Upea näkymä luontoon, erittäin ystävällinen asiakaspalvelu, erittäin siisti ja viihtyisä huone.
Ei mitään moitittavaa!
It’s truly a once in a lifetime magical experience. A hidden gem making for the most perfect setting. Staff were really friendly and supportive during our stay Breakfast in the igloo was perfect
When you arrive, if it’s dark and you have to make your way to your igloo it can be difficult and slippy to see
Monden design with a large bed in nature. We wen for a ski and did an experience. Breakfast was good and nice to have in the main building.

Location and accommodation absolutely amazing. Can honestly say everything exceeded expectations we are a family of 6 and had the most magical night. We stayed NYE and the staff were so friendly and accommodating. They provided free tapas food/snacks a complimentary drink and did a firework display too. There were open fires outside, games, sledges everything you need. Could not recommend enough. We hired the hot tub and sauna for 2 hours which was lovely but very expensive at 275 euros. Think this needs to be cheaper but other than this book yourself a magical night away. We didn’t want to go to sleep as the views were so stunning
Everything's was good, very friendly and helpful staff, the iglot was fully equipped and magical, the breakfast was good and activities are very close to the location.
Nada
Absolutely stunning setting. The staff were extremely accommodating and breakfast was delicious. Sauna and spa were heavenly to unwind in after a full day in the beautiful surroundings. Close to restaurants in Ruka, hiking trails and shops.
Restaurant was closed.
Aamiainen tuotiin suoraan majoituspaikkaan.
Amazing special place in the middle of the nature. We managed to see the northern lights from our cabin and it was an incredible experience.
- no room service for 3 day stay - no wifi - only 2 coffee pads for the whole stay - no windows that can be opened, bad air - sauna costs €275 extra - no shuttle to the city (without a car you are trapped) - bathroom much too small (only wet room) - fat bikes were broken, they wanted €80 for 2 hours - very unfriendly staff - no space at all in the ponds, really little! - restaurant currently closed, no information about this in advance - no shuttles to the city Summary: for the price of a 5* hotel you get 1* accommodation with very unfriendly staff - never again!!!
Stunning scenery, wonderful staff, fantastic location beside lots of activities and close to Ruka village. The igloos were clean and comfortable and warm. We were lucky enough to see the northern lights from the igloos, would certainly recommend!
NA
The ponds are beautiful, IF you get a good one. The lake and the snow is nice to look at and you may even get some northernlights, there is a cafe (Lammintupa) across the lake that has huskys, reindeers and snowmobiles, so that was nice to do. Breakfast was okay but very small and simple.
The rooms are small, you can't even have 2suitcases on the floor. There is no real bathroom, it is a wetroom with NO shampoo/soap or anything, even after I told them it was empty i didn't get any for 3days. There is no roomservice at all, so noone makes the bed or cleans anything. For the love of god, do NOT eat in the "restaurant" it isn't a restaurant at all, they do not have a kitchen there, the food is cantinastyle constantly reheated, you pay 80Euros/Person for food that you can't eat. If you leave out the breakfast it's basically an AIRBNB you need to use the taxi that is 30-40euros/way to ruka if you want to eat.
the glass igloo
Since the space is so small, the minimum expected is that they take out the trash in the bathroom, since the shower is in the same space, that they refill the coffee and that, since it is a remote hotel, they sell some food in the cafeteria because they do not have or sell you anything. I wrote to reserve and pay for a surprise breakfast and they never contacted me to confirm and have any details until the day of the birthday when we were already leaving the hotel...
The only thing I truly liked about the hotel was the breathtaking view. The scenery was absolutely stunning and made the stay feel special. Additionally, the staff was friendly and helpful, which was a positive aspect of the experience. The breakfast was good
There were several things I didn’t like about the hotel. The location was extremely isolated, so without a car, it was very difficult to get around, and taxis were too expensive. The rooms were very small, and there was no daily room service, meaning my room was never cleaned, towels were never changed, and the mini-bar was never refilled during my entire stay. Additionally, there was no Wi-Fi inside the igloos, only at the reception, which was a 3-5 minute walk away. Food options were also a big issue. The lounge only offered small snacks, not full meals, and the main restaurant was fully booked most of the time—I was only able to eat there once in four days. Everything was overpriced, and I even paid €24 for a bowl of soup. Lastly, the bathroom towels were terrible and definitely not what you’d expect from a 5-star hotel. Overall, aside from the view, the hotel was disappointing.
Amazing staff and beautiful views and nature walks
Had a very nice stay at Magical Pond. Breakfast was great. Rooms are small, but that was expected. Definitely more of a couples place, but our kids were welcomed and enjoyed their experience as well.
We had an absolutely unforgettable stay at Magical Pond in Ruka, Finland, during the Christmas holidays. From the moment we arrived, we were immersed in a magical atmosphere that felt straight out of a fairy tale. The place is truly enchanting, with breathtaking nature and a warm ambiance that immediately charmed us. The hotel, intimate and cozy, offered the perfect setting for enjoying quality family time. Our two-year-old son loved playing in the snow, and the outdoor space, with stunning views of the frozen lake and snowy forests, was perfect for peaceful walks. The owners of the hotel, incredibly kind and welcoming, made a world of difference. They were always available to offer advice and little thoughtful gestures that made our stay even more enjoyable. Their warm hospitality truly made us feel at home, even though we were far away from it. The rooms were very comfortable, perfectly suited to the needs of a family with a young child. We especially appreciated the impeccable cleanliness and the attention to detail. The breakfast was delicious, featuring fresh, local products – a perfect way to start the day with energy. If you’re looking for a peaceful, magical, and authentic place to spend a memorable Christmas holiday, we highly recommend Magical Pond. It’s a place where nature, comfort, and hospitality come together to create an unforgettable experience. A huge thank you to the owners for their hospitality and kindness. We can’t wait to return!
Nothing
Finland is great. Views lovely. The staff were nice. We enjoyed Andy at dinner - he did a great job and was the highlight of the stay.
Instagram influencers were out in full force. Rooms are tiny and boiling hot. The underfloor heating literally made the floor lava and the room unbearably hot. No where to move in the room with our luggage. Glad we didn’t stay long. Would not go back.
Everything was perfect!! The service, the receptionists, the room... Nothing to complain about..
i was a bit dissapointed because there were no snow when we arrived but this place is just magical even with snow or not. I really enjoyed our stay, our little walk in the wilderness, the breakfast, everything was great. Hoping to come back 🫶
✨ **A Truly Enchanting Stay at Magical Pond Glass Cabins!** ✨ My recent stay at the Magical Pond glass cabins in Finland was nothing short of spectacular. From the moment I arrived, the staff’s exceptional kindness stood out; they went above and beyond to ensure every aspect of my stay was perfect. Their warmth and hospitality truly surpassed all expectations. The cabins themselves were a haven of comfort and luxury. The interiors were beautifully designed, creating an incredibly cozy and inviting atmosphere. The views were simply impeccable—waking up to the stunning natural landscape was a highlight of the trip. There's plenty to do in the surrounding area, too. Whether you're into hiking, exploring local attractions, or just soaking in the serene environment, there's something for everyone. Overall, my experience at the Magical Pond glass cabins was unforgettable, and I can't recommend it highly enough to anyone looking for a magical escape.
Nothing negative to say. Even the bathroom heated floor was amazing.
Check in staff was very cheerful and helpful. Breakfast was sufficient. Basic but enough. The igloo had a well fitted bathroom!
The Igloo was dominated by and over large odd shaped bed. There was no room for anything else, no where to put luggage, no where to sit but on the bed.
Nice property, except for very little storage in cabins.
Easily the most beautiful place I have ever stayed at. The juxtaposition between the stunning natural beauty and the stunning modern buildings is incredible.
The location is absolutely gorgeous and the cabins, although tiny, are absolutely beautiful. We enjoyed our time by the bonfire and watched northern lights from here. They even have snow shoes available to go hike some of the trails around. Beautiful stay which is close to the ski town of Ruka which has plenty of food options. It was nice that the breakfast is included in the morning. Ruka Pizza was amazing gormet pizza we ate.
No coffee or snack is kept for the guests through out the day in the reception area, which I'd think would be basic for the price you pay. The reception area closes at 9pm and you need to make reservation for dinner at their restaurant which can get full pretty quickly.
Unique setting
Wasn’t as isolated as pictures made out and restaurant was very poor
Beautiful location
Unique location in the middle of nowhere. Breakfast with high quality and local products. Would 100% reccomend.
Very good location and employees
Igloos are very small, it seemed bigger on pictures. Also i would prefer more choice for breakfast, like fried eggs or pancakes.
The location is a must, very suggestive, in the middle of the Forest. Other "Igloos" are spaced enough to be not too near. Modern structure. Very kind receptionist. Possibility of having breakfast to go since we left at 6:30.
Small room. Shower is open, that means the bathroom gets flooded. The food in the bar is very basic and the restaurant is not always open, this means taking a taxi to Ruka at 30.00 euros each way. Since the room is small, we did not understand the usefulness of dedicating space to the small kitchen which has no possibility of heating or cooking food. It is not so easy to sleep well, due to the shape of the bed which is not square.
What a wonderful place. Calm and serene with beautiful surrounding forest. Waking up, seemed a bit like a fairy tail. There are also winter activities accessible around, some even within walking distance.
It is unfair for this type of accommodation to be rated on a Booking.com review. Yes, the room is very small. But the whole experience is far beyond a typical hotel. The scenery, the view from the room, the stars, the northern lights, the tranquility. Just magical..
Everything was better than expected..
Amazing location in the middle of nowhere, yet easily accessible from Ruka. Clean and tidy room, comfy bed and obviously wonderful views. Friendly staff, everything went smoothly. We had dinner at the restaurant, the 3 course dinner was very tasty and atmosphere in the restaurant was romantic and intimate. Breakfast was great, not the biggest selection but definitely fresh and good quality. Overall this truly was a magical place.
I loved everything, but I felt like there was a lot of bright lights on during the night and was a bit worried it might make it difficult to see northern lights. Also I would suggest not bringing big suitcases as there's not much space for luggage in the room.
The location is so magical. We have never been to anywhere like this place. The customer service is truly the best! We sent an email about arriving late at night (reception closes at 11pm), they sent instructions about how to access our cabin, so check in was seamless. Reception also gave us a portable wifi connector when we mentioned we could not get wifi connection in our cabin. They went out of their way to pack our breakfast the night before we check out as we were leaving before breakfast starts (breakfast starts at 9am). Lammintupa is 10min walk away and truly a peaceful and magical walk. The only (minor) negative things were the bathroom towels were not the fluffy kind, felt more like a giant tea towel and the cabin is actually quite small. We took out the things we need from the suitcases, store them in the compartments available next to the bed and kept them closed throughout our stay. There were no rooms to keep 2 luggages open.
Magical igloo with an amazing view, located in the forest. The surroundings are just breath taking. Just nearby the resort, there's a place with a lot of activities which is very convenient.
Breakfast could be better.
Beautifully magical
Didn’t have evening meal as wasn’t much choice
Our stay here was magical. It was definitely an experience we will remember for a very long time. The staff were very friendly and happily called to order taxis for us. You have to come here prepared. We knew we wouldn’t book dinner here so we made sure we had enough food supplies so we didn’t have to rely off of going into town every meal. The rooms are lovely and cozy. We made it work with two large suitcases and carry on luggage. The heated flooring was amazing.
Great breakfast, super prompt taxi service which reception can conveniently arrange for you. Beautiful views, clean rooms and friendly people!
We liked it all!
Beautiful location, very helpful and friendly staff. Delicious breakfast with great coffee. We were surprised with a nice chocolate bar on Christmas Day. Everything was magical!!
The igloos are really tiney. But still worth the stay!
Good breakfast, excelent staff and very helpfull. Peacefull stay with great view.
tinny house but didn't ruin the experience
The place is indeed magical! Beautiful scenery, great accomodations, good breakfast and nice staff! There is a nice trail that you can walk, and you can use their snowshoes for free.
The place is a bit far from the town, which would not be a problem if there was a way to reach the Ruka village without having a car. There is no public transportation that can take you there, and taxi is quite expensive (25-30 euros each leg). THERE IS NO WAY TO EAT unless you pay 30 euros on delivery (which is more expensive than the food itself), or 60 (back and forth) to get a taxi to town. The hotel has a restaurant which was closed during our stay, so not helpful at all. I think it should be more clear that you have to either own a car or be prepared for not having food there.
Everything
We celebrated my husband’s birthday here and we had the most perfect stay and experience. The cozy glass igloo and the snowy landscape is such a perfect combination. We enjoyed the quiet arctic night at the same time felt so close to nature. The staff were kind, helpful and amazing. We were also given welcome drinks. The breakfast is fantastic. Their little cafe/ restaurant is such a vibe. The price you pay for this stay is absolutely worth it. I would highly recommend.
The bed is very spacious but there’s not enough space if you bring too many luggages. We used the space in the toilet to keep baby’s stroller. The igloo can only be accessed by taxi from Ruka village so better have everything you need before coming to the igloo as there will be no shops around.
Werde nicht nochmal wiederkommen
So the only (big) rub is...I didn't know when I booked that it was the "off season". That mean's (1) no desk staff for the majority of the day, and alarmingly, the entire lobby area is locked from the outside during that time, and (2) the restaurant is not open at all. The first one was concerning given that I got dropped off by a cab in zero degree weather at night, not great if something goes wrong and I can't get into my cabin. The 2nd one was a big deal for me; I really was sold on the idea of lounging on the property for 2 days and not leaving (for meals). Scrounging for dinner was an unexpected, expensive, and interruptive negative to my short stay. Understand if the resort wants to go into eco-lodge mode, just be clear about it. This is a small one, but worth noting (staff) - I stayed in Igloo 4. The outside entry light of Igloo 5 reflects *directly* into the middle of the ceiling glass of Igloo 4 at night, which kind of kills the stargazing experience. Very nitpicky, not worth complaining about, and certainly nothing the designers could have predicted....but I would consider making those lights motion activated like the fireside lighting. That said, Kata is great, the breakfast was wonderful, the igloo was perfect, and I would definitely come back. I walked through the short trail behind the property and stumbled on a ~9 mile well marked cross country ski path, which conveniently goes right by the Ruka ski resort (read: lunchtime pint to break up the trail walk!)
Breakfast was good and fresh! Location is quiet and far away from shops and restaurants. Igloo felt really private, far more better than regular hotel room.
You really can't know which igloo you will get. Others have better views. Although breakfast was good, it was pretty basic when thinking about the luxurious brand and the price of the stay.
Stylish & functional Peaceful Magical
Amazing!
Ihana, lämmin nukkumapaikka revontulineen. Mukava henkilökunta ja kauniisti katettu aamupala.
The view from the room was amazing
The wifi was almost nonexistent.
I really loved this peaceful place, the igloo is nice & comfortable.
Absolutely beautiful property and stay. The reception staff could not be more attentive. We arrived late tired and starving and they accommodated us and got us snacks (best chessboard of the week). Free snowshoes to borrow just outstanding!
We had a great stay at Magical Pond. The view was lovely and the surroundings were serene. All the staff was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the breakfast each morning and we had a night with a wonderful display of the northern lights.
Amazing view of the snowy forest from the cabin. The location was even better than we imagined and you could see it all just laying on the enormous bed!
The bathroom was basic and there was no space at all in the room (you cannot keep 2 luggages open together). But the overall experience was great! ***The google maps location is wrong, beware!
-Admiring the aurora from the huge bed; -Snowshoeing and sledding (the rental is free!); -Welcome drink and coffee machine in the igloo; -Remote location; -Friendly staff.
- incredible location & beautiful views over the nature only (from Cabin Nr. 3 at least) - very nice staff, very helpful, arranging and friendly - great breakfast
2 things can be improved: - a daily make-up of the room (not necessarily new bed sheets, but just a quick make-up) including the replacement of dirty dishes with clean ones would have been appreciated - the window of the bathroom is useless (can't be opened and does not bring much light into the cabin) BUT it is a bit disappointing at night when your neighbors let the light on and you cannot enjoy a real dark night > maybe you could cover the windows at least in winter to avoid light disturbances
amazing location, lovely personnel, spectacular views, nature at its best
breakfast was poor, the meal at the restaurant was disappointing (3 dishes which had been prepared elsewhere and not freshly cooked upon ordering), no slippers, no amenities (except an one for all dispenser in the bathroom)
The views from the room ofcourse :-). A very good breakfast. Walking on the walking trail around the property with snowshoes and walking sticks provided by the hotel. Great staff.
Nothing really. Just that the room is small but can't complain about it. Everything else compensated the space :-)
If you want to unplug and relax, this is the place. Staff was wonderful, all of them. But Laura and Heli were amazing. ❤️
Otroligt fin miljö, med lugn omgivning. Behagligt. Men annars toppen!
