Carpet in the hallways could do with being replaced

The bedroom and bathroom were clean with fresh linen and towels provided and the bed was very comfortable. The staff were all very pleasant and attentive. The restaurant and bar facilties were good.

There were only a small number of sockets in the room and none near the bed. The general decor of the rooms is showing its age in places and could probably do with some freshening up.

This is a traditional and older hotel so not modern but that’s part of its charm!

the location is great you are right in the centre of the town and where you want to be ,lots of bars and reastaurants near by and with in easy access to you.

the food is just average ,breakfast is in a nice area pleasent surroundings but its just sort of ok ish nothing to get over excited on,rooms are clean but walls are paper thin and every noise from next door is to be heard

The location can not be beaten right in the centre of Monaghan town beside everything. Fantastic staff Breakfast was fantastic Free parking is always great

The location was perfect and the staff were very friendly. The reception area and cocktail bar, and our double window bedroom at the front of the hotel was also nice. We appreciated being told on arrival that there was a Debs Ball taking place in the hotel that night and that we would see and hear them between 7-10pm and not after that as they kept them in a different part of the hotel. This turned out to be exactly the case. We observed the lovely dresses from our first floor front bedroom window when they arrived by bus, and were not disturbed at all later on in the night or next morning.

We were told the door might be difficult to open in our bedroom due to the new thick pile carpet. It was indeed hard to open but we didn't mind that. However, the carpet was wet in the central part of the room. We reported it, and were told that perhaps housekeeping had washed it. I don't know why a new carpet would need to be washed, but maybe there was a good reason. We couldn't walk around the room in socks as they got wet. They did offer to put in extra heaters while we were out, but we thought the room might get too hot to sleep in then. There were brand new towels in our bathroom, which was nice, but everyone knows new towels need a wash before use. We couldn't really dry ourselves with them, and we laughed when we emerged from the bathroom covered in fluff!.

The receptionist was so friendly and helpful the waitress were excellent and the food and presentation were fantastic, excellent stay super location and local bar Terry's was the cleanest bar I've been to in a very long time ,the owner Terry was so friendly and helpful ,super atmosphere.

The hotel was clean & comfortable, the staff were most helpful & the breakfasts were lovely.

I stayed in room 103 & found it a little dated. I also believe that €339 for a single person staying for two nights was expensive. Maybe that's down to the cost of living in Ireland.

Went for a small wedding; great food on the night. Central location, free parking, and friendly staff.

The courtyard dining area was cold. Breakfast was lackluster, with cool coffee and an unexceptional full Irish breakfast. It wasn't a place to relax and read the paper.more quick eat abd run.

I had just flew in from South Africa for a friend's wedding and this hotel made everything so easy. The receptionist checked me in early so I could shower and get dressed for the ceremony. She was also thoughtful enough to place me right next to my friend’s rooms. The rooms are spacious, with comfortable beds. Everything was sparkling clean and smelled so fresh. Location is perfect , right in the city centre and easy to walk anywhere. The park at the back with the beautiful fountain was a bonus. We took some of our photos there. The wedding reception setup was flawless and the food was delicious. Everyone at our table enjoyed their meals. Service was perfect too because every staff member was attentive, warm, and genuinely friendly. We all enjoyed our stay that we ended up extending 2 days longer and we already looking forward to our next visit, Highly recommended , 5 star ⭐

Although the mattress was very comfortable the bed was only a double need to upgrade to king-size. Though no fault of the hotel was very noisy as someone outside in the car park reving his car till 3am..felt security should have gone out and told him to leave.

we where on the 3rd floor and neighbouring room didn't have any respect for people being in bed shouting and screaming early hours of the morning would it make any sense to report it at the time?.

The shower was powerful

The rooms appear to date back decades, the bed was hard and lumpy, the carpets looked dirty, the bathroom did not smell fresh, the rooms were noisy at the front of the hotel, too warm and very stuffy.

The staff were superb. So friendly, helpful and professional. Nothing was too much trouble at all. The quality of the breakfast was good too.

Unfortunately, Internet reception was not too good. It was patchy, we passed in and out of it. We also had to sign in every time we came back into the hotel. The TV in the room wasn't of a great standard and the remote was full of sellotape around the back. Quite sub standard.
