Ralf and his team did every effort to make our stay, dinner and breakfast a fine experience. They helped us where they could. The spot facing sint Patricks Head is fantastic. We had a spendid view during dinner in the glasshouse. Recommended!

Outside Stella Maris Shore house it's 'rural'; you need a car for every trip, pub, market, Sint Patricks Head, Ballycastle...

Il bagno nn era accogliente Troppo piccolo e difficile x fare una doccia

Struttura molto caratteristica. Vista magnifica, ma non direttamente sull'oceano, come descritto, ma su una piccola baia; in lontananza si vede il Dun Briste. Pranzo e colazione discreti.

La camera e, soprattutto il bagno, necessitano di ristrutturazione. Non abbiamo potuto aprire la finestra perché il davanzale era sporco di guano (un nido di rondine era sopra alla finestra): certamente, il nido non si può togliere, ma il guano sarebbe opportuno.

Edificio storico in posizione fantastica, arredato con molto gusto. Camera luminosa e spaziosa. Staff di una gentilezza squisita. Abbiamo dimenticato un giubbotto e Rolf ce lo ha subito spedito in Italia.

Accoglienza top! Gentilissimi! Buona colazione! Ottima vista! Dormito benissimo!

Rolf and team where so helpful and welcoming. We had car trouble and got in later than expected. Rolf came out to greet us when we arrived and had made sure they had some dinner to serve us which we were very grateful for. Everyone was so nice and the whole vibe at the hotel were warm, calm and friendly. We loved our stay. Location right by the water and just a short drive to Downpatrick Head. Nice big rooms!

A beautiful property in a stunning location. This building has been a local landmark for many years and l had admired it since playing on the local beach when visiting my grandparents as a child. I was delighted to be able to stay there and not disappointed. We received a warm welcome and despite arriving after the restaurant closed, our host extended the usual hours and we enjoyed a delicious meal. We hope to visit again soon!

Oltre alla posizione molto bella, lo Staff si è dimostrato particolarmente gentile e disponibile. Denise (carinissima e dolcissima) e Rolf (il quale fa degli ottimi Agnolotti al burro e parmigiano ed una ottima Amatriciana....) sono delle persone veramente piacevoli che ti fanno sentire a casa.

Qualche accessorio nel bagno sarebbe un pò da aggiornare.

Rolfe and Denise make you feel welcome the moment you arrive. I have never had a higher level of service in my life. The food is outstanding. The comfort of Swiss German extravagance in a unique hotel with all the benefits of feeling welcome and at home. I can not say enough for the wonderful experience my wife and I had at the Stella Maris. I have recommended it to all of my family and friends. If you come, you will go back again and again.

Ein sehr netter Gastgeber, ein schönes Haus mit Geschichte und geschmackvoller Einrichtung, eine tolle Lage, wenn man es naturnah und einsam mag, super Frühstück.

Amazing location and very attentive management. The view is unbeatable and the food was very good.

Limited dinner menu for a longer stay. The location is quite remote so dinner options are limited in the area. Breakfast was very good.

Wir wurden vom Gastgeber herzlich Empfangen, bekamen Tipps für die Umgebung und hatten einen sehr schönen und erholsamen Aufenthalt. Die Lage vom Hotel ist aussergewöhnlich schön und gemütlich. Wir würden wieder hier buchen.

We had a lovely stay, everything was perfect. We were following the photographer’s route, exploring the beautiful corners of the Atlantic coast. Stella Maris B&B is very comfortable. We had a delicious dinner and breakfast, good night sleep. Taking home good photos and memories

Dieses Hotel war einfach einmalig! Die Lage ist unschlagbar – ein traumhafter Blick aufs Meer, der jeden Moment besonders gemacht hat. Schon beim Ankommen wurden wir von einem einzigartigen Host empfangen, der mit seiner Herzlichkeit und Aufmerksamkeit sofort das Gefühl gegeben hat, willkommen zu sein. Das Abendessen war hervorragend – nicht nur geschmacklich ein Highlight, sondern auch in einer wunderbar entspannten und unterhaltsamen Atmosphäre. Auch das Frühstück ließ keine Wünsche offen: frisch, liebevoll zubereitet und mit viel Freundlichkeit serviert. Es hat uns wirklich an nichts gefehlt. Wir haben uns rundum wohlgefühlt und die Zeit dort in vollen Zügen genossen. Ein Ort, an den man unbedingt zurückkehren möchte!

Stunning area, we even had rainbows appear! The owner was amazing, the hospitality superb and the room was lovely. It was appreciated that you could get an evening meal if you wanted as it is a fairly remote area. We did a long hike in the country, so beautiful.

I had a wonderful stay at the Stella Maris Shore House and wish I had been able to stay longer. It is right on the shore with direct views of the ocean. You can even see the Sea Stack in the distance. The room was very comfortable and I enjoyed a long bath and a long sleep with the sound of the ocean. Breakfast was delicious. They offered a dinner option and it was tasty. The people were so nice. I got a tour of the location and help with my luggage to and from the room. It's such a quiet location. Easy to park by the door. Not too far (a drive) from the town if you need it.

I think the room could use a better pillow on the bed. But I slept comfortably.

Perfekte Lokation direkt am Atlantik mit prachtvollen Aussichten. Der Sonnenaufgang ist ein Erlebnis der Sonderklasse. Wie auch der Gastgeber Rolf, der sein ganzes Herzblut in dieses wunderbare Haus steckt, was dem ganzen Aufenthalt einen sensationellen persönlichen Touch gibt. Das Frühstück wie das Nachtessen waren outstanding. Wir könnten viele, viele Tage dort verbringen.

The B&B was a delight from the start to finish. The owner was incredibly attentive and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. The building itself is full of character and the stories behind it from made the stay memorable a perfect blend of history, comfort and a heartfelt hospitality. Highly highly recommend !

Old style property very quaint . A place for total relaxation and chill time . The host was amazing and the food was so good . Highly recommend .

No usb ports or tv but not a big issue as it made it nice and relaxing not to have but remember to bring a plug to charge your phone .

We absolutely loved our stay at Stella Maris Shore House. Every room offers stunning ocean views - so close you can hear the waves day and night. Breakfast and dinner were delicious, especially enjoyed in the glass-covered patio, which makes even stormy days feel cosy and special. But the real magic here is the people. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed, with locals and travellers alike enjoying this little place of paradise. And then there’s Rolf - the owner and heart of the place - whose kindness, humour, and dedication make you feel less like a guest and more like an “old” friend. We’ll be back the first chance we get. Thank you, Rolf and team, for making our stay so special.

Thank you for a most enjoyable weekend at Stella Maris Shore House. We loved everything about the experience and would recommend it highly. Rolf and team helped to make our time in Mayo unforgettable for all the right reasons!

The lovely welcome and great food and staff

Stella Maris provided the peace and quietness I was hoping for. I was welcomed on arrival by the owner Rolf and shown to a beautiful, comfortable room overlooking the bay. Breakfast - not the ‘one size fits all’ option that is so general - was cooked to order and tasted so fresh. The option to have dinner seemed to depend on the number of guests staying but was of an equally high standard. Great shower, great location and owner always available when needed.

Given the dearth of cafes / restaurants in Ballycastle - the nearest village - more certainty about a dinner option would have been appreciated. I stayed for 5 nights. Dinner was offered on 3 of those nights and, while the food served Honewas of a very high standard, the menu was the same every night.

Lovely decor in reception areas, terrific views across the bay and tranquil surroundings. The staff were superb, very attentive and helpful. Excellent food and very nice local beers.

Wonderful historic hotel on the coast with a view of Downpatrick Head. The hotel has very nice public areas and our large room was immaculately clean, quiet and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious with lots of options. Rolf was very attentive and even offered to prepare an evening meal since options are limited in the area.

Rolf was very welcoming and helpful. The Stella Maris is situated beautifully on the coast-views are spectacular. Only breakfast and tea are served but we found a great restaurant in Kilala. Ballycastle is convenient to Achill Island and other day-trip locations. Such a relaxing place to stay.

I.really can't think of anything except, with our bathroom being small, more shelving for toiletries would have been nice.

Everything was just perfect! The room was immaculate, comfortable bed and a superb bathroom with a bath. The breakfast was delicious, the staff were super, very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was so relaxing, it was a real get away from the busyness of life, the wine choice was excellent and Ralf was the perfect host!

Disappointing breakfast. Could have been OK but longlife juice and very small portions and cold porridge. Like they knew what they were doing - good at cooking but a bit driven by keeping the cost down. Given the price they could have been a little more generous.
