The staff could not do more to help us during our trip and were very welcoming and great hosts. The breakfast and restaurant had local produce - much grown at the hotel which was delicious

The rooms don’t have mosquito blinds/nets and windows need to be open as there are no fans or air con. The skylight helps but can’t stop the bugs

Das Frühstück war sehr gut, mit frischen Zutaten und nettem Personal. Generell war es toll das Restaurant gleich nebenan zu haben. Man hat auch kurzfristig noch einen Tisch bekommen und das Essen war klasse. Der Ausblick auf den Pico war wunderschön, auch vom Pool aus.

Die Fenster sind aus Holz und verziehen sich, weshalb sie sehr schwer zu öffnen und zu schließen sind. Außerdem kann man immer nur einen Spalt aufmachen. Es gibt keine Klimaanlage oder Luftentfeuchter, weshalb drinnen nichts trocknet. Die Zimmer sind zwar groß, aber leider nicht sehr sauber. Das Bad ist noch sehr alt. Es gibt nur eine Badewanne mit eingebauter Dusche und ohne Duschvorhang/-wand.

Sfeervolle accommodatie met veel ruimte. Prachtig en rustig gelegen met uitzicht over de oceaan en op de vulkaan Pico. Een heerlijk ontbijt met zelfs pannenkoeken en als je meer wilde, kreeg je dat ook direct. Je kunt hier ook prima 's avonds dineren omdat het hotel wat verder weg ligt van andere restaurants en stadscentrum.

Niets, alleen een ventilator standaard op de kamer was prettig geweest ivm. de warmte.

Beautiful rustic chic property in stunning location with superb sea views across to Pico Island. Charming homely atmosphere, lovely staff. Breakfast was abundant and freshly prepared. Very good restaurant.

De locatie was prachtig, mooi zwembad met schitterend uitzicht. De kamers zijn ruim met een groot en comfortabel bed. Ontbijt is redelijk simpel maar lekker.

De muren zijn dun, dus je hoort de kamer naast je.

Könnte etwas sauberer sein, beim Essen im Restaurant sehr lange Wartezeiten, kühle Zimmer (jedoch Heizstrahler vorhanden), sehr hellhörige Zimmer

Super super nettes und liebevolles Personal in einem ganz wundervollen kleinem Hotel. Unser kleines Häuschen war einfach perfekt. Tolle Aussicht, alles gepflegt.

etwas mehr Stauraum wäre für Kleidung oder auch einmal nasse Badesachen zum aufhängen super gewesen.

Sehr schöne und gepflegte Anlage mit tollem Blick auf die Küste und Pico. Die Eigentümer sind sehr freundlich. Die Zimmer sind geräumig, Frühstück und Abendessen im Restaurant sind ebenfalls gut.

Die Zimmer sind etwas dunkel und wir hatten kontinuierlich 1-2 Ameisenstraßen im Zimmer. Fliegengitter wären hilfreich, da immer einige Insekten in den Räumen waren.

Die Lage ist einmalig und das Frühstück ist sensationell

Fabulous setting overlooking Pico island. Hotel rooms clean and spacious, wonderful restaurant with good fresh ingredients well prepared.

Beautiful location with a garden and saltwater pool overlooking the ocean and Pico Mountain. Our lofted room provided a blend of charm and comfort, with a large bed, jetted tub, and automatic skylight window. The owner was very welcoming and accommodating! We really enjoyed the daily breakfast with freshly baked bread and spreads made from local ingredients.

Walls were a bit thin but not much of an issue for us

Arrivée en" catastrophe@ parce que les avions ne décollaient pas depuis 4 jours de Horta j'ai pris un ferry pour Sao jorge et accepté le 1er hotel qui acceptait de ne pas être payé en ligne.(possibilité de décommander si un vol) Depuis 4 jours j'étais dans le brouillard et je découvre un lieu magique: l'ensemble des chambres tout en basalte s'articule autour d'un jardin de rocaille extraordinaire à l'anglaise maîtrisé dominant la mer et en contre champ le mont Pico avec au centre une piscine. Des chats, des poules. L'avantage : un restaurant sur place, en contre bas; en rotonde réalisé tout en bois comme une structure de parapluie qui repose sur des fenêtres ouvertes sur cet espace bucolique d'un autre siècle. La cuisine est excellente, simple avec les produits du jardin et ou de l'île-pain, yaourts, confitures sont faits maison- service et décor de table très soigné; un accueil chaleureux. On se sent en famille. Certes un peu éloigné du centre de Velas - il faut une voiture/ taxi- un tel lieu est rare sur les différentes iles des Açores. Venir y passer plusieurs jours pour se déconnecter.

Het zijn prachtige huisjes, met een heerlijk restaurant erbij met heel mooi uitzicht op Pico. Ook hadden ze jonge katjes, en bereiden veel met locale producten, soms uit eigen tuin.

In het restaurant kon het erg lang duren voordat je eten kreeg als het druk was.

The room had not been cleaned thoroughly. There were empty beer bottles in the fridge and the shower seal had broken.

Die Anlage ist wunderschön auf einer Anhöhe gelegen. Tolle Aussicht und einfache aber zweckmässige Räume. Sehr nette Gastgeberin und wunderschönes Top Restaurant! Wir haben auf der ganzen Reise nicht mehr so gut gegessen wie in diesem Hotel!

Im Mai waren wegen des Wetters die Räume sehr kühl. Es fehlt eine Heizung. Mit einer Investition in ein entsprechendes Gerät wäre der Aufenthalt wesentlich angenehmer gewesen. Vor allem wenn man darauf angewiesen ist, im Zimmer sich aufzuhalten. Die Gastgeberin versuchte ihr Bestes, aber der Aufenthalt war sehr ungemütlich.

Wirklich schöne Anlage und Zimmer. Super Frühstück mit selbstgemachten Produkten und auch abends war das Essen im Restaurant sehr gut. Das Personal war super freundlich und zuvorkommend und hat gute Tipps für Ausflüge gegeben. Die Aussicht war wunderschön.

Dadurch dass die Decken so hoch waren ließen sich die Zimmer leider nicht gut heizen und es war etwas kalt.

Aucun équipement dans la "kitchenette" (juste une bouilloire et un frigo), des relents de canalisation.

Vista panorâmica fantástica, de frente para o monte Pico. Pena que o local e jardins do hotel estão muito mal cuidados meio que abandonados.

Internet ruim, chuveiro quebrado e molha todo o banheiro, e o entorno das cabanas de pedra parecem abandonados, no meio do mato, parecendo um lugar em decadência... Hotel lindíssimo, mas muito mal cuidado.

Tout était parfait! Accueil très chaleureux de Laetitia et de tout le personnel, qui sont tous très gentils. La Chambre est immense et très confortable. Très propre. Magnifique vue sur le mont pico. Le petit déjeuner est succulent avec des produits locaux et faits maison. Le restaurant de l’hôtel où nous avons dîné les deux soirs est excellent. Poisson frais, produits locaux et frais. Un régal!

Adorei o espaço, a simpatia das pessoas, o excelente pequeno almoço, e a localização. Como viemos de barco da ilha do pico, levamos o nosso carro particular o que foi uma excelente ideia. Utilizámos o gps para percorrer a ilha e foi excelente. Lugares lindíssimos com zonas balneares lindíssimas. Usufruímos também da piscina do hotel que é num tamanho muito razoável e sempre limpa

Nada poderia ter sido melhor

Breakfast was wonderful and in a beautiful dining room and with spectacular views of Pico! Staff was very friendly and accommodating . There were always staples on the table such as bread, cheese, crepes, jams. Then they would always ask if we wanted eggs as well.

Tolles Frühstück und extra für einen von uns glutenfrei zubereitet. Auch beim Abendessen wurde auf glutenfreies Essen geachtet. Die Gastgeberin ist total nett und hilft in allen Belangen. Rundum toller Aufenthalt!

Besonders beeindruckt hat uns die Freundlichkeit und Hilfsbereitschaft des Personals. Wir wurden sehr herzlich empfangen und es wurde eigens für uns gekocht obwohl das Restaurant an diesem Tag geschlossen hatte. Nach einer langen Wanderung und ohne Auto waren wir unglaublich dankbar dafür. Die Küche ist ausgezeichnet und das Frühstück war das beste, dass wir auf den Azoren hatten. Die Ausstattung ist zum Teil etwas in die Jahre gekommen aber es war alles makellos sauber. Die Lage des Hotel mit Blick auf den Pico ist sehr schön.

Die Lage und die Aussicht waren sensationell bei guter Sicht! Ein Traum! Als Tipp: mehrere Übernachtungen einplanen, denn das Wetter auf den Azoren kann auch regnerisch und neblig sein und dann sieht man leider gar nichts.

Hôtel vraiment très sympathique! Notre chambre etait très belle et les infrastructures de l'hôtel était très bien. Nous avons adoré la piscine avec la vue sur le Mont Pico. Le personnel était également très accueillant.

Schitterende locatie met uitzicht op Pico. Grote kamers en groot fijn bed. Uitstekend restaurant met heerlijk ontbijt. Zitje buiten. Zwembad. Zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel.

The view over the ocean, the charm of the stoned-walls, the high ceilings, the in-house restaurant.

The bed was a bit small for a couple. The walls are very thin in the bathroom so we could hear the neighbours quite a lot.

Restaurangen var fantastisk toppenmat, boendet kanske inte är så modernt men det har själen och mysigheten. Värden var väldigt hjälpsam och engagerad!

The food was amazing and people working there are extremely nice and professional. The view from the hotel is incredible and we even got a cat friend :)

Das Hotel hat eine wunderschöne Lage mit Blick auf Pico. Die Nähe zu Velas war für uns super aber auch jegliche Ausflugsziele sind von hier aus gut zu erreichen. Schönes Restaurant, leckeres Frühstück und eine sehr nette Hausherrin.

Es wäre schön, wenn es am Pool Sonnenschirme gäbe. Das Holzlager könnte etwas schöner gestalteter sein, als alles auf einen Haufen geschmissen genau am Wegesrand. Insgesamt finde ich das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis etwas zu hoch- was man fast von der ganzen Insel sagen kann.

Tout était parfait : l’accueil charmant de la propriétaire, la situation de l’hôtel, une belle chambre avec une grande salle de bain , une vue exceptionnelle sur l’île de Pico et une piscine très agréable.

Nous avons vraiment apprécié ce logement sur les hauteurs dans le calme. La gentillesse du personnel, le petit déjeuner excellent, la piscine.

Belle piscine qui mériterait cependant une rénovation. Kitchenette sous-équipée, pas de couverts !

Ruim sfeervol huis. Netjes. Mooie groene tuin voor de deur. Goed uitzicht. Je kan er zelf geen eten bereiden maar goed restaurant is op hetzelfde terrein. Geen overige horeca of grotere winkel op loopafstand. Zwembad is eenvoudig.

Zeer gehorig. Je hoort de buren letterlijk praten.

O pequeno almoço era ótimo uma maneira inteligente de evitar desperdícios. A localização foi maravilhosa no meio da natureza e do silencio.

O hotel fica no meio de uma quinta e durante a noite a iluminação dos caminhos para os apartamentos estavam mal iluminados.

Très grande chambre correspond à une suite. Le petit déjeuner était copieux et très bon : jus d.orange naturel, fromage de Sao Jorge excellent, crêpes …. La personne qui nous a accueilli était très prévenante. Réservez pour le restaurant du soir. Il est vite complet.

On entend les voisins dans la salle de bain. Mais ce n.était pas une grosse nuisance.

Dépaysement total dans cet « hôtel » (ou plutôt un site avec différents petits studios) très tranquille mais très bien placé pour découvrir l’île de São Jorge. Accueil attentionné par la propriétaire qui a toujours eu un mot gentil. Le petit déjeuner maison était excellent ! Et le restaurant était très bon également. Et enfin la piscine (qui donne sur le Pico juste en face) est agréable après une journée de balade. Je ne regrette pas mon choix !

Fabulosa localização com vista para as ilhas do Pico e Faial. Quarto muitíssimo espaço e bem equipado. O restaurante tem uma vista magnífica, uma comida maravilhosamente deliciosa, o serviço é personalizado. Pequeno almoço com muita variedade, servido às mesas. A piscina tem um enquadramento espectacular, muito relaxante.

Jolies maisonnettes en pierres au milieu d'un jardin fleuri avec un très bon restaurant, une vue magnifique. Les appartements sont très spacieux. Jolie piscine pour se détendre. Hôtel calme et bien situé.

Salle de bain un peu démodée (eau qui coule partout à chaque douche) mais le ménage est fait chaque jour donc on la retrouve nickel à chaque nouvelle utilisation.

Bien situé, avec une magnifique vue sur le mont Pico. La piscine est agréable, sans chlore. Le personnel est très sympathique et le petit déjeuner délicieux. Le coq chante souvent.

Tout est un peu décrépit, la porte de la salle de bain ne ferme pas et s’ouvre toute seule (elle claque pendant la nuit), les fenêtres sont tenues ouvertes avec un morceau de bois. Le flexible de la douche est court est pour se doucher la tête, on doit se baisser. Le matelas à ressort a fait son temps. Le wifi est HS. Il n’y a pas de parasols au bord de la piscine et les extérieurs ne sont pas bien entretenus (une barrière est cassée au bord de la piscine). Le coq chante souvent.

This hotel is tucked away up on the mountain above the town of Velas but it's really only a quick 5-minute drive from downtown, making this a quaint hidden gem. The hotel has an active restaurant so they include breakfast for their guests. Fresh crepes, eggs, cheese and fruit along with bread and homemade jellies. Have you ever had Pumpkin Jelly? The orange juice is fresh squeezed (so sometimes sweet and sometimes not) and fresh coffee made to order. It's the same breakfast every morning but it's consistently good. There is ceral and yogurt as well if you want something lighter. The hotel produces lots of it's own fruits and other produce for cooking and canning which is such a nice farm to table feel. They serve lunch and dinner with reservations because they are open to the public as well for those times. We had three separate cabins so we could spread out and have privacy, but we were still close so we could visit with each other. Each cabin had a separate bedroom and living room space making it feel really spacious. There was also small refrigerator in our room for a small snacks and beverages and a pot to boil water for instant coffee or tea and a coffee maker in one of our units too. The staff were very helpful and accomodating. The view and peaceful surroundings were really amazing as well. Great views of Pico when the clouds weren't covering it up. The pool was VERY cold but we loved it with it's lava rock waterfall! There is also a family of kitty's who were loving and affectionante as well. We took advantage of the laundry service they also provided which allowed us to keep our clothes fresh for our two week trip.

The beds were so firm/flat that it was very uncomfortable for a few people in our group. A quilted mattress cover is an inexpensive way to fix this issue, which would have made all difference in comfort on the beds I think. The bathrooms are big but the tub/shower has the plumping underneath, making it a bit scary for anyone not steady on their feet to get in and out due to the difference in height. A grab bar or step would help lessen the risk of a fall. There also needs to be better water containment (ie., secure half shower door to keep the water from pooling out onto the tile floors or shower curtains with weights on the bottom to keep the water from spilling out. Additionally rubber matted bathmats to step onto, would prevent slipping accidents, along with the afore mentioned step. Oh yea - there is a Rooster who doesn't know his day from night - so he's cockadoodling at all hours. LOL! But that only bothered my husband.

We loved the comfort, the silence, the view, the staff (very helpful, run by a family), and the restaurant had the best food of the island.
