Great experience, the accommodation looked better than in pictures. We had sun beds in shade. They also have an amazing restaurant. The breakfast is exceptional and with many options. The room is well equipped, quiet and has air conditioning. The sea view is magnificent

Right in the heart of arugam bay, by all the restaurants and shops and on the beach, but somehow not noisy. - really nice relaxed atmosphere with a nice ambience in the evening. - food in the Restaurant is amazing! We had the included breakfast and 2 other meals during our time at the hotel. Everything was great. - staff were lovely.

The guesthouse is located in the center of main frequented areas for tourists.

Unfortunately, this was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had, especially considering the price. The service was extremely disappointing and far below what we expected. The property itself feels very old and poorly maintained, with dirty walls, worn-out furniture, and everything looking generally used and neglected. For this price, we expected a much higher standard of service, cleanliness, and maintenance. Unfortunately, we cannot recommend this place.

I had an amazing stay at Bay Vista and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Arugam Bay. The location is fantastic, the facilities are excellent, and everything was clean, comfortable, and very well maintained. What really made the experience special was the staff. Everyone was incredibly friendly, welcoming, attentive, and always ready to help. Their hospitality made the whole stay even more enjoyable. From the accommodation and facilities to the service and overall atmosphere, everything exceeded my expectations. A perfect place to relax and enjoy Arugam Bay. I would definitely choose Bay Vista again on my next visit! 🌊🌴

Honestly, everything. By far the best hotel in arugam bay. I’ll make a list: - Rooms are spacious and clean - the location couldn’t be better.. directly in front of the beach, you can see the local surf spot from the rooftop or directly from the beach in front of the hotel - easy access to everything you need at main road - the staff is soooo friendly, every request we’ve had they handled so nicely. - the restaurant at the hotel is so amazing at night, the atmosphere and food are great! - They organized laundry service for us - made us even a little good bye gift We loved our stay!

Every meal is beautifully prepared, full of flavour, and served promptly thanks to an efficient, well-run kitchen. Dining at Bay Vista is a highlight in itself. Bay Vista isn't just a place to stay—it's a place you'll want to return to. The warmth of this wonderful family-run hotel, combined with its stunning beachfront location, outstanding food, immaculate rooms, and truly exceptional staff, makes it one of those rare places that leaves a lasting impression. היינו משפחה, שני חדרים. חדר שפונה לים עם נוף מדהים ומרגיע וחדר עם נוף לכביש.החדרים עם מרפסת, נקיים,גדולים ומרווחים מזגן עובד קצת רועש כי המנוע במרפסת. ארוחת בוקר מגוונת ומשביעה, צוות שתמיד מוכן לעזור בחיוך וכיף. מיקום מצוין על החוף ובמרכז הרחוב נגיש ברגל לכול מקום ובעיקר לחוף הגלישה המרכזי. המסעדה במקום עם אוכל טעים ומגוון ויש מרפסת בגג שעושים יוגה. מחיר יקר לאזור אבל יש תמורה מלאה

We had a wonderful stay at Bay Vista during our trip to Arugam Bay. The accommodations were clean, comfortable, and well equipped, and their complimentary breakfast with varying options was delicious. The location was perfect - right on the beach, a short walk from Baby Point for surfing, and on the main street close to plenty of cafés, restaurants, and shops. The staff were wonderful throughout our stay - attentive, and always happy to help with anything we needed. They also recommended we take surfing lessons with Milan, and we're so glad they did. He was an outstanding instructor: professional, patient and calm. As beginners, he made sure we understood the basics and safety before heading into the water and we had a great time learning to surf with him. We would absolutely recommend taking a lesson from him. Overall, we had a great stay and would recommend it to anyone looking for a fun beach vacation.

Super goede locatie, mooi uitzicht op strand en zee, tof dat de strandbedden inclusief waren, uitgebreide menukaart met lekker ontbijt en eten, super vriendelijk personeel

Wifi was heel slecht, soms geen bereik. Onze grootste ergernis was dat de handdoeken pas na 3 dagen vervangen werden, wat niet zo hygienisch is. Voor de prijs dat je betaald krijg je redelijk weinig terug, zeker als je dit vergelijkt met andere faciliteiten in Sri Lanka. Na het kuisen zaten er ook opeens “meer” mieren in de kamer.

Das Personal im Hotel war sehr nett und zuvorkommend. Die Lage ist super. Man kann aus dem Hotel direkt an den Strand. Auch das hauseigene Restaurant war sehr gut.

Perfect location and the staff are lovely

Bay Vista können wir allen wärmstens empfehlen, die eine tolle, einfache Unterkunft in Arugam Bay suchen. Es war echt ein Traum, die Lage ein absoluter Pluspunkt. Wir haben unser Aufenthalt um zwei Nächte (insgesamt 6 Nächte) verlängert, da es uns wirklich sehr gefallen hat. Die Zimmer sind gross und sehr einfach gehalten. Wir haben Surfstunden direkt in der Unterkunft buchen können, das können wir ebenfalls jedem empfehlen! Das Essen im hauseigenen Restaurant ist lecker, da findet jeder etwas. Auch die Rooftop-Lounge ist super! Dort haben wir tolle Pancakes und Crepes gegessen und man kann dort oben auch Yoga machen. Wir haben es sehr genossen und unser Aufenthalt geliebt! Wir werden auf jeden Fall wiederkommen. :)

We loved the view of Arugam bay from our room. The breakfast was very good, with lots of choices, both western and Sri Lankan. The staff were fantastic, working hard to accommodate all the guests. They were good at communicating and were a well organized cheerful bunch. My favorite part of our stay was the restaurant that was open from morning until evening. They served up the best cuisine that we had during our whole four weeks in Sri Lanka. An exceptional experience staying at Bay vista. There's also a family friendly swimming beach nearby. Before our departure Passi made us a couple of real Italian cappuccinos that we enjoyed in the newly opened, beautifully decorated rooftop café. Highly recommend this family run hotel.

Unser Aufenthalt im Bay Vista war toll. Die Lage ist sehr zentral im Ort und der direkte Strandzugang ist toll. Die Zimmer waren tadellos sauber. Wir hatten einen kleinen Balkon, welcher sogar einen kleinen Wäscheständer hatte. Gut um die nassen Badeklamotten zu trocknen. Klimaanlage und Ventilator waren einwandfrei. Auf jeden Flur wurde kostenloses Wasser aus dem Wasserspender angeboten. Die Wellen und die Strömung direkt am Hotel machen das Baden schwierig bis unmöglich. Wenn man aber ein paar Minuten Richtung Süden läuft gibt es eine tolle Badebucht. Das Personal ist stets höflich und aufmerksam gewesen. Über den Zimmerservice können wir nic sagen, da wir nur 2 Nächte in Arugam Bay waren.

Der Wasserdruck in der Dusche könnte etwas stärker sein.

Lage direkt am Meer, rund herum viele Shops und Restaurants. Sehr komfortable saubere Zimmer. Blick auf Meer war schön. Sehr netter Manager und Personal. Er hat uns sogar ein Zimmer Upgrade gegeben und uns den Transfer zum nächsten Ort organisiert.

It was the off season and pretty quiet- unfortunately there was no yoga but we were able to do our own - only a minor thing. The power went out a couple of times- out of their control.

Große Empfehlung! Eine der besten Unterkünfte, die wir in Sri Lanka hatten. Wir waren in der Nebensaison da und hatten richtig schöne ruhige Tage dort. Man hat nochmal eine ganz neue Seite von Sri Lanka kennengelernt. Das Hotel bietet alles an was man braucht. Das Essen ist super lecker. Wir hatten Zimmer mit Meerblick, was unfassbar schön war. Den Sonnenaufgang kann man direkt vom Zimmer aus beobachten. Die Einrichtung ist sehr modern und sauber. Die Lage ist super und man kann die meisten Bereiche fußläufig erreichen. Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen.

In der Nebensaison ist leider kein Yoga Angebot vorhanden, aber man kann sich Matten ausleihen und eigenständig auf dem Dach Sport machen.

L’accueil très très bien. Nous avons eu un problème de douche (pas d’eau froide donc brûlant tout le temps) le personnel a réglé le problème en 2h pendant que nous étions à la plage. Le repas au restaurant était juste délicieux ! Le personnel est très très gentil, souriant.

Das Hotel war außerordentlich gut und geschmackvoll eingerichtet, das Zimmer hatte eine angenehme Größe und hatte sehr bequeme Betten. Das Bad hatte eine Duschabtrennung! Das Personal war außerordentlich freundlich und hilfsbereit, die Speisen waren koestlich und frisch zubereitet! Ein Hotel in dem man es lànger aushalten kann.

El personal fue muy atento todo el rato por si necesitábamos algo. Nos pusieron facilidades para el parking, para quedarnos al día siguiente a disfrutar del hotel. Y la habitación estaba muy limpia, cómoda y como en las imágenes. El desayuno muy bueno.

I had an upper floor luxury unit with private balcony and a superb view out over the beach and ocean. It was wonderful just being able to sit there and relax, watching and listening to the sea. a tonic for the mind and soul.

The tiniest of complaint: more tea and coffee could have been supplied, with fresh (uht) milk - when I checked in there were only two coffee sachets and two sugar sachets.

Wir wurden bei der Anreise bereits sehr freundlich am Fahrzeug empfangen und man trug anschließend unsere Tasche zur Rezeption. An der Rezeption selbst wurden wir mit leckeren, frisch zubereiteten Säften begrüßt und man erklärte uns, dass wir ein Zimmer-Upgrade erhalten hätten. Man habe uns ein größeres Zimmer zugewiesen als ursprünglich gebucht. Nach einer freundlichen Einweisung bestand man erneut darauf unsere Tasche auf das Zimmer zu tragen - für uns war dies etwas besonderes und wir hatten fast schon ein schlechtes Gewissen, dass der freundliche Angestellte sich so sehr mit unserer Tasche abmühte. Im weiteren Verlauf war der Aufenthalt durchweg von positiven Ereignissen geprägt. Am zweiten Tag schmückten die Reinigungskräfte unbemerkt den Hausflur vor unserer Zimmertür, klopften anschließend und präsentierten Dekoration und Luftballons anlässlich des Geburtstages meiner Verlobten - der Rezeptionist hatte bei der Anreise im Pass gesehen, dass sie Geburtstag haben wird. Eine wahnsinnig aufmerksame Aktion! Abends gab es im Hotel-Restaurant passend dazu ein Stück Geburtstagskuchen mit Kerze und einen Musik-Einspieler. Generell waren die Kellner immer sehr freundlich, aufmerksam, flexibel und sorgsam - egal ob beim Frühstück oder beim Abendessen. Man konnte auch Safari-Touren über die Rezeption buchen. Man traf eine Auswahl und am Empfang kümmerte man sich um die Organisation. Im Verlauf wurden einem dann Gesamtpreis und Zeit der Abholung genannt - ein angenehmer Service. Zum Hotel selbst muss man sagen, dass es sehr sauber, gepflegt und relativ modern eingerichtet ist. Der Außenbereich wird geharkt und sogar regelmäßig von den herabfallenden Blättern befreit. Der Manager, der sich ebenfalls recht präsent im Hotel befindet, legt offensichtlich großen Wert auf Ordnung und Sauberkeit. Er kommuniziert mit seinen Angestellten anscheinend sehr direkt, ist dabei aber respektvoll und scherzt an anderer Stelle auch mit ihnen und führt gelassene Gespräche mit allen.

Ich hätte mir für das Doppelbett gewünscht, dass jeder eine eigene Decke bekommt. Das empfinde ich allerdings nicht als besonders schlimm und ist nur meine persönliche Ansicht. Im Nachhinein muss man sagen, dass man sicher auch danach hätte fragen können. Sie hätten einem den Wunsch mit Sicherheit nicht ausgeschlagen.

Alles. Een pareltje in Arugam Bay. Zeer vriendelijk personeel. Locatie geweldig. Wel laag seizoen maar niets was teveel. Eten was elke keer weer heerlijk. Uitzicht op het strand met de visserbootjes. Eigenaren altijd in voor een praatje of wat tips en info. Aanrader!!

You get a feeling of contemporary luxury the minute you walk in the entrance and look straight through to the blue water of the ocean. We loved everything about our stay here. Rooms were very spacious and had a balcony with amazing views out over the water. It was literally a 30 second walk to the beach. Beachside chairs provided! Staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Breakfast included was fantastic. 5 min walk to main point for surfing and right on Main Street for other restaurants, shops etc.

I had a wonderful stay at Bayvista, often called the best hotel in Arugam Bay — and it truly lives up to the name. The rooms are spotless, the staff are super friendly, and the beachfront is absolutely beautiful. The rooftop is gorgeous and I’m sorry I didn’t get a photo of that, there’s Daily yoga which is actually a big advantage, as you don’t need to go far to exercise especially when it’s so hot and Arugam Bay can get very busy - here you can relax without feeling crowded. The owner is also the chef and is well-known for her Italian food. I indulged twice at dinner, but I must say the food at the hotel itself was also fantastic. What stood out most was the team’s warmth and willingness to help with anything. The location is central yet private, with good security, clean facilities, and a genuine sense of hospitality. If you’re looking for a place that combines comfort, friendliness, and a peaceful beachfront atmosphere, Bayvista is the perfect choice.
