The ideal location just south of Muncho Lake
Schöne Cabin
Das Restaurant lässt für das Abendessen zu wünschen übrig. Allerdings war das Frühstück gut
Paper-thin walls or better a thin connection door. With children as neighbors, not really pleasant

Very clean, good location on highway, staff very friendly and helpful
We loved the staff. They made us feel very welcome.
Very convenient location at the Alaska HIghway. The breakfast (and other food items) was both enormous and delicious. Homemade bread and everything made with great passion. Thanks to Jack and everyone around for tips around the area and stories about the motel.

Clean room, comfortable bed, friendly staff.
The restaurant is the best feature. Great food, with homemade breads, the best bacon I’ve ever tasted, and somehow—at this latitude—everything was fresh.
The log structure means the rooms are small and dark.
Remote only a few units and not a lot of activity in the area

The down home, hospitality and friendliness of the staff.
This place was better than expected. It is an older log cabin motel and it was very clean! It has a lot of character and the food in the restaurant was homemade and tasty, especially the breakfast! I made an error in my reservation and they were very kind to accommodate us.
room was clean and spacious
staff was very unwelcoming and rude (owners?), no coffee in room and none in the "lobby" unless you purchased a cup for $3.25! very spartan room, no shampoo, lotion, conditioner, etc.
Everything from the cozy, clean room to the friendly owners who made you feel at home and the great home-cooked food in the cafe, including giant cinnamon rolls and French toast, made our stay outstanding.
Was able to arrive past check in time. Fantastic breakfast at the restaurant on site.
Breakfast N/A. Bought coffee only. Cabin motel is nice. The floor wasn't level and sounds from the room next door were clear but overall it was a great place to stay . Basic, clean and comfortable.
Room was updated and the bed was very comfortable and cozy. Location is right off the highway.
Arrived late but our rooms were ready and waiting for us. Cozy rustic motel that had everything to be comfortable. Room was super clean, bed was comfy, good pillows, hot water was very quick. Breakfast was very good but way too much food. My toast was the size of a dinner plate but delicious. Lots of interesting items to look at while waiting for the eggs to be cooked.
The restaurant had good food and we liked the easy atmosphere. bed was comfortable and the room had everything we expect. it was a good place to stop for the night.
nothing
Convinient
No one was to be found on check-in
This is a basic room but the owners are nice and work hard to keep all the services going in this remote location. The food at the restaurant is phenomenal; HUGE servings! The homemade bread and cinnamon buns are worth the stop.
The facilities are not conducive to just relaxing and hanging out. But it is perfect for those passing through or activities on Muncho Lake.
Everything was clean and well maintained. Breakfast was excellent, good value for the money.
Felt ike home. Welcomed and trusted.
Hot water as not working.
Rustic log cabin, which was roomy enough. Property was well maintained and clean.
Great little road side motel with a breakfast that will blow your mind, my go to place in the area.
Clean room, great location. Enjoyed my stay.
Beds were very comfortable. Park in front of unit
Not much selection for food. Everything seemed overpriced. Poor reception for the tv
I stay there every trip on Alaska hiway. Far as I am concerned, best beds on my trip
Great place. Clean and comfortable. The beds were amazing!
Old and Rustic but clean. If you are a 5 star prissy then maybe not for you. Perfect for my family and I.
No wood stove or fireplace in the log rooms :( I understand though, I wouldn’t trust many of the travellers (I’ve encountered many) with a flashlight let alone a match. Same type of travellers getting outside their vehicle to feed and take a closeup of a Bison.
Loved the log cabin style motel in the gorgeous mountains of northern BC. The room, food & staff were excellent, got the biggest breakfast sandwich of my life! Look forward to stay again on my next alcan journey
Best bacon I’ve had in years!
Friendly, welcoming staff. Wonderful home cooked meals with fresh bread
Great location. Easy check-in and checkout. Basic room but perfect for what what we needed. Great parking.
Very thin walls. Very easy to hear other couples waking up in the morning. Maybe just me, but would have been nice to have a deadbolt on the door.
Nice staff. Beautiful location. Great price just for an overnight stay.
The motel is cute, very clean, beds were comfortable...breakfast at the dinner next door was amazing! Best French toast ever and we just loved the entire place. Dog friendly and easy late check-in. We wouldn't come through this way without stay here & eating here! Seriously, best bread from Skagway, Alaska to home!
I wish we could have stayed another night and had time for some hiking and lake time. Just passing through this stay.
My husband and I have begun putting the Double G Service on our "must stop" list. It was recommended to us by a Trucker in Ft Nelson and we have thoroughly enjoyed taking a break here, having a delicious home cooked meal with bread to die for, huge sandwiches, and delicious bacon! The ambiance is great. If you feel like you need special pampering don't stop. If you're down to earth and understand these folks work hard, appreciate common sense and built a life in the middlenof nowhere this is your place. We never met Jack but met his son, Scott, who has taken over with his wife, Sylvia. Enjoyed our interaction with him, his crazy stories. He cooked us a fabulous breakfast and sent us on our way fat, dumb and happy!! We'll be stopping again!!
location is excellent. everything was clean
floor heaved so bad in room 3 that opening and closing the door for seniors very difficult. need some chairs and a sofa in all the empty space
Basically a clean if not fairly beat up room.
Just pretty beat up. Stood and waited too too long waiting to get seated in the restaurant.
This is only a review of the breakfast food as that is the only thing I purchased there. After reading the reviews, I was interested to see what the fuss was about and mildly curious as to how gruff the owner was. I wasn’t a huge fan of his, there’s a fine line between gruff and jerk. But I didn’t really care as we were just there for a quick breakfast before some hiking and the hotsprings. I did notice that he treated the local road crews much better than those who were obviously tourists. As for the breakfast…I wasn’t overly impressed with that either. The hashbrowns were overcooked and had very little flavour. The bacon was thick sliced but the taste wasn’t anything impressive. Sure, the bread was homemade but he slices it so thick for toast that it was almost impossible to take a bite. Overall, did not live up to the hype. This cost difference between this place and the buffet breakfast just up/down the road at Northern Rockies Lodge wasn’t that huge and at least the lodge has decent coffee. Summary: not the worst breakfast I’ve ever had but wouldn’t go again.
Great food, comfortable beds
Clean comfortable stay in a beautiful Provincial Park
Convenient to our travel plans. Quiet.
Beds were squeaky. Power problems since they run in a generator so the lights flickered in and off for quite a time. Thought there would be nice trails to walk our dogs but there was not. No place to hang your clothes. Food was excellent and friendly staff.
We had dinner. It was really good. I had soup that tasted home made. My daughters had the BBQ Rib and BLT. Everything was really good!
No complaints
It was quiet.
No attendant on Sunday. Correspondence was OK that the room would be ready and key inside, but the location of the rooms separated and behind the business was confusing and led to a confrontation that was less than gracious.
Great location. Rustic motel cabin. Clean and comfortable. TV but no tea/coffee facilities in room. Host made us very welcome, good sense of humour. Breakfast was served in the cafe attached, freshly cooked by host, large portions, plentiful coffee/tea. Enjoyed banter with regular clientele. Would stop again.
Lack of kettle in room.

The owners were very friendly. We stayed in the Motel and the beds were very comfortable. The food was excellent and very large portions. This is one place on the Alcan which I will stay again at.
There wasn't anything.
The location was amazing. Breakfast was very good .
Nice log room. Very comfortable.
No hair dryer. Need hooks in bathroom for towels. Employee at front office was extremely rude.
Great location, Food, fuel and lodging all available.
Quiet, comfortable
Food was great, location was perfect for the hot springs and muncho lake. Owners/staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the area. I would stay here again for sure!

For travelers seeking a haven of safety and hospitality, Double G falls short of expectations. Before booking a stay, there are pertinent details that merit consideration to ensure a seamless experience. 1. Connectivity: While complimentary WiFi is offered, its satellite-based infrastructure necessitates judicious usage to avoid disruptions. 2. Power Supply: Complimentary electricity is provided, sourced from a diesel generator. Guests are advised to manage their consumption responsibly to avoid inconveniences. 3. Pet Policy: Double G accommodates pets at no additional cost. However, guests should be aware of stringent regulations, including a $100 charge for dogs found on beds, off-leash, or left unattended. It's essential to recognize that, while pets are welcome, the premises are governed by the proprietors' rules. 4. Privacy Concerns: Thin walls contribute to an environment where conversations can be inadvertently overheard, compromising privacy. 5. Maintenance Issues: The presence of a broken seal around the door raises concerns about security and insulation. 6. Customer Service: Regrettably, reports indicate a lack of attentive customer service, posing challenges for guests seeking assistance or guidance. 7. Solo Female Travelers: Due to the aforementioned factors, female travelers journeying alone may find Double G unsuitable for their needs. In essence, Double G prioritizes financial considerations over customer satisfaction, fostering an atmosphere reminiscent of bygone Eastern European eras rather than one of contemporary hospitality. Prospective guests are encouraged to weigh these factors carefully before making reservations.
