Rooms are very nice and quiet location. Friendly staff

The rooftop is nice but the transparent roof made it practically into a greenhouse, super hot, completely nonsense because the view is amazing and it looks nice. Also not a single fan was working and the coffee machine too (probably they did not want to turn it on and clean it, we were the only hosts in low season). Without telling us the staff prepared us an English breakfast, which we (Italians) do not like at all. But staff was very friendly and ask what we wanted for the next breakfast.

We had a pleasant stay at Scenic Bay in Weligama. The hotel is in a great location, and the staff were friendly and welcoming throughout our visit. One thing we really appreciated was their help with our electric tuk tuk. They kindly assisted us in charging it and made sure we had everything we needed, which was especially helpful after a long day of driving. Their willingness to help made our stay much more convenient. The breakfast was enjoyable, and overall we had a comfortable experience. Thank you to the team for their kindness and hospitality.

We came to stay here with our friends, and it was actually my friend who recommended this hotel saying it was good. Honestly, it turned out even better than I expected. The cleanliness is excellent, everything was very well maintained. The staff are very friendly and helpful, which made our stay even more comfortable. It is truly great value for money. Because of how much we enjoyed our stay, we decided to extend and stay here for two days. Highly recommended

It’s just a short walk to the beach, We came with a group of friends, and upon our request, the hotel kindly arranged rooms close to each other. The staff were very helpful, friendly, and accommodating. We truly appreciated their kindness and had a great stay.

Wir waren 6 Nächte dort. Es hat uns sehr gut gefallen!! Das Hotelpersonal war sehr freundlich! Es gab eine Rooftop Bar/Cafè (mit guter Musik) in dem wir jeden Morgen gefrühstückt haben. Es gab eine sehr gute Auswahl an a la carte Frühstück und sehr guten Kaffee. Man konnte auch Mittag- bzw Abendessen dort. Auch das war sehr lecker (von Burger bis Bowls). Die Köche haben sich sehr viel Mühe gegeben! Der Ausblick von dort war Wahnsinn, weil man so hoch oben war. Es wurde jeden Tag das Zimmer sauber gemacht und wir haben jeder eine neue Flasche Wasser erhalten. Sehr gute Klimaanlage und sehr geräumiges Zimmer und großes, sehr sauberes Bad mit Regendusche. Bequemes Bett, TV und Safe vorhanden. Das Hotel ist insgesamt ein wenig versteckt, dadurch aber in ruhiger Lage. Zwar fanden wir Weligama an sich weniger spannend,aber man ist dort gut gelegen um viele Orte und Strände zu besuchen. Wir würden wieder kommen! :)

Das Zimmer hat hohe Decken und große Fenster zum Balkon die so sauber waren dass man dachte die Fenster seien offen. Insgesamt war alles sehr sauber und gepflegt. Von der Oberen Etage kann man auch das Meer durch Häuser/Bäume erkennen. Das Roof Top Restaurant serviert sehr kreativ gestaltete Speisen und die junge Crew ist sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Der Cappuccino ist der beste den wir in Sri Lanka bekommen haben.

Ein Aufzug wäre nicht schlecht und wenn im Café die Stühle bewegt werden hört man es in den Zimmern darunter sehr deutlich

The staff were very friendly and cooperative. The location is prime. The room was clean and well maintained.

The staff was bit short handed as they worked at the restaurant and the reception so sometimes empty and head to go to the rooftop restaurant for requests. Besides that everything is worth recommending.

Das Personal war sehr nett, es gab frische Handtücher und mein Zimmer wurde jeden Tag gereinigt. Wasser, Tee und Kaffee wurde kostenlos bereitgestellt.

Das Essen auf der Terrasse sah sehr gut aus, es hat aber nicht so gut geschmeckt. Das Brot war öfter weich und wabbelig. Die Ausstattung in meinem Zimmer war sehr heruntergekommen und abgenutzt . Die Lage ist nicht ganz so optimal, man geht schon 20 Minuten bis zum Strand/Einkaufsladen.

Location of property was not as stated. No one on reception on arrival lots of stairs . To be fair the bathroom was really good Beds were Very Hard. Kettle had no plug socket no explanation regarding meal times lots of young persons work but the chef was very very good

Терраса с видом на океан, обдувается вентиляторами, поэтому комфортно в любое время дня. Отель стоит в отдалении от шумных дорог, поэтому комфортно и тихо.

Очень долгое ожидание завтраков. В среднем нужно закладывать час от момента прихода в кафе.

I was looking forward to staying here because the reviews were good.. unfortunately I was with a group and they refused to stay, so we cancelled. The rooms looked nice and comfy.

There is an extremely strong, horrible air freshener smell pervading the whole building. I wouldn't be able to sleep unless I was able to get rid of it. The area is less than salubrious, down a narrow back street, and there's not much of a view even from the roof.

Very nice breakfast. One of the best what we got in Sri Lanka. Restaurant is also good for a dinner. Friendly staff.

Proper clean rooms, with soft pillows and normal duvet, what is very rare in Srilanka according to our experience. As well as towels were in good condition. Very nice menu for breakfast, but if you would like to have proper coffee, this is for additional payment.

Очень тихо и комфортно. Спать приятно! Изначально ожидали, что номер будет побольше (как на фото). В моменте разочаровались когда увидели номер. Меньше ожидаемого, темная ванная комната (света мало для такого цвета стен), кровать собрана из досок. Просто ужас! Но после стадии отрицания и первой ночевки начали рассматривать номер детальнее и сменили вое мнение. Хороший отель, отзывчивы персонал, уборка практически ежедневно, очень вкусные и красивые завтраки, тишина (чего нет в центре береговой линии на Велигаме). Оказалось на жесткой кровати нам спится комфортнее. Также есть крытый гараж для авто и байков, на входе можно обмыть ноги от песка. Отель стоит в удалении от центра пляжа, но Тук-тук или байк решает этот вопрос. При раннем выезде нам с вечера приготовили завтрак (сэндвичи и вареные яйца). Это было очень приятно. Приятный и комфортный балкончик с видом на соседний отель (лучше чем с видом на школу, которая шумит с утра). В общем от отеля впечатления положительные.

Мало света в ванной комнате. Не хватало розеток у кровати. Завтраки только с 8:30. Было бы отлично если бы завтраки начинались с 7:30. Нет лифта.

The breakfast is really good - rooftop bar looks nice and you can select the food of a given breakfast menu. It‘s always fresh and hot, tasty and looking great. The area in weligama is nice - though you need to at least walk for 15 minutes to get to the „center“ and nice beach.

Although tea and some coffee is included, americano and cappuccino needs to be ordered and payed for 1100 lkr each including service charge. And although the breakfast tastes amazing and is fresh, waiting 45 minutes to an hour is really too long. The room was clean but a bit old. The bathroom was super dark and didn‘t smell too fresh. We exchanged the towels as they were not smelling fresh and the new set didn‘t either. We got rid of the floor towel which freshened up the smell a bit. Also when cleaning the room, they folded the used and damp towels so they weren‘t fully dry in the evening which worsened the smell and we didn‘t know whose towel was whose anymore. We had the room directly next to the reception which was at some times a bit noisy - but not any problem during night time. The balcony was looking directly at a little construction site where people were working all day, so we had our curtains closed during most of our stay … All in all it didn‘t meet the expectations we had after reading all the amazing reviews but with minor improvements the stay would have been much better.

Likte takcafeen veldig godt! God mat, hyggelig personale og ikke noe problem å være der som solo-reisende. Fint å kunne velge en rett fra frokostmenyen.

Rommene er noe slitt, men generelt er standarden grei til å være på Sri Lanka.

Расположение хорошее, рядом рыбный рынок, где при готовят вкусную еду, из того что понравилось. Пляж не совсем чистый. Завтраки вкусные, но кофе не включён, за одтельную плату 1000 рупий сначала, со второго дня прибывания уже по 1100

Номер маленький, ванная тёмная, к раковине и зеркалу не поступиться, дверь хлипкая, слышимость из соседних номер отличная) батарейки в пульте от кондиционера сели, сдачи в кафе никогда нет, на Ресепшен тоже несколько раз напоминали что бы отдали сдачу.

Toilette nicht fest verschraubt, Frühstücksportionen hübsch aber viel zu klein. Frühstück dauerte sehr lange (ca.45min) bis es gebracht wurde.

The hotel is conveniently located (like 200m from the beach and 1KM from the main surf spots). The hotel staff were very kind and we found that the food served at the rooftop restaurant was delicious. The room was decently sized and clean.

The room had some weird defects, like doors that do not close properly and the toilet that randomly keeps flushing. Nothing major, but it was unexpected as this hotel is in the higher price segment compared to other Sri Lankan hotels.

Брали специально номер с видом на море и он был на последнем этаже, но море видно почти не было. Двери в номер и ванну не закрывались плотно. Сейф крошечный.

Все было замечательно! Номер уютный, персонал приветливый, завтрак на крыше очень вкусный! Мой день рождения выпал на проживание в этом отеле, сотрудники поздравили за завтраком и украсили номер. Остались только положительные впечатления об этом прекрасном месте!

Some of the facilities seemed a bit old and outdated, like doors, locks, tv and so on, but it was not something serious.

By far the best hotel we stayed at in Sri Lanka! The shower had warm water, was very pleasant and clean, with comfortable and even a bar. The breakfast was excellent, and in the room we had tea, coffee, and water that was replenished daily. The finishing touches throughout the hotel were beautiful, What made our stay truly outstanding was the personal service: snorkeling, surfing, Laundry,and even a taxi were all arranged for us at very good prices. We couldn’t have wished for a better experience!Room view best

This was the most beautiful place I stayed at in Sri Lanka; the amenities and staff were excellent and very accommodating. I even extended my stay for an extra night. The proximity to the beach, breakfast, spaciousness, and exactness to the pictures made it exactly what I wanted. Really nice stay for an excellent price. Wi-fi is good

The rooms were big and clean. The pool was great. The staff were really helpful. We had laundry done while we were there, which was great. Location is good. If you are looking for good food, a quiet place to stay, nice people and a view this is the spot. Since the moment you arrive the kind staff will take care of you. The room is big, clean and the bed is comfortable. Staff is always available and super helpful. I enjoyed their breakfast in the rooftop, you can choose a different dish every morning and is freshly made. The dinner experience or a drink at sunset in the rooftop were amazing as well. Loved the French toast, the chocolate pancake, the chicken burger, the iced chocolate and the chicken wrap. Thank you for the lovely stay!

We arrived at midday but the room wasn’t ready until 14:15 (15 mins after check in). Very hard mattress.

Such a great location within walking distance of the beach, the staff were lovely and the roof terrace is so nice, as is the food and drinks!

I give 10 points to this property because of it's amazing staff and the rooftop bar. Everyone was so nice and helpful, the receiption girl (Warumi if I remember correctly) was just so welcoming. The same is all guys from the rooftop bar. They always smile and ready to make your stay nice. The rooftop cafe/bar is one of the most stylish ones in Weligama and try their passion cheesecake:)

The main minus is that coffee is not included in the breakfast (only instant coffee). The breakfast was amazing, always tasty, always designed like in high level restaurants. The only issue that you can't have a quick breakfast, it's a-la-carte, so you have some waiting time.

We had such a lovely stay, the rooms were clean and nice looking. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Unfortunately, we had to wait quite a long time around 40 minutes before breakfast was served. I received my meal first, but my partner then had to wait much longer before his breakfast arrived. This was a bit disappointing, especially in the morning.

The rooftop is very nice and the food is excellent, the only problem is that they take a very long time to make meals (e.g. we were the first at breakfast because we had an early surf lesson and they took 45 minutes to prepare our food).

Scenic Bay ist absolut empfehlenswert. Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt hier sehr genossen. Das Hotel ist modern, stilvoll eingerichtet und bietet ein sehr gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Die Zimmer sind großzügig, sauber und komfortabel – man fühlt sich direkt wohl. Das Frühstück sollte man auf jeden Fall dazubuchen, denn es ist für ein inkludiertes Frühstück wirklich sehr gut. Ein kleiner Hinweis: Die Zubereitung dauert länger, besonders wenn man früh unterwegs sein möchte. Wir waren immer direkt um 08:30 Uhr da und mussten länger warten. Vielleicht wäre ein etwas früherer Start fürs Frühstück ideal – die Qualität war jedoch sehr gut. Das Hotel liegt etwas außerhalb, ist aber mit dem Tuk-Tuk oder Scooter schnell und unkompliziert erreichbar. Das WLAN war während unseres Aufenthalts nicht immer stabil, was für uns jedoch kein großes Problem war, da wir ausreichend mobiles Datenvolumen hatten. Insgesamt hatten wir einen sehr angenehmen Aufenthalt und können das Scenic Bay für einen entspannten Aufenthalt definitiv weiterempfehlen. Das Hotel hat eine schöne Lage, mit einigen familiären Restaurants in der Umgebung, gutes westliches Frühstück auf der Dachterrasse

Really enjoyed our stay here and was excellent value - the room was exactly as pictured and was clean. The staff were also very attentive too (especially Waruni) and looked to go that extra step to make you enjoy your stay. The breakfast on the rooftop restaurat was also fantastic, although catered more for western breakfast options rather than local food options. As the hotel is set back from the main road it is also very quiet.

Whilst the hotel is only a couple minutes walk away from the beach, the closest part of the beach was not suitable as a beach (i.e. no beach bank) - and had no nearby facilities - the area of the beach that has more food and drink options, as well as surf rental is located approximately a 15 minute walk away. Additionally, the wifi was a bit hit or miss in the room.
