Reviewed Sep 12, 2026De lokatie was heel goed, dichtbij de Altstadt. Het ontbijt was heerlijk, goed verzorgd, alles vers, veel fruit. Wifi was goed.
Onze kamer bevond zich op de 2e verdieping. Het waren hele hoge verdiepingen, dus lange trappen en geen lift. De kamer was erg klein (ik denk dat dit het kleinste kamertje in het hotel was) en had twee aparte bedden die aan weerszijden van de kamer stonden. Deze verdieping had een laag plafond en slechts een kleine dakkapel met raam. Er was te weinig ruimte om je spullen kwijt te kunnen. Ik zou het een eenpersoonskamer noemen. De douche werd af en toe koud. Douchecel erg gedateerd. Hoge instap en glad. Het was ook jammer dat er geen parkeerplaats meer over was en we dus naar een parkeergarage moesten gaan. Wel voor hetzelfde bedrag als bij het hotel. Omdat de auto ver weg was moesten we dan ook alle bagage eruit halen op een plek waar we niet echt konden parkeren. Waardoor andere mensen er niet uit konden rijden. Vervolgens moest alle bagage meer dan 50 treden omhoog worden gebracht. We werden er wel mee geholpen. We vonden de prijs echt te hoog voor wat we ervoor kregen.

Reviewed Sep 1, 2026Location- 5 minutes walk to the historic centre of town yet in a very quiet peaceful area. 5 minutes walk to the gateway to the Black Forest. Room- small single room but very well equipped. Plenty of complimentary water , teas and coffees and very well stocked mini bar. Comfortable and clean. Friendly breakfast service with nice coffee.

Il n'y avait personne à l'accueil bien que nous soyons là avant 18h. La carte permettant l'ouverture automatique de la porte censée être dans la chambre n'était pas là non plus. Pas de place de parking gratuite, il faut garer la voiture dans une rue avec parcmètre, les autres sont attribuées aux résidents.

Reviewed Aug 15, 2026Location was excellent, just three minutes' walk from the Schwabentor and then into the rest of the old town, with trams close by. The staff were universally kind and helpful in every way. The orientation of the bed in the room was unusual but there was plenty of space for the two of us. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Freiburg and staying at Alleehaus made it just that bit better.
Hard to find fault.

Reviewed Aug 11, 2026Located 5 minutes on foot from the cathedral, we enjoyed staying in this hotel in an old mansion. The lady at the reception was friendly enough to wait for us to arrive (at 19:15 even though reception actually closes at 18:00). Private parking in a garage box. Can also recommend the cordon blue and schnitzel in Gasthaus Goldener Anker which is 5 minutes on foot from the hotel. We only spend one night so we didn't really care that the room was quite small (also: no A/C) and the bathroom quite outdated.

Reviewed Jul 19, 2026Das Einzelbett ist 120cm breit, die Matratze für meine Bedürfnisse im Härtegrad perfekt. Ein Kleiderschrank ist vorhanden, enthält Kleiderbügel und Einlegeböden. Keine Klimaanlage aber Standventilator. Alles ist sauber und wird täglich gereinigt.
Die Türen sind laut, wenn man nicht aufmerksam beim schließen ist.

Reviewed Jul 12, 2026Das Personal war super freundlich. Besonders beim Frühstück würde man total nett empfangen. Die Lage zum Ortskern ist absolut Top. Das Zimmer war sauber und mit allem nötigen ausgestattet. Bei diesem heißen Wetter hab es auch einen Ventilator im Zimmer. Nicht überall selbstverständlich.
Das einzige was ein klein wenig anstrengend war, war das Gemeinschaftsbad auf dem Flur. Kein Klo auf dem Zimmer ist nachts immer etwas blöd. Aber für 2 Nächte war das kein allzu großes Problem.

For this price one would expect much better facilities, specifically: 1) The room is spacious but most of the space is useless, for there is very little furniture and even the cupboard doesn’t have shelves (so there is no really place m to store things out of sight) 2) AC should be installed - this is not a big house so it can be done relatively easily 3) Breakfast is very basic

Reviewed Jun 26, 2026Hôtel situé dans une rue bordée de belles demeures et de tilleuls, très proche du centre ville. Un bâtiment ancien, ayant gardé le charme d'antan, un petit déjeuner de belle qualité, parfait pour découvrir Freiburg à pied en laissant son auto au parking attenant (payant).
Ce n'était pas notre souci mais à noter que l'établissement n'est pas PMR (chambres en étages)

Reviewed Jun 25, 2026Location is top, rooms are huge and bed comfy. Breakfast is good and parking available. We enjoyed our stay and had a great time in a room that kept cool in the heat.
Breakfast was not included and parking also payable which increased our bill to over 150 Euro, which was a surprise. As the house is old you hear every step of the room above and baby wining as well.

Reviewed Jun 10, 2026locatie in mooie rustige wijk, en centrale leuke straatjes vlakbij. Personeel heel vriendelijk, en reageert gelijk bij vragen. Heel schoon. 15-20 min lopen vanaf Hauptbahnhof.
Ik sliep in een soort dependance met gedeeld douche/toilet. Dat is prima, maar douche en toilet wel in 1 ruimte, dus als iemand anders doucht kan je niet naar de wc, dat is wel ongemakkelijk. Verder krijg je in de dependance weinig mee van de sfeer van het hotel zelf (heel mooi pand). Prijs kwaliteit verhouding wel prima (gezien feit dat veel hotels in Freiburg erg duur zijn)

Reviewed Jun 1, 2026Prachtig hotel in een hele mooie wijk vlakbij het centrum. Van te voren een parkeerplek gereserveerd en dat was erg handig. Hotelkamers waren erg mooi met oude accenten. Je steekt de straat over en bent in het autovrije centrum van Freiburg. Ontbijt was heerlijk en zeer uitgebreid.
De kamer was exclusief ontbijt en dat wordt het voor 1 nacht toch best prijzig.

Unser Zimmer im Erdgeschoss war sehr laut, mit Beginn des Frühstücks war an Schlaf nicht mehr zu denken. Geschirrgeklapper und laute Unterhaltung die man mithören konnte. EG unbedingt vermeiden. Die Betten stark durchgelesen.

Stayed downstairs because of huge bags and no lift. So, no problem there. Surprised at significant price hike on Thursday and Friday April 30 and May 1. We didn't think Thursday April 30th should have been premium.

Reviewed May 17, 2026Situation de l'hôtel proche du Centre historique facilement atteignable à pied (10mn) , calme car rue résidentielle et peu passante, petit-déjeuner copieux et varié et service très souriant. Très beau parquet, parties communes très bien entretenues.
Absence d'ascenseur pour monter dans les étages. Réception fermée dès 18h, code à utiliser pour entrer. Parking à 18€ dans la cour de l'hôtel, trouvé assez cher mais permet de laisser la voiture tant que l'on visite la ville jusqu'à 12h.

Reviewed May 12, 2026Mein absolutes Lieblingshotel in Freiburg. Wenn ich in der Stadt bin und noch ein Zimmer frei ist, buche ich praktisch immer hier. Das Haus hat viel Charme, ist modern, sauber und gleichzeitig angenehm unkompliziert. Besonders hervorheben muss man das Personal, immer freundlich, aufmerksam und professionell. So selten geworden wie funktionierende Drucker im Büroalltag. Die Zimmer sind schön eingerichtet und man fühlt sich sofort wohl. Ja, das Haus ist etwas hellhörig und man bekommt hier und da etwas vom Umfeld mit. Mich persönlich stört das aber überhaupt nicht, es gehört irgendwie zum Charakter des Hauses und macht die Atmosphäre sogar lebendig statt steril. Für mich jedes Mal wieder eine klare Empfehlung und definitiv ein Hotel, auf das ich mich immer freue.
Als kleiner Kritikpunkt dürfte die Detailsauberkeit wieder etwas mehr Aufmerksamkeit erhalten. Die Betten, Handtücher und die Dusche waren zwar absolut sauber, da gibt es nichts zu beanstanden. Allerdings waren im Badezimmer die Lüftungsschlitze der Türen deutlich eingestaubt. Zudem wirkte der Deckel der Klopapierhalterung etwas schmierig und im Wasserkocher stand noch Wasser vom vorherigen Gast. Unter dem Vorhang lag ausserdem noch eine Mütze eines früheren Gastes, wir haben sie dort gelassen, in der Hoffnung, dass sie irgendwann bei einer zukünftigen archäologischen Reinigungsexpedition entdeckt wird. Nichts davon ist dramatisch, eher Kleinigkeiten, die in einem ansonsten wirklich sehr guten Hotel einfach stärker auffallen.

Reviewed May 10, 2026Die Unterkunft im Hinterhaus ist einfach aber für den Preis völlig in Ordnung. Außer dem Gemeinschaftsbad hatte mein Zimmer ein Waschbecken, was angenehm war. Die Lage ist sehr gut. In 5‘ ist man mitten im Zentrum.
Es ist ein bisschen hellhörig. War bei meinem Aufenthalt überhaupt kein Problem.

Chambres très spacieuses avec grande hauteur sous plafond, très confortables, très bien équipées et décorées de bon goût. Personnel adorable et aux petits soins. Petits déjeuners excellents et très copieux. Une adresse vraiment idéale pour un séjour à Freiburg.
