A great option for a stay at Patong Beach. A good location close to Bangla Road, but not noisy at all. A friendly and swift check in, with good sized rooms and good WiFi Rooftop pool is great for relaxing and the breakfast buffet has a good selection
We Stayed at Hemingways in May 2025. We found the hotel staff to be very helpful, and the Rooms were clean and very comfortable. The Hotel is well situated and very well priced in s great area. My wife and I will most certainly book agsin, thankyou.
Fantastic trip to Phuket made extra special by the staff and customer experience at Hemingways. Nothing was too much trouble given our crazy itinerary and requests. The level of customer service was both Heroic and Legendary and I would highly recommend this hotel for its friendly and efficient. Great for couples, groups and families. Well done Hemingways!
I recently spent my 2nd week in Patong here and can say it exceeded my expectations. The hotel was well-maintained and the beds were very comfortable. There was exceptional service from the staff who were very friendly and helped us with all of our requests. I would not hesitate to stay here again for future visits.
The mattress is hard that we can feel the springs during our sleep. This was rectified on our second nite, thankfully. TV reception is not good … not clear, unlike the HD resolution of others.
DONT BOOK HERE!!!! WARNING!!! Called Expedia every other day to see if they could help me get out of this property and they weren’t able to help. I flew over 20 hours to go to Thailand and book this hotel based off of the amenities and photos. Pool is dirty and there is not a rooftop bar. They are using old pictures from six years ago and I have told Expedia that but they still have this property on here. Mattress feels like a boxspring, and if you don’t have a room with the balcony, you’re going to feel like you’re in jail I have so much more I have to say, but I’m over it and may have to deal with it legally.
Good budget hotel, beds are average but its great firnwhat it is, staff are great
Great hotel, would stay again in future visits
Var greit for tre dager
Poolen var inte ren, gick ej att bada.
Was a quick Stay to sleep before a flight, was friendly and quick check in. Close to walk around and a great burger bar at the end of the road.
It the 4-th time there and is ok if you want to be in a midlle of the patong area from phuket island. You have everything in that area !is cheap and quality / price is ok ! If you eat there is ok and good!
I stayed for one night there. First of all i must say about location is perfect. Room & washroom was good and clean. Staffs were also behaved very well. Lobby is very tiny. Elevator was terrible, sensor doesn't work properly. Except this elevator problem, everything was good.
Hotel tucked away so away from noise yet within few minutes walk of most of the restaurants and bars. Staff were amazing and very friendly and always willing to help. Room was clean and comfortable and although had problem one night with air con staff assisted immediately. Would have given 5 stars but the only let down was the breakfast we had included in the deal. It was put out cold then heated by fuel and stood ages so we did not have any meals at hotel because of this which was a pity as everything else about this hotel was great.
The location is great if you want to be close to the action of Patong and is an easy walk to the beach. The staff is very pleasant. I never had any room/hotel issues to ask of them other than a little conversation when I passed through the lobby but they were helpful with knowledge of the area. I stayed in one of the suite rooms and the extra space was nice to have. Also, it was very quiet at night which surprised me being so close to a lot of activity.
I visited with my friend's, we book 3 rooms. Great rooms, staff very very polite, great location with peace, break fast need be upgraded according . hotel is value for money.staff was very cooperative
Stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. Location is ideal, close to endless restaurants, bars, massage shops, a few minutes walk to Bangla Road and Jungceylon, and around 10 minutes to the beach. The hotel rooms were pretty nice. Wifi worked very well throughout, showers were hot and powerful and rooms were clean and well decorated. The mattress was hard, in fact like sleeping on a block of concrete. The air con in my first room was defective and the room would not cool down. I told reception who said they’d get it fixed. After being ‘fixed’ it was still the same so they offered to move me to a new room although no help was offered to move my luggage. The air con in the new room was a lot better, so I thought. Until the next morning when I woke up to find a new indoor pool in my room. I turned the air con off and cleared up the water and thankfully it didn’t leak again. The roof top pool area is nice, with lots of seating. However the pool was far from clean, I never saw anyone swimming in it. The hotel restaurant food was very good and the promo menu very reasonable. As a hotel guest I was expecting a 10% discount as advertised in the room on a laminated car. When looking at the check this wasn’t applied so I questioned it. The waitress referred me to the reception staff who was rude and discourteous. Firstly she said it’s too late for the discount... this is wrong as no time is specified. There is a set time for outside diners to get a discount but hotel guests not so. She then said as the dish was already on the promo list the discount didn’t apply. The offer said on everything so again, this seems wrong. She also said the mango smoothie is cheaper than outside. Firstly that’s totally irrelevant and secondly at 120 baht, untrue. So refusing to give the discount on the main dish or the drink I asked for it on the full menu price I paid for the rice, at which she just laughed. In the end I just walked away, after all this is Thailand, the visitor can never win or even challenge the sheer incompetence. All in all the hotel wasn’t too bad but the restaurant discount issue turned the stay sour. Be sure to clarify prices and discounts if you plan to stay / eat here.
Quite place to sleep at night, reasonable rate, nice rooms, friendly staff, main locations - Patong beach, Bangla street etc at walkable distance, airport transfer at extra cost etc.'Value Plus' money exchange is very near for best rates. The only little drawback is the very limited variety of items in free breakfast and which is surely adjustable considering the aforesaid great points.
I visited on 10 to 13 August with my friend, we book 4 rooms. Great rooms, staff very very polite, great location with peace, guest friendly, break fast not very rich it should be upgraded according to looking indian guest. But very much value for money.its Recommended for every type of visitors
We spent a week in nay here and found the staff and owner to be very friendly and helpful...hotel is in a nice quiet spot but still only a minute or two from the bustling night life....will be back in touch steve👍
.....stayed in this hotel for 3 nights! Within minutes you are on the beach or on 'bangla road', but it's still a quiete place for relaxing! You have everything you need around here, the restaurant is also good, and the stuff very, very friendly! Highly recommended....!
Booked via Agoda for about 55$ a night. Check in was courteousand was provided a room on second floor. Room was decent sized, clean, but with some tear and wear. Hard queen bed, large LCD TV with bad image, and few international channels. Bathroom was clean, with good towels. Breakfast was decent with a mix of thai and Western foods. Chicken yellow curry was great. Pool on top roof was smallish but had good view. Got a free cocktail at checkin. Price of booze decent. Beach is about 10 minutes walk from hotel. They do lend towels which is nice. YungCeylon is less than 5 minutes walk. Great location.
Good location Not as well kept as during my last visit
5 star for the location is perfect for everything . 5 star for the rooms are kept very clean from all the house keepers. 4 star for Front Reception staff. Now comes the bad points about the hotel. I have stayed here a few times and could not faulter it but this time I have a few faults. 1. The Breakfast was the worsted I've ever had since I've ever been to Thailand and have taken a few photos to prove it. 2. The shower pressure in certain rooms are so slow I can p**s harder then that. 3.ordered poached eggs and I get 2 eggs in microwave on a plate and then over cooked .I asked the cook please cook poached eggs in water and a tea spoon of vinegar and I get eggs that were cooked in vinegar Yuck. I wanted to talk a owner manager and they said I can see him at 1 of the Bars they own on Soi Bangla. The reason I voted 1 star is because of the faults . Below pictures is the food they served for the whole hotel everyday that is very very poor quality and quantity .
We have been to Phuket many times (see our other hotel reviews) and have stayed at the two other Hemingway hotels (Silk and the original Hemingway's) but this was our first time at Patong Hemingway's. The hotel is the closest of the three to Soi Bangla which is just a short walk away. The hotel is situated just off Soi Sansabai and is much quieter than being on the main strip. The hotel has a small but nice pool on the roof with a bar and downstairs there is restaurant and another bar. The rooms have the essentials and was good value for money (we stayed for 7 nights in the off peak for just £120). The bed on the first night was a bit hard (personal preference) but the receptionist moved us without fuss on the second day. All in all a good value hotel in a good location.
Great room for the price, Central to everything
Good location but due to the Renovation to hotel next door a lot of hammering drilling noise echoes throughout the block.had to relax.rooms OK Wi-Fi good.breakfast OK.
Staff was very friendly and helpful, room was clean and beautiful!
I have stayed at Patong Hemingways for many years now, and I have always found everything about this Hotel to be superb. But on this occasion my room was downgraded but without any discount. Not a huge concern, just a little disappointing, especially when the Hotel was not booked out. I would not hesitate to stay there again, but would hope for a better outcome on getting what you pay for.
The hotel is ideal for the nightlife which is only two minutes walk and for jungceylon centre only a minute more also the location is very quiet for noise. The staff are great and do the most to make the stay A1. Quality towels and bedding changed every day and for the cost i would highly recommend this hotel....
We stayed at this hotel. This hotel is really bad. In the middle of my shower - there were no hot water at hotel. Called the front desk - they told me that it will be available after 2 hours. Screw this hotel - lucky I only booked one day - breakfast - not my standard. not to many choice. Curry was very spicy - I was not able to eat. I will never stay here again. I know why people rating this hotel high numbers. Most probably they never stayed in hotel before. Very poor lighting. Bad hotel molds everywhere.
Stayed at the hotel during Songkran. The rooms have comfortable beds and high quality linens and towels. Air conditioner worked great and we slept well the entire visit. Hotel is a 5 minute walk to Bangla Road. The rooms was kept very clean. The hotel is just far enough away so that it is relatively quiet at night. I had a very good stay except for one incident. The roof top pool is a little on the small side. The staff was very friendly. The WiFi was inconsistent in our room. The few umbrellas at the pool are in need of repair. We stayed at the hotel during Songkran (aka the biggest water fight in the world). We did not want to participate in the water fight and decided to eat dinner at the hotel and avoid the activities outside. There was not much water fighting right outside the hotel. While we were eating dinner inside the hotel a young French man with many tattoos came inside and started squirting us with water while I had my iPad. A fight almost ensued as the man was yelling derogatory comments about Americans. The man was not a guest at the hotel. I was surprised that no hotel staff asked the man to leave as water fighting was for outside and he was not a guest.
This is a clean affordable hotel ,walking distance to the mall and Bangla rd. 10 minutes to the beach. The staff is helpful and very professional Don’t recommend the breakfast, roof pool is great. The wi fi works will. Have returned and will again
This is my go to hotel in Patong. It is reasonably priced, the staff is friendly and professional. It is walking distance to the Mall and to Walking Street. The wi fi worked really well. Roof top pool is nice. I highly recommend the hotel though I wouldn’t include the breakfast
Good location Has swimming pool + bar Restaurant has a good selection, had an evening meal that was nice, did not have breakfast Staff are friendly and informative Stayed in deluxe room, which was spacious, had small balcony Bathroom is small but ok,shower pressure ok Very little noise from outside Can book tours and has a taxi service, which l used for the airport Overall a good stay and would recommend this hotel for families, couples or solo travelers
A number of things left a lot to be desired. Maintenance poor, 4 issues reported, only two attended too. Had lunch at the pool, food was simply unrecognisable as chicken cashew nuts. The bar at the pool ran out of tequila. The room has cockroaches and the balcony was too small to sit out. Wi-fi worse than poor the only area with reasonable strength was the pool. Room kept dropping out.
Good hotel with friendly staff Good location Very uncomfortable bed
Very friendly staff nice showers and always clean, good food in restaurant served with a smile
The hotel is very clean and well located, but the air conditioning system is very noisy.
All good , clean room decent b/fast only complaint wifi unreliable , overall enjoyable stay will book again .
The stay here was like something out of a horror novel. Vermin and cockroaches everywhere, smell of raw sewerage throughout the room which they try to conceal with car freshener. I wanted to cancel my 9 nights and move hotels but staff just said up to you. No refund. Didn't get any sleep the entire time. Ended up switching mid way through to save some of my holiday. Stayed at a hostel. Was 100x better. Stay away. Like many reviews before, you have been warned. You have not seen a bad hotel until you visit this one. Unbelievable.
No issues at all staff were friendly and rooftop pool did the job. Close to bangla and plenty of other restaurants and attractions. Stayed 2 weeks and will stay again.
The lady at the front desk was super friendly and helpful. The restaurant served excellent food. This isn't a high end hotel but a very comfortable affordable place to stay. I like the fact I can park my bike and walk to malls, beach, walking street. Not my first visit, nor will it be my last
Good- Location, Hotel staff, Food Bad- First we were given a room which had 3 noisy air conditioners running outside window. Couldn't sleep first night with this noise. After notifying hotel staff, they managed to transfer us to a different room. Very poor internet access. Found couple of cockroaches in room. Recommend this hotel due to location.
Good little hotel, helpful staff close to everything in central Patong, nice evening small rooftop pool.
Expedia advertised it as a Suite, but this was not True. So be careful, some of Ecpedia's information is either incorrect, misleading or hidden But for Patong Hemingways. It's Fantsstic. I have stayed at this Hotel on a few occasions now, and it has always lived up to my expectations. Wonderful staff. Comfortable Rooms
Nice little place located right in the heart of Patong Beach nightlife but not on the main street so no noise issues. Two negatives were the lack of a blow dryer which I didn't pack because the hotel is listed as having one. Also due to health issues, I booked this hotel because of the picture of the hot tub. The hot tub did not work so this was very disappointing! We had just been to a restaurant that had an amazing breakfast so this breakfast was very basic.
Patong Hemingway's Hotel is a nice comfortable hotel, close to every thing, room was cleaned daily, staff are all happy & ready to serve you. Will be back, Highly recommend to all.
Stayed in Patong far longer that I really wanted to due to a brilliant wedding on the Island. Hemmingways was a great place to stay though for those 6 nights as a solo traveller. Close to the lively night-life but very quiet at night and also by day at the pool. Staff were helpful and friendly. The rooms were cleaned very well daily. I did see a couple of tiny little cockroaches but no big deal for the value of the hotel and the overall cleanliness. I just think it is one of those things. Would stay again but i doubt i will ever go back to Patong.
The pool was nice but there were no umbrellas or shade available on the roof - this is not good in the heat and direct sun. Breakfast was ok but as it's not included you could go elsewhere for cheaper. Room was clean and nice.
Very friendly staff, close to Bangla Rd, boxing stadium and Jungceylon shopping centre.
I was visiting a friend who is currently working in Phuket and stayed at the hotel for 4 days. The hotel is in an excellent location; a short walk from the beach and near to all nightlife, restaurants, shopping etc.The rooms are small but very clean and modern with tea / coffee facilities and free bottled water daily. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the rooms, however there is a balcony with no room to sit and no chair to sit on anyway! Some rooms have the same style of balcony but with the hotel adjacent being about 2 meters away, so your view is basically of a brick wall. It isn't so bad if, like me, you only used the room for sleeping in. On my last full day I came back to my room after a day at the beach to find the floor of my room completely wrecked! I was told there was some problem due to "pressure" and I'd have to move rooms. I did move rooms, an inconvenience as it was my last full day, and found the safe in my new room had to be reset and then the door to the room would not lock. This meant that, for part of my last evening I had to remain in my room until these issues were sorted out. The staff were exceptional; friendly, helpful and sorted out any issues as quickly as they could. There are obvious issues with the quality of the hotel itself and due to this I probably wouldn't stay there again. This is a great shame as it is a decent hotel with excellent staff and a rooftop pool which gets the sun all day. Oh, and the food served is also good!
Overall good value hotel for a budget price, definitely get your moneys worth; the onsite restaurant is good at least for Thai food (that's all I tried there) There is construction going on across the street so if your a very light sleeper this may not be the place for you, it didn't bother me during my 5 days there.
Great location good facilities water pressure great fast internet friendly staff ,would stay here again , if one problem cleaning staff very noisy in the mornings
We had a great stay if you book this hotel ask for a room at the back you may not have a view but you will not be disturbed by the building going on out the from of the hotel we asked to move & they were very obliging
Close to the action, bad smells, noise, and more noise, big bed as hard as the floor, if you like to sleep go elsewhere. The people are all nice.
My only complaint about this hotel is the tiny pool which also needed clorination while I was there and the noise from the building site across the road. Otherwise a very comfortable hotel stay.
Very good really enjoyed myself I thought the hotel and staff were excellent
Central location and nice rooftop pool. Hotel condition and service generally ok as you'd expect in Patong, but with a range of problems. No view but you wouldn't expect it in that location. However you can see and hear the major construction site directly opposite (a large hotel in its early stages). Rooms on the side get no sunlight. Killed over 10 mosquitoes in the room on the first night, though there were less on following nights. Large bed is two single beds joined together but the way it's done is not too bad. The wet floor bathroom is a problem - shower water didn't drain quickly enough and would cover up to half of the bathroom. The hotel requires 1000 baht deposit at check-in but wouldn't take a credit card authorisation like a normal hotel - cash only, which was annoying. One night the reception desk was unattended for over 20 minutes, which meant room keys, guest information and cash were potentially not secure. I probably wouldn't go back to this hotel due to these problems.
Except the noisy construction work opposite the hotel (and my room and balcony) it was a good experience. Good location and nice & friendly staff. Good food and affordable selection in the restaurant. Nice pool on rooftop.
Nice hotel located in a back alley close to all the action. However until the construction is done right accros the alley I wouldn't stay here
Friendly staff, poor English, they helped me a lot in changing my room to the 7th floor to avoid construction sound. Excellent food with good prices. Mattress is horrible like a rock and I am suffering from my back till now. 5 mins away from Bangla road.
Great service and staff. We stayed here for a bucks party as it's near Bangla road.
my 3rd stay in this hotel, love the location, its in the middle of everything yet in a quiet location, great staff, guest friendly if you know what i mean, overall great hotel, i do not even consider other options
Superb staff throughout the hotel. Friendly, attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Smooth check in check out service. Special mention for roof pool staff especially Joanne. On the negative side, the hotel restaurant is not an experience you want to try, placed on order only to be told 20 minutes later they didn't have the food. Starters took 45 minutes and were wrong. Main course eventually arrived the order was also wrong and food was cold. The hotel manager did apologise the next day and gave complimentary drinks, however the restaurant experience was the worst i have ever experienced in all my years travelling. One other note, it should have been mentioned at time of booking that there was a construction site literally 20 yards from hotel so we were awoken most mornings.I would not let this stop anyone staying here as it is a superb hotel for a reasonable price.
The hotel is somewhat hidden but is well located in the centre of Patong, close to shopping, many restaurants and Bangla Road. The staff is friendly and tries to make your stay a good one. Its a small hotel, but its still has a outside pool (rooftop). The only real current issue would be that the hotel is facing a construction site so the noise can be bothersome.
Good enough for a budget stay..Hotel is located within 8 minutes walk to Bangla Walking Street and 10 minutes walk to Patong Beach. it is also close to shopping mall. Easy access to shopping, massage, pubs and restaurants without hearing the night life noise! But hotel staff can improve their service..(Attending the guests enquirers propmtly/Smile on the face..etc)..
great customer service, we had an issue with our AC on the first night (kept clicking on and off) we let the front desk know and they switched us rooms right away. Rooftop bar is a hidden gem
Greet time very good hotel will go back
This small boutique hotel is ideally located in the street name of Soi Sansabai. Just tucked away of the main street, but if you want to be close to Bangla Road, Jungceylon Shopping Centre, then this hotel is a must. Staff are friendly and attentive. Rooms are clean and has a nice pool roof top pool. The only 2 negatives is that there was construction going on in the hotel around 9am. Bathroom renovations, jack hammer going full steam ahead and the next 2 days of chisel work. It would have been better if this work would have been started at 12pm as a lot of guests would have been sleeping, including me! The other is that there looks like there will be a new hotel being built opposite, so there will be another lot of noise and construction going on in the future.
Nice hotel for the price staff are awesome especially the boys at the pool everyone says hello and wants to help. Rooms pretty good and close to everything
Only gud wen cost factor is taken into account.. cheap with basic facilities..
Stayed 1st wk of Sept. Great hotel. 1-2 min walk from bangla street, yet vry quite n calm in the resort. Wud like to specially thank Ms. Game @ reception and Ms. Toey @ restaurant. Both were always vry polite and best at their service. Having ppl like them is a great asset for the hotel industry. Great food, rooms are spacious n clean. Lot of travel agents around. ( book with Patong Tiger Tour, most cheapest) Overall vry gud property. Will definitely recommend
all good, nice staff, friendly, near beach nice bar, good food
Excellent location - close to Bangla Road and short walk to beach. Very quiet area, Great staff, especially barman Charlie and waiter Appl - all very friendly and helpful. Asked for a topper for the bed as Thai beds can be quite hard. - this was made available immediately. Breakfast was good - enough hot variety for us. Would recommend this hotel to couples and singles. Definitely will return
Friendly staff. comfortable clean rooms. reasonably priced.
Kudos to the management for kund of staff they have hired ( very helpful). Rooms are clean and sufficiently big, and location is superb. Walking distance from beach and almost on bangla road, still quiet enough for a good sleep. Thumbs up
Positives - helpful friendly staff. Good restaraunt, 5 min walk to the beach, restaurants, street vendors, shopping and bangla road. Even though it's so close to everything it's still quiet. They provide beach towels to take with you for the day. 7-11 and bank right around the corner. Negatives - bed was extremely hard. No barrier between the shower and the rest of the bathroom floor. Small patio. All in all it was a good stay, would stay again.
It was great for a stopover. Very central and close to the big mall. Advantage of being in a side street so it is quiet at night to sleep.
Hotel is nice and tidy and located close to everything. Only around the corner from restaurants and night clubs, but no noise can be heard. Staff always helpful and polite. The breakfast was OK but not great, depending on your tastes.
There are some dust at the bed board n spider web trap at corner.but never see spider though.gave four bottles of water each day which is good n essential
We stayed here at the beginning of February, absolute lovely hotel, a real gem away from the maddening crowd of Bangla Road, but less than a five minute walk. Staff are excellent, room was very nice, just what we needed. They even have a rooftop pool which was fabulous to sunbathe and chill with beers from the pool bar. Would definitely recommend this hotel, you won't be disappointed.
The owner / manager runs his hotel with great pride and it shows. The staff is dependable, helpful, and available 24/7. They professionally arrange for everything from laundry to transportation and tours.
I am happy with my decision to choose this hotel. Its comfortable, awsome service and no one can beat the location of this hotel and most important its very safe. Bangla road is just a minute's walk and so is the junglecylon mall and patong beach. will definitely be back.
this is my second time staying in this hotel and I love it, great location, small hotel, has everything you need, restaurant, bar, pool, pool bar, located in the middle of all the action and in the quiet corner, so you get to be in the middle of all the action and quiet at the same time, also guest friendly, which means they do not charge when you bring someone over for the evening or whenever.
Arrived with friends to start our 2 week asia adventure. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful.rooms were of good quality and very clean. The hotel roof top pool was great in the mornings to relax and meet others staying in the hotel this was also equipt with friendly pool bar assistant, the restuarant was fairly priced with the food having a great taste and good quantity, making for an over all fantastic stay to start our holiday...thank you..
Fantastic value, great service, clean rooms and brilliant location. Would 110% come back
Overall, we enjoyed this hotel amped would recommend it. It's a newer facility, so it is quite clean and modern. The rooftop pool and bar is Wally nice although it doesn't seem to get much use. Brown, the bartender up there is a nice, friendly guy as is the staff in general. Our only complaint is that there seems to be a pervasive odor about the hotel and was particularly noticeable in our room in the evening. I think they are aware of this overall problem but haven't found a solution yet apparently. I'm not sure it's all the rooms, but it was quite evident on the 6th floor. If they solve this, then I would give them higher ratings for sure. The breakfast was decent, but not overly inspiring and was repeated identically each day. The location is ideal if you want to be a bit away from the craziness if Bangla Rd. and yet still a short walk away.
The Patong Hemmingway Hotel is right in the heart of Phukets nightlife. The staff were very helpful and the facilities were great. This made for a great stay.
Nice new place, but air intake must be near an open sewer. When complaining about in room sewer smell was moved to another room, but with AC on the smell came back. Sewer smell was also in hallways, it was enough to make you throw up. The owner of the hotel appeared to speak english, and not being local must be aware of the severe sewer smell problem in his establishment.
I had a generally good experience that was completely spoiled by not working internet. I spoke to the manager and he said he would fix it, but it wasn't going to be during my stay.
i have no complaints regarding this hotel , very quiet , peaceful and friendly .staff always willing to help and chat .
good hotel to stay and clean and friendly stuff...
