Reviewed Jul 17, 2026Wonderful stay, exceptionally kind staff, 2 large and clean onsen, superb kaiseki dinner and traditional breakfast, very large traditional room with tatami. We felt welcome, relaxed and had an amazing experience. Highly recommended!
This is not criticism but rather a suggestion: the hotel main facade would benefit from a renovation because it's quite old (which is fine per se) and not very well kept, so the very first impression before getting in the hotel (which is a bit dated but wonderful) isn't the best

Reviewed May 22, 2026Abbiamo scelto questo Ryokan per il nostro viaggio di nozze e il soggiorno è stato semplicemente meraviglioso. Si tratta di una vera chicca, una struttura molto antica, che trasuda fascino da ogni angolo e riesce a coniugare tradizione e autenticità in modo straordinario. Cucina – Sia la cena che la colazione sono rigorosamente in stile giapponese tradizionale: bisogna apprezzare questo tipo di proposta, ma la qualità è indiscutibile e i piatti sono stati tutti ottimi. Onsen – Assolutamente imperdibile. Il ryokan dispone di due piscine termali pubbliche, entrambe bellissime, con orari alternati tra uomini e donne. Il nostro consiglio è di arrivare nel primo pomeriggio, in questo modo avrete il tempo di godervi entrambe le piscine prima che finisca la giornata. È disponibile anche un onsen privato, che noi però non abbiamo utilizzato, preferendo quelli comuni. Nessun rimpianto. In oltre è a 10 minuti dalla stazione e vicino al monkey park (2-3 km). Puoi anche indossare vestiti tradizionali, offerti dal ryokan

Reviewed May 11, 2026The place is beautifully decorated and elegant. The staff have excellent service mind and are very attentive to guests. The atmosphere is peaceful and relaxing. The hotel offers complete facilities and amenities. I especially loved the beverage bar, which serves delicious matcha freshly prepared by the staff. The historic onsen is beautiful, featuring traditional wooden architecture and classic Japanese artistry. The accommodation is located in a charming old town area with many picturesque spots for photography.
The price is quite expensive.

The lobby is elegant, and every staff member provided outstanding service. They even arranged our luggage transfer to the next hotel free of charge and kindly drove us to the bus stop—an unforgettable level of care.

Sin duda será inolvidable. Aprendimos mucho de esta experiencia inmersiva. Las cenas y desayunos son un espectáculo. Probamos diversidad de sabores y texturas por primera vez.
Se podrían ofrecer más entretenciones como por ejemplo enseñar la ceremonia del té o juegos típicos para que la estancia sea aún más divertida.

Amazing breakfast and dinner with tradional food. Friendly staff, even if English was not always fluent, but it didn’t matter at all. Private onsen was really good, we enjoyed it a lot. Strong recommendation!

The staff could not have been any nicer and helpful. Great resource for navigating the area and train schedules. So welcoming! I can’t wait to go back. 🥰

Reviewed Feb 27, 2026Gorgeous, enormous room for 3, included a dining table area, TV/couch area, and massive raised tatami mat area. Lobby and free coffee/tea area is lovely and relaxing. Was surprised by the large gift shop they had with fantastic local treats as well! Exceptional breakfast & dinner - so much food and presented so nicely. The sushi we had as part of our dinner menu was divine! The hotel also accepts requests for additional items through booking.com, and we ordered a birthday cake which was served after dinner and was excellent and hassle-free. We also booked their private spa one evening which included a sauna, steam room, hot onsen, cold plunge, and heated outdoor seating. Every detail from the plush robes & traditional sauna hats, choosing your sauna oil, AND the awesome massage chair and shaved ice machine & free beers (!!) blew us away. Definitely worth it! It's walkable to the train station though you can also take their free shuttle, and very walkable to the Lawsons next to the station. TIP: get a street photo with their traditional Japanese umbrellas (in the entrance) wearing your yukatas for a great photo opp!
Toilet room was on the small side for larger people, but was still a nice Japanese toilet (sprayers, etc.)

The rooms were clean and well-equipped.The breakfast and dinner were excellent, and the best part was the outdoor onsen. They have a large onsen that you absolutely shouldn't miss if you stay here.The hotel has parking in front of the building, but there aren't many spaces, so you should inform the hotel in advance that you will be parking a car.

I truly appreciated how accommodating the staff were with special dietary requirements, and the station pick-up service was very convenient. Their warm hospitality made my first day in Japan especially pleasant, even though it was unusually heavy rain that day.

Reviewed Dec 20, 2025I lived in Japan for 22 years. This is now my favorite onsen. The outdoor bath was incredible with beautiful landscaping and comfortably hot water (not lukewarm). The meals were served in a separate restaurant and they were ornate and delicious. The price was a bit on the expensive side but for the elaborate meals we had for dinner and breakfast and the quality of the onsen, we were more than satisfied. The staff all spoke English so it made our time there very comfortable. The whole inn is very authentic Japanese. If you want a truly Japanese cultural experience, this is your place.

I guess it was because the weather outside is too cold?! The lobby and seating areas are very relaxing and beautiful. The ryokan let guests take photos of the indoor and open-air baths before check-out at 10am.

Reviewed Nov 19, 2025Очень атмосферный рёкан, в котором вы будете жить в номере в классическом японском стиле с сёдзи, татами и футонами, сидеть за столом, поджав под себя ноги. Всем проживающим выдают юкаты, тапочки и те самые носочки с отдельно стоящим пальцем. Японский ужин и завтрак подают персонально на вас и вашу компанию, и они никого не оставят равнодушным: накормят так, что едва сможешь встать. Персонал очень вежлив и услужлив, на стойке регистрации все говорят по-английски. Есть аутентичная деревянная купель и обычная, каждая по полсуток попеременно открыта для мужчин и для женщин. Если у вас есть татуировки, то их можно заклеить или замотать, и вас пустят в них.
Некоторые сотрудники не говорят по-английски, но это не критично

Reviewed Oct 13, 2025浴場施設は全体的に老朽化しており、清掃も十分ではありません。 男女共用の浴場であるため、本来は特に衛生管理に注意すべきですが、その点が十分に配慮されていないように感じました。 入った瞬間にアンモニア臭があり、他のホテルの大浴場と比べても清潔さに欠けます。 また、シャワーの水圧が弱い箇所が多く、地下1階のサウナ室には蜘蛛の巣も見られました。 施設全体としてもかなり年月が経っており、多くの設備がすでに耐用年数を超えている印象です。

Reviewed Sep 30, 2025桃山風呂を目的で行ったので露天風呂も含めて満足しました また 事前に食事の好き嫌いを聞いて下さって 徹底して嫌いな食材を抜いて別な食材にして頂いたのがとても嬉しかったです 従業員の方もみんな感じが良かったです
お風呂の案内で 大浴場にはバスタオルがあるので小さいタオルだけ持って行く様に案内されましたがバスタオルは脱衣所では無くエレベーターを降りた先の女湯からはちょっと見づらい棚にありました みんな脱衣所の中にあるのだと勘違いしてワタワタしてらっしゃる方 私も含めて何人もいて ちょっと説明不足だな と感じました エレベーターを降りた先にある と説明するべきだと思いますね
