Es muy bonito, limpio, contacto con la naturaleza maravilloso.

No está tan cubierto, se puede observar por algunas brechas tanto desde el piso de arriba como desde afuera. Eso quita privacidad

Nos gusto mucho el lugar, muy tranquilo.

Le lieu est magnifique et idéal pour se déconnecter en pleine nature. La plage est accessible à pied et il y a des endroits pour manger juste à côté. Maria est très agréable et disponible.

El personal lo vimos al realizar el check ing. Estuvimos 3 noches no interactúan con los clientes . La habitación estaba sin limpiar. Tuvimos que mover la cama y había bolsas de patatas fritas debajo. El tema de la cocina compartida.....mejor no tener nada . Poco menaje y el poco sucio y cubiertos oxidados . Los tres días con obras lo cual impedía disfrutar del sitio y tener intimidad. Pero no les importa nada solo el dinero . No tuvieron ni un detalle con los huéspedes. No lo recomiendo calidad precio ..... exagerado

La llave me la dieron lo de el hotel al lado Nunca más vi nadie en los dos días .

Fui con mi pareja y disfrutamos mucho el lugar, se sentía una paz muy especial, lo recomiendo 100%. Nos quedamos en la cabaña Deluxe, tenía todo lo necesario para que estuviéramos cómodos. Hicimos un amigo que nos hizo compañía, un gatito muy especial. Literalmente los perritos de la zona nos guiaron a la playa, fue una experiencia única. La playa es hermosa, nos encantó.

La zona común es ideal y muy agradable. Las habitaciones están muy bien y destacaría la localización, es un sitio idílico donde desconectar por completo.

Prachtige locatie op loopafstand van prachtig strand.

In het rieten huisje zijn drie kamers. Dat is wel heel erg gehorig als ze allemaal bezet zijn. Het wordt dan meer een dormitory. De zogenaamde grote tweepersoons bedden zijn wel erg klein voor grotere/langere mensen.

Though room had very strong mold smell, and in pictures looked better, also room was very dark. When we stepped in right away we changed our mind. And didint stay there

Increíble lugar lleno de naturaleza, paz y cuidado. La habitación era enorme y preciosa. El baño es el más bonito en el que he estado. Es plena selva y lo recomiendo a cualquier amante de la naturaleza. Compartir espacio con otros animales es muy bonito. Vimos caracoles gigantes, algún cangrejo enrome, muchos perritos, gatitos... La verdad es que es un lugar increíble. Lo recomiendo al 100%

La colmena no la conocí y el valle lodge, si hubiéramos tenido luz habría estado bien.

Hicimos la reserva en la Colmena a través de la plataforma, como suele ser algo recurrente en muchos lugares de la isla, no te dejan hacer el pago a través de la web. Cuando esto ocurre y vas a pagar en el alojamiento sueles tener problemas porque el precio no coincide, y coincide menos cuando encima pretendes pagar con tarjeta de crédito, porque suelen inflar aún mas esa cifra. Nosotros llegamos sobre las 18.30 horas que ya en la isla en agosto va anocheciendo, y la chica de recepción María de Madrid, nos estaba esperando. Cuando nos fue a enseñar la cabaña y fue a dar la luz, no teníamos luz.... Nosotros necesitamos cargar cada día teléfonos y cámaras que llevamos en nuestro viaje, entonces le dijimos que no nos quedábamos. Ella nos ofreció el único hotel donde no faltaría la luz esa noche, donde su jefa era también en parte propietaria "El Valle Lodge". En este lugar deben tener conversores o transformadores que mediante gasolina o gas en los cortes de luz actúan y se mantiene con electricidad. Accedimos teniendo en cuenta que la diferencia eran 40 euros mas. En los 18 días que hemos pasado viajando por Republica Dominicana, ha sido el alojamiento mas caro 103 euros, alguno pensará que no es mucho, pero por ese precio he dormido 2 y casi 3 noches en otros sitios. Hasta ahí todo bien, no nos quedaba otro remedio si queríamos luz, el problema lo tuvimos cuando cerca de las 2 de la mañana, cortaron la luz y listo.... Yo ya no pude dormir del calor, porque evidentemente el aire no funcionaba tampoco pudimos cargar nuestros elementos electrónicos.

La estancia increíble en un lugar mágico. María encantadora nos aconsejó muy bien cómo poder disfrutar al máximo de la cultura local.

The location was amazing, immersed totally in the rain forest with the beach just a short 5min walk away. i loved the community feel amongst the 3 surrounding hotels, There was fitness classes held each morning next door with Leisy's Cafe offering a fresh healthy breakfast, all of the founders & staff were amazing... really enjoyed my stay. I used it as a base to explore the surrounding Samana area and was so thankful to be ending my day in this little slice of paradise. A car is necessary for accessing this place but once your there you could happily occupy yourself for days on the beautiful secluded beach front.

The room was incredibly comfortable, with cozy bedding and thoughtful design. Falling asleep to the soothing sounds of nature, and distant ocean waves, was an experience unlike any other. My other favorite part was the semi-open bathroom.It was such an incredible feeling to take a shower in contact with nature while still having privacy.

I loved everything in this place. I definitely want to come back!

We received a very friendly welcome from Maria. She quickly tried to fulfill all our requests and gave us good tips for the surrounding area. The cottage was lovingly and comfortably furnished. The pool was right in front of the cottage and very clean. The lodge grounds were very well maintained, with beautiful plants and perfect for relaxing. The breakfast was also very tasty and the service was very friendly. The beautiful El Valle beach is just a 10-minute walk away. I recommend everyone to book an excursion by speedboat to Ermitaño beach, which can be reached quite quickly. A pure dream, like paradise. Maria also provides support here if you want to book excursions. I can definitely recommend it.

Unfortunately, our air conditioning was broken. Maria organized someone to solve the problem, but unfortunately it seemed to be a more complicated defect. That's why it was quite warm in the cottage. However, Maria organized fans for us, which was very helpful. The fridge in the communal kitchen was quite overfilled and not completely clean. Otherwise the kitchen was very well equipped.

Breakfast was fantastic, fruits and breads and jam and eggs, with a truly stunning view. The pool and the kitchen were right outside my door, which was lovely.

Not their fault, but the power went out all over town for half a day. Anything else i didn’t like was my own fault for going spur of the moment and not really speaking Spanish.!

I loved how accommodating the staff was and the room was very cozy and comfortable. :) The beach was a 5 minute walk away and great local restaurants nearby.

the common areas are beautiful, there is a small vegetable garden where you can pick your herbs for cooking in the shared kitchen.

The area is beautiful and the cabins are rustic. The common area with the swimming pool and the kitchen was really nice. Although there is no reception there, Grace made sure we had all the information before our arrival, and she met us as soon as she could, and kept in contact during the stay to check we had everything we needed!

The light in the room was too dim, so it was hard to find anything in the evening. The location was great but be aware that it is also an isolated place - you need to have your own means of transportation, or be prepared to pay the expensive taxi fee from Samaná (around 80$)

One of the standout features of La Colmena is its cute and well-maintained rooms. Each room is uniquely decorated and furnished with all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. The beds are comfortable, and the bathrooms are clean and very spacious, you basically shower in the jungle. Water coming out of the tab can be dirty occasionally but that's to expect in the middle of nowhere, we think it came from a nearby river. La Colmena doesn't offer breakfast but it comes with a communal kitchen where you can make your own if you're down for that. We had our breakfasts at the El Valle Lodge next door for $8 per person which was fantastic. Staff is super helpful and kind and helped us book an epic excursion.

If you're not a fan of dogs, this might not be the best place for you. The hotel is located in an area where street dogs are common, and they occasionally make their way onto the property. Another thing to note is that if you're a light sleeper, it's important to check if there's a festival or event in the area before you book your stay (recommend to go during the week if you like it quiet). During our visit, there was a festival, and the nearby party blasting music all night long made it difficult to get a good night's sleep for one of our nights. There's also construction happening next door, but that doesn't start until 9am. Despite these minor drawbacks, we had a lovely stay at La Colmena. The hotel staff was super friendly and very helpful, and the overall atmosphere was relaxing and inviting. If you're looking for a charming and affordable hotel in a great location, La Colmena is definitely worth considering.

The property is in the middle of the jungle, and within a 5min walk to the beach. It’s really paradise (but be aware that is very secluded and might not be for everyone). For my vacation was perfect! You can truly rest in this place, falling asleep and waking up with the sounds of the jungle. The staff only made our experience better, they were the nicest and most attentive people:)
