Reviewed May 9, 2025The Gem was the perfect shoreside getaway for a solo traveler. Home is airy and bright, view of ocean and sheep pasture was peaceful, the facilities were comfortable and homey, and the host was very gracious and hospitable!

Reviewed Jan 8, 2025It's a good place for 2 people. It's clean, quiet, well furnished, and has a view of the cliffs and the sea. A part of a residential neighborhood - felt safe.
The address listed on the online site was incomplete, driver had to spend an extra 20 min. driving us around. Too remote for a stay without a rental car - nothing available during our visit.

Reviewed Jan 5, 2025The Bottom Bay! What a jewel! A hidden, unassuming beach reveals all of the sudden to your eyes, unexpectedly!! It is a beauty of some heavenly symmetry! A treasure you will come to cherish and hold dear in your lasting memory. Add to it your morning view from the patio overlooking the silvery Atlantic and its stupendous waves whirling and churning right on the horizon. The house itself has been kept spotless. Clean tile floors and spacious bed. Frangipani and bougainvillea trees -unseemly - next to you. The hostess - Gemma - had been so gracious, willing to extend any assistance you might have encountered. And a seasoned conversationalist, indeed. Ready to capture her guests in a serious, yet intriguing, exchange. As she runs the place with skill and efficiency, her personality radiates all around. Chris A. Dec, 2024

Reviewed Dec 16, 2023It was uncomfortable having the owner checking if we have the AC off when we exit the bedroom. She was concerned about the cost of electricity. I think the money that I paid should account for electricity. If I leave my house for vacation and I pay to be in a place. I would like to be able to enjoy and feel free to use the AC as I wish. It was hot. I will not recommend this place to anybody
