Golden Sun Hotel

The location of the Golden Sun Hotel was quite comfortable in it's location. It was away from the busy ness of Glyfada however accessibility to the beach or shops via tram or foot was fantastic. The buffet breakfast was great.

The mattress in the room was extremely firm and was painful for my hips. I did ask for a pillow top to be put on it but they didn't fulfil that request nor were we given a reason as to why. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay there.

De locatie is geweldig. Het hotel ligt op loopafstand van de winkels in Glyfada en aan de overkant van de weg vind je het strand. De receptie is netjes en het zwembad is mooi gerenoveerd. De bedden sliepen onverwachts heerlijk. Het ontbijt was simpel maar prima.

De rest van het hotel en kamers zijn erg gedateerd. Van de twee verouderde liften werkte er één niet en bij de lift die wel werkte stonden de deuren gedeeltelijk open, waardoor je de liftschacht in kon kijken. Dit voelde onveilig. Ook werden etensresten van andere gasten niet opgehaald en stonden deze uiteindelijk meer dan 12 uur op de gang, waardoor er een flinke stank ontstond. Omdat de kamers heel gedateerd zijn vinden wij dat de prijs niet in verhouding is tot de kwaliteit die je krijgt.

Μερικά δωμάτια ίσως, δεν ξέρω αν είναι όλα το ίδιο, χρειάζονται ανακαίνιση και καινούρια έπιπλα. Όταν λειτούργησε πρέπει να ήταν αρκετά πολυτελές, αλλά τώρα "χάνει" από τα παλιά έπιπλα και ντουλάπες. Θεωρώ ότι είναι το μόνο μείον του.

The location was good, close to few beaches. Also, sitting by the pool at night provided a good ambiance.

The quality of breakfast was really mediocre, the room was worn down in need of refurbishment. I could hear everything spoken on the next balcony. The price was a bit too much for the quality they offered.

The beds and room were old and horrible! Very outdated. I complained and got moved. The staff were not particularly nice. I wanted to move rooms and they told me they were fully booked which was incorrect after looking in Bookings.com. Don’t stay here it’s awful.

The staff was very polite, when outside they would ask if you needed anything. The hotel is close to the city center/shopping location. The room was provided with a minifridge, good for buying extra water for later. Smart TV in the room with Internet connection. Comfy lounging chairs outside by the pool. Small meals, such as the sandwiches, were very good.

Poor sound isolation. I could hear the neighbours incredibly well, the bathroom being connected by a vent as well. The toilet in my room kept making a refilling noise, issue was brought up several times, they sent someone to fix it but it never got fixed. The solution being to press in the flush lightly but that wasn't guaranteed to work in my experience. The pillows were either soft or hard, usually on the harder side. The beds were okay, nothing special in softness or hardness. Balcony lights were shut off by staff, meaning if you wanted to sleep early the lights right outside the room would be on until they were turned off. The room does have thick curtains so it is counteractable. The hotel food is kind of lacking. I tried the pizza, it didn't taste much and cost more than it was worth. Recommend going out to eat or ordering to the hotel.

Rooms: pretty good, clean, tidy and the bathrooms were very generous Pool: the hotel has a beautiful pool and it's huge. Breakfast: plenty of variety Location: excellent, vert central and the tram is out the front door.

Quite “70s” I am afraid. Nothing wrong, but not very lively. Maybe it was because I was off season and doing business in a holiday hotel.

Не очень удобное расположение розеток. Можно было бы положить в номер пару пакетиков с чаем и кофе

Staff seemed a little hesitant to engage you. Ideally booked because of the pool but the one item I used it was attacked by mosquitos in the late afternoon. Breakfast Buffett is really good.

Overall an okay hotel rated as a 4* which I would argue should be no more than a 3* My reasonings below; Pool towels - only one provided for the whole of your stay unless you want to pay 7 € to have a fresh one ( I was there 10 days!!) Orange Juice - For a 4* I would expect fresh to be provided at Breakfast not the watery orange squash! Lifts- Have 2 one was out of order for the 2 weeks I was there lifts are really small fitting just 2 people comfortably. Hair dryers - Antiquated not fit for purpose mine had been repaired with tape but had a hole in so was useless, asked reception they had one for the whole Hotel!! Room Safe - On arrival wasn’t working. Took 2 days to replace a battery. Surely this should be checked at the beginning of each new guest arrival! Reception Staff- Not very friendly or engaging with guests Restaurant/ Pool staff - The opposite friendly and helpful Overall it was an okay stay but definitely not a 4*

All personal som arbetar på detta hotell är mycket vänlig och hjälpsam. Fin och ren pool och omgivningar. Frukosten som ingår är också bra.

Нам дістався номер з дуже старими меблями, холодильник підтікав. Загалом ок, але ціна я вважаю завелика для такого готелю

The location is very convenient given the tram station is close to the hotel. The pool and the surrounding area is well maintained and adequate sun lounges for the guests.

The furniture in the rooms is somewhat out dated.

The reception staff, the lady and the gentlemen are excellent and the most friendly of sorts!

The Golden Sun hotel was amazing value for money. The staff were fantastic, very helpful & made us very comfortable. Daily cleaning service was very good. Great amenities, lovely outdoor pool, with bar and food service. Excellent breakfast options & great location right near beaches and the tram.

Very noisy due to its location at the main road. Breakfast was very poor The rooms are not renovated Only one of the tow elevators was working and it is very small elevator barely enough for 3 persons with noise while going up and down that gives uncomfortable feeling while using. Refused my email to extend our checkout time until 12:00PM and they send us email that we have to leave at 11:00AM

Sengene var ikke specielt gode. Der er enormt lyt, så man kan hører naboer og folk på gangen. Morgenmaden er ensidig og kedelig. Sporvognen har skinner lige ved siden af hotellet. Det havde jeg ikke opdaget ved booking!

Ac not working Room dirty I refuse to use and leave immediately and Reception refuse to refund. simply hotel stole me. This is not 4 star hotel even is not hotel no have hospitality at all

Location - very close to wellness center. Pasticceria on the ground floor . Bus stop to Bergamo is just in front of the hotel . Perfect value for money

The breakfast was really nice. And the stuff is kind and has a lot of patience.

My room faced a very loud street. Since the AC wasn't working, I had to leave the window open, which made it impossible to sleep because of the noise. The AC was fixed by the next night, so I finally got some rest, though it was still quite noisy.

The breakfast was great

Breakfast was excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location was ideal for us. The common areas of the hotel, reception, the pool, the bar etc, were stylish and modern. The room was clean and the AC worked well.

The rooms themselves were a little dated, on the small side and very basic in terms of what they offered. E.g. there was an electric kettle but no tea or coffee or even cups?! Perhaps if we had asked for these items they would have been provided. We were given a specific beach/pool towel to use for the duration of our stay, but if we wanted to exchange it for a clean one, it would cost €5 per towel.

Sehr gutes Frühstück. Das Hotel ist gut mit der Straßenbahn zu erreichen. Leider sind die Zimmer sehr hellhörig und die Einrichtung ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Außerdem ist es ziemlich laut, da unmittelbar am Hotel eine mehrspurige Straße verläuft.

Location is very good, breakfast was great, staff was very helpful. I really like the upgrade on the pool.

Unfortunately, I booked a room with two beds and when I checked in, the gentlemen at the front desk changed my room to king size bed and said that I would love my upgrade. Meanwhile i asked him and said i have been here once may i ask did you guys upgraded the rooms and beds too he said unfortunately we have not only what you see on the lobby. He unfortunately lied to me because they have changed the beds and mattresses for most of the rooms. My room was spacious but it was better sleeping on the floor than on the bed. The second day I forgot my key in the room so I asked the front desk to give me an extra key, she was very nice and provided me with one and asked me how I like my stay. I told her everything is perfect but the mattress I can’t sleep I haven’t slept in two days now. She then changed my room. And apologized to me.. at least I got one day of sleep. Make sure you check the mattress as not all the rooms have new mattresses other than that this hotel is decent, good luck.
