The most expensive breakfast of 3 wks travel was only fair. The night club / bar opposite was noisy far into the night so tired for driving which we had hoped to avoid.

De prijs van het diner. Was erg hoog voor het geleverde. Mijn vriendin had salade Nicosia dat was simpele sla met een blik tonijn hierover uitgestort. alles was erg droog. Ik had 3 garnalen kroketjes voor €27,00 met wat groente en een grote schaal frieten. Klein beetje mayo moest ook nog een €1,00 kosten. Krijg je er normaal gewoon bij. Bij elkaar zou dit diner voor 2 personen maximaal €55,00 mogen kosten volgens mij. Meaar verder een heel leuk en goed berikbaar hotel met ontzettend aardige eigenaars.

Food was really good and location was ideal for exploring battlefields and Ypres, whilst providing somewhere peaceful to relax
It would have been nice to have some basic tea & coffee making facilities in each room, alongside a hair dryer. Only minor details, but would improve the stay.

Reviewed Aug 17, 2026Locatie was perfect: ideale uitvalsbasis voor de westhoek. Ook hadden we een overdekte plaats om onze Vespa's te laten overnachten. Ontbijt was OK, keuze in restaurant ruim voldoende en vooral vers met liefde bereid. Je voelt hier heel sterk dat het om een familiaal hotel gaat wat het veel persoonlijker maakt. Terras, tuin speeltuin: alles heel netjes en vrij nieuw.
Onze kamer aan de straatkant was wat rumoeriger qua straatlawaai. Vrienden aan de achterkant wel tevreden van hun nachtrust. En in badkamer nergens een haakje ofzo om handdoeken op te hangen: maar dit is al zoeken om een verbeteringspunt door te geven.

Reviewed Aug 15, 2026Hervorzuheben ist die sehr individuelle Betreuung durch den Chef und seine Gattin. Das Zimmer war modern, komfortabel und erinnerte nicht an ein klassisches Hotelzimmer. Das Abendessen (vor allem die Muscheln) müssen wir hier unbedingt empfehlen. Die Motorräder konnten wir im Innenhof versperrt abstellen. Trotz des kurzen Aufenthaltes hatten wir das Gefühl, als Freunde wieder abzureisen. Die Unterkunft ist absolut geeignet für einen längeren Aufenthalt, um die geschichtsträchtige Umgebung zu erkunden.

Op de fotos van het hotel.op de site van Booking.com staat dat er een zwembad is . Dat zag ik wel zitten ivm de hitte . Maar het zwembad was er niet . Was een groot opblaasbad . Dat viel wat tegen .En je kon pas inchekken na 17.00 dat vinden wij erg laat . Je betaald wel voor die dag naar ons idee ..En maandag hele dag gesloten met uitzondering ontbijt . Dinsdag tm zaterdag alleen ontbijt open daarna pas van 17.00 . Zondag heel de dag open voor onbijt lunch borrel en diner .. Dus grootste deel van de week kon je er niet op terras zitten .

Important to our choice was that we could eat on site, bit they notified us a couple of days before our visit that the restaurant would be closed. However they were superb and offered to make us a meal for us to microwave, so that worked out well
We were the only people in the building overnight, so a bit strange!

Absolutely nothing. The hotel is amazing great value for money and the restaurant was gorgeous. The burger was the best burger ive eaten, the meat was amazing.

Reviewed Sep 23, 2023From the moment we arrived the host was extremely friendly, gave us a short tour of the facilities and how to use the secure entry & exit gates. We were offered complimentary drinks (beer) on arrival. We decided to have breakfasts & evening meals. Breakfast was a continent style with all you would expect and was 1st class. The evening dining was exceptional, the menu choice was vast and quality superb and can recommend the Flemish Stew. There is also a large selection of beers and wine to choose from. Extremely biker friendly with secure under cover parking available.
Just the one annoying mosquito that refused to die! There were also some major roadworks in the village but did not spoil the visit.
