Hilton Lanzhou City Center

I expected staying in a Hilton Hotel that staff were able to speak English. I am living in 25 years and aware how convenient nowadays translation apps are. A bit disappointed although Lanzhou is certainly not Shanghai.

No hotel restaurant open after 9 pm.

Great rooms, great swimming pool, great breakfast

Internet does not work. But blame the PRC and not Hilton

The hotel is located in the center of Lanzhou. It is about 20 minutes taxi drive from Lanzhou train station. The reception is located on the 50th floor. The pool/gym were spacious and great, I could get a great workout in as the weather in the evening was rainy.

Views from reception lounge and bar on 51st floor and dining room on 52nd are impressive. Very good interiors. Helpful staff.

The hotel is in a good location and about 200m from the line 1 Metro and 400m from the Western gate of Lanzhou University. The hotel is very comfortable with all of the expected services. The breakfast is wide ranging and top quality - the coffee is very good. The Yun dinner which I did once was excellent. The welcome from staff was as expected.

The window had a minor defect and needs to be properly sealed as there is a whistle during high winds. Minor quibble - young staff were a bit too eager to remove food even though I hadn't finished

Brand new hotel, very clean and modern. Service was very good.

Travellers should note that it is not actually in the “City Center” - it is a little way out but tourist sites can be easily accessed by taxi, about 20 mins away.

Location is convenient to the subway, so getting around the city is pretty easy. Staff was wonderful always helpful. The breakfast buffet is as good as it gets. Room was luxurious and definitely a good value overall. It would be my top choice for staying in Lanzhou again.

Room too hot. thermostat does not work. Only way to cool the room down is to turn the heating off and open the window. Room is 27C, outside is -7C. Massive thermal shock every time I enter and leave the hotel.

Stayed two nights in Hilton Lanzhou City Center and enjoyed very much the very good service, great food (breakfast, lunch, dinner) and excellent gym. The rooms are in general very relaxing however we stayed on one of the top floors and the temperature in the room could not be reduced (30 degrees end of Oct / end of Nov while outdoors rather cold already) - after one „sauna“ night we got another room which was at least cooler. The explanation given was not really making too much sense - as a master of fact this problem was well known to the management however as the hotel was fully booked that night they may not have too many options. Nevertheless a great hotel - English level of most of the staff might need to be improved if Hilton brand is supposed for international travelers as well …

The hotel is located in the central Lanzhou, adjacent to the great Yellow river. The interior (lobby) is well decorated and splendid. You can enjoy the great view of Yellow river and the mountains behind, as well as the splendid city view from your room. The room is spacious with clean facilities. I enjoyed the shampoo and soup bottles not fixed on the wall, of which i can easily use it while enjoying the bathtub. That is great, and is absurdly not easy to enjoy nowadays in other 5-star hotels. There were many choices and local cruises for the breakfast. The only drawback is that the air-con could not provide warming even though I set the temperature higher then the ambient temperature. It only provides cooling. This is a great and decent hotel you need to choose whenever you visit Lanzhou.

Everything was great. The room with view on the city, the service was great, people in the hotel speak English and the breakfast was incredible.

The hotel is in a great location about 200 m from a Metro stop, 500m from Lanzhou University and the Airport bus. The staff are helpful and friendly. The breakfast was excellent with a great wide range of food to satisfy all tastes. The swimming pool facilities looked good although I didn't use these. The room was spacious and the bathroom well designed. It was also quiet. An issue with payment was quickly resolved. I'll stay in this hotel again.

The floor/room access was different and having to change elevators. In addition I collided with the desk hanging light a few times.

The AC is awful. It’s either freezing cold or too hot. The bathroom is also freezing and even when you turn off the AC there’s a draft from somewhere. On 2 occasions the room service didn’t clean the room or didn’t give clean coffee cups/new complimentary water and other items. Very sloppy service. The fridge didn’t work, and the engineer swapped it for a new one after complaining. Why wasn’t this checked before? The room layout is very unusual and impractical. It’s as bad as it looks in the photos - not sure who thought this up or why. On leaving day, there was a power cut in the night and the aging electrics meant my room lights didn’t come on again. I used the emergency flash light to pack at 4am in the morning.

Breakfast was great as always, so was the location of the establishment. View was also good.

Bar staff didn't care to manage at all. People were blasting music and smoking in the lounge but even after asking staff to handle it they acted like they didn't see it at all. Very poor experience especially when not taken seriously. Room was too warm, the AC is not great in managing the temperature and was noisy.

I got a room upgrade, which was great. The hotel offered the best breakfast during my entire trip in China.

Everything was great. Just a word of caution for those who have fear of heights, the hotel reception is on floor#51 and the rooms are in the floors just below that. Breakfast is served on the top floor. I found it interesting though.

I just arrived today and I have to say that I am impressed so far. From the moment I stepped in to the ground floor welcome reception, to the fast and friendly check in on the 51st floor, to the wonderful room and decent food at the executive lounge, everything had been good so far. Most of the staff does not speak English well, but they always find a way to help. The only negative part is the frustratingly poor Internet speed. I gave up on it and I am using my own data now. Overall, looking forward to my 6 nights stay

There’s a reason this hotel has a rating of 5 stars from ALL reviewers except just one. It opened a couple of years ago during the time of Covid, so it’s really been open for business for about a year. The location is central and near a subway. The rooms are totally 5 star level with new everything and soft, comfortable bed sheets. We were lucky enough to get upgraded to a suite due to our Diamond status. It’s worth it to pay the extra $ if you can, as the suites are like being home with a spacious living room and large sofas, dining table and another big tv. The view from up high allows you views of the whole city. The water temperature of the pool was consistently perfect - around 28-29 degrees C. The sauna worked perfectly as well. Nice and hot! My wife used the 24 hour gym almost daily. I’m usually very picky when it comes to poor service or a room not having heat etc, but everything really worked perfectly. Rooms were toasty warm as I set the thermostat to 25-26 C. So much was automated like the curtains, and even the toilet. The top rises when you walk into the bathroom. The toilet seat is heated and it’s actually a bidet. Lanzhou is the hub of Northwest China. It’s the place to start a visit to the ancient Silk Road including 2 deserts, popular grottos and other places. The high speed train also stops in Langzhou. The breakfast buffet is as complete as you can imagine. Noodle station, egg station - chefs for everything! A great salad with good variety The Executive lounge also serves up fantastic food during Happy Hour. The Chefs are super friendly. Overall, you’ll be happy that you found this Hilton. It’s a great value for the money. Howard S.

The design of the flow is little bit weird, not smooth

The rooms are nice, and the location seems satisfactory. However, the idea of customer service seems to be an alien concept here. Here’s one example. I asked to extend our stay by one day because of a delay in our tour arrangements. The entire front desk team told me the unbelievable story about how it was impossible to do this even though there were available rooms. I asked them to try and sure enough after a half hour while I was standing in front of them, they concluded (no surprise) that it’s easy to extend a reservation. This level of incompetence should be an embarrassment to Hilton, and it seems to me that some management changes would be in order.

My stay in thus hotel was perfect. Super convenient location and most of all staffs are friendly and helpful. Thanks to Ms. Catherine Qian, i could enjoy nice beef noodles and go to Bingling temple without any trouble. If anyone wants to go to Lanzhou, i will recommend this hotel.

Food, room and general conditionof the Rooms is very appealing. In addition the service was always friendly and helpful and the houskeeping was outstanding. Entertainment at the Bar was always fun and relaxing after Work. For me the Best place to stay in Lanzhou.

Modern facility, opened for one year only, very conveniently located in the eastern part of Lanzhou city. Walking distance to: airport bus service, local food/restaurant street(s), subway station; great view of city: all rooms located in 32-52th floor of a modern highrise, top floor restaurant and bar has panoramic view); attentive staff; clean room ... all in all a great place to stay with Hilton quality.

As a local, the newly opened Hilton hotel seems to be the first REAL Hilton in Lanzhou. Overheard from others that the is the 400 Hilton property in Greater China. The location is very convenient nearby the subway station. Front desk is on the 51F and the view is greeeat! The service team is super helpful with great flexibility and kindness during my stay. This kinda hospitality is rare to be seen in this part of China. Highly recommend and will definitely stay again.

This hotel was located in the city center. It occupied the top floors of building. Lobby and club lounge was located in the 50th floor so they provided a spectacular 360c city view to us. Room was five-star standard indeed. Indoor pool and gym were fantastic! Club lounge happy hour was actually a small-size buffet with high-quality food including crab and seafood. Breakfast was also various. Overall, this hotel was the best in Lanzhou city.
