our visit to Omey Island, and letting us use her landline to book flights to the Aran Islands (the next stop on our journey down the Wild Atlantic Way) when we couldn't get through by mobile phone. Highly recommended.
Sue and John were wonderful hosts, the room was nice and clean. The breakfast was fantastic with their own smoked fish! The had plenty of good things to suggest for food and things to do in the area!
The room was perfect and the hosts were everything you wish for. Helpful, great suggestions, fabulous breakfast, and very responsive. Great out of the way location close to town.
Friendly owners. Breakfast was very good. Would highly recommend.
Sue was very welcoming, room was warm ,cosy and queit, The breakfast menu was varied, I had the Irish breakfast,it was yum, my mum had the smoked kipper, said it was one of the best that she'd had for a long time. Would recommend Sharamore House.
This is a fantastic find. Charming b&b on the outskirts of Clifden. Amazing food and facilities. The hosts are fabiulous. Will definately go back.
Lovely breakfast.
The worst
The good -- We had no problem finding the place and our room had a nice view of the bay. Sue was friendly on our arrival and it is close to Clifden so very nice for going in for dinner. The not as good -- it was a fine place to crash but doesn't make me want to go back. It is pretty dated (which as far as decor isn't a big deal to me) but things seem pretty worn down, carpet worn through to the floor in spots, incredibly soft and uncomfortable bed. Basically an older house that could use some updating to better compete with the other B&Bs we stayed at in Ireland on this trip for the same nightly rate.
Wonderful location close to charming town of Clifden and many scenic drives. Owners and staff couldn’t do enough for you. Superbe choice of breakfasts and quality food.
Couldn't be better. Room host and breakfast were all outstanding.
Sue and John are wonderful hosts. The breakfast was one of the finest I've seen anywhere, with a full menu of choices including several that feature locally caught fish. Comfortable and well appointed room with a picturesque view of the surrounding countryside. Sue went above and beyond by helping us book an activity for our next day. The location is perfect, a ~10 minute drive to Connamara National Park and Kylemore Abbey and only a few minutes drive to downtown Clifden. Clifden has several nice shops and restaurants (though many close for the winter).
Really enjoyed my stay at this b and b
This B&B was a bit run down but very nicely cared for. Nice place for an overnight stay.
Not what we were expecting. Lots of clutter, dust on furniture. Pictures all over the walls and fish stuff everywhere. Older furniture.
Awesome! Loved Sue, was super nice. She gave us good advice. Room was clean and well kept. Only compliant is the pillows- but everywhere in Ireland has bad pillows.
Lovely quiet but easy to find location. Gorgeous breakfast. Very good coffee. And they put the Lions rugby on the radio for us! Bed very comfy as well.
The service was good and breakfast was nice, but the B&B in general was disappointing. My room was outdated and dingy. There was a small old tube TV that got maybe 2 channels, the sad furniture had seen better days, the bathroom was small and cold, and the place could have been cleaner. The noise from people walking around and talking upstairs kept me awake. I would not come back to this B&B.
Clean and comfortable rooms. Really nice breakfast. Close to many areas to visit and sightsee.
Had a lovely stay for one night. Slept in the bed was so comfy. Breakfast was fantastic great choice. Will be back again
Amazing food, comfy room and warm host! Couldn't ask for more.
We will be back great place hosts are wonderful 😎
Sharamore House B&B offers perfect lodgings in the Clifden area. The owners provide a welcoming, personal touch. Breakfast is delicious with a varied menu. The rooms themselves are very clean and comfortable. I would recommend this place to anyone coming to Clifden.
Our best experience next to our stay in Slígo, we had a great time staying at Sue's place. My wife and I were treated like family as well as guests and had a personalized experience while at her B&B. She and her family are amazing hosts and cook the best breakfasts we have had here while staying in Ireland. We will be back again, for sure! No other host takes their time out to give you a personalized list of recommendations nor is genuinely concerned in what you do, like she does. Thank you for your incredible hospitality, Sue!
Lovely B&B with lots of character. Our room was clean and comfy, with nice rural views, and the whole accomodation was charming and interesting, with paintings (some by the hostess), as well as photos of the family's interest in fishing, filling the hallway walls. The hostess was an interesting lady to talk to, and she provided a wonderful breakfast, fitting in with our need to get away early - she is a great cook!! Wish we'd allowed more time to enjoy this lovely place. Definitely recommend!
Nice room with great views and a great breakfast.
The B&B is 3 km from town in a quiet area and breakfast was served in a pleasant room with a garden and distant water view.
Quite comfortable good breakfast
A very nice, quiet and welcoming b & b with amazing breakfasts.
Arrived around 6.15 ...greeted by Sue and shown to our room...very friendly feel about the house...breakfast was excellent and pricing was very reasonable...would recommend
I stayed at Sharamore for one night (26 Oct, 2015) and was pleased with my choice. The room was very cozy with comfortable king bed, wardrobe, a couple of chairs, and ensuite bath with shower. From my room I had a nice view to the water (with sunset!) and up a hill to a pasture where a couple of horses were grazing. The place was super quiet, so I had a great sleep. It was also very clean. The breakfast choices were phenomenal, but since I'm not a big breakfast eater, I stuck to the wonderful homemade bread, fresh fruit, and tea. On the menu was fresh fish, smoked salmon, full Irish, eggs Benedict (I think with the smoked salmon), pancakes, and lots of other choices. If you're a breakfast lover, you will not want to miss this - everything I saw come out of the kitchen looked delicious, and I heard no complaints around me! Sharamore is located just beyond one end of the Sky Road, a spectacular drive that towers above the water and has amazing views. It's also close to the town of Clifden (about a 10 min drive), which is large enough to have a gas station, bank (for which I had great need), and plenty of good places to eat. My host suggested Guy's Bar, and it was a great recommendation. This B&B is also fairly near the Connemara national park. I would not hesitate to recommend a stay at Sharamore. It's off the beaten path, but convenient to the park and a town that should have something for everyone.
Wonderful location and service
Great B&B near Clifden. Quiet and peaceful. Very good off street parking. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Hot showers! Sue, our hostess, was friendly and knowledgeable. Excellent base for Connemara Natl Park, Kylemore Abbey and Inishbofin, a surprisingly quaint and beautiful island off coast. A must see!
Nice and quiet B&B just outside Clifden with owners that make you feel welcome and provide a great breakfast.
Fantastic owner and great views. I would stay at this b&b again in any future visit to this area.
Unbelievable breakfast, creative, fresh, absolutely delicious! The views were spectacular, our room was very clean, just a little too warm. It is very quiet and relaxing. You definitely need a car cannot walk to town, the road is not conducive to walking. Would definitely stay here again!
Clean and quiet with great breakfasts. Proprietors went above and beyond to accommodate. Even provided breakfast early when we had to catch a plane.
I was always looking for a nice place to stay in and around Clifden and have now found it. We were greeted by Sue when we arrived. She told about nice places for us to have dinner. Breakfast was delicious. There were a number of options for breakfast and it was difficult to decide because all of them appeared very nice. Fruits were nice and there is nothing to complain. I will definitely go back there again.
Warm welcome, comfortable large bed, beautiful view from the bedroom window and a breakfast menu to satisfy all tastes ... The pancakes were amazing.
This was located outside the city limits but so glad it was....no traffic noises just the quiet for the land.Beautiful views, wonderful owners and the best options for breakfast. Definitely one of our favorites on our trip. Sue is the best!
We enjoyed staying there for 2 nights. The room + bathroom were clean on arrival and serviced daily. Breakfast was excellent and satisfying. It is made to order with multiple choices on the menu. Make sure you have the exact location of this B&B on your GPS before you attempt to get there if you aren't a native Irelander.
Had a lovely time in a fantastic location. John and Sue were the perfect hosts. Highly Recommended.
Wonderful hostess. Great breakfast and lovely room. We liked all the fish art.
Perfect
This was an excellent place to stay for space, food and convenience for visiting Connemara. It was a shart drive on from Clifden and there are good eating and shopping places there.
Perfect! And irish breakfast just amazing :) thanks for everythings! We recommand this house Congrats
Comforter was made of real down and the best we experienced on this trip. The breakfast was delicious. Bedroom was more spacious than most, but the bathroom seemed smaller. Shower drain was slow.
A very comfortable B&B handily located a few metres down the Claddaghduff turn-off on the N59, 5mins north of Clifden heading towards Westport. John and Sue are very helpful with local knowledge, hints and tips. Can even sell you reduced price tix for Inishbofin ferry and Kylemore Abbey! John is an expert deep sea fisherman and Sue dishes up some lovely rhubarb to complement a very comprehensive, appetising and fulfilling breakfast. The scenic Sky Road drive begins (or ends) within 100yds of Sharamore too, recommended for a scoot just before sunset. A great place to stay if you're visiting this area.
It was ok.lt truly is a Bed and Breakfast with nothing else. Breakfast was tasty. The accommodations felt a bit cramped. It felt like staying at a friend of a friend's home that was putting you up for the night.
I developed a medical emergency while staying a Sharamore. John and Susan went above and beyond to help me obtain an appointment with a doctor, took me to the office so I didn't have to "look" for it and welcomed me back into their home to help me arrange my trip back to the states. They were both so helpful!
Very helpful with our late arrival (we got caught up in the scenic drive). The room was huge and inviting after a long drive. Breakfast was wonderful. Very much enjoyed are very short stay.
very basic, comfortable room, great breakfast, a lot to see in close proximity to the B&B. Very nice, well informed host.
Sue was a great host and made a lovely breakfast. Very helpful... Give yourself plenty of time as it can be a little hard to locate.
Fabulous food, wonderful hosts (who had great travel advice). Mattress not the most comfortable, and problem with shower seal. Marconi's Restaurant in Clifden was wonderful.
Thank you Sue & John
We loved our stay at Sharamore! Great food, friendly family atmosphere, interesting wildlife posters and information in the hallways, and nice rural views from the rooms!
The stay was good value for money. We checked in very late after a long tiring drive, the staff were quite accommodating. There's a nice lakeview at the rear. The only drawback is the noisy water pressure in the bathroom & the hotel location is remote.
A perfect place to stay with a wonderfully clean room. Very welcoming hosts and gave us all the insights of the local area. A short drive to town. Breakfast was fantastic too.
most friendly, helpful and welcoming hostess
