Kein Frühstück wegen früher Fähre

The standard room was very comfortable. It was clean and provided everything you needed. We loved the ensuite, very modern and looked brand new.

The room was quite warm. But the fans helped.

It was enjoyable but lacks something we have used the Pier since the early sixties and it’ not as we prefer to timber it.

A bit clinical in a modernised /industrialised way not as homely in public rooms. No sky TV available.

Wel een mooie kamer met prima badkamer, alhoewel erg warm. (Begin september)

Ik vond de prijs erg hoog, maar ja het is ongeveer het enige hotel in Harwich. Het bed was vreselijk, veel te zacht en heb daarom geen oog dicht gedaan. Wij hadden de avond te voren hun ontbijtlijst ingevuld, maar we vragen ons af of die überhaupt wel gelezen was. Ik kreeg een vol Engels ontbijt, terwijl ik alleen maar gebakken eieren met bacon en witte bonen in tomatensaus had aangegeven? Meer dan de helft kon zo weer weg gegooid worden. Bovendien is op zijn vroegst 07.00 ontbijten veel te krap op de uiterste inchecktijd van 08.15 voor de veerboot. daardoor zit je eigenlijk op hete kolen. Misschien daarom ontbijten vanaf 06.30 mogelijk maken. Anders zou ik adviseren om zeker niet in het hotel te ontbijten, maar gewoon aan boord waar ook prima mogelijkheden hiertoe zijn.

Fijne plek om een nacht door te brengen voordat je op de ferry gaat. Het is schoon, personeel is vriendelijk. Restaurant is goed.

Er valt niet veel te doen in de omgeving.

Our cooked breakfast was served the same time as the yogurt and fruit I returned the yogurt and fruit as my cooked breakfast would have gone cold the toast we requested didn’t even turn up.

Only little thing was in the room structure could b better.....theres was an unnecessary feature with a separation wall in a shape as an arch....but if not careful could b dangerous if someone wakes up in the night. 9ne can knock their head or walk in the wall....just saying

Perfect location for the ferry to HvH. Lovely room with harbour view, we loved it.

Nice room - well furnished with fridge and good quality toiletries, teas, coffees, etc. Comfortable bed in room and lounge area downstairs. Good restaurant for dinner. Good cooked-to-order breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff.

Breakfast excellent as usual. I even asked for fried bread which wasn't in menu!

Ligging en Restaurant met terras op 1e verdieping. Goede parkeergelegenheid voor onze fietsen. Personeel klasse!

Vanaf de boot nog aardig stukje fietsen om op tijd voor dinner te kunnen zijn. Maar het is het waard.

Stijlvol hotel aan de boulevard met uitzicht op de haven en de baai. Comfortabele kamer met uitzicht.

Bed was heel zacht. Verder verwachte ik een buffet ontbijt. Het ontbijt was verder prima.

Prachtig hotel, we hadden kamers met seaview. Heerlijk restaurant. Vriendelijk personeel.

Het was een beetje benauwd in de kamer. Het raam kon niet zo ver open. De ventilator werkte goed, maar koelde de lucht niet af.

Het ontbijt, het enige goede aan dit hotel. Het hotel ligt op 5min van de ferry, de reden waarom wij hier sliepen.

Onvriendelijk personeel in de avond, ze adverteren met 180-210 bedden, alleen zijn de bedden slecht 150cm breed. Het is super gehorig zowel intern als geluid van buiten. De kamer is muf en stinkt de prijs is veel te hoog.

Goeie locatie t.o.v. de Ferry

Een douche waar nauwelijks water uitkwam. Slechte verkoeling in tijdens warme dagen!!! Verkoeler werkte amper.

We hadden hier gelezen dat je het ontbijt van te voren kon bestellen als je de volgende dag vroeg met de ferry ging. Dus dat hebben we gedaan, 7 uur ontbijten, voor half 8 in de auto en even over half 8 in de haven. Dus perfecte locatie!

Het hotel ligt op een uitstekende en rustige lokatie ten opzichte van de ferry van en naar Hoek van Holland. De kamer was aan de warme kant maar de ramen konden (veilig) open. De kamer, bed en de badkamer waren schoon en comfortabel. Pluspunt is de eigen parkeerplaats. Het ontbijt is uitstekend en het personeel is vriendelijk. We hebben op avond van de terugreis met de nachtferry in de bar van het hotel gegeten en zaten de aankomende ferry op korte afstand voorbij varen. Waar wel rekening moet worden gehouden is dat de drankjes in de bar erg prijzig zijn. Verder een hotel om terug te komen.

Close to the port for an early morning crossing. We were able to have an early breakfast before our crossing. Breakfast selection was great. Don’t forget to order your cooked breakfast the night before ;)

Our bed was very soft, to the point where we felt like we were going to fall out of bed if we rolled over.

Because of the extreme heat there was an infestation of flies in the main bar in the afternoon. Not sure what could have been done but it did put us off our lunch.

Eigen parkeerplaats, fantastisch ontbijt, de ligging. Koelkastje met koud water en kannetje melk. Goed diner, eten was perfect. Alle faciliteiten aanwezig op de kamer, föhn, strijkplank en strijkijzer. Koffie,thee en koekjes.

De bar had geen gezellige uitstraling en de airco stond zo koud dat het niet aangenaam was. De prijzen voor drank en eten zijn behoorlijk hoog. In de kamer geen airco.

Car parking can be an issue so, if you want to go to this very good hotel, you may have to compromise about car parking. That said, although the hotel's car park was full, we did get one of the permit parking spaces opposite and The Pier issues you a daily permit gratis.

The location was at the harbor, and a bit of a walk from the train station. Breakfast was good, though I didn't have time to try anything cooked. They got me a taxi to go to the ferry in the morning. Dinner in their restaurant was good.

De waterdruk van de douche was erg (lees: te) laag

Dit keer sliep ik niet in het hoofdgebouw, maar in de 'Annex' die er direct naast is gelegen. Maar wat is die annex een ontzettend leuke locatie! Voorzieningen voor bv koffie of thee zijn hier niet op de kamer maar in de ruime, luxe ingerichte lounge en dat is prima! Enorme badkamer. En ook dit keer was het eten dik in orde, vertrek je met de veerboot om 9u, wordt hier met het ontbijt rekening mee gehouden.

Eigenlijk... kan ik niets bedenken.

We just love this place! We've eaten here several times over the past few years and decided to invite friends from London to stay over for a great night out! We weren't disappointed 😀

We were put in the Annex, originally a pub, located next door to the main hotel building. The rooms had been recently been tastefully decorated and although they weren’t huge they were adequately equipped. The Annex had a residents lounge which was originally the bar which had coffee and tea making facilities for residents. We were able to buy drinks at the bar in the main building and take them across to the lounge and to the small garden in front of the Annex. We ate a nice meal in the restaurant in the main building and bought drinks from the bar.

The rooms were a bit stuffy/hot. The bar in the main building was very noisy - there wasn’t any soft furnishings to dampen the noise.

Fantastic little place steeped in history. Great casualty feel, friendly staff and excellent food.

Unfortunately, the bed was a little tired and this had been covered with a lumpy topper - but beds are always subjective and this maybe super comfy to someone else.

Everything was 10/10, (especially the staff and breakfast !), apart from the bed in room 4 which was almost impossible to sleep on as it was domed. Only comfortable place was right in the middle and no room for two there.
