The location is perfect, nearby lots of nature in the beautiful town of Appenzell. The breakfast was great with a very nice lady greeting everybody.

It was a hot night, so an airconditioning unit would have been great, but luckily I sleep well in hot weather.

Wir möchten uns herzlich für den ausgesprochen angenehmen Aufenthalt bedanken. Besonders hervorheben möchten wir den aussergewöhnlich freundlichen Service – vom Empfang über das Restaurantteam bis hin zur Organisation im Hintergrund. Die Mitarbeitenden waren jederzeit aufmerksam, hilfsbereit und haben mitgedacht, was unseren Aufenthalt spürbar erleichtert und verschönert hat. Das Frühstück war hervorragend: frisch, vielfältig, liebevoll präsentiert und mit einem sehr guten Preis‑Leistungsverhältnis. Genau so stellt man sich einen gelungenen Start in den Tag vor. Auch die Zimmer verdienen ein Kompliment. Sie sind einfach, aber sehr sauber, gepflegt und angenehm ruhig – man merkt, dass hier Wert auf Ordnung und Wohlbefinden gelegt wird. Besonders beeindruckt hat uns die effiziente und mitdenkende Organisation für unsere Gruppe von rund 20 Personen. Die Kommunikation war klar, schnell und lösungsorientiert, und wir hatten jederzeit das Gefühl, bestens betreut zu sein. Insgesamt: Ein Haus mit herzlichem Service, starkem Frühstück, sehr guter Sauberkeit und überzeugendem Preis‑Leistungsverhältnis. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Cute, clean, close to train station, friendly host. Loved area in lobby to buy wine, beer, and sandwiches. We enjoyed our wine out on the patio in the evening. The breakfast was wonderful!

We couldn’t find a plug in the bathroom but had a mirror in main room with plug nearby.

Bett war ausreichend gross und die Matratze nicht zu weich. Sehr sauber.

Alles sehr spartanisch aber ausreichend. Bei offenem Fenster konnte ich schlafen(Ende August). Im Hochsommer zu warm. Essen verboten im Zimmer. Sehr grosszügiges Frühstück. Kaffee zwischendurch umsonst.

The location is very close to train station, room is clean, host is very pleasant and breakfast provided with so many different varieties and all are delicious. We buy sandwiches from the host in the morning which save time to go to the store.

- Leider keine Klimaanlage oder Ventilator, und auch kein Fliegengitter an den Fenstern, was das Lüften bei den sehr warmen Sommertagen sehr erschwert hat und es extrem warm war im Zimmer. - Badezimmer noch alt obwohl auf den Bildern nur das neu renovierte Bad zu sehen war, das war etwas schade.

Sehr freundliches und aufmerksames Personal. Gemütlicher Aufenthaltsraum mit gratis Früchten. Sehr zentral gelegen mit gratis Parkplatzmöglichkeiten vor dem Hotel.

Das Einzelzimmer mit geteiltem Bad war gut. Die Dusche mit Badewanne ist ein bisschen altmodisch und man könnte eine moderne Dusche einbauen.

Sehr gutes und reichhaltiges Frühstück. Topp Lage beim Bahnhof.

Absolute gem! Every little detail in this modern neat small hotel was well thought over and a feast for the eye. Check in so easy & Facilities well kept and spotless. Although a self check in hotel, the thoughtful touches added for travellers as well as the welcoming & friendly hostess at breakfast is sure to make every traveller feel special and welcome. Dining room /lounge beautiful & breakfast was superb & laundry available a fantastic bonus if you have been travelling a while. Although location is a not right in centre, (I preffered it to be closer to train station as not to drag around luggage) the perks of this quiet, stylish whimsical place most definitely makes up by far for the easy short stroll to town! I can highly recommend!

Die Unterkunft war sehr sauber und wirklich vintage eingerichtet. Das Einchecken war super einfach und problemlos. Die Frau war sowas von nett, da macht Urlaub Spaß. Frühstück sehr liebevoll und reichlich - die frischen Früchte, herrlich! Die zentrale Lage am Bahnhof war super für alle Ausflüge und der Zug war überhaupt nicht zu hören. Alles in allem habe ich mich sehr wohl gefühlt und würde es weiterempfehlen.

The room is very basic. The bathroom is small. Smell of cigarettes in the common space and close to the room. The water pressure was weak. Value for money is not enough.

Mir hat alles bestens gefallen, ich hatte eine günstigere Alternative zu den anderen Hotels gesucht und ich glaube hiermit sogar die bessere Wahl getroffen. Es gibt eine familiäre, freundliche Atmosphäre aber gleichzeitig ist es sehr sauber und professionell. Trotz Gemeinschaftsbad hat man seine Privatsphäre und merkt niemanden. Das Highlight sind der tolle Kaffeeautomat (+Tee, Schokolade) und das große und teils selbstgemachte Frühstück. Ich komme gern wieder.

Wunderbar liebevoll gemachtes Frühstück mit allem, was man sich wünschen kann. Die Gastgeberinnen haben uns die Wünsche von den Lippen abgelesen. Die Nähe zum Bahnhof ist unschlagbar und auch ins Zentrum ist es nur einen Katzensprung.

Excellent service, everything was very clean, good breakfast and great hospility. Loved the interiours and furnitures on the common areas, really beautiful and so cosy sitting there relaxing after long day of hiking. The train station is located just outside which was perfect. Just a few minutes walk to grocery store. Appenzellerland is such a beautiful and welcoming community. Highly recommend a visit.

Excellent B&B in Appenzell. Next to the train station and can take the 'short-route' to the B&B if you walk to the end of the train track where it intersects the road, rather than following the Google map. Very good breakfast and excellent host. Highly recommended.

I highly recommend staying here. The location is perfect right next to the train station, very easy to take the train to the trails or cable cars. It is very quiet and you don’t hear the train while indoors. The breakfast was delicious, very rich variety and high quality products. Free coffee and fruits available during the day, washing machine and dryer also available for free. The hostess was friendly and helpful. I enjoyed my time there.
