The accommodation was clean and well organized, with plenty of space for three children and two adults to stay comfortably. Even a few days before departure, the kids were already excited, happily choosing which beds they would sleep in. Near the accommodation, we visited Tunis Village, where we had a pottery-making experience, and we also enjoyed a felucca ride on the lake. In the evening, we were served a warm meal on the rooftop, and we made a bonfire where we roasted marshmallows and drank herbal tea. At night, we spent a beautiful time watching the countless stars in the sky. In the morning, we were treated to an absolutely outstanding breakfast—the best we’ve had during our stay. It was generous, beautifully prepared, and incredibly delicious, making it the perfect way to end our trip. The manager, Ahmed, provided thoughtful guidance even before our departure and was kind and warm throughout the entire trip, always there to help us. Thanks to Ahmed, our trip to Fayoum was much smoother, and we were able to fully enjoy and experience so many wonderful things. If you are planning a trip to Fayoum, I would highly recommend this accommodation. I would especially recommend the sense of comfort, coziness, warmth, excitement, and joy that we experienced here.

Northern Lake Lodges are hidden gem in Fayum. Quiet (few barking dogs, but it´s normal in Egypt), nicely done with details, hospitality and exceptional food, especially bedouin style breakfast. Thank you Ahmed and all the guys for nice weekend. We will be back.

La struttura è perfetta per chiunque: io sono stata con la mia famiglia e ho avuto un'esperienza molto positiva. Le stanze sono pulite e comode fornite di tutto il necessario. Consiglio vivamente di fare colazione in struttura, avrete l'occasione di gustare la tipica colazione egiziana con vista su un campo di ulivi e il deserto sullo sfondo. Il personale è fantastico, gentile, accogliente e disponibile. Per chi arriva al Cairo, c'è la possibilità di chiedere il transfer fino al lodge comodamente in auto privata ad un prezzo onesto. Inoltre, consiglio vivamente il safari nel deserto proposto dalla stessa struttura: vivrete l'esperienza unica di passare una giornata nel deserto, facendo varie tappe in vari punti panoramici. Se vi capita Walid, allora l'esperienza sarà particolarmente bella. Ahmed, il gestore della struttura, è particolarmente disponibile e vi farà sentire a casa. Ahmed our host was so welcoming! He was helping us with everything we needed, he made us feel like home! The place is magical, very quiet and feels like you are home away from home. Sustainable, warm, comfortable is the best choice for your visit to Fayum. Ahmed helped us book all our activities making everything smooth for us- we couldn’t ask for a better stay !

운영자가 바뀌면 달라지는 많은 숙소들과 달리, 여전히 만족스러운 숙박이었습니다. 저녁식사(별도 요금), 아침식사 모두 정말 맛있어요. 직원들이 정말 친절합니다. 요청하면 방 앞에 모닥불을 피워주시고, 방갈로는 화장실이 현대적이고 침구류도 깨끗하고 방에서도 별을 보며 잠들 수 있어요. 아침에는 지저귀는 새 소리와 염소 울음을 들으며 밥을 먹을 수 있어요.

겨울에 투숙할 때 느낀 공통점인데, 소음 문제가 있습니다. 롯지 자체에서 만드는 소음이 아니라 주변 다른 숙소에서 너무 시끄럽게 음악을 밤 늦게까지 틉니다. 행사장 처럼 볼륨이 커요. 아침에는 옆방(3호실)에 묵는 분들이 아침에 아주 크게 음악을 틀었네요 땅이 울릴 정도로. 조용히 쉬고 싶은 투숙객들을 위해 자제시켜 주셔야 할 것 같아요. 성공적인 여행이 절반은 소음때문에 망쳐지는 기분입니다.

I wanted to spend a few days away from the hustle and bustle of Cairo, and Fayoum turned out to be a true gem. The region is definitely worth visiting, offering a perfect mix of natural beauty and fascinating sights. Ahmed, from Northern Lake Lodge, was an incredibly attentive host. He organized various activities for us, including buggy rides, horseback riding, and 4x4 adventures, all starting directly from the hotel, which was very convenient. The accommodations are beautiful, clean, and well-maintained, with comfortable amenities. The meals are excellent—I highly recommend booking dinners to experience the authentic local flavors. A big thank you to Ahmed for making our stay truly memorable!

Northern Lake Lodge is a very neat, peaceful, and welcoming place. Safety: we were two ladies staying there, and we felt completely safe and comfortable throughout our entire stay. The calm atmosphere was so enjoyable that we did not feel the need to leave the lodge to do activities ☺️ although the place offers a range of organised activities. Room: we stayed in a bungalow, which was spacious, very clean, and comfortable. Location: the location is excellent, as it directly overlooks Qaroun Lake, offering beautiful views of the lake, the olive trees, and the surrounding mountains. Owner and Staff: Ahmed is extremely welcoming, attentive, and professional. He clearly knows how to handle the needs of different guests with great care and efficiency, checking on us regularly to ensure we were comfortable. The staff were equally warm, kind, and professional, making us feel as if we were staying with family and friends. Food: the food was absolutely delicious and prepared with great care. Overall, the lodge is highly recommend, especially for anyone looking for a peaceful, relaxing, and safe stay.

Our stay at Northern Lake Lodge is a highlight of our trip to Egypt. The site is dreamy - there is a relaxed atmosphere, beautiful views and it's in a great location. The stay was wonderful and we particularly enjoyed sipping mint tea by the evening campfire and having a feast for breakfast with the distant view of flamingoes on the lake. Ahmed and the team are super friendly and hospitable, and helped us to arrange several incredible trips. You can't miss the safari tour and visiting the desert on an unforgettable trip with a legendary tour guide! We also recommend the boat trip and taking a tuktuk into Tunis village to explore. The site has a calm, natural, outdoorsy feel whilst offering spacious, clean and cosy accommodation options. It's the perfect relaxed getaway after exploring Egypt's cities and busier tourist sites, and deserves a place on any itinerary in its own right.

Mosquito bites! But that's just a factor of the local landscape so come prepared. (Sitting out and enjoying dusk from the cosy outdoor space is worth it!)

I can't decide what is best, the beautiful setting or the warm hospitality, but both were fantastic. The wooden cabins were so creatively designed; our daughter enjoyed the queen-size top bunk while I enjoyed being in the cozy large nook below. The property dog is extremely gentle and friendly and if one stops petting him he will gently lay a paw on you to demonstrate what he likes! The manager was so gracious and organized, whether for meal times or arranging vehicles. He even arranged horses to be brought direct to the lodge for us to use with guide. The food was amazing - we wish we had brought extra stomachs for everything put before us! The upper level of the restaurant, looking out on the enormous lake, was delightful.

🇰🇷 한국어 후기 이집트에 살면서 이 숙소에 묵어 봤다는 것은 마치 인생의 모든 좋은 운을 끌어다 쓴 것과 같다. 그만큼 행운이라 할 정도로 만족스러운 경험이었다. 페이윰의 이 숙소를 즐기는 몇 가지 꿀팁을 남기자면, 1. 카이로에서 숙소로 이동할 때 ‘사막 보호구역’을 지나서 갈 것 (강력 추천) 이곳은 너무나도 저평가된 사막이며 아직 관광객들에게 널리 알려지지 않아 마치 우주에 있는 듯한 고요함을 느낄 수 있다. 보호구역 통과 비용은 5달러이지만 그 이상의 가치가 있다. 2. 저녁 식사는 꼭 숙소에서 먹어볼 것 이집트에서 살며 수많은 맛집을 다녀봤지만, 이 숙소 루프탑에서 먹은 식사가 가장 맛있었다. 사막 언덕뷰, 탁 트인 루프탑, 이국적인 카페트와 좌식 테이블 분위기 때문만이 아니라, 음식 하나하나가 전문 셰프가 만든 듯한 맛이다. 향신료도 과하지 않고, 깔끔하고 깊은 풍미. 가격까지 너무 착해서 계산할 때 더 행복했다. 3. 아침 식사는 무조건 숙소에서 먹을 것 전날 사막뷰를 충분히 즐겼다 생각했지만, 고요한 아침 공기의 분위기는 또 다르다. 이집트 전통식으로 구성된 아침 식사는, 내가 그동안 먹어왔던 ‘이집트 음식’이 모두 가짜였다는 것을 깨닫게 했다. 갓 튀긴 병아리콩 튀김이 이렇게 맛있으니, 이 음식이 왜 국민음식인지 이제야 이해했다. 민트티를 주문하면 갓 수확한 민트를 함께 내준다. 우유가 들어간 커피(카페라테)도 꼭 추천한다. 4. 숙소의 아흐메드와 꼭 대화해볼 것 숙소 전반을 책임지는 아흐메드는 5성급 호텔 컨시어지보다도 빠르고 정중하며 배려심이 많다. 선한 인상에 말투까지 부드러워, 그와 대화하다 보면 게스트도 착해지는 기분이다. 좋은 에너지를 가진 사람과의 대화는 그 자체로 여행의 일부가 된다. 5. 피곤해도 ‘저녁 불멍’과 구름 사이로 보이는 달을 꼭 보고 잘 것 캠핑장이 아님에도 불구하고 장작불을 피워주는 아흐메드와 팀 덕분에, 타닥타닥 장작 타는 소리, 고요한 밤의 새소리, 강가에서 들리는 여행객들의 노랫소리가 은은하게 섞여 캠핑 분위기를 충분히 즐길 수 있다. 달 보며 소원 비는 건 덤. (머쉬멜로우를 가져가면 구워 먹을 수 있다!) 이집트에서 살면서 집을 나설 때부터 돌아오는 길까지, 이보다 멋진 여행은 없었다. 너무 마음에 드는 숙소라 백 번쯤 감탄한 것 같다. 사실 페이윰에서 유명한 고급 글램핑장을 가려다가 풀북이라 대신 이곳을 선택한 건데, 오히려 그곳이 만석이었던 덕분에 ‘노던 레이크 롯지’를 만난 것이 신의 뜻이 아닐까 싶을 만큼 만족스러웠다. 다녀오자마자 또 가고 싶다고 느끼게 되는, 몇 안 되는 소중한 숙소다. 더 많은 사람이 이곳에서 도심의 소음을 내려놓고 휴식과 정화를 경험했으면 한다. 지금 이집트에 꼭 필요한 숙소다. 아 그리고 숙소에 강아지 한마리가 있는데 너무 순하고 사랑스럽다. 손! 하면 손도 내준다ㅋ 아이와 함께 간다면 모래놀이 장난감을 챙겨서 갈 것 --- 🇺🇸 English Review Staying at this lodge felt like using up all the good luck in my life at once — that’s how special and memorable the experience was. Bardzo fajnie organizowany Camp. Po pierwsze zameldowanie - dokładna lokalizacja przesłana na komunikatorze + osoba czekająca na nasz przyjazd. Na miejscu czyste namioty, przestrzenne. Mieliśmy namiot ze wspólną łazienką, ale to nie problem, bo łazienki są czyste. Obfite śniadania, super chill-outt na tarasie.

I went to Fayoum by myself and from the beginning Ahmed communicated with me and was very helpful all the time. I took the Safari tour with Waleed and spent the best day in the desert. The breakfast was amazing! And Waheeda, the dog walked with me to the lake that it’s just 10 minutes away from the camp. I would love to come back!

Hisham was a wonderful host, the camp also accommodated allergies perfectly!

The property is situated at the far Western end of Qarun Lake. It was such a beautiful respite from the intensity of Cairo. Peaceful, quiet, serene, the air was fresh, the sky gorgeously blue and filled with bird song and gentle breezes. The bungalow itself was marvelous. My 10 year old was absolutely delighted with her loft bunk bed and spent hours playing in it, using it as a fort. The room was simple, cleverly designed, and tasteful and the bathroom was clean and fresh and finished with very pretty tiles. There were big windows with screens and both a fan and AC. The grounds were beautifully maintained with flowers and plants everywhere. Everywhere I looked was filled with beauty. The staff were SO kind. Ahmed, the owner-operator went above and beyond to make sure that we had everything we needed. My 10 year old liked him so much that she wrote him a card. The food was exceptionally delicious - both the complimentary breakfast and the a la carte dinner. We LOVED it. Ahmed also arranged a safari trip for us to visit Wadi Hitan National Park - site of the prehistoric whale and mangrove fossils. That excursion was truly remarkable and should not be missed. Our guide, Waleed, was professional, kind and supremely competent. He was great with both of my children. They have their own delicious olives from the land that will soon be available for sale. I really can’t say enough good things about this place. We will definitely be back.

Very tranquil surroundings in the middle of the nature, with olive groves around and very well thought of any details of the bungalows, including the mosquito nets that enabled a cool air flow during the night. Very unique wooden bungalows in Egypt and also very clean! Bird watching especially of flamingos in winter months is a walking distance from the camp and can be amazing. Just go early in the morning to see the best. Ahmed, the manager and co-owner, is very polite and cooperative. And he gave us his very first jars of his own pickled olives from the grove :-).

Nothing really. Mosquitos are what You must expect around the lake but the bungalows are well equipped against these insects so You must only be careful in the evening when opening the door.

The place was calm, clean, and full of peace — exactly what we needed to recharge. The whole team was wonderful! Ahmed, the manager, is a wonderful and very cooperative person who truly cared about our comfort and made sure we had everything we needed. Hisham took great care of us and even helped when my friend wasn’t feeling well. The chef cooked delicious meals every time. And our amigo Waleed — such a kind and energetic man who really made our trip special. He took us on one of the best safari tours we’ve ever had.

I recently stayed at Northern Lake Lodge, and it was an unforgettable experience that highly exceeded my expectations. Located just a couple hours from the hustle and bustle of Cairo, the peaceful setting, with a beautiful view of the desert, calmed me instantly, and my simple yet clean and cozy tent welcomed me each evening with a warm, comfortable bed. The unique decor and attention to detail was lovely and didn't go unoticed. The meals were delicious, offering fresh, flavorful Egyptian cuisine and dining on the terrace or outside my tent's table, looking at the view was memorable. The full day desert tour was The Best! I had a once in a lifetime experience with my fabulous Bedouin guide, Walid, who was passionate about sharing the beauty of what Fayoum had to offer. The dreamy landscapes and variety of the desert was unlike any I've seen -- and I've been to many deserts around the world. Don't forget to look at the sky at night. Truly magical! The staff, including the owner, Nasr, were exceptional--attentive, welcoming, and they went out of their way to make my stay there memorable. Waheed, the soft and lovable Lodge dog, provided comfort and companionship and made sure I was safe when I went for walks. She was a pleasure to have around. I LOVE her! If you're looking for a unique and peaceful desert escape, Northern Lake Lodge is the perfect choice. I will be back!

Not really their fault but the camp next to us was very loud. We wanted a quiet camping area experience.

We have stayed at this location a number of times before so we came with the expectations of how things had been in the past. We booked a dinner as well as the included breakfast. The food for both meals was very good. The cabins are comfortable and meet the needs.

We had two cabins and two tents. Those who stayed in the tents were eaten up by mosquitoes. Only one night and each person had dozens of bites over their faces, necks, and hands and were uncomfortable for days afterward. A dog sat outside the cabins and barked from 3-4 am, keeping us awake. They did not offer any tea after dinner and then wanted to charge for drinks during the breakfast. There was alot of noise from a neighboring location as well as from other guests. It was not the quiet, peaceful atmosphere that we had previously experienced. It was way over priced for mosquito filled tents. There are many villas in the area that are much more affordable.

Awesome quiet place. Great helpful hosts (could be without English depends on the shift). Mosquito repellent inside the tent. Comfortable mattress with clean linen. Tasty oriental breakfast with a great view. Guys let me use their stove to brew my coffee.

It was a bit hard to find the guys in the bushes. Especially without internet connection and in the late evening. I suppose it's better to separate "tent' and "bungalow"/'wooden cabin" not only "tent". I would say that the price is a bit too high․

Fantastic place with very humble and always helpful Mr Mohammed as owner who knows the area well. The wooden cabin houses are beautiful and absolutely sufficient. The location is favourable for exploring the area including Wadi Al Hitan and Wadi El Rayan.

I like everything… The room was amazing and the food as well! The owner of the Camp is completely an amazing guy and all his worker’s too. They helped us a lot in many things that we were asking and we really appreciate that help. They are kind and very hospitable people! May God bless this place! I was able to see the stars too by using their telescope! I had a lot of fun!

Some tents have beds and some have mattresses on the ground so make sure you know which one you would like and book accordingly. But the tents are very nice and comfortable

A scam business, showing the photo with wood cabin looking houses, but when I arrive there only seeing the very low end tent. I asked them for refund and they refuzed to do so. just waste the money. If I run a business, customer do not meet their expectation and want to cancel. Full refund will be issued because that is the right way to do business. they can just honestly show the photos of tent, but they show me the wood cabin houses. It is totally deceiving.

The location was good.

We booked a tent and visited the place two days before to see how it is. The tent was very basic, overpriced (55 USD!) and not suitable for us. We asked for a better room and they told us that there were not any available. We tried to cancel the booking because it would be not possible to sleep in the cold night in this tent but they didn't accept it. They simply kept our money! This is our experience with this place.
