Le faltaba un poco de limpieza y habían cucarachas.

El sitio estaba en un lugar más o menos céntrico, en medio de los alquileres de coche, del ferry, de algunos restaurantes muy buenos, entre otros. La casa era bonita. El personal muy amable, el señor nos esperó y nos ayudó en todo lo que necesitamos. Gran atención.

Falta limpieza en general (sobretodo en la cocina) y unas pequeñas reformas en las habitaciones.

The owner just appeared the first day. I had issues with water coming out of the fridge and there was no one around, even messaged them but only replied at night.

The vibes , it s clean and very comfy , staff are super nice and helped me alot, my room was available way before the check in time, they also lent me the snorkeling gear free of charge. I recommend the place and definitely will come back again

Our bathroom was constantly flooded due to a leak.

The room was clean and the kitchen was not dirty as suggested in other reviews. It was good to have free unlimited proper coffee. There was always hot water in the shower. There were many books to swop and a communal sitting area.

The owners are extremely poor responders. We booked on the day when we found we could get on the ferry. I send an email, text, WhatsApp and phoned them to find out about our room as we're not arriving till 8:30pm. They replied to none..When we got there, I phoned 3 times and could hear it ringing. No answer. So I walked around the outside to see which room didn't have lights on and found an empty room and we let ourselves in. Next morning Jack said they go to bed at 7pm! There is a gentleman who lives downstairs who helps them and I think it is he who keeps the place running.

The location was awesome.... And the hosts were very helpful and nice..We arrived early and they let us check-in right away. THANKS

Had all the essentials you need to spend a weekend at the beach. Nothing fancy but had clean sheets and bathroom, private fridge and the host was extremely friendly. Good air conditioning beds were comfy! We were able ro brew coffee in the shared kitchen and make our breakfast which was helpful! Thank you for everything!

The property needs some remodeling. My shower handle was broken, kitchen area wasn't too clean. But for the price it was a good deal.

Location was good. Close to the little town and walkable to Melones, Tamarindo and Flamenco beaches if you are a walker. The owner ladies are friendly and the back yard is a nice peaceful space in the afternooon. Beach towels provided and snorkel gear available for rent. The a/c was effective, (although the remote control went on the fritz the last night and got stuck on 72 which was fine).

As you’ll see in all the reviews, cleanliness isn’t great. Rooms are noisy (you can hear the owners upstairs moving around, coughing etc). The smell of cigarette smoke, and tomcat musk was fairly prevalent too. Not from guests, but the owners are heavy smokers. The bathroom got water on the floor from a leaky faucet pipe when we used the sink. It did dry up afterwards, but annoying. And the handle of the shower came off and took some struggling to get back on to adjust or turn the water off. Also, the window screens (or the defunct A/C unit in the wall), let mosquitoes in. Basically, it’s time for this operation to get a major overhaul. Running this kind of thing takes a lot of work and energy to do right. There comes a point to hand it off to someone else.

Palmetto feels like home away from home! It has a small living room 2 kitchen areas that are shared. A very nice back yard. With swing chairs, and many areas to relax, read or hang out. Paco the parrot was so eager to interact . The room is comfortable and the shower was nice. The owners are friendly and if you need anything they will help right away. The price was also good. We stayed in the family room.

Needed a little better upkeep. This is my 3rd time staying there and the first time I find something not perfect. But the owners were sick so it’s understandable. The backyard needed a sweep from leaves. Which I did myself. Just because that’s what I would do if it was my house LOL. And just general details that could be better. Overall it was good and we will definitely be back.

Only 1 km to go from center. Clean and location

After 1.5 hours waiting to check in (yeah, they did know when I arrived). Some other guest called her. She was at a dinner.. but found the Keys so.not the best welcome

Our resident host couple were very welcoming, gracious, and supportive. Offered helpful local area advice and full access to amenities/resources at their property which provided enhanced value from our rental. Room with en suite bathroom was comfortable, quiet, and clean. Could comfortably have enjoyed a longer stay than our 2+ days. Free parking and a quiet location, from which we both drove and walked to local destinations during our stay.

Can't think of any issues we encountered...

This guesthouse is in a quiet area. A 15 minute walk from town.

After one night we went away to go to a more decent place and the owner gave us back the value of the nights that we had not used. Booking.com helped us to get the money back.

The room was terrible. It was extremely dirty as it had not been cleaned for several time. You can please check the pictures I uploaded. The floor was full of dust, hair, sand, and there was mold on the roof. In the toilet we found a cockroach. The space was cramped and there was not enough room for two people to move. The tap of the bathroom sink was almost a single block of limescale as if it had not been cleaned for years. Also, there was not hot water. The toilet was given to us in the same state as the one of a restaurant used be tens of people and not cleaned for days. White towels were dirty and had brown staines. There was a communal kitchen that was filthy dirty, and I would not dare touching it. Last but not least the owner of the facility was smelling of alcohol when he gave us the room at 11am. Pictures uploaded do not reflect the real state of the rooms. I have updated a few pictures so that you can get an idea. This all comes at the price of €106/night.

Location was walkable, close to the airport and some car/golf cart rental places. Common kitchen for coffee and water bottles available.

They were a little unorganized due to a family emergency, so we understood but there was some mixup at check-in regarding availability. However they corrected the situation in about an hour and we got the original room. The room was not dirty per se, but it could've been a little cleaner. We passed it off as them just having a bad week due to their emergency, based on the other reviews. We did not think the room cost matched the value we got.

It is very close to the Culebra's Ferry. Very organized, quiet, and clean. The owners are very kind and responsible. The place is very comfortable and quiet. You can enjoy its environment that connects you with nature.

I loved it! ❤️ I already reserved it, to go again in summer! ☀️

There was a community dining area and small kitchen. Food can become expensive with a family of 5, it was nice to be able to save $ by having left overs or making sandwiches.

Nothing, fair price for value

I feel quite bad writing this review, but I also need to be honest for future travelers. I'm going to start with the positives: The hosts were superb and could not make me feel any more welcome. They enthusiastically went over a map telling me all the best places to go and eat. They were really helpful with any questions I had about the island, and even let me keep the key to my room on the day of check out till my flight at 5pm so I could use the bathroom and store my things. The bed was comfy and the shower powerful with hot water. Air conditioner was noisy, but did the job just fine. The guesthouse is in a good location far enough from the main area to be quiet. A few minutes walk down the road is Carlos Jeep Rental and a supermarket with everything you would need at a decent price. I suppose it depends what you're looking for. If you want a true feeling of island life and are happy roughing it then this is perfect. If you're a bit of a stickler for cleanliness then I would avoid. I feel like I must finish with the fact that the hosts are what make this place and have never been somewhere more welcoming. Saying that though they would need to do a full deep clean of the place and get it back to what the photos look like for me to stay again.

However, now the negatives. The guesthouse does not look like what it does in the photos which were taken several years ago by the looks of it. I appreciate that this is a small island with a simple lifestyle, but the property was a little too 'island life' for me. The room was very small with nowhere to store anything. This was fine as I was traveling solo, but two people would really struggle. There are marks all over the ceiling from damp, calcium build up all over the bathroom taps, and old painted and dirty furniture. The sheets however were clean although you could tell they were old. The shared areas were filthy. The cooker had dirt all over it and the sides and all utensils were sticky. I should point out that I am a bit OCD and have a thing for cleanliness, but I would rather spend a fortune eating out every night than cook there. It needed a total deep clean. Also, there are no smoking signs but I think the owners smoke so there's a smell that lingers. The garden also does not look like the photos and needs clearing. I have a feeling that the positive reviews are from regulars that have become the owners friends as all other guests knew them personally. One guest had known them for 30 years. I appreciate that this is a 'home style' guesthouse/hostel, but out of all the 5 places I stayed whilst in Puerto Rico, this was one of the most expensive and the worst conditions.

Well equipped Kitchen for guests to use. Backyard für sitting/chilling. Good WiFi, Big bathroom. Complementary coffee, soap, Shampoo. Top Snorkeling gear to Rent for 15 Dollars per day. 15-20 min walk to the ferry and Restaurants is OK. Upon Check-In the lady showed us all the important things on a map of the Island, she really took her time.

When we rang the Bell the owner Kind of rudely asked what we were doing here, he then went to get his Partner to Deal with us. we found a Halfeaten Pizza in the fridge of our room :-( 15 dollars per Bike for a Day is too much in my Opinion, because the Bikes are in a horrible condition. The room was tiny. the noise of the very loud fridge and the ACs kept waking us up during the Night.

How attentive Jack is, the cleanliness and good location.

A very pleasent stay with all the comforts of home. Relativly close to main places of interess.

If paper should not be disposed in the toilet then maybe a sign to help the guests to act accordingly.

Nice common space and backyard, not too far from the center

During our stay, the other guests were loud and disrespectful - up til 12:30 or 2 am, then up again at 7 am. You can hear everything from the rooms, so we were unable to sleep. The rooms are also tiny, so there's no place to hang out if the common spaces are dominated by other guests. The host responded to our complaints which was good, but it didn't change the behavior of the other guests. There is no quiet policy, so we didn't feel like we could ask guests who clearly already didn't care about our comfort to be quiet. We left a day early.

The owners were friendly and accommodating.

Can't throw toilet paper into toilet. The room and bathroom are tiny. Common kitchens are dusty.

The terrace is nice and you can see some interesting wild life there (lizards, chickens, flying cockroaches, lizards eating flying cockroaches etc.). Kitchens are fine too. Owners are pleasant. Parrot is beautiful. Location is close to a grocery store, espresso bar and taxis to flamenco.

The room we booked was supposed to be around 260sq ft according to booking com. Actual room size was no more than 80sq ft. There was no space to put bags, no space to put clothing. The room could be fine for a one night stay for one person but not for several nights for two. In order to pack and unpack one of us had to wait outside. Hummock outside could use some cleaning as well as some benches.

Very lax and the pleasant atmosphere.

The house has two kitchens, that are both well equipped. The basics are there to share (salt, oil, coffee..). There was a fridge in the room, which is very convenient. Water in the shower was hot. Nice little garden with lots of shade. Supermarket is only 5 mins away (walking). They do rent bikes, which is nice if you do not want to rent a car

it was close to everything.

n comparison to all the stays we’ve been to (including hostels, hotels, guesthouses) this was by far the dirtiest of all of them within our 2 week stay in Puerto Rico. surfaces were dusty and sticky. also it was the first time seeing a cockroach in Puerto Rico and this one even in the kitchen (on the coffee machine and floor). didn’t really feel comfortable staying there would not come back. on top the host wasn’t really welcoming to us also compared to all other places we’ve been to in Puerto Rico. if you’re just searching for an overnight stay and don’t really care about a tidy place then this might be ok for you :)

Was near of everything, ferry, restaurants, beach, golf car rental, market. The host was so exceptional.

Rooms are small but have everything you need to stay. Private bathroom, towels, soap, shampoo and great space to accommodate clothes.

The location was the best.

The Family room was used and the fitthed bed was dirty and not smell clean. I have puctires and videos. Many sand on the bed that was obvious that was used. Dead Roaches under the bed with human hairs that is evident that not swept. Many cockroaches all sizes. Flying on all parts and walking on my bed, wall, floor, refrigerator. Many dust accumulated on the fans giving nasal allergy and lost a night because preferred return to our home.
