We booked a three-night stay but left after the first night because the room was simply not habitable for us. The strongest issue was the overwhelming smell of paint. The odour was so intense that both my partner and I developed headaches and felt nauseous after spending the evening in the room. We could not imagine sleeping there for another two nights. The mattress was equally disappointing. It was so worn that we could feel the springs through it. We even tried placing the bedspread underneath the fitted sheet to create some cushioning, but it made little difference. Neither of us slept well. What makes this experience particularly disappointing is that the host initially apologized and agreed to refund the remaining two unused nights. We appreciated that response and believed the matter had been resolved. Unfortunately, that promise was later withdrawn, and the refund was refused despite us leaving immediately because of the conditions. Bernadette was pleasant in person, and I genuinely wish the experience had been different. However, future guests deserve to know what we encountered. If you are sensitive to strong odours or expect a comfortable mattress, I would strongly recommend choosing alternative accommodation. We travelled throughout Ireland for several weeks and stayed in many wonderful places. This was, by a significant margin, the only accommodation we would not return to.

We booked this house for our mother and were beyond satisfied with the experience. It turned out to be a fully separate private accommodation with its own entrance, a spacious kitchen, bathroom with shower, and a separate bedroom. Bernadette was incredibly kind and welcoming, even leaving food in the fridge for the first days — including cheese, ham, yogurt, jams, and more. We were genuinely impressed by this level of hospitality. The kitchen was fully equipped with a coffee machine, kettle, toaster, dishwasher, and a wide variety of cookware and dishes. The house was warm, spotless, and had absolutely everything needed for a comfortable stay and more. Since we stayed for dinners with our mother in the evenings, we didn’t even need to pay anything extra for visits, which made things very easy. Bernadette also shared that her husband built many parts of the house himself, which explains the attention to detail and care in every corner. We highly recommend this place and would definitely return again. It is also very easy to reach from Ennis.

The wonderful host Bernadette was there to welcome on arrival and shared her knowledge about places of interest to visit. The beautiful apartment in a quiet location has everything you need and complimentary food and treats were a real treat.

Comfortable apartment with great shower and bed. Great location, short drive to Ennis . Bernadette a great, friendly, helpful host.

The only thing for people to be aware is that it is a partial kitchen with microwave, toaster, tea kettle, dishes but does not have a cooktop nor pots and pans.

Perhaps, the position of the bathroom and shower - one has to pass through moving from the living area to the bedroom and vice versa.

This is a gemstone in a quiet rural area. Bernadette is an outstanding hostlady. She even filled the frig since we arrived late and gave us many helpful informations. The appartement is very clean, has many useful things in the kitchen.

Great communication by host who met us on arrival. Wifi, shower and heating was excellent. There was a microwave, but no microwaveable bowls, etc, a toaster and kettle in the kitchen, with a freezer-less fridge. Property was of a good size, had off-street parking. Bed was very clean and comfortable.

Cannot praise the accommodation and host enough. The apartment was immaculate and the host was super helpful. Would definitely recommend.

This was very comfortable accommodation and the owner provided so many little treats. The fridge was full of food to keep us going. Fruit, scones and cakes. We felt very spoilt.

The location was a little bit out of the way but seemed insignificant compared to all the bonuses.
