Es la primera vez que tengo que escribir un comentario negativo de un hotel en más de una década usando Booking. Decidieron cancelar nuestra reserva y nos enviaron unos días antes del viaje un correo electrónico informándonos que nosotros debíamos cancelarla en la plataforma de Booking. Alegaron que tenían problemas con la habitación que nos habían asignado. Eso me pareció muy irregular. Llamé directamente al hotel dos días antes del viaje, y quien contestó me dijo que la reserva estaba bien. Cuando llegamos al hotel, nos dijeron que tenían a los concursantes y jueces del EVAFE y que no tenían habitaciones disponibles. Y que habían intentado varias veces comunicarse telefónicamente con nosotros pero no fue posible. Es decir, la culpa era nuestra por no responder sus llamadas. La recepcionista contactó a varios hoteles cercanos, y afortunadamente había disponibilidad en uno; pero en un fin de semana con mayor demanda hubiera sido una situación más compleja de resolver. El hotel que nos recomendó queda en una calle con un billar al frente y no pudimos dormir. Tuvimos que cambiar de hotel al siguiente día, lo que al final duplicó los costos planeados de alojamiento. En general, la falta de profesionalismo de este hotel afectó todo nuestro viaje a Valledupar.

A beautiful colonial-style hotel with traditional charm. The breakfast was delicious, and the staff were friendly and attentive. Note that speaking Spanish is helpful. The bed was super comfortable, ensuring a great night's rest. Highly recommend for a genuine, cozy experience!

Beyond grateful to the Boutique. They were incredibly friendly, happy to help and went beyond for us. The hotel is in a great location. It’s very clean and the garden is beautiful. A very peaceful stay. Thank you!

A wonderful, historic building in the best part of Valledupar. Excellent breakfast with offerings that we didn't encounter elsewhere in Colombia (like cayeye, yum!). We had a very early departure on our last day (4 a.m.!) and the sweet young man working that night insisted on packing us a breakfast to go, for which we were very grateful. It's a very quiet and tranquil place, and if you love vernacular and historic architecture, you'll appreciate it even more.

If you want a particular room, be sure to ask for it and document the communication. I specifically asked for a room in the historic part of the building because of my interest in and appreciation for the architecture. As we were driving to the hotel, I checked my reservation and saw that it showed the specific room I had booked. When we arrived and checked in, we were shown to one of the modern rooms. It's alright but I can get that kind of room anywhere—I chose this hotel for its history. When I opened my app to show the staffer who took us to the room, the reservation had changed to show a modern room. Before I could even say anything, the staffer said "I didn't change anything about the reservation!" I showed her the conversation that I had had about requesting a historic room, and she said they were all taken. I was upset, but resigned to it and she left. Shortly thereafter, she returned and said that they would make an exception and give us the room I originally booked. I definitely appreciated that, but it seemed like a bit of a bait and switch—not to mention that the hotel was definitely not fully booked as we were told.

The hotel is so beautiful, very nice looking interior design and have a pretty garden at the backyard. 3 different patios with beautiful plants and has a nice small swiming pool with a nice sound of a waterfall below a mango tree. A really nice breakfast !!! The staff was really kind y warm. The bedrooms are so cousy and confy.

The location seems to be not very secure, but they have police officers close to the area. Our general impresion of Valledupar is that the city is not very secure.

Great experience. I would rate this hotel and the people who manage and operate this location as exceptional. The hotel has a great atmosphere. It used to be a home that was converted to a hotel so it has a great personality and the rooms were very comfortable. The grounds are lovely and the breakfast is top-notch. Anything you needed the staff went out of their way to make sure you were satisfied.

The hotel was an amazing colonial house filled with beautiful furniture and paintings. One feels at home!! The garden is stunning with wild tropical plants that flower and brighten the place up. Along with this the beautiful sound of the exotic birds everyday!! The hosts Cristina and Miguel are amazing warm people that welcome you into the house offering the best service. The staff are very kind and welcoming too and always have a smile on their faces. Truly amazing place in a beautiful town. A town so culturally rich that one trip isn’t enough to see it and learn it all! We are definitely coming back and bringing more people from the UK 🇬🇧

A wonderful ideally centrally located and marvellously decorated historical house dating back from 1680. The staff are amazingly friendly and professional. They took excellent care of us. Rooms are spacious and nicely decorated with a very comfortable bed. The garden is a haven of greenery. Breakfast is nice and quickly served with delicious coffee, fresh fruit juice and exquisite pan blandito. Furthermore, Wi-Fi is extremely fast and there is a spacious car park free of charge nearby. The only drawback we could identify was the slightly cool water in the bathroom.

This is everything you could ask for in a boutique hotel. As well as all the modern comforts you would hope for, this lovely restored building is tastefully decorated with the most beautiful colourful paintings from local artists. Every detail seems to have been considered, down to the hand painted basins in the bathrooms. The garden is a sheer delight, a piece of paradise with the flowering trees - this is where we had breakfast in the morning and of course beer and wine in the evening! We travel a lot and stay in some lovely places but this one will live long in the memory. Like Valledupar, it's a well kept secret, and easy to get to from the coast. Highly recommended.

If you go to Valledupar, this is the best place to stay. Not only beautiful and clean but the service is outstanding. Perfect location and the owners are wonderful people who stayed on top of every little detail to make sure our stay was perfect. 100% recommended.
