Marigianna Apartments

Manos and his family are lovely, helpful and very friendly. Marigiana Apartments are modern , well located apartments in Sissi. The apartments are a little basic inside, but you can expect this in Greece. The only real complaint I had was that the beds were very hard, so much so the bed gave me a terrible bad back.

Had a 10 night stay here as a family of 4. Lovely clean hotel with friendly staff. Manos the owner is a lovely friendly man and he and all the others make you feel welcome. Out room was just right for a family of 4 and the pool facilities were excellent. It is nice and close to a few good bars and restaurants and only a short walk into the main parts of Sissi. Well stocked bar and some good food available including breakfast,

All I can say about our holiday here was brilliant. Went as a family of 4 and everything about our stay here we wouldn't change. Hotel location wise fantastic little walk down to the harbour with all the shops and restaurants you need. Manos Billy and all the staff so friendly can't do enough for you the pool and bar are spot on never struggle for a sun bed will definitely return one day and never done that before

We absolutely loved the MariGianna Apartments. The room was clean and tidy and the maid did an ace job of cleaning it every day. We had a nice balcony looking out over the sea! We were greeted by Manos for check in and he was lovely. His son Vasilis was oir daily point of contact and he was an absolut legend throughout! Super nice guy and he makes some world class cocktails (if you're super nice to him you might just discover the non-tourist list! 🧐). The outside of the hotel, pool area etc are beautiful. The mountain views, pool, bar, and whole surround grounds are just stunning. Location wise it's perfect. Off the main road so no noise, but within a couple of minutes to the first bar, and sub 10 minute walk to the main harbour of Sissi and all the restaurants. Wouldn't hesitate to go back or recommend.

Would definately recommend Marigianna. A lovely small family run hotel in an excellent location within the beautiful Sissi. The staff that work there are so kind and friendly and genuinely wanted us to have the very best stay. The rooms are basic but clean. Small shower and small balcony. Don’t expect what you would from a 4* resort in Spain as it is different - but we knew this and were more than happy so no complaints. We had everything we needed. Had to pay for aircon and glad we did as this was a necessity. The pool and bar area is lovely. Plenty of different seating areas and never too busy. Felt comfortable sitting down there at any time of day or night. You take the sunbeds yourself and choose where you want them, so no such thing as sunbed wars and plenty of space to put wherever you want. Nice pool at the perfect temperature, not freezing cold so easy to get in but lovely and refreshing! Bring your own towels for loungers. Location wise it is a couple mins walk from bars, shops and restaurants. And 5 mins walk to the Harbour area - you need to visit for a swim! Sissi is beautiful and has the most stunning sunset, would recommend going to Anixi to watch this! Incredible food, service and views! Bring cash rather than card, although you can pay by card everywhere the cash is much appreciated by the businesses. Breakfast and food throughout the day available until around 6pm. Huge cocktail menu and loved the ones we tried! Overall would 100% recommend this hotel. Thank you for making us feel so welcome, we loved every minute of being here and were so sad to leave!

We've just had a fantastic ten day holiday here! This was our 7th holiday to Sissi, but MariGianna is definitely the best place we have stayed - and we've already booked to come back next year! I only wish we'd found you sooner. Thank you so much to Manos, Billy, and all the staff. The breakfast each day was lovely, the swimming pool and outside areas are beautiful (you will never be short of space or a sunbed!), and the apartments and all areas are kept meticulously clean. The MariGianna is perfectly situated in Sissi for the harbour, tavernas, bars, shops, bus stops, the Happy Train, and for generally getting out and about. Thank you also to Hera for the cuddles! We couldn't have asked for more from our stay, and we really look forward to seeing you next year!

This is an amazing place for a family holiday. It’s in a perfect location, far enough away from the hustle and bustle but literally a 5-10 minute walk to all the local tavernas and shops. The apartments are basic but more than sufficient. The whole place is exceptionally clean, the rooms were cleaned daily and fresh bedding and towels provided regularly. The food is spot on and Billy’s cocktails are amazing! There are sunbeds a plenty and a fantastic pool! All of the staff cannot do enough for you. We had such a good time, we’ve booked to go back next year!

Our holiday at Marigianna apartments was amazing. Located up a track far enough away from the hustle & bustle but close enough to walk to the many tavernas & shops, it is in an ideal location. Ok the rooms might be basic but they do the job, they had everything we needed, they were clean & we spent very little time in them. The pool/outdoor area is a great place to chill, to catch the rays, enjoy a drink or two & there plenty of sunbeds, no morning scramble here. We were self catering but had breakfast most days, it was very tasty, a fair price & served by very friendly staff. In fact everyone was friendly, staff & other guests alike. If you like to arrive as a guest but leave as a friend & not a number, then you should visit Marigianna, you won’t be disappointed. The only disappointment we had was not seeing Manos on our last day to say goodbye. On our arrival he made us so welcome we would have loved to thank him before leaving, so I hope he reads this review.

Arrived quite late at night and the taxi driver showed us to our room. Dumped the cases and went to the bar for a night cap to be told we would have to move room in 3 days as that's not the room we have paid for, OK no probs, had no offer of help to move our cases etc. Talking to other guests it's a common occurrence, some even being put in apts down the road which were practically uninhabitable. There is no courtesy room you can pay for on your departure day so bare that in mind when looking at flight times. The apts are in a nice quiet location with a great cocktail bar at the end of the road juniper bar. The rooms are quite spacious, with kitchenette that's very basic, could do with a toaster. No hairdryer. The shower is good and hot but typically greek so floods the floor.( some rooms have a shower over a bath). The mattress was like concrete but I slept quite well on it. Fantastic pool area, very well maintained, as are the grounds, plenty of sunbeds too. Staff are welcoming and friendly, good food too. If you've opted for B&B you only get 1 choice of drink and 1 choice of food, extra had to be paid for. As a previous review has stated don't run up a bar tab, payg. Again other guests had pre warned us of this. All in all I would stay here again as the apts and surrounding area are lovely as are the staff. Sissi has great restaurants and bars and is the perfect place to hire a car and go exploring as its central to most areas.

Lovely stay here. The staff are exceptional including the owner. It’s very clean and organised. Food is nice and drinks are reasonably priced. 5 minute walk to the bay where there’s plenty of restaurants and bars also reasonably priced. Supermarket is 2 minute walk away. Only things I would say is there is no hairdryer, iron or microwave. For self catering apartment it’s extremely basic equipment. You have a 2 ring hob and two small pans, kettle and fridge. The pool was perfect. Cleaned every day and the perfect temperature. Plenty of Sunbed’s all day. You can use any pool in any of the resorts in the area as long as you eat and drink at their bar. This does mean you meet a variety of people as well as the guests in the apartments. The owners dog is an absolute bonus and likes to guard the perimeter. Very friendly and would definitely stay again.

Exceptional pool and bar area. Attentive staff- dad Manos works so hard. Vasillos and Skye behind the bar very good. Clean apartment with daily maid. Kitchenette a little basic and might benefit from toaster and coffee machine but not particularly an issue as we enjoy eating out

Marigiana has been mind blowingly amazing. 1. The staff work super hard and are very kind at the same time. 2. The rooms are nice and clean and have lots of comfy beds. 3. There is a refreshing pool to play/relax in and quite often when people go home they leave there inflatables behind for everyone else to play on. 4. At the pool area, there is a pool table and air hockey that the pool table is 2 euros and the air hockey is 1 euro. 5. There are sun loungers for you to lie on and a climbing frame over on the grass You should definitely come here!

Small peaceful quiet location set a little back from the harbour. So always sunbeds, never queues at the pool bar. Fabulous clean pool side toilets. Small apartment (not being negative just factual) I think this is typical in Greece basic too and for Self catering there was a kettle, fridge, with small freezer two hobs and couple of saucepans. Didn’t matter to us as we ate out mainly and the pool food bar is lovely with great cocktails. There’s tonnes of restaurants around even tho sissi is small, with a fabulous t shirt shop round the corner, and two supermarkets. We had one air-conditioning unit in our one bedroom apartment which worked fine however we kept the bedroom door open so that the air-conditioning would flow into the lounge area where our children slept. Everything worked well, but the shower water does go all over the bathroom floor. No big deal as dried the floor mat out on the line daily in the sunshine. Lovely cleaners. Manos and Skye always busy and friendly. Billy was too until our friends queried their tab at the bar, then he started pointing his finger at us all, started smashing stuff at the bar and got very angry & defensive. Us Brits like an itemised bill and are used to seeing one. Not just numbers written in a book. No maliciousness intended. Overall this is a lovely setting but we won’t be coming back because of Billy and how he made us feel. This is a shame as doesn’t reflect on Skye and Manos who are wonderful. 2 family’s of 4, 4 adults 4 teens. Stayed for 12 nights. Ps we arrived at midnight to our keys left in a pigeon hole, no air con, I know it’s charged daily but would’ve been a nice gesture to have on for when we arrived. We also went out to local bar for bottled water after dumping cases.

After all the great reviews could not wait to Visit The Marigianna Apartments in Sissi, and the reviews were bang on...Arrived late on Monday 5th of August and was quickly checked in by Manos , a lovely lovely man , then headed straight to the lovely poolside bar and welcomed by Vassilias with a cool beer...well the next 14 days were super.Brilliant relaxed atmosphere were sunbeds are never an issue.Vassilas and Sky word hard at the pool bar and restaurant and Manos is always busy with the upkeep of the whole place. Position wise excellent only a short stroll to the beautiful harbour were there are plenty of restaurants with super sea views..I would highly recommend the apartments and resort.. Thank you to Manos and family for looking after us so well. We will be back

This place is a mixed bag. The pool area is absolutely perfect; crystal-blue water and almost obsessively clean. The family who run it are, like other reviews have pointed out, very hard-working and always strive to keep you happy. The apartments are basic, but serve their purpose adequately, so no complaints there. There is a warming, convivial atmosphere around the pool with the other guests, who respect your privacy but readily offer a hello and a bit of chat. There are several downsides as well unfortunately. The food available is rather basic, and for the sake of a few Euros more, you'd be better off going into Sisi (several days in a row no pasta was on offer, without any real explanation). Moreover, when we asked to split our tab for the bar at the end of our stay (as 4 young working men reasonably would), we were met with a rather blunt demand it be paid in full by one person; seeing as you can't view a breakdown of your bill, and how much you've spent on what particular items, it gets very confusing and leaves too much room for financial ambiguity. We were told the onus is on us to initially say we intend to pay separately at the end of our stay, which is a far-cry from a luxury experience. As tourists, this is undoubtedly something that should be explained to you. Having to pay for air-conditioning (€10 a day) was also new to us, but we were told it's quite typical in Greece; regardless, this doesn't exude luxury either. For the sake of a week's holiday, it should just be included in the pre-paid price. Overall, we did enjoy our stay here. As mentioned, Manos works tirelessly around the property at all hours of the day and is always welcoming, and the bar/pool area is absolutely fantastic, but this place could easily reach a whole new level of quality with a few minor tweaks.

We loved our stay at this hotel. Such a beautiful part of Crete. The hotel is family run and everyone works so hard. Lovely clean apartments which are cleaned regularly. The pool area is fantastic, no fighting over sunbeds as there are plenty. The pool is warm and you can just walk in comfortably. Manos works so hard and never stops. Billy's cocktails are amazing and loved being the guineapig for these. Food here was lovely. Such a friendly atmosphere here and we have booked to return next year. Sissi is a beautiful place, amazing views of the sunset from the Harbour. Cant wait to come back.

I love this place. It’s in the beautiful location of sissi. It’s small but with a really beautiful large pool and gardens and a bar that serves food and drinks all day and into the early hours. Wonderful cocktails and nice food available all day. Apartments are very comfortable with nice balconies and good kitchens. The family that run the place are so welcoming and so hard working. It makes for a lovely holiday. There are lots of bars and tavernas to walk to. A few minutes walk takes you to the harbour where you can have a lovely swim in the sea with fish swimming around you. Great views of the sunset from the harbours bars. You can’t really get buses from here, but you can do excursions and there’s a happy train (which was fun), or hire a car easily.

We had a fantastic time here. The rooms and pool area are immaculate. The Team work incredibly hard here and could not have been more helpful. Our room was cleaned every day and sheets and towels changed regularly. The food served is of a good standard and they do cracking cocktails. Could not have asked for more. Thank you to Manos and the crew for helping us have a brilliant holiday.

Currently staying at the Marigianna Appartments and you will not be disappointed, lovely location, beautifully clean accommodation and a nice mix of clientele. Manors and family are hard working and attentive, generous pool and area to keep all entertained. A fantastic choice.

Our first visit to to Crete and the Marigianna Apartments, What a find. From the minute you walk through into the Garden you’re made to feel so welcome. While the rooms are basic they are spotless and all you need. The pool and bar area is superb. The atmosphere is so chilled , no hunting for sun beds no rushing around, just perfect. The way the family and staff look out for you is second to none. They’re a small team who work so hard. I could write about how good this place makes you feel for ages, but in summary we’ve stayed in some very expensive hotels and not had that feeling that staying here brings. Manos is a real superstar who never stops. Skye works tirelessly with a smile and finally ‘ Billy’ the perfect host, so sorry we missed you at the end, Chester never got a final hug so we’re coming back, it’s all booked and we can’t wait.

What a welcome from Manos .He couldn’t have made us feel more at home . Apartment was spotless with ample self catering facilities. The whole place is kept beautifully clean and the gardens and amazing pool area are wonderful. Billy and Sky were so helpful and friendly too ! Fantastic place for families and couples. Some great restaurants near by and a beautiful harbour . Sissi is a little gem . We will be returning as soon as possible .. thank you for the best holiday !

What a little gem of a place . It is a perfect place for a wonderful holiday in Sissi. The place is spotless and well equipped. Manos, his family and staff work so hard to meet everyone's expectation. The location is perfect - a short stroll to the harbour, with supermarket, tavernas and bars near by. We had breakfast most days which are well cooked really couldn't see the point of making anything ourselves. highly recommend and would book again

Great family run Hotel in the heart of Sissi. Really nice outside pool and pool bar. We were looked after from.the minute we arrived and nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely return.

Property is super clean. Accommodation is very basic but to be expected in Greece. Very close to local amenities, food was average. Close to local amenities, nice pool, lovely bar area. Family run accommodation with friendly staff. Surprised to be charged for air con as looked like it was included in the price - so best to double check as it was expensive at 30 euros per unit for a 5 night stay.

Al di sotto delle aspettative, monolocale decoroso ma cucina non accessoriata, bagno minuscolo doccia con tenda e senza bidet. A differenza dei costi preventivati ( solo tassa di soggiorno) al momento della prenotazione il proprietario ha preteso 6€ al giorno x l’a/c tra l’altro malfunzionante, anche x la cassetta di sicurezza voleva 10 € a settimana, inoltre Manos il proprietario affermava che expedia lo aveva danneggiato. Ho provato solo la colazione preval.te a base di uova, salsiccie ecc. assente buffet a scelta. Avevo chiesto una camera silenziosa mi hanno dato un monolocale al p1 dove arrivavano tutti gli schiamazzi notturni di inglese e tedeschi che trascorrevano le loro giornate in piscina a bere birra. Nonostante il proprietario e la figlia si sforzino di essere amichevoli con tutti SCONSIGLIO la struttura soprattutto x soggiorni lunghi.

Excellent apartments run by the lovely Manos, his son Billy and daughter Yianni. This is not our first stay here and it definitely will not be the last. Met up with lots of friends who had also stayed on numerous occasions. The pool, outside bar and grounds are brilliant. Anyone who hasn't been before should definitely give it a try!
