A wonderful stay in the perfect location We had a wonderful stay at Calla Luxury Seafront Suites. The location is absolutely ideal, right in front of the beautiful sea of Rethymno, with sun loungers and parasols available for guests. Although there is a road between the hotel and the beach, it did not disturb us. What we particularly loved is the intimate size of this small hotel. It creates a very warm and familiar atmosphere — you really feel at home. The owner is incredibly kind, helpful and attentive. He was always there to make sure everything was perfect and to respond to any of our requests. The cleanliness is impeccable, and the suites have everything you need for a comfortable and relaxing stay. The location is also perfect for exploring the old town of Rethymno, which is easily accessible on foot. We were touched by all the little thoughtful gestures throughout our stay: traditional pastries and chocolates left in our room, as well as a small bottle of organic olive oil as a gift. These little attentions really made our stay even more special and showed how much care goes into welcoming guests. The atmosphere is peaceful and relaxing, despite being so close to the sea and the city. And the jacuzzi is definitely a wonderful extra! Everyone was so kind and welcoming, and we truly felt looked after from the moment we arrived. We highly recommend Calla Luxury Seafront Suites and would happily come back!

EVERYTHING!! I cannot say enough wonderful things about calla luxury seafront suites. Catia and Mickalis ( I may have spelled their names wrong) were amazing hosts!!! There hotel is small and you get top notch service. From the rooms to the patios and lobby the place is spotless. If you order breakfast from them it is a great deal with lots of food options. Full service bar in the lobby with a walk up window close to the pool area. Literally step across the street to a very nice beach with free beach loungers if you’re staying there, €10 if not, but your food and drink price go against that so it’s such a great deal even if you’re not staying there and want to spend a day there at the beach. The menu for the beach is extensive and we enjoyed it so much. Catia would bring us fresh fruit when we were sitting at the bar. She even gave us a small bottle of her family made olive oil to take home. Our room also had a hot tub outside the patio door which was really nice late at night. Also right next door to the hotel is a restaurant called Kai. They suggested we go eat there when we checked in as we were starving. We loved it so much we went all 3 nights late at night. Also because the hotel is so Quaint, I met a girl during breakfast one morning and we spent a lot of time together and now keep in touch. Shes from the UK and I am a Canadian living in the USA. I can’t wait to return.

There was not one thing not to like. Everything was fantastic and we hope to stay again one day.

Die Lage des Hotels ist sehr gut! Man geht wirklich über die Straße und ist direkt am Strand, dort sind Liegen mit Schirmen direkt vom Hotel. Es ist sehr sauber am Strand und der Strand ist sehr schön! Am Strand hat man die Möglichkeit Getränke und Essen zu bestellen. Handtücher erhält man im Hotel. Das Personal vom Hotel ist unfassbar freundlich, die Besitzer sind täglich anwesend und sehr bemüht einem alles so perfekt wie möglich zu gestalten. Unser Zimmer war im EG und hatte einen Whirlpool auf der Terrasse, was ein absoluter Pluspunkt war. Von der Bestuhlung und dem Whirlpool, der Bepflanzung und der Inneneinrichtung war wirklich alles so komfortabel wie möglich und so sauber wie möglich. Ich bin wirklich sehr detailorientiert und muss sagen, dass ich nichts zu bemängeln hatte. Ich hätte gerne mehr als eine Woche dort verbracht. Die Distanz in die Innenstadt ist absolut machbar zu Fuß, wir sind abend gerne mit einem E-Roller gefahren, welche direkt vor der Unterkunft zur Verfügung standen. An unserem ersten Abend hatten wir keine Lust in die Stadt zu gehen, weil es bereits spät war und direkt neben unserer Unterkunft war ein super Restaurant, wirklich hipp schick und modern. 10/10 für die gesamte Unterkunft. Die Fahrt vom Flughafen Heraklion betrug ca 1 Stunde, was vollkommen machbar war, die Fahrt war super schön, der Weg war auf dieser Insel einfach super schön zu genießen. Ich kann mich wirklich nur bei unseren Gastgebern für diesen ausgezeichneten Aufenthalt nur bedanken.

Wir haben nichts auszusetzen. Alles war perfekt.

We just finished our stay at Calla Luxury Suites, and it was fantastic. We spent a lot of time looking at different hotels before our trip to Rethymno, and we're so glad we chose this one. The hotel is nearly brand new, extremely clean, and very well done. The rooms are modern, comfortable, and spotless. You can tell the owners paid attention to every detail when they built the place. Honestly, the quality of the rooms and the overall property is better than many larger luxury hotels we've stayed in. The location is great, right on the water with beautiful views. Old Town is about a 20-minute walk or a quick €7 taxi ride away. There's also a nice pool and seating area that's perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. What really makes this place special, though, are the owners. They were around every day, always friendly, welcoming, and happy to help. They gave us great recommendations for restaurants, beaches, and things to do, and they genuinely wanted us to have a great time in Crete. We're very happy we chose this small boutique hotel with only six rooms instead of one of the larger resorts. The personal touch made a huge difference. I can't say enough good things about Calla Luxury Suites. It ended up being one of our favorite hotel stays anywhere. Thank you for your hospitality and for making our trip so memorable. We hope to come back again someday!

Super spacious suite with 2 full bathrooms and a nice balcony. The pool area is very nice and the beach service and chairs were very nice. Cooked to order breakfast is a nice touch.

No complaints at all. I did not see a hairdryer but I am sure that I could have asked for one if I needed it.

Beautiful and private space. Only 6 rooms and great personal service. The cheaper rooms with Balcony are definetly the way to go. No need for a jacuzzi in my opinion. For breakfast i would recommend Bora Bora next to it.

Although the service is great and prices are made clear some drinks prices dont make sense as they are 30-40% more expensive then similar place to the left and right

Wat een heerlijk hotel! Perfecte, schone kamer met een geweldig uitzicht. Fijn zwembad met voldoende bedjes. Ook voldoende bedjes op het strand, waar soms ook bedjes voor ons apart werden gehouden als hotelgasten. De bediening op het strand was ook perfect. Heel aardig personeel en we werden echt verwend. Aanrader!

Food was inedible. Drinks were just okay. The bathroom arrangement was not pleasant. There was a terrible smell coming from the sewer in the floor that we could not close.

Es ist ein sehr schönes kleines Hotel am Rande von Rethymno mit direktem Strandzugang und einer sehr schönen Poolanlage, bei der Platztechnisch alles rausgesholt wurde. Das Personal ist extrem freundlich und wir fühlten uns sehr willkommen!

Wir haben die familiäre Atmosphäre sehr genossen. Sowohl die Besitzer als auch die Mitarbeiterinnen waren sehr zuvorkommend und freundlich. Ein höchst entspannter Strandabschnitt direkt über die Straße, mit eigenen Liegen war schon sehr angenehm. Auch, dass man am Strand jederzeit leicht etwas bestellen konnte war super. Alles war sauber und geschmackvoll mit viel Liebe zum Detail gemacht. Da für unseren Urlaubszeitraum bereits die Loft Suite teilweise gebucht war, hatten wir bewusst einen Zimmerwechsel gebucht. Der lief reibungslos und wurde uns sehr einfach gemacht. Generell muss man sagen, dass man auf Kreta wohl kaum entspannter urlauben kann, als in einer Unterkunft dieser (kleinen) Größe, die mit so viel Herzblut geführt wird.

Das Frühstück war nicht in jeder Hinsicht Unsers. Man kann hier von einer Liste ungefähr wählen was man am nächsten Tag möchte. Im Hinblick auf Reduzierung von Müll fanden wir das gut und das Frühstück war dennoch reichhaltig und lecker. Wir sind auch keine Freunde von Buffets. Allerdings hätten wir uns neben dem Brot auch Brötchen und vielleicht auch Granola gewünscht. Generell war das Frühstück immer schön und sehr entspannt, wenngleich auch nicht gerade günstig. Nicht unerwähnt möchten wir die typisch griechischen Süßspeisen lassen, die wir morgens zum Frühstück bekommen haben. Die waren immer sehr sehr lecker. Beim Bezahlen hätten wir uns im Nachhinein eine Aufstellung gewünscht. Nicht, weil wir den Preis zu hoch fanden, sondern schlicht, weil wir nach einer Woche keine genaue Vorstellung mehr hatten, was wir so bestellt hatten. Zugegeben ist uns das aber auch später erst aufgegangen und wir haben auch nicht aktiv danach gefragt.

We stayed in a loft suite sea view room. It was just as shown in the photos. Rooms are new, very modern and clean. Well decorated. View from room is good with a nice balcony too. Bed is very comfortable. Shower is hot and great pressure. The manager and staff were really helpful and very apologetic for the issues we had. They gave us some wine, chocolates and olive oil to apologise. They were very friendly and genuinely hospitable. Overall it was an ok stay but given the issues we had, it was not quite luxury.

Steep stairs are a bit awkward if you are older. Toilet is downstairs and bedroom upstairs so take care in the dark. The shower and toilet had no ventilation fans and this caused some issues. The floor drains in both rooms are terribly smelly and as a result the whole suite had a bit of a foul stench. We had nice weather so we opened the balcony door which made it a lot better. With door closed it was quite unpleasant. The lack of ventilation also likely led to a false fire alarm at 1:30 am. We were woken by an ear piercing alarm which we assumed was a burglar alarm. It went on for about 20 minutes. There is no staff at the property overnight so guests had to phone the manager to get them to come to the hotel. We were awake for about 90 minutes in the middle of the night. All because a guest in a neighbouring suite took a hot shower and the steam set off the smoke detector and hotel fire alarm. Thankfully there was no fire as there was no attempt to inform us to evacuate the building. On our first night we found sand in the bed sheets. The manager assured us that the sheets had been changed before we checked in but they were unsure as to why there was sand in the bed.

This was lovely two-level suite, with a beautiful view out over the beach. It was thoughtfully designed, and had everything we needed to enjoy Crete. The thoughtful touches of complementary raki and treats were a nice touch. Wifi was good, and the AC did a great job of controlling the temperature. The suite had both a shower (downstairs) and full bath (upstairs) which was a nice touch, and the water temperature and pressure were both great. Free parking was always available for our rental car beside the property, which was very convenient.

There was one issue with the electrical that affected the entire building as a result of heavy rainfall, but the staff worked quickly to address it despite being the middle of the night. The property was also a bit further to walk into old town than we expected.

Hotellin edessä olevalla siistillä ranta-alueella oli hotellin asiakkailla käytössä ilmaiseksi erinomaiset rantatuolit. Aamiainen oli herkullinen. Siivooja kävi päivittäin, kaikki oli puhdasta ja toimivaa. Äänieristys hyvä, samoin ilmastointi. Sijaintikin oli hyvä. Hotelli on ison rantatien varrella, joka on täynnä ravintoloita ja kauppoja. Vanhaan kaupunkiin on parin kilometrin kävelymatka.

Säilytystilat olivat hieman epäkäytännölliset, samoin kuin oleskelutilaan sijoitettu pesuallas. Vessan viemäristä lehahti välillä epämiellyttävä haju. 3 vrk:n aikana nämä asiat eivät ehtineet haitata, mutta pidemmällä oleskelulla ne voisivat ehkä hieman häiritä. Eivät kuitenkaan suuria asioita.

Calla was the perfect spot to stay. Amazing service, the staff were very friendly. The rooms are as pictured, with thoughtful attention to detail. The pool is lovely and its close to the beach, shops and restaurants but not too in the thick of it so it still feels relaxing. Highly reccomend it!

Wij waren opzoek naar een kleinschalig comfortabel hotel, en dat hebben we gevonden bij Calla. Het heeft onze verwachtingen overtroffen: de perfecte ligging vlakbij het strand en dichtbij een stad, Rethymno. Het personeel was ongelooflijk vriendelijk en gastvrij. Ondanks we weinig tijd hebben gespendeerd in het hotel en eerder wat zijn gaan ontdekken, werden we telkens opnieuw warm onthaald. Wij hadden een kamer met jacuzzi, welke we iedere dag gebruikt hebben na een lange dag aan het strand/in de stad. Het zwembad hebben we niet gebruikt maar ook dit was prima onderhouden.

Het enige minpunt dat we konden bedenken was dat de kamer vlak na de receptie lag waardoor we veel konden horen, soms voor ons al iets te vroeg in de ochtend.

Everything about the suites was so well thought out and managed, everywhere was clean and tidy and everyone was so friendly and helpful. Convenient for shops and restaurants, the beach across the road with sun beds and drink service.

Michael and Katja (and son) have created a wonderful boutique hotel, as Michael calls it "big hotel in a small size", absolutely wonderful Every little detail was considered (bag for towels, bump protection for the head when coming down the stairs, best quality body lotion) The suite had everything- excellent shower, good bath, enough towels (also beach towels), a kitchenette, a large living room, 2 ACs, convenient stools everywhere The design of the suite was impeccable and so beautiful with 'smart house' features everywhere and very convenient to operate (electronic curtains, lights etc.) The location is right on the beautiful beach with free sunbeds and umbrella ,the beach is cleaned and prepared daily Located near the beautiful old town good supermarket near by Car parking easy to find Michael helped us in everything we asked and gave us good advice on where to travel and when, Katja prepared a good list of recommendations online The whole feeling is you are well taken care of with the highest quality products and human care We were so sorry to receive the sweet farewell gift because it meant our stay there was over ;-) but we do hope to come back to this amazing hotel Thank you, Michael and Katja !

Lovely hotel and great location - close enough to town to get there pretty easily but far enough out that you could relax in a peaceful environment. Highlight is definitely all the amazing staff who are so friendly and extremely helpful

The suites are really luxurious, not just in the name. Modern, elegant rooms, perfect location. The owner was was one of the kindest and most helpful person we ever met. It has its own beach with really comfortable beach beds.

The property had friendly and helpful management. The loft room looked even better than pictured. The beach was beautiful and conveniently located. I felt very safe as a solo traveler and loved the special goodies left in the room each day.

I can't praise this hotel enough. As someone who has traveled extensively and stayed in numerous luxury hotels, Calla Luxury Suites stands in a league of its own. The hotel is small, with only six rooms, and there are more staff members than rooms — and it shows in the level of service. It was consistently and exceptionally flawless. The room was modern and clean. We had the pool area mostly to ourselves. The beach is just across the road, and the sun loungers are freely available for hotel guests. The hotel bar also serves the beach area. The highlight of our stay was the individually prepared breakfast! I warmly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a true luxury experience.

The apartments fully match the photos, and the price is absolutely worth the value you get. We really appreciated the warm attitude towards guests – this is a family-run hotel with very helpful staff. Breakfast and dinner are offered according to your preferences, and the service is excellent. On the beach you will always find a free sunbed. The hotel also has a small pool area, but since it is located right on the seafront, you may not even need it. The apartments are regularly cleaned, towels are changed, and we even received lovely compliments from the kitchen – either during breakfast or directly delivered to the room (fresh fruits, cookies, and local treats). This added a very special touch. We truly enjoyed our stay and were very satisfied. If we visit this region again, we would definitely come back!

I stayed here with my sister on holiday. Gorgeous location, incredibly kind people, delicious breakfast and coffee. Comfy loungers on the beach with drinks, food, complimentary water. As a boutique hotel they really make sure that their guests are taken care of - you will not be fighting for your daily sun loungers here like at a big resort. I cannot really express how much we enjoyed our time here. The owners are thoughtful, and truly are passionate about this business and it shows in the personal touches. They had a curated list of places to eat and visit as well which was a huge help. We would like to say thank you so much to the team at Calla who were nothing short of exceptional, and probably make everyone’s holiday special - we hope you all get to have as good a holiday yourselves!

We loved our room which had a living space and bedroom above with both spaces having an incredible view of the sea. The hosts were wonderful and always providing great recommendations for places to see. We walked along the boardwalk to the old town and were happy to be slightly set apart from the business of old town. We loved our stay and I highly recommend this accommodation to fellow travelers (coming from a traveler with high expectations!)

The hotel location worked out very well for us, with the private beach and the relative quiet. The beds are very comfortable. The pool, even if not large, was appreciated when we couldn't swim in the sea because of the wind. The personnel is absolutely wonderful. Big thanks to Eleni for our daily brunch!

The best thing about Calla Luxury Suites was the attentiveness of the owner and staff. They were very helpful, trying to anticipate our every need. The bed was very comfortable and the room was stylishly decorated. The room had a fridge and a proper sink and bottles of water were provided every day. The power shower was great.

The stairs down from the mezzanine floor were quite steep- really just a heads up for anyone who may have mobility difficulties.

My husband and i spent 5 nights at this location and it was amazing! The owners and staff were so good to us making sure we were having the best time and experience. If we were to come back in Crete this is the first place we would stay.

This was our best and favorite stay of our trip. The place was immaculate and not a single detail was overlooked. Everything was spotless. You get treats when you arrive, treats during your stay, and farewell treats as well which was a nice surprise. Staff goes above and beyond to make you feel like royalty. Walking distance to tons of restaurants. There is a rooftop to have coffee or cocktails from the bar on premises or you can cross the street to the beach and be waited on by the staff while lounging. What a gem. I can’t recommend this place enough and hope to be back!

The room was extremely confortable and luxe. I appreciated code system to enter the room, no need to carry a card. The overall vibe was very chill and relaxing, being a small boutique hotel there is no noise or hustle and bustle from other tourists. The beach is really nice, quiet, confortable sunbeds. The service was extraordinary, staff is well trained and kind, they also provide some food and drinks, perfect for a long day at the beach doing nothing. I totally recommend it.

Very nice property with friendly staff. Clean place to stay that was very secure with keyless entry. Tech forward and sustainably driven. It was great to stay here for a night.

It’s a bit far from the port which can make parking difficult if the few spots available are taken and you don’t know how to parallel park confidently. The light on the AC unit can be bright at night for sensitive sleepers.

A charming family-managed small hotel which stands out for location&position: -beachfront: the private sandy with some pebbles beach with free transats and umbrellas, cleaned everyday is separated from the hotel by a small road. It has beach bar service and a glass of ice water is offered to each guest. -Supermarket at 30 meters. -the harbour and Rethymnon old town at 1,4km walking along the sea promenade with plenty of restaurants. But what really makes the difference is Katja, Mihalis and their small team. Their experience in Horeca field and perfectionism are translated into all the details which made us feel pampered all the time. Besides the sweet welcome gift, free coffee capsules, tea and water supplied everyday into the room, they are there everyday to ensure quality staying for their guests, to see if we need something, provide info and suggestions and help as much as they can. They projected this hotel and run it having the sea and the client as focus. So: - there is a full view of sea from all the places (in the 1st floor rooms one can see the sea from the bed). - the ammenities are high quality and the premises are thouroughly cleaned every day. All is new, the modern technology combines with an warm artistic touch. - although not noisy, the windows ensure an excellent soundproofing and privacy as they are mirrored from the outside. The anti mosquitos doors are much appreciated and helpful. So as the electronic panel to control lights. - communication prior arrival very prompt. - wi-fi works very well, including on the beach Breakfast is tailor made based on the guest prefernces from the a la carte list. In addition, everyday a greek pastry is offered. Photos to the room we stayed in and to the common areas are very accurate.

Absolutely beautiful!! Modern, clean, perfectly decorated. Owners are truly wonderful. Shops and supermarket either side and the gorgeous beach right in front of you. Pool area is delightful and artistic. Food is great. We will be back!

Excellent location, amazing staff and always so clean. We were welcomed so warmly upon arrival and during our stay were made very comfortable and felt valued. We would absolutely stay here again!

As soon as we arrived we were greeted extremely warmly. The family and staff at the hotel couldn’t have been kinder or more helpful throughout our stay. Every detail in the rooms had been thought of and the rooftop for sunset was an added bonus. They left lovely gifts for us to enjoy and made us feel entirely at home. We would hugely recommend this hotel if you’re looking for something more intimate and personal, away from the larger resorts in the area. We would definitely return as a place like this is hard to find.

Family run business with staff who were highly attentive & absolutely lovely in every way.

Our room was next to reception on the ground floor and you can hear everything which meant it didn’t feel very private for us.

The hotel is immaculate , centrally located, the staff and the owner were so helpful and generous always with a smile, it was so nice I stayed an extra day

The deluxe sea view room was comfortable, clean, modern updated renovation including accessories for ones needs.

The Calla Suites is located on the main busy roadway of Rethymos. One must cross the street to access the beach. Photos of the property display the suites on a private beach. The Deluxe room is tight for 2 people. A loft design with steps leading to the bedroom.The pool is sized minimally situated curbside of the main road. Reception is miniature and completes its duty at 8 pm. Unacceptable during peak season in August as well as the asking elevated rates. Overall the quality and service does not substantiate the money spent.

Helpful staff, lovely accommodation, great location, good breakfast

Beds were so comfortable! The view of the sea was amazing and our breakfast was fab! Fresh orange juice and fruit every morning! Also great coffee! Being served drinks and lunch on the beach and at the pool was a luxury! We felt very pampered and rested!

The rooms were well designed, very clean and confortable and high-tech! They have thought of everything 🙌🏻 The owners were present every day and made us feel very welcome and gave us many recommandations to visit the area! The breakfast was delicious and beautifully presented! We wish we stayed longer 😍

Everything was perfect!

This entire property is new and is absolutely beautiful! It is family owned and they go out of their way to make you feel welcome and they are extremely friendly and helpful! The room was so clean and they had little gifts for us as it was part of our honeymoon! We wish we could have stayed here longer. They have a wonderful rooftop as well where we watched the sunset every night. Across the street is the beach where they have beach service.

Queen bed, but no queen-size duvet. Only single-bed duvets. Kitchenette with stove top, but it would be nice to have plates and or cooking items. Breakfeast is a little expensive, but plenty of restaurant and market options around.

Calla was a perfect stop for my daughter and I to enjoy some relaxation after our cruise and get our legs back after being on a ship for 8 days. We loved everything about this hotel. The amenities felt luxury but also very comfortable, and laid back. The owners and their family treated us like we were family and so kind. They offered many ideas for local restaurants and sights to see. Highly recommend!

We had an awesome stay. Michaelis and his team were amazing hosts and made us feel very much at ‘home away from home’. Massive thumbs up for great hospitality and facilities. We hope to come back and stay here again for longer.

First off the boutique hotel is just perfect. The rooms are so well appointed for couples or families with kitchenettes, multiple bathrooms, seperate areas, etc. All this across from a beautiful beach managed by the hotel. The staff is very friendly and warm. You also have free access to parking . The location is excellent as well, far enough from the louder and busier area of old town but close enough for you to indulge. You should put this property on the top of your list if going to Rethymno!

We absolutely loved our stay at Calla and didn't want to leave! Firstly, the staff are incredible - this is true customer service and it is so rare to find now. The attention to detail was superb and all of the staff were so kind and professional without it feeling intrusive at all. The standard of accommodation in the private and communal areas is exceptional. The pool area, although modestly sized, is absolutely spotless and it was so easy to relax there. Alternatively, there are Calla-owned sunbeds and parasols on the beach which again are super comfortable. In both locations you can get waiter service for delicious drinks, snacks and meals. Good breakfast with lovely touches - every day there was a speciality from Crete to help us to learn about the cuisine. Overall we had the most fantastic stay and would love to return. Highly recommended. Thank you to all at Calla!
