The hotel appeared to be relatively new and so it was in good condition. The staff at the hotel and restaurant were very friendly and were doing their best to be helpful.
Where do I begin! The hotel appeared to be located on some sort of military installation which gave the whole place a weird vibe. It was divided into two separate buildings that were a block apart; the building I was in had no amenities except for an outdoor pool which had no loungers and was being used by kids swimming laps in some sort of instructional class. The other building had what they called a restaurant but was more like an institutional officer’s mess. The breakfast “buffet” which I had paid for with my room was the worst I have ever encountered, and I travel a lot: No eggs, no fresh fruit, and no coffee! When I inquired, they said they could make an omelet, but it never arrived. For coffee they said I could go to another building and buy it! After I complained, they brought me a packet of instant coffee which was awful. There was no warm food: several Egyptian vegetable stews that were supposed to be warm had been sitting out for so long that they were cold. No one cleaned or reset the tables when people left so both mornings I had to scavenge utensils and clean up a table myself. The dinner buffet was better. The Egyptian stews, vegetables and chicken were tasty but had also been sitting out too long and were no longer hot. The hotel was noisy because it was designed poorly with no sound absorbing materials. I heard furniture in other rooms screeching across the tile floors and doors slamming at all hours. And the cleaning staff began noisily conversing and dragging equipment along the halls beginning at 8am. The hotel was way overpriced for what reminded me of a basic military officers’ temporary accommodation. The WiFi was terrible. And the location was a long taxi ride from Assiut’s town center.

Staff were friendly but little to no English
Poor breakfast, poor evening meal (took forever to arrive)
Nothing at all
I will say this...on 14/05/2025 in the morning the hotel had no water to wash people nor for the W.C. We had rented 3 rooms and none of them had water (2008, 2209 and 2210). We had no WI-FI....And when it did have internet all the time it had long interruptions The Breakfast not even for a lower class hotel. And the price VERY PRICELESS for what it offered.
Very pleasant and helpful staff
The breakfast buffet was not good. Food choices were not appealing. Coming ti buffet at 9am..the food was picked-over...and not replenished for 9am dining. I dont think the buffet concept is a good idea.
quiet area of the city
First I paid $50 through Booking then they asked for another $50 because I am not Egyptian. I was quite moved by this as I was not informed about it. The hotel has 5 stars long ago and now it is max 3 stars with a pool. I was woken up all night by a creaking bed and a very banging elevator door. The cleanliness was also very poor. We have stayed in better hotels for $20-30.
Clean and tidy. Price is fine.
Was no bathrobe and slippers.
The rooms were clean and large. There was a modern television in each room. The staff was friendly and helpful. The grounds were nice with a park across the street. We enjoyed a great view from our room of the Nile river. If possible, you should check out the chalets across the street; we didn't go in but they appeared nice.
The restaurant was not good. The furniture was old and some broken, the top of our table was not connected to the legs. The staff seemed surprised and annoyed when we arrived. The menue did not look good the ambiance was unwelcoming. We eventually left without ordering. We went back to our room and had the food delivered. There was no breakfast and no bowls to eat cereal.
The hotel is called "Jewel", but actually it is part of the Armed Forces complex. I like it because I am a fan of his club atmosphere, including nice clean parks, swimming pools, playgrounds, open-air salons, and all sorts of well maintained facilities. The Armed Forces hotels are a well-known institution in Egypt, normally for military staff and their family members, but now also open for tourists. I must say it is good and clean.
The meals were good, especially meat. Breakfast sounded very promising when they announced: "continental, saïdi or fellahi". But we were a bit disappointed, it was not very good (the price per night would justify a great buffet, however, since occupation was very low, they served us what they had). The thing is that staff there doesn't seem to be commercially trained; they may be military staff working as a service. They are quite courteous, but you can see it's not their job.
Breakfast was average
The room had alot of problems - one of the main windows didn't lock - I had to go over to Reception to ask them to fix this which they did shortly after but I shouldn't have had to do that; the sliding balcony door was broken and couldn't be opened at all; there was no toilet paper in bathroom when I arrived; the bathroom window couldn't lock; cleanliness overall was poor. The property was very tired - needs painting and updating and cleaning up. Quite a bit of rubbish around the streets inside the complex and several lawns needed attention.
Beautiful location on the Nile, in lovely grounds Handy to shops Very new and spotless rooms
Staff are polite but not friendly It's a long walk from the gate to the hotel I left early and did not get the breakfast box I had asked for Noise from the pool until 10pm at night
Hotel was very clean, location was good and staff were super friendly.
Nice location on the bank of the Nile.
The staff was disorganized and generally lacked knowledge of basic English. However, the breakfast shift was much better and did their jobs well.
the room was ok, but the TV & Kettel (US plug) need a converter to connect to the electricity source.
very expensive because the breakfast was very bad and poor. the accountant Mr. Mohamed Kamel (accountant) was very rude and refused to give me the invoice for my room because he issued a combined invoice for 2 separate bookings, but Mr. Mahmoud Ahmed from reception helped me and solve the problem.
Unable to access breakfast room.
location
very lovely staff and hospitality
lovely staff and hospitality
This hotel complex has a nice location along the Nile. The size of the complex is a bit bizar (big area!), especially if you are more or less the only guest.
The choice in the restaurant was rather limited, but that was May be because we were the only guests as it seemed.
The Staff was extraordinarily Friendly, they handled their job professionally, the location of the hotel is also unique in a very safe and quite area, also the restaurant provides high quality food with a wide variety to choose from.
not many hotels available in this city. it’s associated with the army so is a very safe place to stay.
breakfast was v poor.
breakfast pack
Staff was friendly..clean room
Wifi disconnected after the first day of our stay .they didn't have enough money to recharge it. No water with the breakfast which was so poor.
