The staff were very helpful and pleasant and the food was very good. Very Comfortable and clean rooms . Excellent location

I had a family room as there were no twin beds left . My friend had the sofa bed which is fine for a child but not comfortable for an adult . . I had to ask fur another duvet to act as a mattress topper

It was difficult to find the car park, the staff in reception were lovely though and gave us a map on how to drive round to get to it. I think it would be a marvellous idea to add the map to their web site. Other than that no complaints from us

It was in a good, central location, but the rooms were quiet. The food was great and the staff couldn’t do more to be friendly and helpful.

It’s old and showing its age. Rooms small and our bedroom had an odd smell. Food fine for carb consumers but not us. We don’t recommend spending any time in Welshpool.

Staircase carpet leading to rooms and decor old , worn out , Room 103 advertised as 4 * the room was worn and tired and in need of serious redecorating . The skirting boards were dirty and looked like they had not been cleaned in a while! . We couldnt open the windows - The room was too hot (but at least there was a fan.) All in all for amount paid £168 definantly overpriced for one night including breakfast was a massive disappointment and we will not be returning .

The room was exceptional, parking was great for two motorbikes.

On this occasion we found the food to be very disappointing and expensive. Our dinner was very small portioned, the menu did not match the meal we had and it was very expensive for the lack of quality. Breakfast was disappointing, the eggs were overcooked and a simple sausage sandwich had one sausage thinly sliced into 4 to make up the sandwich with one slice of thin, greasy bacon.

Location was perfect and the staff very helpful.

It was very hot - had to sleep with the windows open and a fan going which then meant that the nighttime noise from Welshpool was loud.

Exceptional. Chose location so I could walk to Powis castle. Also station just down the road Traditional Welsh inn with lovely creaky floor boards and wonderful ambience. Room was immaculate and well appointed. Very clean. Very comfortable bed. Fast wifi. Very quiet and peaceful. Excellent sleep Very highly recommend.

Sunday dinner was awful.

Location was great, staff were friendly, room and bathroom were clean and lovely, bed and pillows were comfy, additional ‘guest supplies’ were appreciated. A fan was provided to us to help with the hot temperature in the room. The country was dealing with an intense heatwave (August 2026), the effects of the heatwave was the cause of a poor sleep. Otherwise, the room had been set up for a successful stay. Breakfast was excellent and served beautifully.

Location was central and the parking reasonable. Breakfast was good but took a little time to arrive.

The dinner was not great value, the seabass dish was small of the price and very dry.

Road noise in front bedrooms, would prefer a buffet breakfast, the plated full breakfast seems small. Staff at breakfast on this stay seemed slow, disinterested and sought to clean adjacent tables before taking my tea choice and then didnt bring a breakfast menu until after the tea arrived and then had to ask 5 minuted after for that

I much dislike the way a "tip" was made part of the restaurant bill. I gave a real, voluntary tip anyway, but find it rude and grasping to find that another "tip" was sneaked into the restaurant bill, without even a mention. Please stop this unwelcome habit.

The night porter was a great guy who made my stay work, having arrived at 2am and then left again at 4:30

Room was great and a little quirky. Bedroom floor sloped a little from side to side which I found fascinating. I guess that is what you get with an old building. Staff were excellent cheerful and accommodating.

Stairs were a trial for my partner as she suffers with breathing problems. Otherwise nothing of note.

Nice to be able to walk into the town. Welshpool is quaint with an interesting history. We were en route to Bristol, good stop off place. Great breakfast.

We have stayed here before in the same upstairs room actually & it was as expected. Very quiet even with the window open due to the heat. A fan was provided this time which was very welcome. The room was exceptionally clean with everything you could possibly need for an overnight stay. The en-suite had a bath which was very much appreciated and everything again was spotless. We had the roast for our evening meal which was plentiful & delicious and the cooked breakfast is quite substantial so if you are not a big eater, it is best to ask for only one of everything.

There were no negatives at all but if I was to be really picky then there were one or two squeaky floorboards.

Breakfast on the second day was not the best .....half an hour wait, then overcooked platter arrived with even a missing black pudding. We did speak to the receptionist on check out who was very apologetic and grateful for the feedback

The staff were all lovely. It was an unexpected but good surprise that there was live music on for the night of our stay. Comfortable, quiet room. Nice onsite restaurant. Great choice at the bar.

It was quite hard to find the car park, however we did receive instructions, so more about us being unfamiliar with the area. Secure car park was a bonus.

Tiny rooms on the to floor , stuffy and very hot . Meanwhile many other better rooms seemed to be empty . Car park half full yet we were told that only the box type rooms were free online .

Our only criticism was the heat in the rooms. It was exceptionally hot outside but the rooms were uncomfortably hot. There was a fan but wasn't much good. No lift up to the second floor and stairs are very steep. Would benefit from a small fridge in room too.

Character property yet rooms are modern and our bathroom recently refurbished. The air conditioning in the bar is a Godsend in the hot weather. The meals are excellent.

The company policy of taking payment in full on booking was not made clear and was annoying.

Stayed during a heatwave, in a south facing room, so even with the supplied fan the room was too hot. The (original) sash window needed a wedge to keep it open. I always tip the staff, so was disappointed to find that a service charge had been automatically added to my bill. When I queried this, it was politely reversed, but I still am unhappy with this method in priciple.

It was too hot in the room as there was no air conditioning but a small fan was provided. The car park was initially difficult to find without asking for directions.

Perhaps the velux windows upstairs should be opened, it was very hot on the landings and warm in room. Traffic noise due to temp lights at front of hotel, a room towards the rear would be preferable another time.

We liked its location & facilities

Despite the hotel not being fully booked by far, our room was on the second floor far away from the stairs creating a struggle with luggage etc. I believe this was because we booked via Booking.com as a neighbouring room also booked via Booking.com.

Due to the heatwave our second floor room was very hot and an uncomfortable sleep with little ventilation and no air conditioning. The hotel provided a fan and did their best in difficult circumstances that were out of their control….. but this wouldn’t stop us booking again next year!!!!!

There was no information given on the website or in communication before our stay about how to reach the car park. We ended up parking in the local pay lot and walking to the hotel to inquire, finding the entry as we walked towards the front door. Since we had approached the town from the other direction, there was no chance to know that the car park was accessed via a one way street facing opposite of our travel....
