Reviewed Aug 7, 2026Unfortunately, very little. Our experience was extremely disappointing.
We had specifically requested, several weeks in advance, two rooms close to each other as we were travelling with our children. Instead, we were given rooms at opposite ends of the hotel, even though it seemed perfectly possible to arrange otherwise. Our room (Room 1) should simply not be rented in its current condition. It is extremely small, has no proper ventilation and had a very unpleasant smell. Even worse, it opens directly onto the communal breakfast area. From around 7am, and even earlier, guests were sitting, eating and talking literally a few centimetres from our door, making it impossible to rest. During the night, the receptionist was watching a series on his phone loudly enough for us to hear everything from our room. I had to get up twice to ask him to turn it down so that we could sleep. Finally, when we were already in bed and almost asleep, a member of staff knocked loudly on our door to tell us that our children could not stay alone in their room and asked us to swap rooms with them. After having specifically requested adjoining or nearby rooms weeks beforehand, disturbing us at bedtime to address a problem created by the hotel’s own room allocation was unacceptable. The attitude of the staff throughout our stay was also far from welcoming. Overall, this was by far the worst accommodation experience of our trip.

El desayuno es de lo mejor! Tienes 6 opciones a escoger y es uno de los tantos que he visitado qué tiene ese servicio. Camas muy cómodas, dormimos delicioso, bien equipadas con AC y su TV. Reviewed Mar 10, 2026I have stayed here before and will likely stay again! Super-cute place, wonderful staff, and good breakfast. Room was clean and spacious, and the AC worked well. The rooftop at the hostel is very cute and relaxing. There is a secure gate to be buzzed in/out of the property.
The wi-fi has some significant issues (although this is common in many places in Riohatcha in my experience). There is a co-working space 2 blocks away which was helpful when I needed stronger signal.
