Reviewed Sep 6, 2026Die Lage der Unterkunft am Fuße des Atlasgebirges ist wunderbar und eignet sich ideal für Wanderungen oder andere Ausflüge.
Das angebotene Essen (insbesondere das Abendessen) ist sehr lecker und regional typisch und für einen geringen Preis zubuchbar.
Das Zimmer ist im marokkanischen Stil mit vielen Matratzen, Kissen und Decken ausgestattet und macht so einen einladenden und sehr gemütlichen Eindruck.
Hamid und seine Familie sind wahnsinnig freundliche, angenehme und zuvorkommende Gastgeber. Hamid gibt gerne viele Tipps für mögliche Aktivitäten oder Wanderrouten und führt diese gehen Gebühr auch selbst durch und organisiert sie vollständig.
Insgesamt hatten wir als Gruppe eine wunderbare Zeit in der Unterkunft

Reviewed Jun 15, 2026I was pleasantly shocked at how beautiful the rooms were ànd how OUTSTANDING the food was. I would definitely book again.
It was great and an absolute bargain for the price..
Highly recommend for anyone visiting the Atlas Mountains - whilst Hamid’s family home is about a 15 minute drive from Imlil, for us it was the perfect place to stay whilst hiking Toubkal and the surrounding areas (you need a car!).
Hamid and his family were incredibly welcoming and helpful - always on call to support.
The accommodation is quite literally their home, and so it is very authentically Moroccan. Huge comfortable beds, with plenty of blankets for the colder months. We were welcome to use their family kitchen, which was much appreciated.
If I go back, I suspect I’ll return to Hamid’s home for our hiking base!
Perhaps a few things will get lost in translation, but it didn’t affect our stay.

Reviewed May 9, 2026Avec Hamid, nous avons exploré son pays. Il est passionné et nous a montré de très beaux paysages. Tout ses repas étaient très bons surtout le Couscous. Hamid a été un hôte accueillant et bienveillant avec nous. Il a organisé tout notre séjour en fonction de nos envies.
On le recommande vivement pour voyager dans sa région.

Reviewed Apr 15, 2026Petit coin hyper tranquille à la limite de la forêt et des montagnes. Hospitalité+++ . Bon point de départ pour des excursions en montagnes. Pas de fla-fla mais tout le nécessaire y est.
Vérifiez la météo, s'il fait froid dehors, c'est pareil en dedans. Ne soyez pas gêné de demander des couvertures, il y en a des tonnes😉

Reviewed Apr 13, 2026Es ist ein sehr schönes Haus im traditionellen Stil.Es hat drei große Gastzimmer, wo jeweils mehrere Leute übernachten können. Wer es urig mag, der ist hier richtig. Der Gastgeber hat die Zimmer liebevoll im traditionell marokkanischen Stil eingerichtet. Es gibt große Matratzen zum Schlafen und viele dicke Decken stehen zur Verfügung. Anfang April war es nachts noch recht kalt, aber wir haben nicht gefroren. Es gibt ein Gemeinschaftsbad mit Dusche und Toilette und eine einzelne Toilette. Weiterhin gibt es einen Gemeinschaftsraum, wo Frühstück und Abendessen, wenn gewünscht, serviert wird. Es gibt traditionelle marokkanische Speisen, die der Gastgeber frisch zubereitet. Das Essen war wirklich sehr lecker. Hamid ist ein freundlicher und zuvorkommender Gastgeber. Auf Wunsch organisiert er Wanderungen und Ausflüge und gibt auch Tipps für Unternehmungen alleine. Er ist zurückhaltend und nicht aufdringlich , dass macht alles sehr angenehm. Wir haben eine tolle Wanderung mit ihm gemacht. Die Umgebung ist einfach herrlich. Und wir haben auch einen Ausflug mit ihm in die Agafay Wüste unternommen. Das alles gegen Bezahlung. Das Gästehaus liegt zentral zwischen Asni und Imlil, was sehr von Vorteil ist. Es gibt in dem Dorf kaum Touristen, wer es ursprünglich mag, wird es lieben. Auch nachts ist die Straße kaum befahren und es ist sehr ruhig. Wer den Hohen Atlas erkunden möchte, hat hier eine gute Basis. Vielen Dank Hamid für die ychöne Zeit, wir kommen gerne wieder. Lotte, Anne und Carsten

La habitación es muy cómoda, hay agua caliente y el desayuno es delicioso. La ubicación es única, cerca de Imlil, en la carretera, sin mucha gente o turistas alrededor. Es necesario tener carro para moverse.
Hamid, el anfitrión, es muy amable y atento. Puede organizar excursiones.
La presión de Hamid en valorar positivamente el alojamiento y las excursiones. Debería ser por voluntad propia.

Reviewed Mar 30, 2026J'ai passé deux jours à Dar Imoughlad, nous avons été très bien accueillies par Hamid qui a été attentif à nos besoins et notre confort. Les chambres sont spacieuses, bien décorées et confortables. Les petits déjeuners sont généreux et le pain fait maison est très bon. Je conseille de prendre les repas, nous avons testé le tajine avec viande et le végétarien et ils étaient tous les deux délicieux (les meilleurs que j'ai mangés jusqu'ici).
L'hébergement est à 5km de Imlil, c'est très facile de s'y rendre par bus, taxi, le stop marche aussi très bien.

Reviewed Mar 14, 2026Je recommande vivement cet hébergement. L’ accueil est formidable, chaleureux, la maison d’ hôtes est très belle et les chambres très confortables et propres. Hamid est un hôte dévoué et fort sympathique. Les repas sont fabuleux !! Les meilleurs tajines qu’ on puisse imaginer. Le lieu est idéal pour découvrir le Haut Atlas. Vraiment, n’ hésitez pas, venez loger ici, au calme, au pied de la montagne, avec une vue magnifique depuis la terrasse qui surplombe cette superbe maison d’ hôtes.

Lieliska atrašanās vieta, ja gribat palikt kalnis un pa istabas logu redzēt kalnus. Mājas saimnieks Hamids ļoti atvērts, laipns, pretimnākošs. Iesaku izmantot arī saimnieka piedāvātos gida pakalpojumus - izvadās pa kalniem, tuksnesi un piestās pie skaisto skatu ainavām. Mēs braucām dienas izbraucienā ar mašīnu. Pabijām arī vietējā tirgū.

Reviewed Feb 11, 2026Great value for money. Plenty of blankets available in the room. Parking is available. Breakfast was alright. Location is good for exploring Asni, Imlil (Atlas Mountains) and Marrakech (with a car).
Rooms get very cold at night (it was 0 degrees outside and the buildings are designed to dissipate heat - I'm sure it would've been GREAT in warmer weather). An electric heater was provided but only one can be used in the whole building at any one time. The shower was either very cold or very hot (partly due to cold weather). Miscommunication is inevitable if you don't understand French or Amazigh/Darija.

Pas de chauffage dans le batiment , je déconseille fortement en pèriode hivernal, on a pu avoir un chauffage electrique dans la chambre forte heureusement . Douche avec tout petit filet d'eau chaude ,impossible de se laver les cheveux. Repas le soir tres basique et à négocier car prix anoncé exagéré.

Reviewed Jan 17, 2026There were minor issues finding it—Google Maps shows the wrong location. Look for the one on the road called Imi-oughlade. A very tidy and renovated gite. Everything works, the doors close tightly, and there are even heaters. I recommend it.

Reviewed Jan 12, 2026Piękne miejsce z bardzo gościnnym właścicielem. Wokół obiektu można było podziwiać widok na góry. Bardzo przytulnie i niesamowicie przystępnie cenowo, do tego w cenie pyszne śniadanko i dużo herbaty.
Nie wskazywałabym żadnych negatywów poza tym, że przyjechaliśmy w styczniu, a więc było bardzo zimno. Właściciel zapewnia nieskończoną ilość ciepłych koców, ale brak ogrzewania sprawia, że chętnie powróciłabym do obiektu ale najlepiej w okresie wiosna/zima. :)

Reviewed Jan 7, 2026Tout était magnifique du début à la fin. Hamid, l’hôte, est une personne exceptionnelle : accueillant, attentionné et toujours à l’écoute. Il a largement dépassé son rôle d’hôte en étant également notre guide, ce qui a rendu l’expérience encore plus authentique et enrichissante.
La pension complète était irréprochable : petit déjeuner, déjeuner et dîner délicieux, faits maison, généreux et variés. Chaque repas était un vrai moment de plaisir.
Le tout pour un prix très juste, voire incroyable au vu de la qualité de l’accueil, des prestations et de l’expérience globale.
Je recommande Dar L’Mouglad les yeux fermés. Un grand merci à Hamid pour ce séjour inoubliable !

Reviewed Dec 26, 2025We had lots of warm and beautiful blankets, there were enough beds and they were clean. We had the traditional Berber breakfast served every morning which was lovely, Hamid was caring and constantly checked we were ok and had enough to eat. We enjoyed the mountain hike which Hamid led. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner with other people which was lovely as we got to make friends. Hamid’s family was lovely and we had access to their kitchen which we used to try to warm up food for our child.
It was very cold and almost unbearable to sleep in the rooms at night despite the blankets. Our 3 year old became very poorly (coughing all night with cold and runny nose) and could barely eat. We had paid for 8 days but had to leave after 3 nights to a place in the coty centre which was warmer and had AC. We also moved so we could also take our child to consult in a pharmacy. After we moved, all of use became ill for the rest of our stay in Morocco. I think we chose the wrong time to go. It was freezing in the rooms at night at night and the layers of clothing and blankets were insufficient.

L’endroit est magnifique, en plein cœur des montagnes, calme et paisible, idéal pour se détendre et profiter de la nature. Les chambres sont propres, confortables et décorées avec simplicité et goût. Le petit-déjeuner et les repas sont excellents, faits maison avec des produits locaux et beaucoup d’attention.
Hamid est un hôte exceptionnel : accueillant, toujours disponible, d’une grande gentillesse et très professionnel. Il fait tout pour que chaque invité se sente chez lui. Merci aussi à Fatima pour sa cuisine délicieuse et son sourire.
Nous avons vraiment apprécié la chaleur humaine, l’authenticité du lieu et la qualité du service. Une adresse que nous recommandons vivement à tous ceux qui cherchent à vivre une belle expérience humaine et authentique dans l’Atlas.

Reviewed Nov 5, 2025Ha sido una mu buena experiencia. Hamid muy amable y atentento en todo momento. Las habitaciones muy grandes y limpias. El baño y la ducha increíble (muy buena pressión y muy caliente). Hamid tambien te organiza actividades por el valle (trecking, excursiones, ski, parapente, expediciones al desierto, quad…). También organiza salidas a las ciudades imperiales (Fes, Meknes, Er-Rachidia…) Muy recomendable!
We really appreciated the warm welcome from Hamid in a beautiful, peaceful valley. The rooms are clean and comfortable with access to a big sitting room and a rooftop terrace with great views.
Lovely home cooking is provided, which is ideal as there are no restaurants nearby.
You can catch the local bus and grand taxi to Imlil, Asni and Ouirgane from just outside the house, or if you have a bigger budget, pay for excursions to the mountains or Berber villages.

Woda - wrzątek. W pokojach cieplutko i milutko. Wifi zapierdziela. Polecam podpytać właścicela ugotowanie obiadu lub guide'a na Toubkal lub wycieczki po okolicy.

Reviewed Oct 20, 2025Wir möchten die Unterkunft unbedingt weiterempfehlen, da wir wirklich der Meinung sind, nur durch die Erfahrung, die wir mit Hamid in den Dörfern gemacht haben, Marokko wirklich kennengelernt und zu verstehen gelernt haben. Hamid ist ein sehr ehrlicher und freundlicher Gastgeber, seine Frau ist eine hervorragende Köchin und das Dar Imoughlad eignet sich super, wenn man die Kultur und das Leben im Atlasgebirge auf eine authentische Weise kennenlernen will. Auf jeden Fall sollte man sich dann auch keine Wanderung mit Hamid entgehen lassen, er hat so viel zu erzählen…Shukran🙏🏼

Reviewed Oct 12, 2025Solo me surgen palabras de agradecimiento y sentimientos de gratitud hacia Hamid, ha sido un anfitrión inigualable, remarcable, amable, profesional, humilde y de gran corazón.
Para empezar, me recibió tarde en la noche mucho más tarde de la hora prevista con un Tajine abundante, caliente y recién preparado después de un día largo, mejor bienvenida no pude tener.
El alojamiento está a 1h en coche de Marrakech, Hamid lo gestiono todo, tanto ida como vuelta, es perfecto e ideal para evadirse, desconectar y descansar, yo viajaba solo, pero es ideal para parejas, grupos de amigos e incluso familias, el lugar es grande y espacioso, las habitaciones también, así que tuve una habitación bastante grande y cómoda para mi solo, se duerme de maravilla, ya que solo se escucha la voz de la montaña y las camas son cómodas, he viajado en octubre y a pesar de las noches y mañanas frías, no he pasado frío.
La comida, como ya mencioné, increíble, abundante y de muy buen sabor, los desayunos son variados, tradicionales y generosos, perfectos para empezar el día, las cenas, igual, abundantes y de gran sabor, comida tradicional, sana y equilibrada, preparada con detalle y corazón; el té no puede faltar y le queda muy bueno.
Todo está estupendo, no cambiaría nada!

Le wc très salle, j'ai dû me mettre à le nettoyer comme j'ai pu. Il est partagé avec tout le monde et il n'es pas bien nettoyé quotidiennement ou au moins ils mettent juste de l eau par dessus. Toujours sale. La duche bien mais l eau très chaude ou très froide.
Y a pas de frigo, il y a un mais ne marche pas, ils l utilisent pour mettre plein de truc à eux, dans une "cuisine" ( espace cuisine mais pas de cuisinière, bouilloire, verres, plats ou quoi que ce soit ) très sale, avec plein d affaires.
On n'est pas conseillé par la famille en rien, ils vous racontent rien du mode de vie, de l endroit, de ce qu on peut faire aux alentours, ils vous vendent leurs excursions c'est tout. Même pas nous indiquer du bus ou moyens de transport, juste ils se proposent pour appeler un taxi, privé, dont on paye plus cher car ils prennent sa part aussi! Heureusement qu on a trouvé des locaux qui nous ont tout indiqués, on a fait de repas ensemble, on a paye aussi mais plus juste, ils nous on fait essayé à toute la famille les vêtements traditionnels, ils nous ont offert du thé, on est parti au hammam ensemble, ils nous ont mis en contact avec les locaux, accompagné aux sukes, expliqué, protégé de l harcèlement aux touristes et escroquerie par tout, par TOUT! Même pour une simple bouteille d eau il faut faire attention et se battre pour le prix. C'est fatigant !
Chez la famille à Imoughlad, pas d accueil humain juste l accueil marketing.
Pas de thé sauf le matin inclus dans le petit déjeuner

We were immersed in culture and warmth.
We were shown parts of the mountains that are completely untouched by tourism, you will never experience this anywhere else.

Reviewed Sep 13, 2025Hamid welcomed us with open arms into his home. The bedroom was really cozy and comfortable, the food delicious and Hamid and his family very kind. He did a hike/walk with us to a Berber village and natural park with a great panoramic view. I can only recommend to stay there if you want an authentic experience into Moroccan culture!

Reviewed Aug 28, 2025Jedná se o autentický dům a ubytování rodinného typu u Berberské rodiny v horách Atlas. Hamíd, jeho žena Mina a příbuzná Fatima jsou srdeční a milí lidé, snaží se o maximální dosažitelné pohodlí svých hostů. Pokoje v přízemí jsou vybaveny pohodlnými matracemi, je k dispozici dostatek zásuvek u postelí a kvalitní wifi. Pokoje jsou přizpůsobeny pro ubytování i větších skupin milovníků hor, jsou zařízeny jednoduše a čistě, měkkoučkými koberci, potahy, přikrývkami a stolky, k dispozici jsou pantofle na přezutí a čisté ručníky. Menší společná koupelna je v přízemí, s teplou sprchou, sprchovým gelem a šamponem a splachovacím WC. Před koupelnou je umyvadlo s teplou vodou, zrcadlem a mýdlem. Další koupelna se sprchou a vedle ní oddělené splachovací WC je v chodbě v patře domu. Dalším společným prostorem je střešní terasa, s hezkým výhledem při ranní rozcvičce. Ve větší obývací místnosti se podává jídlo. Snídaně je vydatnější v porovnání s jinými ubytováními. Skládá se z typických součástí: placky, výborné domácí koblížky, chléb, olivy, čerstvý sýr, jogurt, džemy, amlou, med, vařená vejce, marocký čaj, káva s mlékem, pomeranče. Je možno objednat večeři - tajine nebo couscous za 10EUR (100 MAD) na osobu. Jde o vydatné chutné jídlo, zdravotně bezpečnější než stravování v místních restauracích. S Hamídem a jeho rodinou jsme se cítili příjemně, skoro jako v rodině. Hamíd organizuje zajímavé výlety a vyjížďky do hor a dle dohody sestaví denní program, zařídí dopravu a celou řadu aktivit, hlavně výlety a vycházky s občerstvením nebo dopravu z Marrákeše až do jeho domu. Celá oblast je cenná pro návštěvu, hory nádherné. V horách jsou kvalitní asfaltové cesty pro auto, s krásnými výhledy. Na rozloučenou jsem dostala milý dárek, který mi toto místo a Hamída připomíná.
Nic negativního. Jednalo se o adekvátní ubytování rodinného typu v horách.

Hamid der Herbergsvater bietet gegen einen vernünftigen Preis Wanderungen in der Gegend an, er stellt sich auf euren Fitness Level ein. Auch was das Essen angeht (bin vegi) war es kein Problem.
Er kennt alles und jeden in der Gegend (wirklich) und organisiert euch was ihr wollt zu einem guten Preis (Maultier, Hamam,...) besser als die Touristen Touren!
Ja, die Einrichtung ist spartanisch, aber landestypisch und hat selbst den Kids nichts ausgemacht. Hamid ist gerade dabei für mehr Komfort zu sorgen.
Für den Preis kann man nicht meckern.

Reviewed Jul 21, 2025Die Unterkunft liegt zwischen Asni und Imlil in dem Dorf Imoughlad. Ich habe die Lage als besonders schön wahrgenommen. Das Dorf und die Menschen sind sehr freundlich. Als Abendspaziergang kann man sehr gut den Berg hinter dem Dorf etwas hoch laufen und man hat eine top Aussicht.
Für längere Wanderungen ist die Unterkunft auch Perfekt geeignet, da man diese als Startpunkt nutzen kann.
Wir sind von dort in den Nationalpark gelaufen und in einem Berberdorf ausgekommen. Von dort sind wir nach Asni gelaufen und haben dort Mittagessen gegessen. Zurück sind wir mit dem lokale Bus, was auch eine interessante Erfahrung war. Hamid als Guide ist sehr empfehlenswert. Als nicht erfahrene Wanderer hätten wir uns sicher schwer getan die richtigen Wege zu finden . Außerdem kennen ihn viele Leute und es war interessant ihn zu beobachten wie er durchs Dorf und Asni läuft. Durch ihn und die passende Lage hatte ich das Gefühl einen sehr authentischen Einblick in das Leben und die Landschaft der Gegend zu gewinnen.
Das Essen und das Zimmer war auch top. Auf meinen Wunsch hin wurde etwas vegetarisches gekocht und beim Frühstück gab es viel Auswahl.
Hamid schreibt nicht gut in Englisch, aber sprechen kann er sehr gut. Ich habe ziemlich spezifische Fragen über den Ort gestellt und er hat sie alle verstanden und beantworten können. Er spricht auch etwas deutsch.

Reviewed Jul 16, 2025The location is very scenic. There are some good mountain day hikes which you can do straight from the house. The people of the local village are very friendly and will approach you to shake your hand and talk to you. Hamid's family are lovely and accommodating hosts. Mint tea and unlimited bottled drinking water is included in the cost of the stay. Breakfast is included and is good, I particularly liked the fresh fried flat breads The evening tajine meals are very tasty and reasonably priced (100 mad per person). There is a minibus to Asni or Imlil that costs only 5 mad (maybe more on market day) and is an interesting way to meet local people. Pre arranged taxi transfer from the airport (400 mad). There are two small shops in the village, useful for picking up small snacks and soft drinks.
We visited during a heatwave in Europe and it was very hot.
Written comms and arranging transfer before arrival can be a challenge, audio call was easier.
The time of the mini bus can be hit and miss, we had to wait over an hour once, and it can be busy (standing room only) at peak times.
There is nothing for tourists in the village (no cafes, bars, restaurants etc.). It's completely undeveloped, apparently many homes don't even have electricity and running water. But the locals are very hospitable in their own way, and If you do speak to them you'll almost certainly be offered tea!

Reviewed Jun 30, 2025The property is located at the door of the Atlas Mountains which makes it cooler and relaxing especially in summer.
The rooms are large, the beds comfortable, the food delicious. Hamid and his family were always available making sure all our needs were met. Hamid is a great guide, his excursions are amazing. Would definitely recommend.

Unfortunately we did not have the time to go on a hike with Hakim but he is a very experienced guide and offers a lot of tours and activites. :) He is very time flexible which was really beneficial for us.
The shower and the toilet are on on the same floor and it´s a bit small

Hammed was an absolute gentleman — his hospitality was truly exceptional. He made us feel completely at home, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The property is located in a peaceful valley, perfect for relaxing and unwinding. It’s also very budget-friendly and comfortable.
If you’re visiting Marrakech and have a rental car, I highly recommend staying here. You won’t regret it!

Reviewed Feb 14, 2025Hamid and his wife were extremely kind! Hamid organized a transfer from and to marakkech for us for a very cheap.price in comparisons to taxi. The breakfast was amazing, and the add-on dinner was incredible too! Dar Imoughlad is located between asni and imlil and one can hike there in beautiful scenery. We were there without a car, though we do think that a car is a big advantage to explore the atlas mountains. When we met other locals who asked where we were staying, everyone knew Hamid, so it seemed like a tight knit, warm community.
The communication was sometimes a bit difficult due to language barriers, especially before our arrival when planning the transfer. But Hamid always did his best to help!
Also, the the buulding got very cold at night but we were provided with more than enough very warm blankets which solved the issue

Reviewed Feb 6, 2025Loved the homely and local experience. Hamid organised transport for us to access the hike. Showed us to local spots and were taken at the best time as there were no other tourists there being so close to the mountains.
Hamid and his family were so accomodating and we had so much yummy food provided for dinner and breakfast more than what was offered in the riads in the city. Could not be more blessed to be apart of this humble experience.
Being in the mountains in january shoukd expect it to be more chilly than the city but there was plenty of blankets and lovely hot showers to cater to this. Just to be mindful in the winter months but no other concerns.

Reviewed Jan 3, 2025Dar Imoughlad is nestled in a stunning, picturesque valley—truly a place of beauty that needs to be experienced to be fully appreciated. Waking up to the sunrise over the mountains is absolutely breathtaking, and ending the day with mint tea on the rooftop while watching the sunset makes for a perfect experience.
The rooms are spacious, impeccably clean, and extremely comfortable. Providing a peaceful retreat after exploring and walking with Hammid, who is an also specialist excursion walking guide on the surroundings and mountains. The food was exceptional, with delicious breakfasts, lunches and dinners on offer at our request. The tagine, in particular, was the best we’ve had!
Hammid was an outstanding host—warm, welcoming, and attentive to every detail. He made our stay unforgettable, and we couldn’t have asked for better hospitality.
We are already looking forward to our next visit and can’t recommend this gem enough!
