Lovely location, with very attentive staff who made every effort to make the stay easy with a personal eye to detail
Staff on arrival were very helpful
Arriving at 11.40pm after a wedding, it was raining and no maun doors open was informed the hotel would be open till 12 midnight, then having to find the stairs, which we struggled to find on the other side of hotel in the pouring rain, we were wet through .
very comfortable and excellent restaurant too!
Nice big room in a good location above a really good restaurant. I was surprised at how good it was considering the low price! Comfy bed and really great big bath.
Condensation or maybe a tiny leak from the bath made the floor a bit wet.
Large comfortable room and good shower
No WiFi access, despite a large number of staff we were kept waiting to check in, order food, and buy drinks. And tables in the bar weren’t cleaned but staff had time to chat and access their mobiles .
Staff very pleasant and polite, nothing was too much trouble. Lovely restaurant and the food was excellent.
There was the odd thing if you wanted to be picky. Couple of stains on the carpet.
Rooms where incredibly hot during the night
The cleaning ladies were very kind, they put our childrens Teddy's, into the bed, my children, Kenny & Henry were so happy about this kind gesture. Many thanks to the cleaning ladies, from room number 11.
Location was good for our needs
Rooms dated and breakfast offer not worth the money. Plastic 2 litre milk bottle put out for breakfast which is not expected given the price.
Staff were super friendly and helpful. Location was convenient with plenty of parking. Food was good and we had a nice cooked breakfast the following morning. Room was pleasant and spacious rather than luxurious. Just what we needed for the evening.
All good
Clearly signposted . Friendly staff.
Bedside lights didn't work although there was a note about them. Would have liked breakfast included for the price.
Lovely location, perfect for the wedding I attended. Would definitely recommend this hotel.
I got a bit lost in the corridors 🫣 but that's just me. Everything was perfect.
The character was charming
It’s little remote
Rooms are lovely, very clean, everything you could need. Staff are lovely, they even remembered us from previous visits when we have attended for our university visits. Evening meal was absolutely outstanding and breakfast just as nice.
Nothing it's just lovely
First time staying here but been to the steakhouse a few times and extra surprised at how nice the rooms are would deffo stay again
The bed were just a bit to firm needs mattress topper but apart from that fantastic
Good facilities and friendly staff
Location was great. Staff are friendly and rooms are lovely
Nothing ! Would stay time and time again
Service was excellent, food was fresh.
Excellent location for us attending a family party.
Nothing to not like.
Perfect location that allowed us to attend a family party nearby without worrying about having a drink and relaxing nothing just
breakfast was only "average" I am afraid.... could have been so much better for the price.
very average breakfast, very average room, for an above average price.... it was only the location that worked for me.
Lovely room and comfortable bed!
Everything. The hotel was lovely and the room was huge with a lovely view. The bed was really comfortable and massive
Nothing
Quality or room and good value for Sunday night stay. Shower excellent
Good all round experience with great friendly staff
The rooms was very clean the staff very helpful miller and carter is a very lovely hotel clean and tidy, I would stay miller and carter again
The only thing I didn't like is the price of the food, I think it's a bit expensive, when we had food it was lovely, but dear
Clean and spacious roon with good facilities and a great shower with rainfall shower ad well as conventional.
Lovely room
Nothing
Food Great - However service a little slow at 7.30am - one poor staff member trying to cover all front of house
Bar closed very early in the evening
Fab always clean rooms fab staff
Nothing all was great
Room was clean and large. Generally slept well.
Only guest Wifi available which was next to useless and the pub is remote so no phone signal either, was staying for work which was a problem. Also, shower cuts out when adjacent rooms use their.
Nice and clean, friendly staff
Price was extortionate for 1 night - in excess of £220. We have stayed here on several occasions previously and the price was always in the region of £85 per night. Will re-think for any future possible stays.
It would have been useful to have some towels in my room so I didn't have to get dry using the spare pillow cases.
Free parking , 5 mins drive to train station so easy access to Anfield Stadium for concert. Clean and tidy, helpful friendly staff.
Not far from Ormskirk

There wasn’t anything i didn’t like
Comfortable room
Expensive for quality. TV not working properly
Comfortable and well apointed inn. Rooms tastefully decorated and good Bathroom facilities. The Restaurant and bar area are excellent and the Food on offer is fantastic. All staff members were friendly and helpful throughout our short stay and I would highly recommend
Only a minor point but I would have like some water in the room
Very friendly staff & a good breakfast, thank you.
Breakfast, staff and location were excellent. Tv very poor and we did ask for it to be looked at but it didn’t get any better. So bad couldn’t watch as froze every 30 seconds. Wifi also unreliable.
Tv reception and Wifi. And room has bad smell damp
Clean welcoming comfortable
Nothing
Everything. Great room and excellent food.
Nothing. Fantastic stay.
Staff were excellent, particularly the lady who served me breakfast.
Cost of room, although comfortable it was quite basic.
Very clean
Friendly staff, lovely large clean room. Had a few drinks in the bar and some bar snacks before we went out and it was all lovely. Had breakfast in the morning and that was also really nice.
Nothing
Room 7 is the best in my opinion. Bed very comfy. Food very good as well and the staff are fantastic
Big room Big bathroom. Easy car park
There was supposed to be WiFi. I couldn't get it
Breakfast and evening meal were very good and the staff were very friendly.
Only the sat nav directions were confusing. Nothing wrong with the hotel. Some channels on the TV were missing, not the end of the world.
Everyone in that whole area are just good people, so friendly and kind! But specifically at the Inn, they were very nice and helpful, wonderful food, and clean and comfy room. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay!
No complaints! Just wish there were washcloths available but they seem to not be a thing in the UK in general, so make sure to bring your own
Staff, food and accommodation all lovely.
I only had toast but family had scrambled eggs and all was fine. Had nibbles one evening and ordered coffees after which took a very long time to come and when we got them they were cold. We were both too tired to say anything due to a long emotional day
Toilet paper is shockingly bad and have to use so much of it otherwise you are wiping with your bare hands! Far too thin and not absorbent and rough. TV was awful with no reception so was no point of having it. Very frustrating.
Very clean, hotel in good location for Aintree, staff very friendly, food delicious, breakfast very good.
Nothing
The location was perfect for the wedding we were attending at West Tower. Room and ensuite were spacious and clean.
We arrived back from the wedding at 11.30pm the bar was closed. As residents we should have been able the get a drink from the bar. After all it was before midnight. The breakfast was poor.
The best breakfast we’ve had on tour!!!!
Everything was just perfect!!!
One of very few hotels anywhere near Ormskirk, which is where we really wanted to be! Efficiently managed, perfectly functional place, if a bit impersonal. Standard of bedding, etc, what you would expect for such a reasonable price.
Very hot couple of nights - no a/c and no fan offered. Room was not serviced on Bank Holiday Monday, with no explanation and no apology.
Easy, quick check in. Rooms are clean, restaurant and bar good. Very friendly staff.
Nothing
Great staff, great rooms, great food!
Small issue with the TV not working in my room ( 7 ) I told reception who said they will fix it.
Comfortable quiet room
Got there nearly 2hrs early, but seen straight away and room was ready. Room spotless and airy (windows already opened). Good shower and plenty of room.
With being at the front had to close the windows due to the road noise, so got a bit stuffy in the night. Nothing to be done about it, just one of those things.
Breakfast. It would be nice to have a choice of bread other than sourdough. Dinner. We had a party 12 for dinner and the food and waitress service was excellent.
Although the rooms (7 in total) had been pre booked and paid for the system didn’t seem to have updated to show that.
Breakfast was good quality ingredients and good value and service from Lewis was top level!
Some of the furniture looking tired in the dining areas
Everything as usual 😉
Me and my partner had a rare child free night, we came across miller and carter hotel and as steak lovers we couldn’t resist. The room was beautiful, clean and had everything we needed. We went downstairs for food and we had the pleasure of meeting our waitress Melody. She was more than amazing. She made us feel like she was our friend. She looked after us and every other table she had. She went above and beyond for every table she was serving. I’ve been a waitress and I know how hard it is but she made it look easy. She’s a credit to this company. The whole experience was amazing but it’s someone like melody that make it that bit more special.
Location
Wi-fi was poor
Excellent room and superb breakfast
Lovely food clean room and lovely staff
Bed was very hard no give at all
I chose this Hotel for convenience of location to my destination. I had used it before and had a positive experience
Reception upon arrival was rushed. First room smelt like there was an issue with the drains in the bathroom. Requested another room and one was allocated without question. However, when asked, the shift manager said that no issue had been reported by Housekeeping which I found odd as the odour was strong and windows were open on arrival, indicating that perhaps housekeeping felt a need to ventilate. The place ticks all the boxes for facilities but seems to need a little TLC
Great rooms, great staff, great cocktails!!!
No dislikes
Location
Hard mattress
Room was a very good size and the bathroom has a great shower, good hanging space and in room faculties also good. USB power points a plenty and great black out curtains kept the room nice and dark in the morning
Main beds were way too hard for our personal taste and the pull out beds mattress was extremely uncomfortable, the quality of the linen wasn't the best. It wasn't a very warm day 20 degrees but the room even with the windows open was very warm and the small fan in there made no impact
The outside space was lovely especially in the sun
Heat on all night and bed too hard for us
Great place to stay, fantastic food
Nothing
Spacious room. Food was excellent Room was quiet.0
Shutters on the windows were a bit rickety. Food was expensive. Error made on final bill - keep restaurant receipts !

Staff amazing, food amazing, room lovely, bathroom very clean!
We arrived very early as we had a meal booked elsewhere & we popped in as we were parked in the car park and didn’t want to get a parking charge. The lady on reception said it was fine & we had a coffee as we were too early for our other appointment, The cleaners worked hard & got our rooms ready for us to check-in before we left & she also ordered us taxi to take us to our meal. Breakfast was great both staff & food.
Would have liked bacon or sausage sandwiches on breakfast menu but could order toast & a side of bacon which we did but it was a little dry.
I’ve stayed at the Miller & Carter in Aughton many times over the years, mainly for work as it’s close to our head office, and it’s always been a reliable choice. The service is consistently great. The team are friendly, welcoming and genuinely helpful without overdoing it. Louisa in particular is always lovely and really helps make each stay feel more personal. The rooms are clean, tidy and well looked after every time I visit, which makes a big difference when you travel regularly. The beds are very comfortable too, so it’s easy to get a good night’s sleep after a long day. The location is also really convenient, with easy access to the surrounding area. I’d happily recommend it for both business and leisure.
Friendly staff
