Lots of activities in the back yard. Many sitting areas to gather.
The bugs are bad at night. Need to stay out of the grassy areas and keep doors closed.
Rooms were fine.
Virtually no staff. No breakfast available. Almost no indoor congregation area.
Very convenient with so many activities available.
Quiet location close to town and trails . Nice balcony in our room. Great backyard
The “superior apartment” was a bit misrepresented on booking.com describing it as a separate bedroom and living room accommodation. Everything was in one room, a bit overpriced for what it was. The shower was uncomfortable and smelly shower curtains made me feel claustrophobic. The owner simply entered into our room while we had a private moment to show the room to other guests. Really dude? We didn’t feel privacy anymore
Wonderful location and clean, modern rooms including a small balcony nestled in the trees. Perfect for a peaceful morning coffee. The best part were the surroundings: idyllic location next to the river and a small beach, with a few activities like pétanque and ladder golf that our kids loved. Received helpful recommendations for kids activities in town. Would definitely recommend.
Excellent facilities. Although we spent a rainy day here, thanks to the large common area, availability of games, we had a great time. Even had an early morning campfire to avoid the rain.
Very nice rooms and great back yard space to enjoy after our family bike ride!
Lovely hosts. Super location next to the river. Many options to eat-in, bbq, enjoy views of the river.
Nothing.
Very clean, great location (walked into town for dinner and an amazing Saturday market, very close to P’tit train du Nord), had access to everything you would need. Owners on site and built a bon fire in the back yard for everyone to enjoy, very friendly!
Great place, very comfy. A little hard to find if one didn't already know the area.
On a beaucoup aimé notre séjour.
Lovely spot by the river and great guest kitchen and garden. Pub 10 minutes walk away
Room was quite small but nicely decorated and nice bathroom
Location was marvelous; the walk into town twice a day (less than 10 min) through the tiny, quieter side of the river felt, well, kind of magical. The night darkness, small dirt roads with intense tree canopy, interesting homes along the way, and the (June 2026) raging river over the rocks were all perfect. Weather sucked so we didn't use the water craft or sit along the water/make a fire, but we had a wonderful time in spite of it. We fell in love with Val David; it seems a lovely community not just to visit but to live. Staff were invisible but there with every small need eg., (an iron within 5 min of asking). Room was clean, comfortable, and allowed for a quick meal prep. I thought there was some type of breakfast, but I think that was my mistake. Teas/coffees were available at all hours in room and in hallway and the huge and pretty main floor kitchen looked great for those with bigger parties/who want to cook in. The town was tiny but more than enough to explore for 2-3 days. Some terrific restaurants (from fine dining to hippie healthy), farmer's market with local and kind of chichi gift type stuff, and a few nice thrift shops and finer shops as well as regular stores (grocery, etc.). We happened upon the kids's 'market day'- several dozen kids at one of the old churches selling countless little items they made- again, a little magical. Hop on a bike either free from the Inn or a fancier one in town and do at least part of the rail bike ride (Le Petit Nord, 240 km!) on the old railroad. Even a non- cyclist will love it. The adorable refurbished depot stops along the way offer everything from a nice glass of wine to a quick snack and water/bikes/repair, rest. Town seems to shut down by 10 pm or so. Everyone spoke enough English to work with our woefully monolingual selves. In another life, I will be Francophone, commit to only natural fibres, and raise hippie kids there. Will be back.
1) Would have loved even just some warmed up croissants or muffins or something. 2) Umbrella stand/shoe mats at front would be great; weather was crappy and hated to muck things up. 3) The a/c unit in the room is pretty noisy and will click on and off, or did for us. If you sleep with white noise machine, it will be fine. 4) A little map of town on the wall to orient you would be great
Nice location close to the trail for bikers. Big back yard on the river so you can go out and site by the water. Place to lock your bikes up. Nice rooms and clean.
All was good
We had a suite, looking after our own meals
We were given a ground floor suite, with windows looking onto the parking and entrance area. I think there was a mix-up as the reservation was for a second-floor "loft" suite.
Great location
We liked that everything was as described on the Oberge Booking.com site. It was impeccably clean, and it had everything we needed. The bed was very comfortable; there was a small fridge in our room and we had a nice view of the large backyard and of La Petite Rivière du Nord. The communal kitchen had everything we needed including coffee, sugar and honey.
It was very quiet because there was only one other guest there at the time as we were vacationing in between school holidays and Easter. That was really nice! We expect that it might be busier and louder in the summer when all the rooms are full.
Tout était parfait
Propreté et confort
Clean, cozy, well equipped and in a great location.
N/A
L'emplacement
Deers coming to backyard! Fire place in the snow :). Property is super clean and really nice. We really enjoyed the stay and will come again.
Wonderful spot we had a great barbeque with a great group of friends
We liked everything about the property. It was a charming spot.
Très bel endroit calme accueillant
Great location. Nice property
Like everything
Excellent stay in Val-David. As part of our four day P’tit Train du Nord bike ride we chose Oberge Inn as our final stop. Our room was comfortable and well equipped with a kitchenette. It had nice view over the riverside property. Our host was very friendly, we appreciated using the common kitchen and the outdoor lounging areas and bonfire to spend time with the couple we were travelling with and to meet the other guests. Although we did not use it, there is a small beach area for swimming and kayaking. The Inn is easily accessible from the bike path and has a secure area to store your bikes. Walking into centre of Val-David was a short stroll over a little bride on the Rivière du Nord.
Everything is first class about this property: the inside, the outside, the owners
Beautiful place
Établissement très accueillant Très reposant Calme Très propre
It’s a gem! Nice hosts, lots of opportunities to bike, swim, canoe etc. Whatever you have at home to prepare a meal, you have access to it here: fully equipped kitchen and outside 2 barbecues. We only stayed one night, but if we could have stayed several nights, would have enjoyed it thoroughly.
We liked everything!
Très bon emplacement
We loved this inn. Our room with a kitchenette was very well designed and had everything we needed to cook breakfast. We also could have cooked dinner there. The place was super clean and seemed to be recently renovated. The grounds were lovely; we wish we had spent more time there. We stayed a week while attending a music camp at a nearby lake. We highly recommend this beautiful inn.
Excellent location within walking distance to town and cycling trail Petit Train du Nord. Nice location in treed area and property extends to the river. Clean modern rooms and fully equipped kitchen (did not use)
Tout.
Rien
