Reviewed Sep 16, 2026Boato Hotel exceeded our expectations for a quiet getaway near El Peñol. The location by the reservoir is stunning: close enough to visit the Piedra del Peñol easily, yet far enough away to feel completely disconnected. Our room had beautiful views and a cozy, private atmosphere. The staff were exceptionally kind and attentive, making us feel very welcome from the very first moment. We loved that the hotel is dog-friendly, a detail that made a big difference for us. I enjoyed a one-hour kayak ride on the reservoir; it was very peaceful and one of the most relaxing experiences of the trip. The included breakfast was delicious and varied. The restaurant and bar have a good selection of alcoholic drinks, and the menu offers vegetarian and vegan options, which we really appreciated. The cherry on the sundae was when the staff came up to our room to light the fireplace. It was very romantic sitting in the jacuzzi with the fire going, enjoying the night and the views. The hot stone massage and the private hot tub were the perfect complement to relax after a day of exploring. A few minor maintenance details kept it from being absolutely perfect, but nothing that affected our enjoyment. We highly recommend it for couples or anyone looking to disconnect in a scenic, peaceful setting.

Reviewed Sep 15, 2026Blick auf das Wasser. Bequeme Möbel am Pool. Hotel und Möbel komplett neu! Kostenlose Parkplätze dabei! Personal sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit! Direkt hinter dem Hotel ist der Aufgang zum El Penol - dem großen Felsen!
Frühstück gab es nur eine Auswahl. Kein Buffet, aber das soll sich in Zukunft ändern. Es ist wie gesagt alles ganz neu, und man richtet sich noch ein!

Reviewed Sep 10, 2026Mooie huisjes met uitzicht op het Meer en de Bergen. Fijne ruime kamer met schone badkamer en keuken. Roomservice is inclusief. In avond komen ze vuurtje aanmaken op het terras als je dat wenst. Lekker bubbelbad.
Transport (tuk tuk)van hotel terug naar centrum Guatapé is in verhouding erg duur.

Road to the hotel is too bumpy. There could be better deck chairs for the balcony and a little table for the bath. Those are nitpicky details though, it was lovely.

It was not a bad problem for us, but the room didnt have air conditioning, so it was very warm from 14:00 to 17:00. Best is to stay outside the room furing that time.

Reviewed Sep 4, 2026Nous avons adoré notre séjour dans cet hôtel à Guatapé ! La vue depuis la chambre est tout simplement incroyable, un vrai coup de cœur. Le petit-déjeuner était excellent. Gros plus également pour le service de room service, entièrement gratuit, ce qui est vraiment appréciable. L’équipe est extrêmement disponible et réactive sur WhatsApp, toujours aux petits soins. L’hôtel propose aussi différentes activités en supplément, comme des sorties en bateau, du jet-ski ou encore des massages, que l’on peut même faire directement sur le balcon de la chambre avec une vue magnifique. Des Tuk-tuk sont également proposés pour rejoindre la ville, située à environ 20 minutes, et Piedra del Peñol à environ 10 minutes. Une adresse que nous recommandons à 100 % pour la vue, le service et la qualité de l’accueil. Nous y retournerions sans hésiter !

The food was great, and the additional amenities or experience how they call it are amazing, I really liked that they contacted me previous my stay to coordinate all the activities I could be interested and let me know the details about my stay.
I didn't like that they don't mention the hills you need to walk between rooms and lobby/dinner, I went with my mom, and the place is not really suited for older people, you need to walk a lot and they don't have transportation options inside the property. The other thing I would change is that restaurant closes really early, so if you arrive late there's no food options or late snaks available.

Reviewed Aug 30, 2026We had a wonderful stay at Boato Hotel in Guatapé! The room was fantastic, beautiful, and very comfortable, and the staff were incredibly kind and welcoming. The highlight of our stay was the exceptional open-air massage by the lake—such a peaceful, relaxing, and unforgettable experience in a stunning setting. We would definitely love to come back. Highly recommended!
However, there are a few things that could be improved. The rooms really need air conditioning, as the heat can become unbearable during the day. It would also be helpful to install mosquito screens on the doors and windows so that guests can leave them open without letting insects inside. Finally, more comfortable outdoor chairs would make it much easier to relax and enjoy the magnificent lakeside setting. Overall, we had a lovely stay and would be happy to return!

La llegada es un poco complicada, ya que es por una vía medio destapada. No es apto para personas con movilidad reducida o adultos mayores debido al acceso a la habitación. Horario de bar y restaurante un poco reducido.

Reviewed Aug 19, 2026Une cabane en bois spacieuse qui surplombe le lac avec une magnifique vue sur les montagnes. Un jacuzzi très agréable et des équipements modernes et propres. Room service appréciable même si le délai est parfois un peu long le soir. Petit déjeuner excellent et très bon rapport qualité prix. Emplacement à 15min en voiture du centre de Guatapé, mais possibilité de prendre des Uber ou tuk tuk pour monter jusqu’à l’hôtel. Joli ponton au bord du lac avec la possibilité de faire du kayak gratuitement. D’autres activités sont proposées par l’hôtel (tour en bateau, jetski, etc.). Idéal pour un séjour en amoureux.
Room service parfois un peu lent et connexion Wifi qui saute parfois.

Reviewed Aug 14, 2026Me gustó la ubicación y la accesibilidad. Las instalaciones muy bonitas y prácticas. Un ambiente muy acogedor y rodeado de naturaleza con mucha paz y silencio en general. Restaurante con una amplia variedad en su menú y responden ágilmente a las solicitudes de alimentación. Cumplen un horario un poco estricto para las comidas pero es entendible.
El personal que estuvo no parecía muy bien entrenado en atención al cliente. Gabriela la recepcionista ni mira a la cara cuando uno llega, está como llenando los formularios y requisitos. Poco amable Dayan quien nos condujo al cuarto y nos mostró las intalaciones fue mas amable, sin embargo hubo detalles del cuarto que no nos explicó, como por ejemplo que el black out principal tenía un control remoto. Hicimos la solicitud d euna toalla adicional para el cuarto porque solo habúa una y nunca la llevaron. Pedimos un atado de leña adicional (que es pago) para mantener la fogata prendida por más tiempo y nos dijeron que lo llevaba el chico que prendía las fogatas cuando terminara la ronda por cada cabaña. Finalmente a las dos horas y después de hacer este mismo pedido dos veces más respondieron que este chico ya había acabado su turno y se había ido. En el chat del hotel no confirman si reciben los mensajes de las solicitudes. Se les sugiere llevar los platos de comida a las cabañas con las tapas y dejarlas, pues a veces pueden quedar sobras y no hay con que taparlas hasta el día siguiente, corriendo el riesgo de que lleguen animales ó insectos.

Reviewed Aug 10, 2026Kahvaltı Gayet yeterliydi. Çoktan seçmeli olması işimizi çok kolaylaştırdı. Banyo ve sıcak su çok iyiydi. Yatak ve oda çok rahattı. Gölde kano keyfi çok iyiydi,sakin bir bölgede olması endeniyle rahatlıkla gezebildik. Bahçesinde farklı kuşları görebildik. Akşamları balkonda ateş yakmaları da çok keyifliydi.
Yemek kalitesi iyiydi ancak benim seçtiğim yemeği beğenmedim ve açıkçası hiç yiyemedim. İki masa olmasına rağmen çok uzun bekledik. Oda sabahları çok sıcaktı ancak dışarıda olduğumuz için etkilenmedik. Bir de etraf akşamları çok karanlıktı. Gölde ve etrafında da bir ışık olmadığı için açıkçası balkonda akşam keyfi pek olamadı. Etrafta hafifi bir aydınlatma ambiyansı kesinlikle arttıracaktır. Manzaralı oda seçtik ancak balkon önünde çalılar çok yüksek olduğu için harika bir göl manzarasını maalesef göremedik.

Reviewed Aug 4, 2026Fantastische plek! Heerlijk huisje met fantastische faciliteiten. Een heerlijk bad op je veranda. Het personeel doet alles voor je. Echt een hele fijne ervaring.
Het ligt een beetje ver van Guatapé, dat is op zich geen probleem. Echter er zijn erg weinig Ubers beschikbaar en de tuk tuk die het hotel regelt is veel duurder dan een uber. Dat is echt jammer.

Reviewed Aug 2, 2026The setting. In a beautiful area. The concept of having private cabins out of sight of each other with beautifil views of the lake from your deck. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good.
Publicity for this "hotel" needs to be more honest and be clear on the accesibility. Reception/restaurant area is at the top of a hill. The cabins are spread around a pretty steep hillside down to the lake shore. Vehicles cannot get past reception so heavy bags etc need to be physically manhandled including use of a little atv and some strong hotel workers. But you still have to walk down, and more importantly back up, to reception and your vehicle. This is not possible for people with mobility or health issues. Our cabin had no cieling fan, no aircon and no mosquito net. We had a small table top fan which sadly had very little effect on the afternoon heat. If you chose to leave windows and doors open in the evening and night, you had insects flying around. We only booked one night so probably did not get to take advantage of the watersports facilities on offer. Probably this is for younger people on a few days break, to make the most of the surroundings. Be careful if you drive in with a normal car because there are some very uneven surfaces on the track.

No tiene aire acondicionado, dentro de las habitaciones te ahogas durante el día, y fuera no hay ni una sombra. Nada recomendable.

Room poorly maintained. Hot tub is basically just a big bath and takes over 2 hours to fill and is then cold. Quite isolated and very little to do. Very noisy and not relaxing due to partying neighbours and boats on the lake.

El personal del hotel es desagradable y vago. Me olvidé un objeto personal en la habitación (sabiendo con certeza donde lo dejé) y a parte de no ayudarme, me trataron como si estuviese molestando. El objeto nunca apareció. La cabaña estaba llena de insectos y cuando se hace de noche no puedes abrir ninguna ventana porque te invaden.

It was a little hot in the afternoon since there was no air conditioning. I also would have liked a little more coffee in the morning to enjoy with the beautiful view.

Reviewed Jul 15, 2026La ubicación de única, en medio del embalse del Peñol. Por las noches te encienden la hoguera en la habitación y el ambiente es fantástico. El desayuno también es muy bueno.
Por poner una pega, el acceso con coche no es fácil: se accede por un camino sin asfaltar con muchas rocas sueltas y desnivel, me costó mucho subir la cuesta con un coche de alquiler pequeño.

Por ahí sería bueno una mejor señalización de la ubicación del hotel que te guíe desde el acceso de la carretera.

Reviewed Jul 8, 2026Der Ausblick auf den See war traumhaft. Die Hütten waren so angelegt, dass man sehr privat war. Das Bett war bequem.
Es gab keine Klimaanlage, sodass es ab mittags/abends sehr warm wurde. Abends/nachts kühle es aber wieder herunter. Das Team war bemüht, sprach aber häufig nur Spanisch.

Reviewed Jun 30, 2026Die Lage war atemberaubend. Die Mitarbeitenden sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit soweit möglich. Das Essen schmeckt ausserordentlich gut. Ideal für trittsichere (Wege sehr rudimentär gestaltet), Wärme und Sonnen unempfindliche Menschen!
Bei Sonnenschein ist die Unterkunft tagsüber über 40° Celsius – kritisch für Elektro-Geräte. Keinen Sonnenschutz wie Sonnenschirm vorhanden/verfügbar. Whirlpool funktionierte zur Hälfte – keine Luftdüsen. Personal war dies bekannt – keine Reaktion für eine Lösung. Nicht geeignet, um barfuss im Zimmer/Terrasse zu gehen – div. vorstehende Nägel. Zimmer hat Renovation nötig. Weg zum Zimmer sehr rudimentär und steil angelegt. Verrechnung der IVA von 19% trotz Touristenvisum und Hinweis von mir. Nach Einreichung des Links zur staatlichen Website über IVA bei Touristenvisum keine Reaktion seitens des Hotel…

El calor fue demasiado. El techo es metal y solo uno, así que era casi imposible quedarse dentro de la habitación a partir de las 11am hasta las 4/5pm El desayuno no era muy bueno, porciones muy pequeñas y no muy generoso con las opciones.

En las mañanas entra todo el sol en la cara y en las tardes entra todo el poniente, no hay aire acondicionado por lo tanto se siente demasiado calor y te despierta el sol

Nothing. A word of warning, the drive up to the hotel gets really bad and recommend using a 4X4 SUV. However the hotel itself was impeccable.
