Sunday Mangrove Corniche Hotel, Ras Al Khaimah

I was planning to stay at this place for long as I'm staying for business, location is good and most staff are helpful. However, I had repeated issues at reception with someone called "Adnan". His communication has been always rude and dismissive, and he refused to answer basic questions on multiple occasions. This made simple requests unnecessarily difficult and negatively impacted the stay. I was planning staying in the hotel for a year at least, however, I'm moving to another hotel this week because it is obvious that management has very weak control over their Employees reflected in the individuals' attitudes. I'm strongly recommending any other hotel or place than this if you're thinking about a long stay.

I checked into this hotel yesterday with my family. When we arrived, the reception area was very dirty and dusty, as if it had not been cleaned for a week. Inside the room, the condition was horrible. The floor was very dirty and had not been mopped at all, and the window area was extremely dusty, as if no one had checked or cleaned the room before our arrival. We also requested towels several times because only one towel was provided, but no one came. We asked for water as well, but until we checked out, no one attended to our requests. I called several times with no response. I have attached photos showing how dirty the room was.

We arrived at the hotel at 6:15 pm and had to wait until around 7:30 pm to be checked in. According to the receptionist, a room had finally become available. He scanned our Emirates IDs, I signed a check-in document, and we were told to come back in 30 minutes. We returned an hour later, at 8:30 pm, and the receptionist completely ignored us until we approached him ourselves. Then, despite having already scanned our IDs and registered us earlier, he asked for my Emirates ID again. When we entered the room, we immediately noticed a painting left on the floor in the corridor. Later, when I tried to hang my clothes, I discovered that there were absolutely no hangers in the wardrobe. The bed linens felt damp and uncomfortable when we went to sleep. The staff did not make any effort to assist or explain anything. Having worked in hospitality for 10 years, including with housekeeping and front office operations, I can confidently say that this hotel seems to have no standards for room cleanliness, amenities, or basic guest service. Additionally, if you are traveling by car, be aware that the hotel has no internal parking. There is no basement or designated parking level. You can only park at the entrance if you are lucky enough to find a free spot, where cars simultaneously arrive and park in the same small area. This was our first and definitely last time staying at this property. Guests ahead of us also waited nearly two hours to check in—even after 5–6 pm. Some guests even came back downstairs requesting a room change due to unpleasant smells and non-opening windows. * I was surprised to discover that although our room was booked with breakfast included, we were not allowed into the breakfast area. The staff insisted it wasn’t included, even though it had been fully paid for. I had to go to the reception at 7:30 a.m. to sort it out, and only then they realized they had simply forgotten to mark it in the system. It was an unnecessary and stressful start to the morning, and it shows that their system and service need improvement. Overall, the price is mid-range for the city, so it is not a budget stay by any means. Unfortunately, the service, room conditions, and overall experience do not match the cost.

First, the strong smell of cleaning products in the rooms and corridors is unbearable and literally stings your nose. Second, don’t send your laundry as it won’t come back complete. They lost my trousers, a t-shirt, and socks, and what was returned was still wet.

You get what you pay for however the hotel was unclean overall, had to switch rooms due to lots of hair in bath in first room. Second room still unclean, even after showing cleaners where and what needed to be cleaned. My room key stopped working over 5 times. Staff tried to be helpful but overall would not recommend.

Standard of the hotel is very good, rooms spacious, clean. Staff very friendly. Mr Adrien from the reception will solve every issue if appears smth. He is very cearing about the gustes. For him nothing is impossible. I can say thank you very much. We had a nice stay.

I stayed for 4 nights on a business trip. The person who checked me in was completely uninterested and the few dealings I had with him, he remained the same. I had a colleague from the area visit and because he wasn't dressed in a suit he was mistaken for a delivery driver by this desk clerk and spoken to completely inappropriately. My room on the second floor was spacious and probably in its day was very nice but now it's tired, dated and need of a refurb. Sofa was dirty and stained, bathroom was just clean enough but I used bottled water as the water ran brown in the sink to start with. I visited the spa, but didn't stay as the staff and the rooms looked completely unprofessional. I didn't eat at the hotel as I had lost all confidence looking at the standard of the hotel. All of the staff that I saw apart from the initial desk clerk were polite and civil. I only had to sleep at the hotel, but booked out two days early once I had finished my work commitment in the area.

We wanted to celebrate 19 anniversary of our wedding which is on 25th of October. It is our first visit to RAK and tour package was for Mangrove hotel Hotel manager is so helpful and staff tries to make your stay unforgettable. Special thanks to hotel manager and Mohammed at front desk. Josep, Jerin and Prekash did their best to make our stay enjoyable. It was good surprise for us to receive anniversary gift (sweet cake) 😋 Calm and beautiful city, and hotel location is good for entertainment, eating out, shopping and many more!

Stay was pleasant all the staff in the mangrove hotel was excellent like front office team, housekeeping team and kitchen and f and b staff. Hotel rooms was very spacious and good.Breakfast over all was ok but need to improve and bring more variety. Hi

The hotel is not newly built, but it still feels and looks new. Suit room was super spacious and best lake view ever. Tge only comment is their room is too dark in the evening, since most are only LED lights. Staff was polite and kind. Will definitely suggest for other to visit them too

It's a reasonable hotel with good service. The room is clean and comfortable. But the swimming pool is not so big.

I specifically booked this hotel for the pool. I was very disappointed to find that the pool is extremely small and unproper for use. No one watches it and when I went to check it out, there were pigeons playing in it... Needless to say I did not use it... Also, the first roon that I was assigned smell terribly of cigarette. Staff was quick to move me to another room that didn't smell.

The room was very dirty there is dust that was there for many months The dust bin already was filled before we received the room there are stains every where

The Swimmingpool was really small and there was some children with a trainer who was really loud teaching them swimming. No beach and shuttle to bublicbeach only 3 times. The staff were so friendly and the room was very comfortable. I liked it there cos Also the place

The management is most likely doing their best to offer a reasonable stay for their clients making the most of what they have. However, it is time to revamp a bit: that is, to replace seriously stained carpets in common areas like in front of the lifts on the 10th floor; making sure each bathtub actually has a plug, and not to place torn sheets on any beds. Perhaps a word of advice to the cleaning crew to turn down the volume of their walkie talkies as not to disturb guests in their rooms.

Good location for half marathon. Staff were a bit slow and incompetent at check in, they checked someone before us into an occupied room. We were with a 2 month old baby and arrived late at night 22:30, and still took over half an hour to check in. Also dont go for the half board option as it is not worth it as you do not get dinner included...

Nice and helpful staff. Got a free upgrade to the executive room which was very comfortable. Maintenance is a bit lacking. Mold in the bath tub corners, balcony door almost not possible to open, ac control unit not working properly, room always too cold by using the ac. And a bit smelly.

Location and breakfast good. Housekeeping unsatisfactory. Staff unprofessional and unfriendly.

I stay this hotel many times during years ago But never give Me upgrade unless I asked them ,, also one more them was nottice towels was not there when I check inn And some garbage was there at cupboard was not clean or taken by x guest ..

Our check in was very quick and we were upgraded to a suite by mr Singh who was very polite. He offered us suggestions on things to do in RAK. The hotel is located right on the corniche with great eateries around. The hotel service was excellent and I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel. Great value for money!

the hotel is located in the best place in rak which is the cornaiche i sujjest all who want to vist rak to chose this hotel its one of my prefarable hotel the location wise and also the price wise book early and you will get good price.

Amazing Staff and a bespoke hospitality

Room smelled and felt very damp. Noticed some stains on the carpet and bathroom floors. Housekeeping did not clean my room during my 2 night stay, which was odd as I did not have a "do not disturb" sign out so I am not sure why it wasn't cleaned, and I also ran out of clean towels and was advised I couldn't get more until the next morning. The room itself was fine, very large and spacious, seemed to be clean enough, just worn out and not well maintained.

I chose this hotel because I wanted something close to the start/finish line of the RAK Half Marathon. It was just over 2 km away. I found the hotel challenging to find as it was not "registered" in my GPS unit; however, after finding it the location is right along the race route. I was there one night, ordered pasta dinner room service, and checked out the next day. The staff was very accommodating to provide late checkout.

It is located at a good location and close to the market. However, the lighting in rooms was not sufficient, also free internet speed was not good at all even basic surfing was not possible.

The service from the front desk staff is friendly and welcoming. However, we had to wait for 2 hours after the check in time before the room became available. The room that I was given to stay in was not very pleasant. Had a muggy smell and the carpets were stained. There were no towels in the bathroom and this should have been provided as we had to wait for 2 hours after allotted check in time. I stayed in this hotel in 2013 and was very impressed. However, I have noticed in the deterioration of the hotel rooms décor. Will not stay here again as I did not receive value for money.

We stayed only one night at the hotel. Our room was upgraded to a junior suite, which was very spacious and comfortable. The staff was very helpful and maintenance came quickly when we had a small problem with our door. Ordered room service for breakfast , the meal was great. We'd stay there again if we had more time.

More a business hotel than one for holidaymakers. Pool area was permanently shaded, pool was very small and uninviting. Good beach shuttle service to sister hotel which was dated but acceptable. Pool bar prices were HIGH. Needs better wi fi throughout. Good reception staff. Suites were very large and comfortable.

Room's were freezing. Couldn't change AC so turned it off, rooms were still cold and condensation caused walls to become very wet, and because my bag was resting against the wall, it ended up very wet. The food in the restaurant is awful too and the pool is very small and was full of children. Regretted not spending the extra money and going to the Hilton.

Stayed many times in the past and it's still the same. I don't see Improvement or good maintenance or speed of service. the advantage is the cost + location.

Very good experience, Hotel location is great, staff extraordicary especially Anas and Haitham. Problems with toilets. water problems. Safe box sometimes need battery, does not function. Room spacious, nice.

I've stayed here a lot on business and have had a chance to stay at other budget hotels in the area (for example RAK Hotel). The rooms are spacious, the bathroom is huge, the beds are comfortable. Reception sometimes gets crowded with incoming tour groups but if you're patient it's okay. My pet peeve is that you have to pay for internet and it's about the slowest I've seen at a hotel, slower even at times than dial-up. Not high speed in any way. And it cuts out from time to time. But the location is good--across from the Corniche--and it's good value for the cost.

We have stayed for 3 nights Everything was good. Upon arrival we got room with balcony (ordered standard) Breakfast was tasty. Staff pleasant. Many visitors from Eastern European countries

I booked a suite and was allocated one at the front of the building overlooking the Corniche. The check in was fast and efficient and the rooms were a very good size and very clean. Both dinner in the Chinese restaurant and the breakfast were good. My trip included golf at tower Links and for this purpose I would stay here again. Overall it was good value for money.

There were 3 guest. They refused to give extra water. No free WiFi! Housekeeping was sub par. It took forever to complete request ie: extra towels sheets etc. Dank smell. Dirty carpets.

our stay at this hotel was good. the location is good in the middle of town and opposite of the Lake. the employees very polite and they have good initiative to serve customers. The breakfast must improve to be on the level of customer expectations and the level of hotel.

We stayed one night. The location is great--just across from the Corniche which is a nice place to walk and has a number of small restaurants including typical fast food stuff (like KFC, Baskin-Robbins, shawarmas, and Costa's). The lobby is small and the staff were functional but not particularly friendly and not at all knowledgeable about the area. They must get a lot of tourists coming through. The internet was not free but really should be. The room was a king suite and was icy cold when the AC is on. The bathroom was shower only. Ask for a room on the mangrove side of the hotel. The bed was comfortable although my wife says it was a little soft but not in a saggy way. The breakfast was good with lots of western offerings. Parking is limited but you can maybe park behind to the left under some awnings. although those are probably for the apartment dwellers next door.

Nice hotel in a convenient location in the hear of Ras Al Khaimah with great view of the Mangroves. If it's your first visit to RAK would recommend a resort instead as there isn't much to do around town. Negatives: - Staff weren't able to recommend much to do in RAK (maybe there just isn't anything to do nearby). - Ordered food from room service once. It was HORRIBLE. Had a burger that smelled bad and tasted even worst. Took a bite and threw it away. - Some small mould in the bathrooms.

It was a great location with a great view of the mangrove. It is close to corniche which has boat rides and jetski. The staff were very friendly and helped us with directions to all the attractions. The room was clean. The breakfast was decent nothing to rave about. The pool is small but we were going to go to the bin majid resort so did not care too much. The overall service was fantastic and they addressed every questions we had. We asked about their furniture and they had someone come to our room from sourcing who explained where they purchased every piece of furniture and then proceeded to give us their number and the contact person who can give us a good discount.

I got an upgrade when I talk to the hotel receiptionist that I am a VIP Elite Member of Expedia.com. Very good hotel, basic 4 stars services, very good breakfast choices & view

The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. We were given a free room upgrade on check-in. The pool was a bit small although they give you a free beach pass on one of their beachfront properties if you would like a bigger space. Nice gym. Breakfast is good. We had dinner in the Noodles restaurant. It was very good. There are other restaurants and malls nearby, as well.It was a very nice experience. We'll definitely come back.

We had Long Weekend as local Residents of UAE. Reception was Chaos at check in. Nothing prepared. No Information about Hotels facilities. In evening we asked about some nice Restaurant. They did even not Advise about their own Restaurants. For easy overnight no Problem. For Holiday difficult. They have Coupons for their Beach Hotel. But you have to ASK for it.

Modern Arabic styled hotel overlooking the Lagoon and Mangroves. Big modern rooms, nice staff. Outlook is room dependent and pool is cold. Good for short stay where you are out and about. Great breakfast

FOUND TO BE VERY GOOD

The good thing about this hotel is the amazing location across the beautiful RAK Corniche and close to most attractions in the city. Despite the fact that the hotel is the newest in RAK city center area, the maintenance of the room was poor. This was noticeable during my last 3 visits during 2013, not to mention that i had to ask for missing amenities every time I checked-in.

Good hotel

Very good hotel and new in the heart of Ras Al Khaima, the room was clean, but i didn't like the quality of food for the in-room dining service (nothing special). Additionally, the bathroom decoration is just like an average bathroom in any residential building). Since i visit RAK very often, i will sure stay again in this hotel.

Terrible choice for this location at all... That was my last resort since i could not find any available rooms elsewhere but that indeed turned out to be a nightmare for 4 days...
