Reviewed Aug 11, 2026El sitio tiene mucho encanto, el administrador/personal del edificio es muy amable, llano y hace que vivas la mejor experiencia posible en tu estancia y el desayuno es prácticamente a la carta pudiendo elegir entre diferentes opciones a tu llegada al hotel. Muy muy agradable mi estancia.
En el hall/pasillos de recepción no hay apenas luz natural y es necesario mirar bien por donde caminas al entrar y encender las luces con los pulsadores. Por decir algo, lo demás todo genial.

Reviewed Jul 13, 2026The hosts are a lovely couple! They gave us great tips for local excursions and restaurants. We were in Marvao for a wedding so didn't get to explore as much as we would have liked but we will be back! I highly recommend staying here if you want a traditional Portuguese stay, it felt like we had a room in a Portuguese aunty and uncles house.
The only thing I would recommend is putting something on the balcony for shade as it gets very hot and the seats are metal.

In order to drive there you need to make your way through narrow streets. They are big enough … but you need to be bold. Like with other European villages. Lots of charm because the roads weren’t meant for sedans!

It is so well kept and every detail from the towels to the bottles of water waiting for us to the amazing breakfast prepared freshly in the morning was top notch.

Reviewed Jun 12, 2026Der Aufenthalt in Marvao, insbesondere in der Casa da Arvore, ist überwältigend. Spätestens wenn die Tagesgäste weg sind, entsteht eine unglaubliche Atmosphäre. Sie machen die Augen zu und Sie hören NICHTS ! Sie machen sie auf und haben die Wahl 50 Km weit nach Spanien oder zur anderen Seite nach Portugal zu schauen oder nach oben und mit Glück sehen sie die Geier fliegen. Das alles, zusammen mit einer sehr liebenswerten Begleitung und Bewirtung durch die Wirtsleute und einer nostalgischen Einrichtung, machen den Aufenthalt zu einem Erlebnis. Letzter Kilometer der Anfahrt belebt den Puls, ist aber machbar. Nur immer die linke Möglichkeit wählen!

Mesmo o café da manhã é preparado e servido para cada grupo, individualmente (o agendamento do horário é feito diariamente).
A cama era confortável, mas talvez um pouco baixa e poderia ser mais firme. No geral, a instalação é excelente.

Te acogen desde el primer momento como si fueras de su familia, te explican y recomiendan qué hacer en la zona, y el momento del desayuno fue lo que más me gustó. Te preguntan qué es lo que quieres (tienen una lista con numerosas opciones), y te lo sirven recién hecho y casero todo. Recomendación 100%.

Very friendly welcome by host with useful information provided about dining options in Marvao. Excellent breakfast in communal area. Wonderful views from balcony off communal lounge. La atención de Joaquín y su mujer ha sido realmente cercana y siempre atendiendo a las necesidades. Te hacen sentir en casa. Recomendado. Además destacó la limpieza de la habitación y las zonas comunes.

Reviewed May 2, 2026Joaquim and Maria were amazing hosts. The location is incredible. We watched the sunset from the balcony each night. Breakfast was wonderful. It was like being in our own home.
We loved everything except the bed, which felt old and uncomfortable. A new mattress would fix that and make this place perfect.

The views were incredible & having an outside patio restaurant nearby was perfect 👌 ....driving the streets were particularly fun!
April was a quiet month, evidently, because not many shops to browse ...but that was ok.

O pequeno almoço totalmente feito com carinho para cada um. E o atendimento dos anfitriões que é o que tornou a experiência ainda mais única!

Reviewed Mar 17, 2026What a beautiful town! We loved being able to walk right out the door of Casa da Arvore and access everything. We were able to park right in front of the building, no problem. The hosts were so kind to let us check in several hours early and gave us great recommendations on where to eat in town. And the breakfast was incredible! Mr. Joachim even packed up sandwiches for our drive. The internet was fast, and while we just used it for email/social media, I suspect it would have worked well for video calls. And the views! It was windy on the balcony, but we toughed it out for a while because it was gorgeous. We would love to stay longer next time to visit other nearby towns.
There wasn't anything I didn't like. If you enjoy a Bed and Breakfast experience, you will love staying here!
