We wholeheartedly recommend Susana’s accommodation. She is an incredibly warm and welcoming host, and the place is spotless and thoughtfully equipped. Waking up to a breathtaking sunrise each morning is truly special. Susana is also a talented cook, and you can enjoy a cozy dinner in the guesthouse while admiring the beautiful nighttime views over Calafate.

Susan provided such warm hospitality. She went out of her way to make us feel welcome and was very kind with our young children. The room was large, clean and warm and breakfast was delicious and generous.

We really enjoyed our stay at Hostería La Soberana. Susana, the owner and host, is lovely and hospitable — she made us feel right at home. The hotel feels brand new: rooms are warm and comfortable, beds are cozy, showers have great pressure, and breakfast was excellent. We traveled with two small kids and they loved it too. The location is quiet with great views, and with a car you're under 10 minutes from coffee shops and restaurants. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Meticulously clean, spacious and comfortable, great linens and a Susana is a wonderful host who makes you feel at home, is very gracious and attentive to your every need. The breakfast was absolutely fresh, plentiful and a great value to the stay.

Our stay at this hotel was by far the most beautiful of our entire trip through Argentina. The location is perfect for anyone looking to enjoy peace and tranquility. From the window, you have a stunning view of Lago Argentino. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable. We also really appreciated being able to have dinner at the hotel, which was perfect for us. Above all, we would like to highlight the exceptional hospitality of our wonderful host, Susana (we hope we spelled the name correctly 😊). She provided us with many detailed recommendations and great tips for excursions, and we truly enjoyed our conversations with her. This hotel will always remain in our best memories, and we would highly recommend staying here to anyone.

Susanna is a wonderful host. Breakfast is substantial with fresh fruit, juice yogurt, toast, ham, cheese, eggs and croissants. Spacious, clean room with a fantastic view!

Our stay was too short

Susana is such a great host!! Despite speaking little English, she takes care of you, prepares a great breakfast starting early (7am) and also prepares dinner if you wish. The rooms itself were spacious but basic and had good view over the lake. This was perfect for us to be honest - we were looking for a convenient place to stay but were not planning to spend a lot of time in the hotel itself and then this hotel has all you need :)

Rooms were a bit basic and location was far from the city center with no uber available (but Susana knew an alternative taxi service), good to be aware!

Our host, Susan, was kind and helpful with terrific recommendations for hikes, dining, and activities to enjoy EL Calafate. She went out of her way to take care of us and make us comfortable during our stay. The room was clean, spacious, with lovely views of Lago Argentina. Breakfast was delicious.

This is a beautiful and clean property with parking. Our room had an expansive view of the lake. Staff was friendly, WiFi was good, and hot water in the shower was decent. It is located a bit out of town, but in a quiet and peaceful area.

Breakfast is served at 7:00am, which is late for people heading early to Perito Moreno Glacier. Fortunately, they were able to prepare an early takeaway breakfast for us. The property seems to be new. It's nice, but the walls are rather thin and we were able to hear people walking down the hallway.

Beautiful view of the lake, very cozy breakfast area and quiet surroundings. The host, Susana, is absolutely wonderful. Extremely warm and welcoming and she gave us great tips. The breakfast was excellent. Susana really made our stay extra special.

The accommodation is very beautiful, with modern and spacious rooms and a great view. The location is very charming, outside the bustle of the city and surrounded by nature, but easy to reach by car or taxi. Susana is a very warm, attentive, and exceptionally good host. She prepared delicious breakfast and dinner for us and helped us organize excursions. We felt very welcome and can highly recommend the accommodation. It was the best accommodation of our trip so far. Gracias Susana!

The hostess was very friendly and caring. She was always ready to help us. The hosteria is located outside the city with a beautiful view of the bay. The rooms are very clean, spacious, and cozily furnished. The highlight was the breakfast.

We truly enjoyed our stay. The hostess was exceptionally friendly and welcoming, which made us feel at home right away. The hotel has a fantastic location with a breathtaking view over the bay. The breakfast was also outstanding — by far one of the best we experienced during our time in Patagonia. We would happily stay here again and highly recommend it.

We had a great time at Hostería La Soberana. The view of Lago Argentino is beautiful and although it takes 10 minutes to drive into the town centre we enjoyed the peace and quiet The breakfast was delicious and Susana, who runs the hotel, is really lovely!

The host greeted us warmly. The room had a spectacular view of the lake and village. The setting was peaceful and quiet. And the included breakfast was exceptional (fresh coffee, scrambled eggs, assortment of meats/cheeses, a fresh fruit bowl, croissants). The host gave us maps, provided advice on where to dine, comfortable bed, spacious room, very nice bathroom (strong shower).

The location is not in the center of town, which is not a problem if you have a car. For people who drive, it's ideal.

Susana is a really kind and helpful host. Her cookings are also very delicious! Although the property is little bit far away from the downtown, it has an amazing landscape of Laguna Argentina.

La habitación estaba impecable y muy cómoda. Todo el hotel está en perfecto estado y muy bien equipado. Pero la mejor parte de la experiencia fue el servicio excepcional y la calidez humana de Susana. Nos sentimos como en casa de una amiga y nos hubiera gustado quedarnos más tiempo. Por cierto, el desayuno estuvo espectacular. 100% recomendado!

Our host Susana was amazing! She made us hot tea at night before bed and the breakfast in the morning was wonderful. Fresh, fruit salad, eggs, ham, toast, croissants, yogurt, coffee tea, juice. The beds were also very comfortable.

The location, the view and the room were very nice. And Susana tops it off as probably one of the most friendly hostess you can imagine. She makes a lovely breakfast too!!

El trato de Susana te hace sentir como en casa. El desayuno estupendo, las habitaciones muy confortables sin grandes lujos pero limpias, amplias, calentitas y agradables. La ubicación en zona tranquila (necesitas coche) con unas vistas fantásticas a pocos minutos del centro de El Calafate y ya en la salida hacia los glaciares.

No tener más tiempo para charlar con Susana y disfrutar de la estancia.

Aunque está a las afueras para nosotros la ubicación perfecta porque buscábamos tranquilidad y descanso y, a su vez, está en la zona de salida hacia los Glaciares con lo que ayuda. Los últimos tramos de acceso no están asfaltados pero están bien. Las habitaciones amplias. limpias y confortables y el trato de Susana inmejorable. siempre pendiente. Hemos estado como en casa. El desayuno fenomenal. Aparcamiento gratuito en la puerta. Breves escaleras para acceder, habitaciones en planta superior. Para nosotros todo fue perfecto.

No haber tenido más tiempo para hablar más con Susana

La Sra. Susana es un amor en todo el sentido de la palabra; Su calidez, trato y atenciones nos hicieron sentir como en casa durante todo el tiempo. Con ella sostuvimos conversaciones que nos ayudaron a entender mejor la cultura de la zona y obtuvimos muy buenas recomendaciones de lugares para visitar y almorzar. También, el desayuno que se incluye con la estadía es delicioso y fresco cada día. El alojamiento está ubicado en un alto desde donde se tiene una vista maravillosa de la ciudad de El Calafate y el Lago Argentino. La facilidad está bien equipada y en excelentes condiciones estructurales. Definitivamente es un lugar que recomiendo a ojos cerrados. Como nota al margen y para la posteridad, tuvimos el privilegio de ser el primer grupo de República Dominicana que se hospeda en el lugar, algo que nos llena de orgullo. 🇩🇴🫱🏻‍🫲🏼🇦🇷

Tolle Unterkunft mit einem schönen Blick auf den See. Mit Susana als Gastgeberin ein Volltreffer! Wir haben eine medizinische Versorgung benötigt und sprechen kein Spanisch. Susana hat selbstlos bei allem unterstützt und geholfen. Das Frühstück war wirklich super und man fühlt sich einfach insgesamt sehr sehr wohl. Auch am Abend hat sie uns spontan noch ein sehr gutes Abendessen gemacht. Wirklich eine empfehlenswerte Unterkunft. Danke Susana!

Breakfast was exceptional! Susana was so warm and welcoming! I was tired from the drive from Torres del Paine NP and she cooked dinner when I arrived. Spacious room, and I enjoyed sleeping with the window open. Great views of Calafate and Lago Argentino from the dining area. Hosteria Soberana is set up very well. It was a very personal experience.

Susana is a fantastic host. She has helped us in organizing our visit to El Calafate providing a lot of very useful suggestions. The room was very nice, with a lot of space. The breakfast is very good and varied. I would reccomend this place if you would like to visit El Calafate but you will need a car to reach the place.

We came back to stay for the second time because we enjoyed our stay so much. Susana is very welcoming and generous to us. Her dinner and breakfast was delicious and a part of the reason we came back. The room is large and comfortable for myself and my two other family members. Couldn’t ask for more. Thank you Susana!

You really need your own transportation, which we had, as this place is out on the peninsula away from the busy centre which we really liked.

The Hosteleria is located just outside of town, which was perfect for us since we love peaceful surroundings and great views. Getting there with our rental car was super easy. It’s set in the most stunning area, overlooking the lake. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by the warmest, kindest host — truly an angel. One morning, when we had to leave early, she woke up just to prepare fresh medialunas and coffee for us — such an incredible gesture. The breakfast the next day was just as perfect and delicious. Our room was spotless, beautifully decorated, and the bed was unbelievably comfortable — plus, of course, those breathtaking views again. The hospitality here is truly out of this world!

Susana, the owner, made us feel so comfortable from the moment we set foot at her Hosteria. Her warmth welcome, taking care of everything single detail, made us feel like we were home. She also made some delicious milanesa sandwiches we took on our day trips and they were wonderful! Super clean facilities, spacious room, big and varied breakfast. Our stay wasn’t long enough

The location is nicely quiet, yet still close to El Calafate (5-10min drive) with beautifull view on the lagoon Breakfast provided by Suzana was excelent. She was attentive and nice host.

We had an absolutely amazing stay at Hosteria La Soberana - it's truly the best place to stay in El Calafate, and like a home away from home. Susana is such a warm and welcoming host, so attentive to our needs. We were treated to homemade almond milk for breakfast & delicious home cooked meals (including homemade empanadas for lunch!). The rooms are spacious, designed beautifully and all have stunning views over Lago Argentino, with the most stunning lake sunsets and sunrises to wake up to. We truly felt so at ease and peace here after long days exploring the glaciers, and we can't wait to be back!!

Hands down the best value property we’ve ever stayed at. Susana was welcoming and hospitable and treated us like family, even surprising us with a birthday cake one morning for my husband. We would go out of our way to come back here to stay again!

There’s nothing we didn’t like, just be aware some of the beds share walls so you could potentially hear your neighbors talking

Susana was the perfect host. We couldn’t have felt more welcome in her Hostería. She cooked for us two nights in a row and it felt like we had a private chef. Breakfast was extensive and delicious with fresh fruits and croissants. We very much enjoyed the view from our room: beautiful sunset over El Calafate with you wild horses running to the lake. We would recommend this Hostería to anyone.

Susana - the host - was the best host of all hotels and places we stayed during our 3-week honeymoon in Argentina. She immediately made us feel like at home with her welcoming attitude and her warmth. The view from our room on the lake and the stunning environment was just breathtaking. I also wholeheartedly recommend to try the dishes on her menu for either lunch or dinner. The prices are very affordable and the food excellent and home-made. We had also asked her to prepare sandwiches for our day trip which turned out great. The breakfast she serves managed to convince us as well! We want to return - the place is amazing to disconnect, to enjoy delicious food and to take in the great views. Wifi works well and the rooms are very clean. Susana even went the extra mile and rearranged the pick-up time for our day tour the next day. I recommend La Soberana 100%!

We had the most wonderful stay at Hosteria La Soberana. Our host was such a lovely lady - she looked after us like we were her family! The setting is also beautiful - stunning view across the plane, with view of the lake. Very restful and quiet - absolutely perfect, would highly recommend to anyone.

This B&B was a welcome treat after our 13 day road trip. It was across the lake inlet from the city of El Calafate so a short five minute car ride but away from the hustle and bustle of the city. It also was very close to our favorite restaurant we enjoyed, Rustico Asador y Parrilla. Susanna, the host, was so sweet and kind and would greet us out on the steps when we came back from our adventures. We had come from El Chalten and everything there felt dirty and so coming to Hostería La Soberana where everything was clean and well taken care of is the bit of comfort that I needed.

The bed was a bit uncomfortable, a bit too firm for my liking and the sheet very stiff.

Susana is the kindest host! She was so accommodating of dietary requirements and goi can tell she genuinely cares about her guests and their experience.

The rooms are spacious with great features - the building has high ceilings and has a wonderful feel. The views over the lake are sensational! The host was exceptional - informative and helpful on all the different glacier tours available and where to purchase them, local restaurants etc. Her breakfast was really delicious and enormous so we ended up packing some for lunch too!
