Sehr schön eingerichtetes Haus mit vielen Antiquitäten, sehr stilvoll. Sehr freundliches Personal.
Etwas hellhörig, andere Gäste gut zu hören.
Extremely friendly and accommodating. A lovely family run business💫💫💫💫💫
Lovely people. Interesting, quirky decor. Breakfast was great. Would definitely use again if ever in the area.
El personal muy amable
Que no tenía ascensor
A really nice place to stay and staff were so helpful and welcoming! Highly recommend for a stay in Dundalk.

This place is on another level.....will 100% be back...!! Thanks very much for your kindness.!
Not one thing
Lots and lots of character. Very close to railway station and football ground—less than 10 minutes walk. Close to town too and eating places. Excellent cooked breakfast.
Not the fault of the property but one of the other guests was noisy closing the door several times about midnight 😬
Wow wow wow. This property is excellent for either overnight stay or longer. Period furniture and relaxing rooms abound. Host Helena was amazing as well as all staff. Highly recommend.
Everything.
10/10 excellent all around!
The house is amazing; full of intrigue. The host and staff were very friendly. We were very kindly allowed to park our motorbikes in the small yard at the back of the house.
A few minor repairs to items in the room would be good.
Very accomodating and extremely warm welcome. Fine place.
Staff member just walking into the room as if no one there and then when they see you ask if you need anything...worrying and totally unacceptable. Thankfully I was dressed but my husband was in the shower. Absolutely no way that should happen and no excuses t khat it's for good service follow up. Breakfast was cold but tasty. The black pudding was that hard that neither my fork or teeth could get into. Honestly we knocked good craic out of that, so I am not exaggerating. No menu to let you know what is available. Took order but had to repeatedly ask for bits that were forgotten. Just get the order right and leave us alone to enjoy the breakfast. 3 star and no more but to be honest I would stay again but 1 night only.
Big room, comfortable bed, great location

Lovley staff but the carpet smelled horrible! Bed was comfortable but no air conditioning! There were black hairs in shower! Breakfast was good and staff friendly
Carpet in my room smelt very bad
Breakfast was lovely and plenty of it.
Good location just a 15 minute walk to town centre. Restaurants and bars even closer. On street parking outside. A very quaint well maintained guest house with lovely customer service. Has an eclectic mix of guests!!
Not a huge breakfast choice.
Comfortable

Die freundliche Kommunikation des Personals und der Gäste, weil man sich sehr gut aufgenommen fühlt.
The staff were lovely - Tim and Helena were very welcoming and helpful - the house is big and full of character and very well placed for the train station and the town.
Location was awesome, short walk to pubs and restaurants. The traditional Irish Breakfast was really good. Really friendly hosts, we will go back again when we visit Ireland next!
Lovely room , great location, delicious breakfast and friendly breakfast staff
Very close to rail station, excellent breakfast, nothing was a problem at all, everybody was very helpfull and I would reccomend this for a stay.
nothing realy.
Ontbijt was uitstekend, gastvrouw heel vriendelijk
temperatuur niet te regelen op de kamer ( te warm)
Great Irish hospitality, beautiful property and great location.
Nothing, we will definitely stay here again.
A lovely warm welcome from our delightful hostess who went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable and happy. Glen Gat House has an eclectic collection of antiques which added to its ambience and charm. Parking was on the street but it wasn’t a problem. Breakfast was good with added extras which suited our dietary requirements. Thank you.
EVERYTHING is fabulous! The owners go above and beyond to make you feel so welcome! They feel like family to me especially travelling solo it does feel a little lonely at times. Breakfast is outstanding! The room I love I always get if I just ask it feels like home to home and when I arrive I'm always stressed after staying here It makes me a relaxed human again which i much need at times! It's my go to place as no where else is as good as this everything moments walk away and all I need is all facing me! Thankyou again and keep up all the fantastic work I love you so much xxx
Beautiful rooms and beautiful house. The staff were incredible and Helena in particular was so friendly and such a brilliant host.
Lots of character
Nothing
It’s location was excellent. The staff very friendly and breakfast was filling.
My only complaint was the bathroom fan was noisy. That’s it!
A few of us went to see a band and agreed to stay in a B and B as we would have done as teens. I have stayed in.a.few'posh hotels' and Glen.Gat House beats them hands down. Staff/management and certainly owners were unbelievably good. ABSOLUTELY NO FAULT WITH OUR STAY. Even got a free run.to the band🖐🖐🖐🖐🖐
There is nothing to dislike here...not possible
Exceptional guest house. Helena is an incredible hostess who went above and beyond for us. The breakfast was excellent also.

Was about to accommodate leaving my bicycle in a convenient and secure location
Very friendly will definitely return
it was a beautiful victorian style building, decorated and furnished accordingly, there was an eclectic collection of furniture, art and curiosities and ornaments throughout also book collections. i loved the homely feel about the place.
i have no complaints about this place, it was great.
Lovely friendly staff , highly recommend
All good
The welcome was second to none and the location to town centre. The beds were very comfortable and breakfast was hot and delicious
There is no lift and as its an older house stairwells were tight, although added to thd charm
The Brrakfast staff were very friendly and the breakfast was good and generous but I will never stay again... I cannot get that smell out of my nose despite showering when I returned home
The place smelt like an ashtray.... it was disgusting through the entirety of the building... when we arrived there was no one at reception .... and that trend continued throughout the stay.... our room had dirty pillow cases and two hand towels from the previous occupation laying on a counter... one of the towels on our bed was soaking wet and wet the bed and later stained the counter when we moved it....
A fabulous place to stay! The atmosphere is beautifully created, with unique decorations that make you feel like you're escaping the stresses of daily life. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Tomas, from the breakfast area, was especially great to talk to, and our conversation really made me want to move here soon. Tim, who helped me with check-in and is apparently the owner, was also very friendly, helpful, and caring. Thank you very much, Tim! The food was delicious, and the room was comfortable, with everything I needed. I highly recommend this place and wish them continued success, they deserve it!
Me gustó mucho la habitación, la tranquilidad y el desayuno 100 puntos.
Muy agradecido fue un buen fin de semana y todo me gustó.
Hostess was very helpful, drove us into town centre
TV was located too high on the wall
Very friendly staff. Good location.
The room was too warm....would be good to be able to turn off the radiators ourselves rather than having to try and open windows
Really Beautiful
Nothing to dislike
És un allotjament preciós. La decoració és exquisida, el tracte més que correcte, l'esmorzar molt bo.
Res, tu tot és més que correcte.
Breakfast was lovely, exactly what I ordered. Location was great for the town. On street parking outside was available. The sheets were clean & the bed was comfortable.
There was a smell of food when I arrived in the reception area. The room wasn't clean, dusty & didn't look hoovered. The bathroom wasn't clean and also had unnecessary Mold in the shower.
Great location, just a short walk from the town centre. The property was clean, and the staff were super friendly and helpful! The breakfast was great too!
Nice place
Breakfast finish early
Atmospheric, comfortable, clean and quiet with an excellent breakfast
nothing
This was one of the nicest B&B's I ever stayed in , a fantastic Edwardian themed property with plenty of antiques to admire , luxury sitting rooms. The beds were comfy and the rooms well heated , Full Irish Breckfast and great value for money in my opinion, it's central location makes it within walking distance of the many bars resturants.
God frokost. Hyggelige lokaler.

Comfortable bed and nice breakfast.
The room was small with an outraged shower and fittings. Very overpriced for what's on offer. The price compared with that of a boutique or higher end accommodation but provides lower end of the market facilities.
Location . Customers service and the breakfast was lovely , all in all a lovey place to stay easy check in and a very comfortable room . Would definitely stay again when we’re back in Dundalk.
Nothing
Staff were super friendly and went that little bit extra that made the difference
Nothing comes to mind
The staff and location are spectacular. So kind and welcoming and hugely helpful. Loveliest people !!! They had great suggestions for dinner, music and entertainment which was just a short walk nearby. This really made our stay!
Very comfortable and lovely staff
The younger manager/owner was very nice, heating in room was good and the water always hot.
Breakfast was cold ( on the first day) but fine our last day..
Very friendly and helpful staff, excellent accommodation and very good service and food
Nothing
Friendly staff, good location, excellent breakfast and off street parking option. Despite being on a busy road the room was quiet.
The pressure in the shower was poor and the towels were starting to get tired.
I'd booked this B&B as the location was ideal for me; was just down the road from my work's christmas function. Helena was extremely helpful and the perfect Hostess. The Bed was comfy, room was spotless and the bathroom was clean and spacious. Breakfast the following morning was excellent too.
La decoración es preciosa y el personal muy generoso y simpático.
The staff were ever so friendly and helpful
Great place, the staff couldn’t have done more to make our stay more enjoyable Highly recommended
The location was perfect close to city centre.
The team at Glen Gat are amazing, super friendly. Also loved my breakfast. Great location a few minutes walk to the train station line that runs between Dublin and Belfast.
Hospitality was the best I've ever received
Nothing the stay was faultless
Glen Gat House is such a great place that I would strongly recommend it to anyone who plans to come to visit Dundalk. It has not only a great location, but also wonderful services. Guests would easily feel at home at Glen Gat House. Its manager, Helena, is very kind and helpful. She even helped us secure our first lease in Dundalk and make various purchases through her local friends and connections. We couldn’t think of a better way to start our life in Dundalk. A big thank you to Helena and his wonderful family!
Location was what we wanted, close to town.
Expensive.
Very lovely stay

What guests love
Areas to consider
Cleanliness
7.5/10Multiple guests noted cleanliness issues: carpet in one room smelled strongly, black hairs found in the shower, and a few minor housekeeping concerns — lowers this category below average.
Service
9.5/10Hosts (Helena, Tim) repeatedly described as very welcoming and helpful; staff friendly and accommodating overall. A few service lapses noted (staff entering a room unannounced, forgotten breakfast items), but the overwhelmingly positive personal attention justifies a high score.
Location
9.5/10Consistently praised as very convenient: short walk to the railway station, town centre, pubs, restaurants and football ground; excellent for sightseeing and transport connections.
Room Quality
9/10Rooms described as characterful, period furniture, comfortable beds and relaxing; some minor repair needs mentioned but overall high quality and comfort.
Amenities
9/10Amenities noted include parking options (on-street and a small yard for motorbikes) and a well-maintained guest house vibe; some guests noted lack of air conditioning and limited breakfast choice as minor drawbacks.
Value for Money
8.8/10Guests generally felt the stay was worth it and would return; one guest described it as '3 star and no more' for service issues, but many praised the character and hospitality, supporting a slightly above-target score.
Food and Beverage
8.8/10Breakfast repeatedly praised as excellent and plentiful by many guests, though a few reported cold items, a very hard black pudding and occasional service/ordering issues; overall positive but with some inconsistencies.
Overall Experience
9.1/10Overall sentiment is strongly positive: many guests describe a lovely, characterful stay with welcoming hosts and comfortable rooms; isolated negatives (cleanliness, a privacy incident, breakfast service) temper but do not outweigh the experience.
