The food menu was quite overpriced. For instance, charging ₹350 for a single parotta is not reasonable, especially when the portion is only slightly bigger than a coin-sized parotta and is not an authentic Kerala-style parotta. Given the portion size and quality, the pricing does not feel justified.

We got upgraded to a Villa. Also, it was a special occasion for me and my wife, which the property took a notice of and they made some surpirse arrangements. The chef in particular was awesome. We had some feedback about the dinner and the very next day, the chef personally took note of it and prepared the meals for us that was amazing and as per our taste

Overall, we had a wonderful stay at Taj Bekal. The Premium Villa with Courtyard and Plunge Pool was exceptional and easily one of the highlights of the trip. Service overall was not quite as polished as we have come to expect from Taj, although a few team members were outstanding. A special mention to Mr. Jason Pinto, whose timely intervention and genuine willingness to help made a real difference—we are extremely grateful. The high tea was somewhat underwhelming, and during the monsoon the humidity can become quite intense, particularly since many of the outdoor/common areas are not air-conditioned. That said, the beautiful property, superb villa and overall experience made for a very enjoyable and memorable trip.

If you are looking to unwind from your daily grind, the property fits the bill nicely. Spread over 30+ acres, with a river flowing by on one side and beach on another, with greenery all around, the overall atmosphere is calm, serene and relaxing. We had a pool villa, which was specious and featured an outdoor shower too. We wanted to experience the monsoon and mother nature accommodated our wish with plenty of showers. The swimming pool was nice with clear and warm water. The food at the multi-cuisine restaurant as well as the beach side restaurant were nice, though the decor and ambience of By the Bays needs a re-look. The hospitality was top notch with the staff consistently warm and efficient. Fahima at the reception was warm and welcoming. Pooja from housekeeping ensured that all our needs were met promptly. Chef Prashant and Maniganda at By the Bay were competent and went out of their way to serve us delightful fare. Ganesh and Avinash, the servers at By the Bay were patient with us to find out are needs and suggest the perfect choices for us. I must make a special mention of Zoe and Rini, the therapists at the spa, who were simply outstanding in their craft. We went back refreshed and given an opportunity would like to come back to this resort, may be in winter.

Best piece of sunshine in Kerala - we didn't leave the resort for 4 days straight, but did all their tours include the houseboat. EVERYTHING was perfect.

My family and I have long been fans of Taj and try to visit at least one each time we are in India, but our stay at Taj Bekal was by far the best! From considerate buggy rides to their delicious idi chamandi, each moment of our stay was thoughtfully looked after. While we were surrounded by the beautiful backwater views and scenery, my family couldn’t stop thinking about how hospitable the staff were. Especially Sarath, one of the buggy drivers, and Ganesh, a restaurant staff, considerately took every step to ensure our stay was as enjoyable as possible. From Sarath’s enjoyable football conversations with our son and selfless acts of hospitality, to Ganesh’s fun drinks and thoughtful restaurant support, both of them only made our experience at Taj Bekal so much better. Swagata, Ashish, Attimaram, the cook who looked like the actor Dhanush, and so many other staff at Taj brought smiles to our faces, and the words “thank you” kept playing on our lips because of their hospitality. When our daughter fell sick one of the days during my stay, the staff catered to all our needs and sped me to a joyful recovery. The amazing views, food, activities, and every other aspect of our stay cannot be fully put into words, but I’ve tried the best I can to do so! Thank you, Taj Bekal, for the wonderful memories!

Our experience at taj bekal was extra ordinary. From our arrival till our checkout everything was seemless great hospitality experience. Chef Sahoo's culinary skills and jolly nature was simply marvelous. Restaurent staff was simply amazing specially Shibani who was extremly sweet and hardworking she ensured we get the best service experience at restaurant at back water cafe. Cocktails and mocktails by bartender Ganesha was fabulous.

Some stays are just comfortable. This one felt like being looked after by family. We spent 4 days and 3 nights at Taj Bekal Resort and Spa in the first week of July, and honestly, every single person we encountered made us feel like the most important guests in the resort. It started right at the airport, where Mr. Prajit welcomed us so warmly it instantly set the tone for the trip ( and maintained the same warmth during our day outings and the airport drop too) Check-in was effortless, and the team thoughtfully placed us in room #453 — a choice so perfect for our very young family that it felt like they'd read our minds. The itinerary suggestions were phenomenal — the team gave us ample options to choose from at our own pace, offering thoughtful recommendations without ever being pushy or forcing anything on us. It made planning our days there feel relaxed rather than scripted. Apart from the obvious Spa - the other facilities truly rounded out the experience. The activity room kept us engaged, and archery turned out to be a delightful surprise for the whole family. The indoor creche was such a cozy, thoughtful space for our little one, and the sit-outs scattered around the property were perfect for quiet, unwinding moments. We also enjoyed a few games at the badminton court, and the evening tea, coffee, and snacks were a lovely little ritual we looked forward to each day. The beach access was a true highlight — almost private and exclusive, it felt like our own secluded stretch of shore. And getting around was never a hassle, thanks to the golf buggies and e-ricks that were always available whenever we needed them. The housekeeping staff were nothing short of wonderful — quietly attentive, incredibly meticulous, and always so kind whenever our paths crossed. Room service and in-room dining genuinely amazed us — every single order arrived promptly and piping hot, no matter the hour, even as we juggled a baby's unpredictable schedule. That kind of consistency, with a smile every time, does not go unnoticed. And then there was Sous Chef Mr. Sahoo and the whole team at Backwater Cafe — they treated our little one's meals as if she were their own family. Time and again, they went out of their way to personalize dishes for him and for us, with a warmth that turned mealtimes into one of the highlights of our trip. Asha and the entire front office and accounts team made check-out just as seamless and pleasant as check-in, handling everything with grace and genuine care. I could write pages... Every single interaction, every small gesture, carried that unmistakable "Tajness" — a rare blend of luxury and heart. To the entire team at Taj Bekal: thank you for making our family's trip so special. We left with full hearts and are already looking forward to coming back sometime soon.

Checked in for a relaxing stay over the weekend. Absolutely gorgeous and tropical feels that the property offers. We were warmly welcomed by Pramod. He ensured we are comfortable and accommodated every request of ours. He took the property tour and ensured we don’t miss on anything. DM Prabhakaran was very supportive and accommodating. The housekeeping team and FOM Jason did a lovely decor in our room to welcome us. Thank you so much and it meant a lot. The entire FnB team was amazing and was around during our meals. Ishika welcomed us to the restaurant with a smile always. It was lovely meeting Mr Vasudevan- the General Manager. The resort location right by the sea is the USP. This was our third visit to this resort. Right from the first visit the staff was very welcoming and made us feel at home, which became the reason of our frequent visits. Right from the pickup to airport drop was organized and updates given regularly. We would like to thank Muhammed Kunhi, who came for our pickup, for his safe driving and friendly nature. We were upgraded to a Premium Villa with a plunge pool and garden view giving us the privacy and quiet atmosphere. The room was very spacious, comfortable and well decorated for our welcome, which gave us a very special feeling. As it was very humid for the first few days, having your own pool was very nice as you could go for a dip anytime you wanted. We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Taj Bekal this weekend with my parents and Shikha. From the moment we arrived, everything was exceptional. The beach, serene pool, and wide range of activities—including pickleball, kayaking, and the zip line—meant there was never a dull moment. While the sea is too rough for swimming during the monsoon, it's spectacular to watch. The dramatic waves at sunset create an unforgettable setting, and the hotel thoughtfully provides comfortable beach mats, making it the perfect place to sit back, relax, and soak it all in. The spa deserves a special mention as well. I had one of the best massages I've experienced at any luxury property anywhere. It was the perfect way to unwind and a highlight of the trip. What truly sets Taj apart, though, is its legendary hospitality. Every interaction reflected genuine warmth, care, and attention to detail, making us feel incredibly well looked after throughout our stay. 5 stars would be less for the property. Here everything was just beyond expectation - the rooms, the food, the staff, the cheerfulness esp the staff inspite of the weather (it was super hot). We were upgraded to a room with a pool - it was spacious, comfy and simple but with all necessary amenities. We loved the swing. The restaurants - very good service and good. We had written to them about certain specific food requirements and all were adhered to beyond expectations. Spa - amazing must try The staff : typical Taj they lead from the front you can see everyone (be it GM/ Accommodation / Hospitality Manager) around the property doing whatever is necessary. No one shrugs responsibility. All is done with a smile. A big big thank you to Mr Atti for ensuring we had such an amazingly amazing stay. We first met him at another Taj property in Kerala and to see him here after was added bonus. The warmth and caring for every guest and every little detail as good as can be. Yashoda is amazing with children - thank you so much for taking such good care. Thank you Mr Atti, Vignesh, Yukta, Yashoda, Sneha for making our stay extra special. Over all worth every rupee we paid.

Just returned from a magical 3-day stay at Taj Bekal with four family friends, and we couldn't be more grateful for the experience. Set across 30 acres of lush green plantation, the property is a masterpiece of natural beauty. The combination of the sea beach and backwaters was truly soothing, and the weather — a cool, breezy mix of rain and clouds, well under 30°C — made it all the more perfect. Our time at Taj Bekal was truly wonderful, from the moment we arrived until we left. Mr. Attivaram handled the check-in so effortlessly, and he even planned a lovely surprise for our special day. Ms. Yashoda was incredibly attentive to all our needs, showing us such warmth. The villas with the pool are gorgeous. I had some special dietary needs, and Chef Anbalagan, along with his team of Chef Sahoo and Chef Harif, went above and beyond to prepare some truly extraordinary meals. The staff at the restaurant, including Ms. Shibani, Aakash, Ganesh, and the entire team, were incredibly prompt with their service. The housekeeping was top-notch. Finally, the spa experience was truly unmatched. Rini, my spa therapist, was outstanding—one of the best massages I’ve ever had. Yoga class was so relaxing. Overall, I would highly recommend Taj Bekal to anyone seeking the perfect Taj hospitality and warmth.

Our group of five had a very enjoyable lunch at this backwater cafe. As we went during lunch, there was no buffet. There was a decent selection of items on the menu. We enjoyed all the items we ordered. Our waitress Shibani was courteous and attentive.

Our 3N stay was amazing. We booked the premium villa and it was fantastic. The property is mesmerising. Although it was quite humid. But the private beach access was an icing. The best part of the stay was the hospitality and genuine kindness of some of the hotel staff - Saniya, Alisha and Chef Harit from F&B. These 3 were the BEST! Priyanshu and Yashoda from F&B and Front office. Jason - Front office manager, was also very helpful. However, we did face some hiccups with housekeeping and the front office team in terms of effective communication.

The food and ambience was fantastic. Highly recommend the Kallappam and the Karimeen Pollichathu. We had gone for our Anniversary. Stayed at Taj Bekal for 4 days. The property and ambience were beautiful, but the spa experience was disappointing. The massage pressure points were not handled properly and the treatment felt uncomfortable instead of relaxing. Considering the very high pricing, it was not worth the money. Expected much better standards from a luxury Taj property

Wonderful experience right from checkin to checkout .What stands out is the warmth,courteous & young staff who are more than willing to greet and serve the guests at all the avenues ,resturants .Icing on the cake was that the front office manager Mr Jason & GM of the hotel Mr Vasudevan were always available and enquired about your well being and comfort which was surreal.Taj bekal is one place one should visit due to its location,serene and picturesque beauty and the hospitality of Taj which is world class.

Has it’s a premium Resort, premium charging is not justifiable, as even cycling in the property was chargeable. When someone pay so much, and when resort charge so much, it feels cheap to resort policy to make money on certain actives in property. Didn’t expect from TAJ groups to make money on cycling.

It exceeded our expectation and made our stay extremely comfortable and memorable.

Amazing experience! One that lasts for a lifetime for sure ! You don’t get a lake and a beach in a single property with such great ambience and food ! Sneha was really helping and friendly throughout in taking care of our needs. Thanks to Dibankar for being so kind and accommodating the booking with the By the Bay restaurant though it was fully booked. One word - OUTSTANDING!!
