Guests arriving by vehicle should use an all-terrain vehicle since the road is bumpy and deteriorated. The property reserves the right to transport pregnant women on board. The hotel transfer fee is not included in the rate.
1. The access to the Hotel has uncovered sections which in the rainy season can deteriorate a little, therefore special care must be taken with low vehicles, however all our vehicles are SUV type.
2. On the way to the hotel, if you come in your car, local vendors who offer services to go to Playa Blanca may approach and follow you, keep in mind that these people, not having training to deal with tourism, can generate an image of siege. Although their insistence may seem uncomfortable, it poses no risk, as they are simply promoting their products.
3. The Cholón cove which is in front of our hotel has become a very visited place by people from different parts of the world, sometimes the noise of the music can be heard in the hotel, it happens occasionally but we want be up to date

Reviewed Sep 19, 2026Most of the staff were outstanding. Very friendly, helpful, eager to serve. The food was good. A bit expensive by Colombian standards, but understandable as the hotel is not easy to provision. The cocktails were really quite good. It is real easy to run up quite a tab at the bar! The pool was nice, and an essential component to staying cool.
The location is very isolated. Getting there is not as simple as it could be. The Boat service is not easily available. Driving is 2 hours from the airport and takes you through some of the more depressing and chaotic parts of Cartagena. Once you arrive at the hotel there is no alternative for entertainment or eating. You are stuck in the hotel. Is it nice? Sure. But you have to be ready to disconnect and see the same menu at each meal.

Falta d’atenció del personal del restaurant i bar; poc habitual a Colombia. Algunes instal.lacions poc cuidades, com les escales i baranes dels edificis d’habitacions. Des de les 8 del matí feien obres de remodelació que evitaven poder descansar o estar tranquil, just a la zona de massatges i spa. Un hotel totalment apartat i per descansar no pot fer obres estant obert.

Reviewed Jul 22, 2026Das Hotel ist ganz wunderbar. Das Personal ist freundlich, überall ist ein Lächeln auf den Gesichtern, sie es ob es sich um die Rezeption oder das Reinigungspersonal handelt. Es gibt einen privaten Strand und viele Möglichkeiten, so dass einem nicht langweilig wird. Toll, war dass es so ruhig war, beispielsweise hat die Bar um 10 Uhr geschlossen, so dass man hinterher noch draußen sitzen konnte und die Natur genießen konnte und dann aber auch schlafen konnte!
Leider liegt Cholon Bay direkt gegenüber und nachmittags ist es laut mit den Jetski Fahrern und der Musik, aber das geht jedoch, weil es Tagesgäste sind und sie nachmittags wieder verschwinden, so dass man den Abend ruhig genießen kann.

Reviewed Jul 6, 2026The hotel's staff is fantastic!!! The view is amazing. The food is good. The room and the room's restroom great. The hotel has its own boat that you can rent on an hourly basis. We rented it for three hours for approx USD$250. Also, it is easy to find jetskis to rent in front of the hotel's beach. We rented every day for just USD$80 per hour (each jetski).
The room rate si competitive and reasonable in light of what you get. However, you should consider the cost of food, especially if you are planning to stay for several days. The hotel's restaurants are quite expensive, and there are essentially no alternative dining options nearby—the closest restaurants are about an hour away. We stayed for five full days, so these costs added up quickly. As a family of two adults and two children, we spent between US$160 and US$200 per meal. The same pricing applies to the pool menu and beverages. As a result, a family of this size should expect to spend approximately US$400–500 per day on food alone. We rarely drink alcohol (perhaps a beer or two), so guests who regularly order alcoholic beverages should expect their daily expenses to be considerably higher. Overall, we found the room rate to be competitive and generally in line with the quality and level of the hotel. However, the food and beverage prices felt disproportionately high and, in our opinion, were not consistent with the hotel's overall standard. One important thing to know before booking is that the hotel overlooks a public beach located approximately 500 to 1,000 meters away. Loud music is played there every day from around 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. In addition, numerous party boats anchor at that public beach throughout the day, and each one plays its own music, creating constant noise that can significantly affect the otherwise peaceful atmosphere at the hotel.

Reviewed May 30, 2026Sehr schönes Hotel am Strand, sehr sauber, sehr gutes Frühstück (Buffet). Mittagessen und Abendessen im Hotel - Preise nicht billig - aber sehr gutes Essen! Das Personal ist sehr aufmerksam und freundlich und hilfsbereit. Stand-up Paddel kann man ausborgen, ohne Bezahlung.
Strandzugang - Gras und braunes Wasser (nicht schmutzig, nur aufgewühlt). Jetski kommen immer vorbei - es stinkt und sie machen lärm. Partyinsel gegenüber - Musik von 10-16 Uhr ca. (war aber ok, Hotel spielt auch Musik am Strand und am Pool).

La vista privilegiada que ofrece el restaurant al desayuno y almuerzo es genial; la cual, en combinación con la calidez de la atención de su personal hacen realmente un agrado la estadía en Aura. La tranquilidad del lugar, sus playas y diferentes actividades que se pueden realizar en ella o sus alrededores especialmente en las islas del Rosario son imperdibles. Quiero simbolizar mi agradecimiento a todo el personal del hotel en Lordis siempre atenta, cariñosa y disponible para hacer de mi estadía la mejor, un fuerte abrazo para todos !!

Nos brindó recomendaciones, nos ofreció los mejores momentos para compartir y siempre pensando en que disfrutemos. Sin dudas el hotel es un 10 gracias a ella!
La playa no es tan linda como luce en las fotos, la carta del único restaurante es limitada y que durante la estadía se depende todo el tiempo del hotel ya que su ubicación lo vuelve un punto lejano a supermercados, kioscos, etc. El desayuno podría ser más variado para la categoría del hotel.

3 cosas puntuales por mejorar: 1. El servicio/atención al cliente muy regular 2. El desayuno no estuvo tan bueno 3. En mi caso el aire del cuarto se dañó en la madrugada, si bien atendieron la solicitud y lo arreglaron; duraron como 30’min aprox para arreglar y esto ya hizo que se desvelara uno un rato para volver a conciliar el sueño. Estaba con 2 hijos y ambos se despertaron pues hicieron ruido al ingresar con escaleras y todo.

Reviewed Apr 27, 2026Ein wunderbarer Ort zum Entspannen und Abschalten. Unsere Zimmer hatten Meerblick. Vom oberen Restaurant hat man ebenfalls einen beeindruckenden Blick aufs Meer. Das Personal war super freundlich. Der Pool mit vielen Schattenplätzen, und auch sonst gab es genug schattige Ecken.
Etwas überraschend sind die Preise, auf höherem deutschen Niveau.

The hotel could not get us there by boat on our check in day, and arranged our own transport out. More should be done to help your guests given the remote location. At times the number of kids crying and screaming took away from the setting.

It was completely quiet with only about 28 guests. We were able to nap at the pool/beach. Perfect spot for parents needing some kid free time. Our room had ocean view from the bed, a quiet little patio with a hammock, cold ac, and comfortable bed- no tvs in the rooms! The food and service was 10/10. Not a party spot. Very quiet and tranquil.

Reservamos el hotel para una fecha en la cual hubo una tormenta muy fuerte en Cartagena, el personal del hotel nos cambió la fecha para otro día sin realizar ningún cargo adicional con tal de que podamos disfrutar de las instalaciones sin tener que pasar el susto de la tormenta, mi esposa y yo estaremos siempre agradecidos por ello y esperamos volver pronto. Algo que me parece muy importante resaltar también es que la ubicación de su playa frente a las islas causa que el mar esté más tranquilo en su playa que en el resto de la península y cartagena, casi parece una piscina, perfecto para nadar, practicar kayak y paddle.

Praia não tinha águas transparentes como outras da região. Tem uma ilha da frente com barcos c música alta durante o dia. Reviewed Jan 19, 2026Die Bewertung des Hotels fällt mir persönlich sehr schwierig. Das Personal ist extrem freundlich gewesen, man hat sich von der ersten Sekunde an Willkommen gefühlt und wurde den ganzen Urlaub fast überall direkt mit Namen angesprochen. Auch die Anlage selbst ist sehr ansprechend gestaltet, vom Restaurant über den Pool-Bereich bis hin zu den Liegen am Strand.
Leider fällt das Hotel jedoch in dem wichtigsten Punkt eines Standurlaubs stark ab: dem Strand. Das Hotel selbst liegt inmitten Mangroven und verfügt nur über zwei sehr kleine Strände. Das Wasser ist morgens noch halbwegs genießbar aber spätestens Nachmittags ist es so voll mit Algen, Dreck und Müll, dass Schwimmen dort nur wenig Spaß macht. Dafür kann das Hotel selbst natürlich nur wenig, aber es ändert ja nichts an der Tatsache. Aber auch im (schönen) Pool ist das Schwimmen quasi nicht möglich, da mir (1,85m) das Wasser selbst an der tiefsten Stelle gerade mal bis zum Bauchnabel ging. Alle, die beim Strandurlaub also auch gerne mal schwimmen, werden hier Probleme haben. Die Zimmer sind in Ordnung (die Betten sind super!) aber eine Renovierung würde sicherlich nicht schaden, vor allem bei den Superior Zimmern. "In Ordnung" ist auch das Essen, es ist wirklich nicht schlecht aber gemessen am Preis einfach viel zu teuer, genau so wie die Getränke. 11 € für einen Aperol Spritz sind eher deutsche Großstadtpreise und selbst für Karibik-Verhältnisse einfach überzogen. Das Frühstück ist für Urlaubszeiten viel zu früh (7:30 - 9:30 Uhr) und sobald mal mehr Menschen da sind, fehlt es links und rechts am Essen. Insgesamt würde ich dem Hotel aufgrund der warmherzigen Menschen gerne mehr Punkte geben, aber der Rest des Hotels gibt das einfach nicht her. Nichts ist hier wirklich "schlecht" aber für den Preis ist das, was man bekommt insgesamt leider zu wenig. Wir würden bei der nächsten Reise ein anderes Hotel aussuchen.

We always take a day to rent a private boat from Boats4U to cruise around the Caribbean and explore the islands and visit floating bars, beaches and our favorite restaurant located in this beautiful island hotel. The service is always on-point: not at all invasive, but rather perfectly attentive. The food exquisitely prepared, presented in an exceptional 5-star manner, and stunningly delectable. I ordered the SHRIMP AND BLACK-EYED PEA RICE ($87,000 Colombian Pesos=$23.50USD) Coconut seasoned apastelado rice (local risotto) with cilantro, chives, shrimp white clams, and black-eyed peas. OUTSTANDING dish recommended by our guide Andes! My son had a CHEESEBURGER that he described as the best he’d ever had—it looked moist and handmade. My wife had the FRIED RED SNAPPER ($25USD): Whole fresh snapper, perfectly fried and served with traditional coconut rice, crispy patacones, and a salad. I tasted the Snapper—PERFECTLY DELICIOUS! My daughter ordered the PESCA DEL DÍA (fried catch of the day—Sea bass—about $25USD) served with patacón (fried green plantain), coconut rice, and salad. I also tasted this dish including the fried plantain and it was delicious. Finally, we had a variety of non-alcoholic tropical mocktails!
