Reviewed Sep 18, 2026Hotel Baren is situated in an excellet location within 15 minutes to the center of Lucern either by bus or train. The bus station is right across the street and the train station is just a seam minute walk. The breakfast service provides an arrange of options for different dietary needs. If you wish to eat at the hotel's restaurant the food is fresh, traditional and delicious. There is a grocery store around the corner where you can get anything you need including toiletries and ready meals. Beautiful shops near by. If you enjoy the outdoors, there are some beautiful trails to explore for as short as a mile or as long as taking you a a different city.
It can be dark in the hallways at night.

Das Zimmer war sehr warm und verfügte leider nicht über eine Lüftung/Klima. In der Nacht stellte sich dann heraus, dass eine Strassenlampe direkt ins Zimmer scheint und die Strasse sehr laut ist. So gab es die Wahl zwischen heiss und stickig, oder hell und laut, was nicht gerade förderlich für einen erholsamen Schlaf war.

Reviewed Aug 31, 2026The room was clean and the location was perfect to reach Luzern. The train station is 5 minutes and the bus stop is practically outside the hotel. The hotel provides a visitor card that covers the transportation within zone 10.
The blinds on the window could have been darker. My kid got insect bites at night. The ventilation could have been better.

No air conditioning and when you open the window it is noisy because hotel is located near main road but luckily there was a fan and windows are very good blocking all the noise

Geen airco, waardoor het erg heet is op de kamer in de zomerperiode.

- Chambre non climatisée,en période de forte chaleur , insupportable !!🥵 presque pas dormi durant 4 nuits , un seul ventilateur octroyé par chambre malgré notre demande d’en avoir un autre et pas de possibilité d’ouvrir les fenêtres car la chambre donnait sur une route très passante donc bruyante. Petit déjeuner pas assez varié pour 18 ChF/pers . Rapport qualité /prix sans un climatiseur: 👎

Reviewed Aug 8, 2026Great location, with a bus stop to the city centre right outside the hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful, and check-in and check-out were quick and easy. One thing to keep in mind is that there isn’t a reception. The reception area is located in the restaurant downstairs, which I believe is because the property is considered a guest house rather than a hotel. I never felt the need to contact the staff anyway, so wasn’t an issue. Housekeeping was done every day as long as you put the sign on the door. The room itself was clean, and seemed recently updated. The hotel was also very quiet, and the town in general was quiet and safe. It was a bit warm during my stay, mainly due to the heat wave, but fans were provided in the room, which was helpful. Upon check-in, they also asked whether I wanted to book breakfast, which i didn’t need. Overall, I had a very good stay and would highly recommend this place, especially considering the location, the friendly staff and the quality of the rooms. Will definitely come back next year. d to the price on other hotels in the area.
Would’ve been great with AC in the room, but wasn’t that big of a deal. Not that common in Central Europe, so it’s understandable. Others then that, no complains.

Reviewed Aug 3, 2026Het is een goed accomodatie om te verblijven. Het avondeten was erg goed. Vrijwel alles is huisgemaakt en dat beviel me wel.
We boekten de hotelkamer voor 3 personen. 2 volwassenen en 1 kind van 4. Toen we aankwamen hadden we alleen twee slaapplaatsen (tweepersoonsbed) voor de volwassenen. Het hotel ging er van uit dat onze dochter van 4 bij ons in bed zou slapen. Bij Booking.com stond gratis verblijf voor het kind. Maar in de accomodatievoorwaarden staat dat een extra bed 35 Zwitserse frank kost. Dit vonden we wel raar en eigenlijk niet kunnen.

Jammer dat het restaurant gesloten was. Bij een open raam hoor je het verkeer.

In Zimmer sehr warm, Strassenlampe leuchtet bei offenem Fenster direkt ins Zimmer, recht viel Strassenlärm, nur Bettlaken ohne Duvet (aber hat bei der Hitze super funktioniert).

Había café, leche, azúcar y agua en el frigorífico. También habían puesto ventiladores para estar mas frescos por que había ola de calor .

Reviewed Jun 16, 2026The location is excellent, a short free bus ride from outside of the hotel to the centre of Luzern taking only 15 minutes. The staff were excellent, with such a warm welcome and a great breakfast. The apartment was spacious, clean and tidy. There's a great supermarket close by for provisions
Whilst spacious, clean and tidy the apartment lacked some essentials, particularly in the kitchen area, which are easy to put right. It needs a kettle (quite basic - you can't make tea with a coffee machine!) and a microwave. One bedroom is very spacious, the other much smaller especially with a double bed in it. The smaller room didn't have sockets at the bedside, with no bedside lights (only the bright ceiling light) or bedside tables (only a small high shelf either side). It didn't have a wardrobe nor any hooks, so nowhere to hang clothes. Little space to put a suitcase. The bedrooms need mirrors. The bathroom needs a key or other lock and as the shower is in the bath a bathmat should be provided....it was very slippery when wet as expected. Overall a good place but with a little thought it could be even better (and would need to be if it was to be used for more than a few days).

Reviewed Jun 5, 2026Das Personal war sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Das Zimmer war ideal für eine Nacht und die Lage auch, da ich mit dem Fahrrad auf der Durchreise war. Das Fahrrad durfte ich in der Garage unterstellen. Ich habe mich sehr wohl gefühlt.
Wegen dem Wochenende war es von der Hauptstrasse aus etwas laut. Bei geschlossenem Fenster war es jedoch okay.

Das Personal war super freundlich und aufmerksam! Das Zimmer war sehr sauber und hatte alles was man braucht. Wir würden jederzeit wieder kommen!

Location is too noisy till 22:00, walls itself are with poor isolation, we were able to hear all the movements from top.As apartment and comparing to single room, it offers only space and nothing more. We were too tired to complain but no knifes, no small pot for preparing tea, no plates(just 2 with useless shape) , so i dont see how this is called kitchen and basically we had "big room".

Das Frühstück war für den Preis eine Katastrophe. Aufgebackenes Brot obwohl eine Bäckerri um die Ecke liegt. Ein bisschen Aufschnitt und Käse lieblos auf einer Platte serviert. Ich habe 3 Tage dort gefrühstückt und nicht den Eindruck gehabt als wäre jedesmal frischer Aufschnitt und Käse auf der Platte gewesen. Das EZ war sehr klein, keine Ablagemöglichkeiten.

Reviewed Jan 19, 2026Das Zimmer war sauber, die Lage des Hotels ist sehr zentral. Ein Parkplatz stand zur Verfügung, ich hätte auch in die Tiefgarage fahren dürfen. Das Personal war extrem freundlich und hilfsbereit.
Da das Hotel an einer Durchfahrstraße liegt und unsere Zimmer zur Straße gingen, konnten wir die Fenster über Nacht nicht öffnen - es wäre zu laut gewesen.
