Sonho do Mar

My family and I absolutely loved Sonho do Mar Hotel in South Goa. This is such a peaceful, loving place – quiet, clean, and perfect to unwind away from the crowds. The staff are incredibly friendly and made us feel at home from day one. A big thank you to Manager Binod Sapkota for the warm hospitality and personal attention. Check-in was smooth, requests were handled quickly, and nothing was too much trouble. Rooms were tidy and comfortable, and the whole property has such a calm vibe. My family didn’t want to leave. We will definitely visit next time. Highly recommend Sonho do Mar if you want peace, kindness, and genuine service in South Goa. Serene location right on Agonda Beach, off Covalam town.

Sonho do Mar was exactly the kind of place we had hoped to find in Goa. The sea view rooms with balconies were simple but charming, with a relaxed, slightly hostel-like atmosphere in the best possible way. The covered terrace directly on the beach became our favorite place and felt almost like our own cozy living room by the sea. What truly made this stay special was the staff. The team, mostly from Nepal, was incredibly warm, positive, attentive, and genuinely caring. They remembered guests by name almost immediately and created such a welcoming atmosphere. In the evenings, they would sometimes sit together playing guitar and drums and invite guests to join in, which gave the place a wonderful sense of community. The dogs and cats around the property added even more charm to the atmosphere. The dogs were calm, sweet, well behaved, and almost seemed to lovingly watch over both the hotel and its guests. If you are looking for polished luxury, this may not be it. But if you are looking for a beautiful beachfront stay with heart, soul, and genuinely kind people, this place is wonderful. We would absolutely return.

There were a few small inconsistencies with housekeeping from time to time, such as towels, water, or coffee items occasionally being forgotten. However, whenever we addressed something, it was immediately taken care of, so these issues felt very minor overall.

The nicest people with the best location right on the beach. It is like holidaying with your second family. You will not meet nicer people or better food.

We stayed at Sonho do Mar for 2 nights and honestly really loved it. The place is pretty, right on Agonda beach so you are basically waking up to the sound of the waves every day. It has a very calm, easy vibe which made it super relaxing. The hospitality was great. Binod and Rajesh were both kind and welcoming, and made the whole stay feel comfortable. Food was a big highlight for us. Everything was freshly made and you could really tell. One should definitely try the jhol momo here. Overall, it's definitely a place we would come back to. We'd happily recommend it to friends and family, and it will always be on our list when we are in South Goa.

We had a lot of bugs come in the first night but wasn’t a huge issue.

It was one of the best experiences i’ve had..it was my childhood dream to stay on the beach in a sea facing room. The stay turned out to be exactly how my childhood self would have dreamed about it

Sehr schönes Hotel. Einfach ausgestattet, aber man braucht gar nicht mehr! Wunderbares Frühstück und Abendessen. Sehr freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal. Direkter Strandzugang und vorallem wunderschöner und sauberer Strand! Hätte nicht besser sein können! Ich würde sofort wieder kommen!

Rooftop Bungalow Nr.1 nicht zu empfehlen, wenn man Lärmempfindlich ist. Liegt direkt über dem Restaurant, abends hört man sehr gut die Musik und das Gerede. Die Sonnenliegen haben leider keine Sonnenschirme. Im laufe des Tages liegt man in der prallen Sonne.

I had a long stay at Sonho do Mar. Booked 6 nights and needed up extending for another 3. Agonda is a small paradise, really chilled during this time of the year and Sonho do mar make it even ala better experience . The bedrooms facing the sea are a lush , very clean and comfy and amazing view to the beach. The restaurant is also great :) Staff is also amazing, Rajesh, Vino and all staff members are always ready to help and make out the best of your stay.

I loved everything and this was the best stay I had in India so far :) I fully recommend this place !

My partner and I stayed at Sonho do Mar for one night. We got a room facing the beach, and waking up to that view was pretty special! Staff were super friendly and helpful, and the food and drinks were great. Would definitely recommend!

48 hours of doing nothing was my plan at the end of the trip and this accommodation suited this quite well! Staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful, all meals available at the hotel and my room right at the beach was a dream.

The accommodation's location was excellent, just a stone's throw from the beach. The staff was very friendly and always willing to help. The cottages were cozy and clean, and the surroundings were well-maintained. Overall, a great place to stay!

Power outages were frequent in the cottage, though this seemed to be a common issue in the area, even in restaurants. Hot water was rarely available, but due to the warm weather, this wasn’t a major problem for me. The air conditioning didn’t work well, which made the heat a bit uncomfortable at times.

It was all good at Sonho do mar and there is nothing we didn't like about it

A 30 seconds walk to the beach with very few people around - it was bliss- and you get a beach towel every day during your stay - a nice touch. Room is functional with the best shower we had during our 18 days trip in India. A fridge would have been a nice addition but cold water was readily available. Food good and reasonably priced. Staff was friendly and ambience is relaxed. Overall good value for money; we enjoyed our stay. Would recommend it and would go back.

Could be noisy occasionally in the evenings with dogs howling and proximity of kitchen but I am a light sleeper too. Main issue we had was trying to pay by card at the end of our stay and it took a while to get that sorted- had a conversation about that with the owner and still think a working card machine needs to be sorted. 😊
